I am on daily for 5+ hours. I started to play daily in June 2021, and I continue to enjoy building characters and playing with friends. Out of all the factions I joined, I never missed a month’s quota, even if I was on inactivity. I am on all days of the week as well.

School Employee Role you are applying for?:
Caretaker
In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:
Caretakers have a variety of duties to keep the school running and the kids safe. They have two main stations: The boiler room and the janitor’s closet. The boiler room contains equipment and the bus schedule/route, and the janitor’s closet contains the cleaning schedule.
Buses: Caretakers are given access to keys for either a single or double decker bus. Caretakers will make an announcement at around 7:00 and start their route at 7:15. They will typically make three laps in order to allow students to have a chance to hop on. However, during winter, the snow will slow down the bus. To combat this, it’s good to ask for help shoveling the roads before school.
Cleaning: Usually done by cleaning products and a good detailRP, Caretakers must assure the hallways, bathrooms, lockerrooms, and the rest of school are clean. Students may track in water when it rains, so it’s important to keep the floors clean so they don’t trip. Caretakers have access to /wetfloorsign, which will place a sign for 10 minutes to alert students of the wet floor.
Maintenance: Caretakers are required to be available for maintenance. For example, a gas leak in the boiler room. It’s important to resolve the problem before it harms other students and faculty.
Student Safety: Caretakers will often be seen patrolling the school to assure students are following the rules. The number one rule is safety, and if a student harms themselves or others, you must put a stop to it. CCTV can also be checked, often asked for over the radio, which the Caretaker will lead to the boiler room CCTV area where they’re able to check the cameras and report back (by asking for screen shots OOCly).
What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:
During my time on this server, I’ve had quite a few roles from student, club lead, all the way to paying jobs. I started roleplaying when I was little and it turned into a discovery of minecraft roleplay. I wanted to find a server where it was strictly roleplay based, which is when I found Roleplay Hub.
My first tag other than a student was [Journalist], which later became the Club Lead. Having the role taught me responsibilities and leadership, since I’m required to lead a group of people with a similar interest. Second I’ve gotten [Caretaker], which I’ve kept for years. Then I joined EMS as a doctor, which was a fun experience. I learned a lot of detailRP from it, and problem solving to help save lives. Lastly, I’ve joined [Professor]. I enjoyed the roleplay opportunities it brought, and it allowed me to format lesson plans and grow with the higher up’s advice.
Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:
I’ve been a Caretaker for awhile, and people know my character as “the Caretaker”. I was active in the role, never missing quota. I loved driving the buses, raging at the snow, going into zen as I detailRPed cleaning up silly pranks the club leads did to each other, and I loved the gas leaks SLT would make me fix.
I took a leap to become a professor, and although it has been interesting, I feel at home as a Caretaker and hope to come back. Caretakers have purpose caring for students, answering questions, and assuring safety. I enjoy roleplaying as a Caretaker and took the job seriously, and I hope to return so the buses can run on their regular schedules again.

During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:
Safety is number one priority, so as long as it doesn’t interfere with it, Sunada will stay calm. He wouldn’t argue back as that’s unprofessional, and he wouldn’t talk back either. He’d simply ask the student to stop being disrespectful. If the student continues, Sunada will warn them with a detention. It’s not a big deal, but it should be taken care of nonetheless.
You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:
“Seperate,” he’d say. “What happened?” He’ll hear both sides of the story. Students deserve to be listened to, even if one clearly instigated the fight. However, once Sunada hears them, he’ll figure out what to do from there. If it’s obvious and the students admit to it, or they keep going at it, Sunada will give them a detention. If there are some denials and fact checking needed, Sunada will radio for help and check CCTV once someone arrives. When checked and proven who hit who, Sunada will report over radio for the other faculty to give them detention for assault.
Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:
I’ve been there before. A faculty member once climbed a tree in order to get a student down, fell, and broke his legs. My character, at the time, radio’d for him to get down. It’s not worth it, we’ll find a different method. Please be careful! However, the faculty member kept climbing and eventually fell. My character sprang into action, calling for a nurse. It was the end of the day, which called for an EMS visit. He ended up okay, but when Sunada sees danger, he’ll plead first and take action after it happens. It’s always good to report incidents like that to HDs or SLT too.
