Her style is experimental, changing depending on her mood and ideas for what she wants to wear on a particular day. Some days she may dress in a modest dress fit for a young lady, and others, she may go in a more daring direction with miniskirts and sleeveless dresses.

Due to focusing more on her academics and artistic skills for most of her school career, Yui has only recently put more of a focus on her hobbies that are not art related, and of course, exploring other types of interests as well, for better or for worse.
Yui is a reserved and shy girl when you first meet her, unlikely to start a conversation and even less likely to start a friendship. When you dive deeper into her however, you will find a bright and passionate girl who is dedicated to her goals and ambitions, and always looking for something new to learn and master. . .this can lead to her struggling to stick to her interests for an extended period of time, and she doesn’t get why, and she wishes she did, both for her and her wallet’s sake.
Yui’s biggest interest is visual art, which she has been partaking in since she was in Grade 7, and plans to turn it into something more when she graduates one day. Other hobbies include watching magical girl anime alongside the Pokemon anime, singing and playing guitar in private, learning biology, and athletic activities including Volleyball, swimming, basketball, and biking.
She has begun posting some of her musical process onto Onrain, none of the actual singing/guitar playing, however.

These are not stated in the actual description due to this not being revealed ICly as of now, but Yui has undiagnosed ADHD, OCD, and Anxiety Disorder, all of which she tries her best to mask without realizing it. This plays into her biggest flaw of ignoring any issues in her life, be it external or internal.
She’ll never be the first to admit it, but Yui has a lot of issues with self confidence in every aspect of her life. She hates how she can’t look like the gorgeous girls who post the most confidently beautiful pictures onto Onrain while she fakes a smile for every picture she posts of herself that pale in comparison . She hates how she doesn’t just get everything at the snap of a finger, sure, her report card is near flawless, but that is NEAR flawless, and mostly due to the classes being easy ones. Most of all though, she despises how everyone just clicks with other people, how everyone seems like they can just go up to people and be friends with everyone in Karakura while she would rather hide away when someone new introduces themselves to her.
. . .not to mention the fact that she is eighteen and still has never had a romantic partner when it feels like everyone else in her grade has their perfect somebody or is bound to get with someone soon. It’s best to just keep that all hidden though, after all, all of those little worries would just make her annoying and unapproachable, or heaven forbid if Yui were to show her anger about it, dangerous. That just wouldn’t do, it would make everything worse, so she’ll put on a smile as every thought goes to the back of her mind and she continues glancing at every group she’s too scared to talk to, or pressing like and scrolling when she sees another perfect model post themselves online.

Her parents both still live in Tokyo, and communicate to Yui on the phone a few times a week, occasionally mailing her childhood photos. . .both most of these actions come from her mother.
Miu Toyoda is Yui’s mother who lives in Tokyo, overall, Yui feels smothered by Miu’s affection due to Miu still treating her like she’s a young child. She is also part of the influence as to why Yui is reserved and quiet, and especially as to why Yui is overall polite, as she raised Yui to believe that is what society wants from a woman, a nice, polite, and modest young lady.
Yui can’t help but question these beliefs now.
Kentarō Toyoda is Yui’s father who lives in Tokyo, and she can say much less about her father than her mother. She has some good memories with him, such as playing catch in a small playground or being read bedtime stories, but he was either always at work or just gone with no explanation, and then back as if nothing ever happened.
Now she has little contact with him, only getting the occasional call or two, and they are usually accompanied by her mother.

Sometimes, Yui questions if it was for the best to be a blissfully unaware child in her youth, with Karakura’s social climate and being on her own opening her eyes to the idea that her childhood might’ve not been as peaceful as she remembers.
Yui was born to Miu Toyoda and Kentarō Toyoda in Tokyo on November 29th, 2006, growing up poor in a small apartment in the same city. Life was chaotic when she was an infant, her father was constantly at work and her parents struggled to get her to talk, with the occasional help, especially JSL, only coming in her toddler years. By the time she was five, things began to look almost fine in their family dynamics, they were poor, with her father job-hopping constantly, but Yui played like any young girl of her age, Miu was what you would expect of a housewife, and Kentarō. . .well, Yui didn’t see him enough to realize that he wasn’t just leaving for work at the time.
It’s hard to say much about her rinse and repeat life until her parents sent her off to Karakura for high school, something she didn’t really want to do at first, but didn’t have much of a say in to do more than one small protest, and it might be one of the few good decisions that Yui would say was. . .not for the worst. Now she just hopes she can graduate, build her skills, and maybe understand why her home life felt so normal yet so odd, she just needs to convince her parents that she’s old enough to KNOW that something is wrong.
