What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
When it comes to roleplay, I am highly confident in my abilities. I enjoy being creative and SchoolRP gives me many ways to express it. I've enjoyed roleplaying as a high school student, but also enjoy taking risks and stepping out into different areas. For example, I attended exams and passed them, getting into College. This opened up many doors, such as having an older character and getting roleplay experience in various subjects taught by professors, such as marine biology and medical biology. I also have been immersing myself in animalRP with the variety of animal whitelists the server has to offer. I have quite a few, and have done a bit of research on each animal to ensure I roleplay realistically. I also admire people who detailRP well, and I try my best to detailRP when I can. I consider myself a good writer, taking several writing classes throughout school. I also find SchoolRP to be improving my writing ability as well. I've been active on SchoolRP long enough to feel confident in my knowledge of rules and how each role interacts with people.
What is your motivation for applying?
I enjoy expanding my roles upon the server and wish to do even more. I also have many animal whitelists and think it would be cool to treat them at the hospital. The new business park design was cool to see, but the new hospital revamp was amongst my favorite. I've been wanting to apply in the EMT faction but I felt that I didn't know enough about EMTs yet to detailRP correctly and have fun with it. However, once I found out there's going to be a vet department, I was super excited and jumped on the opportunity to apply! I'd had a ton of pets growing up, such as dogs, cats, hermit crabs, fish, and a hamster. Currently I have 4 cats and 2 dogs. I have also wanted to be a vet when I was younger as well. I am confident in my abilities to detailRP a proper check up, chipping, wound-care, and anything else vets have to offer. I also enjoy the excitement and fun being apart of the EMT faction in Karakura/SRP!

Which role are you applying for?
(Doctor or Psychiatrist):

Doctor (Veterinarian)
What knowledge do you have of Hospital Work?
Hospitals in general I know quite a bit about. The typical visit includes checking in, waiting, and being brought back to be checked for your vitals (heart pressure, heart rate, weight, and height). Once finished, the patient must continue to wait in the waiting room until the doctor calls them in. They sit in the room and the doctor asks questions about their identity (name and birthday) to assure they have the right person. They have their chart which includes notes about medications, conditions, medical history, and even family medical history. The doctor uses all of that information to ask the patient questions about their symptoms and concerns.
In Karakura, however, many cases are pretty obvious from the start. People come in with bruises, concussions, broken bones, and even stab wounds. This requires immediate care and even use of scans! There are a lot of types of scans, a common one being the X-ray. X-rays are used to not only look at bones, but to even detect immoralities in your organs. For example, doctors can see hernias, fluid in lungs, and enlarged hearts in X-rays.
Another scan I know is the MRI. This highly magnetic machine is strict about what you can have/wear around it. Anything metal will be sucked up and it's important for the patient to wear nothing metal, usually being a hospital outfit given by doctors. The MRI can detect things like concussions, brain activity, and even cancer. MRIs, in my experience, typically last about 45 minutes. The patient sometimes must get contrast, a liquid inserted by IV, to help the MRI take pictures. The patient is told to lay down and to hold a small object used to alert the doctor if needed. If the patient is claustrophobic, there is an option to put them to sleep to avoid stress. Patients who are awake wears headphone since the machine is loud, as well as being told when to hold their breath to be able to take still pictures.
CT scans, commonly known as CAT scans are what I like to call the shorter MRI. The contrast that gets inserted by IV makes the patient's abdomen feel warm. CTs last about 7 or so minutes depending where they scan. CTs can detect things like fractured bones, tumors, brain injuries, blood clots, kidney stones and cancer.
PET scans are a scan that makes the patient radioactive. Before the scan, they must drink a white liquid that many people find to be absolutely foul. Once they drink it, they wait a bit before heading to the scan. The scan can detect things like neurological disease, heart disease, and cancer. Once the scan is finished, the patient must wait alone in a room until the radiation dies down since it can harm those around them.
Ultrasounds aren't really considered a scan, but they are important tools. The most common use is to look at babies in pregnant women to check health and even find out the gender. However, ultrasounds can be used in other areas too. Ultrasounds can detect/find things like cancer, bladder stones, heart, thyroid, kidneys, bladder, and more. It can also help doctors locate a patient's veins for blood draws. Radiologists are the ones who can read and understand ultrasounds the best.
Doctors also can use other things to check health, such as thermometers, stethoscopes, reflex hammer, and so on. Typical things you'd see in a doctor's office. They can also request things like blood tests and urine tests which can say a lot about a patient's health. Once diagnosed, doctors are able to prescribe medication, other items (crutches, inhaler, EpiPen etc.), and recommendations of lifestyle changes (such as exercise and a change of diet).
Psychiatrists also need some tool as well. Not as many as doctors, but the tools they use usually involve their knowledge, computers, and research. They also research about knew studies that come out in order to help the patient. They must trust the patient and ask questions and listen, writing things down. When it applies, they'll be able to recommend things (such as trying vitamin D or iron supplements which lack of can lower energy and heighten depression symptoms). Mental health is as important as physical health so psychiatrists are crucial for checking up on patients.
As a vet, your patients can't tell you what's wrong. It's important to ask the owner questions and read the patient's body language. Animals can go through scans too as well as take tests like blood and urine. Microscopes are a huge part of being a vet, they're used for checking for bacteria in blood. Care items like flea and tick spray are also important. In some cases, different breeds have different health issues, a common one being how pugs have an increased difficulty in breathing. Another lesser known fact, since German shepherds are common on SRP, is that they have an increased chance of hip dysplasia, which means the hip joint is looser which can be treated with lifestyle changes and even surgery.
I enjoy watching TV shows about vets and I continue to learn a lot about them. Some of which can apply to the many animal whitelists in SRP. When dealing with large dangerous animals (reindeer in the show, but can work with bears in SRP), the use of tranquilizers works for putting the animal to sleep. The vet then places a rag over their closed eyes in order to calm it down and not stress it out. This allows the vet to treat the animal safely. When it comes to dogs and cats (the most common), the vets are nice and respectful to the owners and gives them clear instructions on how to treat their pet (for example, how to give antibiotics to prevent wound infections). They take the time to listen to what happened as they do some small tests, such as listening to their lungs if the owner talks about them wheezing. When the animal squirms or yelps, the doctors make sure to make them as comfortable as possible and give them breaks. On rare occasions, there was this one very feral cat that would sprint around the room, hiss, and hated people. The vet had a special tool he used to clamp the cat in a metal net-like foldable trap. The cat was trapped and the vet was able to get it under control. Being humane and nice are a vet's priorities. Putting animals down happens too, and there's several vets around who light a candle by a note explaining how someone had lost a beloved pet and to be respectful. Remaining professional and kind is important and when animals can't get treated, sometimes it's best to put them down. On the brighter side of things, vets enjoy their jobs and being able to interact with many species. The pay off of helping animals in need is defiantly worth everything.