When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
It depends on what’s happening in the faculty lounge. If Sunada is alone, he’s always after the microwaveable hotdogs. He sits and eats one during his lunch break, relaxing before returning on duty. He often takes lunch break during period three in order to be at the lunch table area and clean up spilled food while students are eating. When there are people inside the lounge, Sunada will (depending on the current mood) either take a few minutes to relax or chat with others. “Busy day, huh.” Sometimes in the morning, Sunada will use the coffee machine for a warm drink. It would be perfect for winter.

/me Patrolled the club hallway before coming across a pile of dirt and a pile of glass near the outdoor club. He’d gasp, inspecting where the shattered glass was before taking out a broom and carefully brushing it into a trashbag. He’d then use the dust pan as a shovel in order to get some of the dirt loose, collecting a few trashbags full of dirt. He’d take a breath before speaking into the radio. “This club war thing sure is crazy.” He’d finish off with a mop inside soapy water and a wet floor sign for good measure.
/me Entered the faculty lounge before stretching. Hands in the air stretching paired with a tired yawn. “Sure is a long day,” he’d say, heading over to the microwave and plopping a hotdog inside. He’d wait, taking it out right before it beeped. He’d put it on a plate and take a seat, finally relaxing.
/me Approached the male’s locker room with a mop and a bucket full of soapy water. He peeked in, assuring no one was changing before heading in and taking the mop out to start scrubbing. He’d move it back and forth, back and forth, taking a minute to dip it in again before following the broom around the edges. Under the sinks, under the stalls, and in the showers. He’d put the excess water into the drain before placing a wet floor sign on the ground.

Backstory
Born on November 12 in Naples, Italy, Oliver came into the world at the side of his loving mother, Natalia La Rossa Sunada, and his hard working father, Yaginuma Sunada. He was brought home to his maternal grandparents and his older brother Haru, age 3 at the time. Oli’s grandparents were able to take care of him and his brother whilst his parents worked. Natalia was a server at a restaurant, and Yaginuma was a highly demanded Paramedic. Because of this, Oliver’s parents weren’t home as much for the first few years of his life. When Oliver was 4, Natalia quit her job as a server to fulfill her passion in writing and teaching kids; by becoming a children’s literature writer. She would often write books and read those books to her sons, Oliver and Haru. It was quite special, and Oli cherished those books throughout his childhood. Oli’s father would often be gone, doing long shifts at his hospital job. Oftentimes it would be a mix of day and night shifts, causing him to arrive home exhausted and needing to go to bed. He was overall a good father to the boys, as well as a good husband, but moments as a family were quite rare. Sometimes, Oliver would wonder why his dad chose his job over him. As Oliver grew older, he would be encouraged to get outside of his comfort zone by his parents. They watched Haru achieve so much academically whilst Oliver fell behind. His dad especially had high hopes for his boys, and signed them up for school clubs and sports. Haru was often seen as gifted. The family often referred to him as the “golden child,” and it didn’t help that Haru had natural golden blonde hair either. Oli felt discouraged, but had to keep up with his father’s demands. He was signed up to play baseball, which at the time could barely hold the bat straight. He was signed up to play chess, but he could only see one move at a time.
By the time Oli reached the age of 8, his grandparents started teaching him gardening. They had many types of plants on their balcony, including climbing vines. Oliver took a liking to gardening, and he also hated getting his hands dirty, so also took a liking to soap. The smells and the suds as well as the different types; he’d always use too much when washing his hands. He’d also mix them together, and ever since, he carried a light scent of soap that trailed behind him at all times. People called him germaphobic because of his obsession though, but Oli didn’t know what it meant so just ignored it. Flash forward to a peaceful sunny day, aged 9, Oliver was watching cartoons on the couch while his grandmother was talking on the phone. Suddenly, Oliver was in the car driving to the hospital. Turns out while taking Haru somewhere, there was a bad car crash, and Haru and Natalia were in critical condition. Paramedic Yaginuma was the first on the scene, and seeing his family involved broke him down. He did do his job, however, and brought his wife and son into the hospital before calling his mother-in-law over.
Whilst his mother was receiving life saving care, Oliver was brought to his brother’s room. He was heartbroken to see his brother in such poor shape: groggy and two broken legs. Oli was scared, and rightfully so, so when he broke down into sobs, he was taken home. Yaginuma took a long break from his job after the incident, he stayed home with Oli and often brought him to the hospital to visit his mother and brother. Oli couldn’t see his mother quite yet, but often visited his brother, who could barely speak. They would communicate with pictures each visit, and Haru would be taken to all sorts of therapies and checkups before being discharged home. Life wasn’t the same after that, Oli didn’t quite understand the severity of the situation and would ask questions of when his mother would come home. Now that he father was home, Oli would constantly beg for him to play, after all, Haru was stuck in bed and couldn’t. Yaginuma tried hard to take care of his sons, but was unable to keep up. Because of that, Oli was sent off for slumber parties more often. He thought it was awesome to stay up all night, watch movies, and eat snacks, but he started to get old after a while, ending up bored and just wanting to go to bed as soon as the sun went down.
