Despite university starting soon, I won't be starved for time and availability on both accounts as my schedule is quite forgiving. If you're interested in the range of availability, on most days I am free from 8am-10pm in my time zone. This also varies given that I have more available time on the weekend, the cut-off being around 00:30 on Friday and Saturday dependant on whether or not I have work the following day.

GENERAL INQUIRIES SECTION

WHAT POSITION ARE YOU APPLYING FOR (Maiden/Priest)?
Maiden

WHAT IS YOUR MOTIVATION FOR APPLYING?
There are various reasons, I'll start by covering my real life ambitions. In truth, I've always found a certain fascination with cultures of all sorts but Japanese culture is one of which I plan on experiencing thoroughly in real life when I am scheduled to study abroad close by. Not only will this be a good opportunity to learn extensively in preparation for such, I can also experience the level of interest others have to share regarding the same subject. I like to think of this as a sort of pre-requisite trial of sorts, though it isn't the best terminology to use, it demonstrates that my interest is beyond simply having a role.

In previous applications I had made jokes about the benefits of more money, though in this case I don't actually need it. I'm primarily interested in how I can develop my character within the confides of the shrine grounds and how I can dive into a writing style that I'm not particularly comfortable with, given I am incredibly confident in my ability to conform to a position with my experiences with stories and DetailRP in general. I was given the opportunity to marry a Maiden character a few years back when kettlesip was still an active participant alongside others such as Erina Hozumi, since then and my original application's denial, I have been waiting for another opportunity to apply when my other interests wouldn't interfere with the process.

Despite my prior experiences with people IN the faction, I have never actually had the opportunity to personally have a character there, such as an internship or maiden alternative. My reason for Maiden as opposed to Priest is more-so a humbling, I'm not entirely certain I'd be able to currently qualify for that sort of experience given I like to take my characters seriously and ensure I'm fully prepared for what I am taking on. In this case, Maiden gives me ample time to learn, develop my interest and knowledge, experience a faction that I am yet to be granted an opportunity in and give me something else to do on the server where I believe my contribution could benefit the faction. During my time zone, there is rarely ever shrine staff on for the better part of most mornings. At first that point may seem insignificant, though, I know that a lot of people's motivation to visit the shrine stems from having someone familiar to see, the same way people will not visit the hospital if there are no EMS online. It has been a while since I have been in a town faction, I can fill that gap for you.

WHAT DO YOU CURRENTLY KNOW ABOUT SHINTOISM? ARE YOU WILLING TO LEARN MORE?
I believe my previous answers provide enough context surrounding whether or not I am willing to learn more, but yes, I will re-iterate that this is my primary objective. As for what I am currently aware of, I will split this into sub categories as a means of thoroughly displaying what it is I am educated and not educated on. My goal is to provide an accurate extent based on memory, I will be sure to look further into each required area after the fact.

KAMI:
As far as my current knowledge extends, I am aware that Kami are not considered to be the same as 'gods' in alternate religious text. They are more-so attributed to the idea of spirits associated with the natural order, historical individuals, objects, animals and phenomena of all sorts, such being the case with the occurrence of disaster or weather patterns being aligned with the actions or displeasure of a Kami. Of course, I am aware that they are not to blame for every thing that occurs naturally. Following on from that, I know that there is around 8 million of them, only in passing have I been made aware of the term 'Yaoyorozu no Kami' which is defined as a huge quantity. On a personal note, something that fascinates me the most is the fact that we as people inherit OR share our traits with the divine, it is similar in Greek mythology by which those considered higher beings are still afflicted by emotion and wrongdoing.

WORSHIP/PROCESSION:
Based on both my experiences at the shrine and the research I've taken up in the distant past, I recall various requisites of worship when visiting shrines and partaking in religious activity in general. To start with, the purification ceremony before you are permitted to proceed, whereby you rinse your left hand, then right, then your mouth with the water poured into your hands, concluding with the ladle itself. There is also the process of making offerings whereby you bow twice, clap twice, pray and then bow once followed by the ring of a bell (This may occur beforehand, Not certain.) As for prayer itself, it is oriented around cleansing, ensuring a relationship between the Kami, people and the land.

