What makes a char menacing or unsettling?

Easily if a character has a record and shows no signs of improving as a person. Let’s say this person loves to get into fights with people or has a habit of jumping others for money. If they don’t show signs of stopping even after getting arrested or punishments more severe than detentions, that’s what makes them intimidating enough where you don’t want to mess with them. Ontop of that students who’re suspended or expelled tend to have a reason in which most cases are assault related offenses. Thus the conspicuation that they act like this outside of school is a reason to stay 100 feet away from them.

Others could say “Oh but what if they get suspended or other stuff not due to violent tendencies??” Well yeah you’re 100% right not everyone would get in trouble for fighting, but I find that people are more likely to get into fights others then do other stuff like getting drunk.

Hearing about them, before you meet them.

Unsettling and intimidating is far from common on SRP; it’s a Minecraft roleplay game after all, and for all its immersion, if someone doesn’t WANT to feel that way about another character there’s an easy and safe route out. One thing I’ve found inescapable though, is the absolute AURA of hearing about a character before you meet them. Whether through casual conversation, or walking around town, there’s something about a characters reputation preceding them that never fails to be intimidating.