Natalia was able to come home after a couple months, and her kids were ecstatic. They were finally a family again, able to live their lives again, even if it was different. At age 15, Oliver wanted something different, so he saved money and bought a one way plane ticket to Karakura, Japan. He knew Japanese from his father, so the new language wasn’t a challenge. However, he failed to set up living arrangements, so he was stuck living in a cheap beach house until a spot opened up. Karkura was in a housing crisis at the time of Oli’s arrival, so it took a solid six months until he finally got an apartment of his own. When in Karakura, he had lots to discover, it was a new place with quite a high crime rate. However, he didn’t do any research before moving on his own. He met a variety of people he felt close to, including a boy by the name of Luca. Luca and he would often climb Mount Karakura and play games like Truth or Dare with the friend group.
When Oli was 18 and comfortable with the town and his friends, he thought he had it all. He even found a love interest who returned feelings. However, Luca was pushy towards Oli, and he never set boundaries, which caused him to continue letting Luca push him around. At one point, Oli found himself in a situation where Luca turned violent, and he took Oli and a friend to his apartment and wouldn’t let them leave. Luca would leave them alone, only coming back to speak and give them food. Oli was terrified and paranoid, and wouldn’t stand up for himself, because when he tried, he’d get physically assaulted. He even tried escaping at one point, only to be brought back and punished. There were several points where Luca would leave his apartment, so with one of those occurrences, Oli took his chance and called the cops. When KPD arrived, they broke down the door and rescued Oli and his friend. While talking outside, Luca returned and was promptly escorted away. For the next several years, Oli developed severe anxiety and paranoia, flinching at everything. He couldn’t handle it anymore, and he knew Luca would be out of prison soon, so he vowed to change his identity and hide. He just knew when Luca returned, he’d be looking for him. So to a friend’s apartment he went, dying his hair raven black and finding glasses he didn’t even need. His eyes strained, but he ignored it. He called himself Lev and tried to live a normal life, paranoid at every movement in the corner of his eye. He was okay though, different enough to make a difference, as if Lev was reaching out a hand, a protector of sorts.
Once Oli’s hair grew out and the fear of Luca subsided, Oli was able to focus on his studies. He chose Psychology, and he made his way up through his Masters program and even a PHD! Due to him taking it seriously and finding his own path, he decided to break up with his girlfriend. Not even a week after, his now ex was found dead in his apartment, most likely a murder, as there was a note left behind. Oli was distraught, of course, and brought her to the hospital, running on pure shock and adrenaline. That’s where he was there, waiting for EMS, muttering under his breath. She was pronounced dead, and was told to go home. Oli went to the KPD the next day to express his concerns regarding the crime scene, but was told to use bleach to clean it up and nothing ever came of it. So he did, he pitched the area rug and took several hours to scrub the hardwood floors, and even the walls. Not long after, Oli graduated with his PHD and was off to his job as a Caretaker in Karakura High. Enforcing safety rules and cleaning the halls, it was the perfect job for him. He loved it, actually, he found enjoyment in the small things, and was excited about the new bus routes. When he turned 27, he switched over to becoming a professor. 2 months in and he realised that it was a LOT. Grading, lesson planning.. He’d always find himself in the faculty lounge instead of out having fun and keeping students safe. He finally decided to apply for his Caretaker spot again, a role he enjoys and feels best suits him.
Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):
My motivation in joining KHS is familiarity. I’ve been working here since I got out of college with my PHD, and I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. The people I work with are wonderful and the job possesses many challenges I must figure out. Education is important, which is why I wish to motivate students to keep going.
Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
Experience! I’ve been doing this for years, and I always follow through on the tasks. I’ve noticed with others, it’s hard to keep up with the bus schedule, which is a bummer. The bus is so much fun to drive, and I hope to return to keep the tradition alive. There are plenty of professors and teachers around, but when it comes to Caretakers, it’s hard work keeping the whole school clean. I should also be accepted because I’m reliable and online for most of the day, as well as many friends in the faculty faction.