YOMI:
A land considered an afterlife of sorts in Shintoism, two plots of land divided by a river. I am aware of the context surrounding this existence, being that Izanami had died and then been sent to this realm, followed by Izanagi whom went on to escape and create this process of 'kegare' or 'purification'. I'm not sure if this is considered base level knowledge, nor if it is entirely accurate however, I had quite the RP stretch covering Yomi.

TRADITION:
I won't pretend to have a lengthy extent of knowledge surrounding every single Shinto tradition, I am simply aware of the immense quantity of religious occasions that exist. This is a subject that I will need educating on and plan on doing my own research. One of which I am aware of, which I'm sure is quite commonly known, is the rite of passage and how it serves as a transition between significant stages of an individual's life. Families will often visit in birth, before marriage, transitions into adulthood and an expected death.

SIGNIFICANCE:
This isn't directly related to Shinto procedures but more so surrounding how people are expected to approach them. I know of the significance surrounding different regions and the presence of various shrines being completely different to that of other religions where, for example, each church worships the same god. In Shinto's case, different shrines worship different kami and it is essential to keep this in mind when visiting. I also know that the Shinsei Seinaru Monastery worships Chiharu, a mountain kami from what I recall.

IC INFORMATION

CHARACTER FULL NAME:
A gloved palm schooled the stubborn fray of violet locks, threading them between the ash hued fabric adorning her fingers, parting the curtains to present her crescent lips. 'My full name is Nyve Rever, a pleasure, quite! Forgive the bad hair day, I admit I was tumbling out of the door in excitement and happened to forget a brush.' One leg deprived the other of blood-flow, the length of her gown hung lazy--A drunk dance, partaken hand in hand with each of her mannerisms.

CHARACTER TITLE/MARITIAL STATUS:
An accusatory plateau of her palm struck the face of her torso, a faux offense taken at such a conniving inquiry. 'I fear I am yet to take hold of the bouquet at the banquet, leaving my poor self alone. I go by Miss."

CHARACTER AGE/NATIONALITY:
Her fingers knitted, weaving a wicker basket with the porcelain appendages. 'First my marital status and now my age, class has truly met it's end.' Dispersing the jest with a sheepish grin, she'd scatter the now settled strands with a wave of her hand. 'Jest aside, I am 23 years old and Japanese through and through, having been born in Shikoku.'

DEGREE/CERTIFICATIONS (If applicable):
A proud soul sits atop it's ivory tower without shame, she, however, provided various alternative indicators of how she truly felt. She'd scratch her head whilst averting her eyes, posture speaking numbers on her grades. 'Admittedly I was... A little too rebellious at school. I never attained my degree but I was in my senior year on a Law course. That concluded with me quietly and politely walking out, given it simply wasn't how I wanted to spend my life. Oh the lectures, how dreadful.'

CHARACTER SITUATIONAL AWARENESS AND KNOWLEDGE SECTION

HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER ACT AROUND SHRINE GROUNDS? HOW DO THEY INTERACT WITH GUESTS AND OTHER STAFF?
'I have always aimed to maintain a positive relationship with my peers.' Thus, her itinerary began. 'Whilst I do ensure I take great care around others, I am NOT old enough to treat them like my children just yet... SO! More plausibly, I would be a respectful and humble little soul with the occasional attempt at humour.' Had it not been apparent prior, she was informally polite when the subject was hypothetical, though her heart remain unbound by the love for frost. 'I am trying to turn this into an extension of my life, this means more to me than a mere job.'

YOU SEE A GUEST JUMPING AROUND THE ROOFTOPS OF THE BUILDING AND OVERALL DISRESPECTING SHRINE GROUNDS, HOW WOULD YOUR CHARACTER HANDLE IT?
'Someone trotting along the roofs?' In a moment of conflict, she'd press her thumbnail to the flesh of her lower lip, her index serving as an awning for her mouth. 'I would tell that little sh-... I would indicate my displeasure by calling out and requesting that they get down, if they refuse then we either sacrifice them or blacklist them.' It was a context-sensitive question, given there are an endless amount of factors to account for. 'It is dependant on how co-operative said individual is.'

Why does your character want to become a shrine maiden/priest? What do they wish to achieve?

What are the core values of your character? (OPTIONAL - MORE INFO IN FAQ)
