Backstory:
Yamaha was born in a family of 4, including his twin and his two parents. His parents were 'ordinary' working citizens with their comfortable life, their own house, car and children, along with a few family problems here and there.
Before Yamaha and his twin Yumi were born, their parents never planned to have children due to the fear and struggle of raising them, which was understandable due to the desire to keep their comfortable life. But sometimes one's prayers aren't heard while another ones is. Yamaha's grandparents only had one child, that is Yamaha's father, Dae-Jung Tetsuya, so they have always wished to have grandchildren. On one regular day, Yamaha's mother, Ye-Jun Tetsuya, felt something odd whilst her husband cooks eggs. Her initial reaction was to ignore it; however soon after that thought rose, she found herself running to the bathroom in a rush. Ye-Jun was in instant panic due to seeing this exact same thing with her sisters whom were also pregnant at the time. She instantly told her husband and he too was scared. Ye-Jun took multiple tests in hope they were all negatives, however her hope was quickly shut down when she saw two lines on all of them. Ye-Jun and Dae-Jung were both concerned, scared and quite frankly, a bit angry with themselves. They were so careful and let themselves go with stupidity. Their thoughts ran wild as they worried if they were wealthy enough to raise a child.
Even after the worrisome thoughts, they both decided to keep the baby and hope it turns out to be a miracle for the next chapter of their lives… Although it had only gotten worse, Yamaha’s mother was having twins.
9 more months of morning sickness, picky eating, stress, hormonal outbursts and even unemployment, Ye-Jun gave birth to healthy identical twins, a daughter called Yumi Tetsuya, and 2 minutes later, a son called Yamaha Kwon Tetsuya.
As the twins grew up, they found issues with living in Incheon, Dae-Jung’s parents were on the run looking for their grandchildren, however due to poor relationship between Dae-Jung and his parents, they decided to move to Japan. So when the twins were 6 years old, they decided to pack everything up and move to a small town in Japan where they spent their childhood and most of their teenage years there.
During their school life in Japan, Yamaha weirdly enough had their Dad’s genes, which gave him insane height, Yumi did too, but didn’t grow as rapidly. This caused Yamaha to receive relentless bullying during the first 2 years of his life in Japan but that doesn’t mean he did not fight back. With his height he defended himself successfully and eventually false rumours spread that he was the one who started bullying random kids first. Yumi on the other hand, was popular for being the smart and pretty kid, she loved the attention which caused them to be polar opposites despite being twins. Yumi, however grew tired of the same old friends and same old people trying to please her and ‘worship her’, and Yamaha grew tired of having false rumours spread about him.
When they were 16, their parents overheard that Ye-Jun’s brother-in-law was moving his children to Karakura High School, two towns over from the town Yumi and Yamaha grew up in. They thought it would be best to move to a different school to start fresh due to Yumi’s twin brother having bullying incidents in his other school, making him barely pass his classes.
Their father took this time to have a serious conversation with Yamaha and Yumi, asking them whether they want to stay or move to Karakura by themselves and see their cousins there too, whom they heard about a few times throughout their life. They were both not very happy about the chance but if it gave them both a break from that hell of a town they lived in, then they would take that chance.
It took time to get ready to find a comfortable place in Karakura in advance as well as contacting Ye-Jun’s brother-in-law, but by the time they were 17, they were ready to move. After a tearful goodbye to their parents, they took the long train ride along with a bit of walking and bus ride, and made it to Karakura where a certain Red, Pink and Purple headed trio were waiting with a big smile. "Welcome to Karakura bitches!"