Backstory (100+ Words)
On a warm summer day on August 22nd in Somerset, United Kingdom, a young couple found themselves facing the unexpected news of their impending parenthood. At the tender age of 17, they were still navigating the complexities of their own lives. Faced with the reality of their situation, they made the difficult decision to give their child, whom they called Takuma,, the opportunity for a better life by putting him up for adoption.
Takuma’s journey began at a local orphanage, where he was welcomed into a diverse community of children from all walks of life. The orphanage became his first home, a place where he formed lasting friendships and discovered his own unique strengths and interests.
As Takuma grew older, he yearned for a sense of belonging and stability. He was fortunate to be placed in two different foster homes, each offering him a glimpse into the rich tapestry of cultures around the world.
[Chapter one: The Start Of a Lifetime]
At the age of seven, his first foster home took him on an incredible adventure to Russia. Arriving in a cozy, traditional, wooden house. It’s nestled in a picturesque setting, surrounded by tall pine trees and a beautiful garden. Inside, you’ll find warm, inviting rooms filled with comfortable furniture, family photographs, and vibrant artwork. He found himself in the caring embrace of the Ivanov family. The Ivanovs are a warm-hearted couple, Mr. and Mrs. Ivanov, who have dedicated their lives to providing love and support to children in need. They have fostered many children over the years, creating a nurturing environment where everyone feels like a part of a big, loving family.
Mrs. Ivanov, Natalia, has always had a deep and caring connection with animals. From a young age, she would spend her free time exploring nature and observing the fascinating behavior of animals in their natural habitats. She would often rescue injured or abandoned animals, nursing them back to health with love and dedication. As Natalia grew older, her passion for animals only intensified. She became actively involved in animal welfare organizations, working tirelessly to raise awareness about animal rights and advocating for their well-being.
Natalia’s passion for animals has had a profound influence on Takuma. Growing up he witnessed Natalia’s unwavering commitment to animal welfare, and it inspired him to follow her footsteps. Together, they have embarked on various animal rescue missions, volunteered at local shelters, and even fostered animals in need of a loving home.
Not only Natalia had influence on Takuma. Mr. Ivanov, Alexei, envisioned himself traveling to breathtaking destinations, documenting his experiences through captivating stories, stunning photographs, and engaging videos. He immerses himself in local communities, participates in cultural activities, and builds connections with people he meets along the way. It’s a lifestyle that allows him to share his extroverted nature with Takuma.
Soon enough, Takuma reached the age of twelve. A week after his birthday, Alexei fell ill and had to be taken care of 24/7. Unfortunately that meant that he had to find other foster parents. Takuma had a hard time accepting the fact he would never see the Ivanov family again, but he had to move on.
He spent a few weeks in the orphanage before being placed in a new home.
[Chapter Two: A Never Ending Memory]
Takuma was placed with the Dubois family in France. Mr. and Mrs. Dubois were a warm and loving couple who welcomed Takuma with open arms. They had a foster daughter named Camille, who became his foster sibling.
This was the place where Takuma’s love for football and sports began. Living in France, a country known for its passion for football, he was exposed to the sport. Mr. Dubois, a fanatical football fan, would often take Takuma to local matches and play football with him in the backyard. This sparked Takuma’s interest in the game, and he quickly fell in love with the sport. He joined a local youth football team and dedicated himself to improving his skills on the field.
Takuma’s interests didn’t stop at football. He also developed a fascination with interior designing. It all began when Mrs. Dubois, who had a flair for decorating, involved Takuma in redecorating their home. He was captivated by the way colors, furniture, and accessories could transform a place. He spent hours researching interior design concepts, studying different styles, and experimenting with rearranging furniture in his own room. The Dubois family fully supported his passion, providing him with art supplies and books on design to nurture his talent.
Takuma had a peaceful and humble life until he turned sixteen. His foster parents had a contract only for four years, making Takuma have to leave France. He wanted to pursue his dream of becoming a veterinarian, so he decided to move to Karakura, Japan where he had the opportunity for a good education.
[Chapter Three: The Start of a Dream Come True]
Moving to Karakura, Japan was the best decision Takuma ever made in his life. He got into a good school, with good education and got adopted by a loving professor in the Sanbuono family, providing guidance and support throughout his formative years. The Sanbuono family is a rather big family, making Takuma feel at home right away. They encouraged his curiosity and thirst for knowledge, instilling in him a love for learning and exploration. Under their guidance, he developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the world around him.
During his high school years, he began to notice that he felt differently towards certain individuals. While his friends were talking about romantic attraction to the opposite gender, he found himself experiencing a different kind of attraction. It was during this time that he started to question his own feelings and explore his identity.
As he started to educate himself, he discovered that he identified as homosexual. This realization brought a mix of emotions - relief, confusion, and excitement. It was a journey of self-discovery that he embarked upon with courage and self-acceptance.
After completing his high school education with flying colors, he knew he wanted to dedicate his life to helping animals. With the unwavering support of his adopted family, he set his sights on college. He pursued a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Sciences, immersing himself in the study of animal health and welfare.
But his thirst for knowledge didn't stop there. Driven by his passion and desire to make a significant impact in the field, he continued his education and embarked on a challenging journey to obtain a PhD in Veterinary Sciences. The rigorous academic path pushed him to his limits, but his determination and love for animals kept him going.
Throughout his college years, he not only excelled in his studies but also actively participated in research projects and internships. These experiences allowed him to gain valuable hands-on experience, further honing his skills and expanding his knowledge.
At the age of Twenty-seven, he graduated. As of today, Takuma stays consistent with focusing on exercise. He maintains a healthy lifestyle as he nourishes his body with vitamins and needed nutrients daily. Takuma still spends his time practicing his skills in football, staying fit.
SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY

(Ensure this is appropriate to the position you have chosen)

Takuma's medical specialty is in Veterinary Medicine. He always had a talent in reading an animal's body language, knowing it's their key way to communicate. He strongly believes that an animal's life is as precious as a human's, especially pets. Despite studying all kinds of biology (plant, human, animal, etc.), he seemed to enjoy animals the most. Takuma hates to see animals suffer and is confident that he can help animals of all types.

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique?
Photos:

Physical:
Takuma Ryobe Sanbuono stood a decent 5'6, most of his height being his legs rather than torso. Having longer legs allows Takuma to perform well in his athletic hobbies and other fast pace jobs. He remains fit and healthy for many reasons, some being wanting to live as long as possible, being able to keep up with others, and being able to be reliable when others need help. When it comes to hair, his hair cuts last longer than the average guy. He brushes daily, yet his hair remains full of curls. He had dyed his naturally light brown hair a bright g****-colored purple. It's vibrant, but he knows a lot of other people who dye their hair as well in Karakura. Takuma carries a cheerful attitude with him where ever he goes, and his eyes adorn a light purply gray glint to them. His complexation is clean, often spending hundreds a month on skincare products. Curly hair is hard to keep up, and the right products really make a difference in keeping it healthy and full. However, Takuma's vibrant nature doesn't stop at his facial features, but it also expands to his fashion choices. For as long as he remembers, Takuma enjoys wearing bright colored clothes to match well with his bright purple hair and confident smile. Sometimes he even wears hair accessories such as bows to give a little flair. When it comes to his voice, he keeps it in a consistent tone depending on his environment. For example, when he's talking to his peers, he often speaks in a cheerful pitch, but when he's dealing with more serious, his voice gets lower. When he deals with healthy animals, mainly pets like cats and dogs, he talks in a squeaky tone as any other pet owner does when in proximity. With sicker animals, he tends to keep a calm and consistent tone as not to scare the animal.
Personality and Digging Deeper:
When it comes to personality, Takuma carries a chorismic charm to him. Being a social extrovert, Takuma gets along with everyone he meets. He tends to have a large circle of friends rather than a single one. Some people he finds himself closer too, but he does his best to get to know everyone he comes across. Takuma takes part in a plethora of activities and when he commits to it, he gives it his all. First of all, Takuma loves to stay physical. At first it was the enjoyment of the sport in general, only playing games for fun, but as he shifted into high school, he began pushing himself more in order to stay healthy as well. Despite still being young at 29, he still gets asked about his future. His desire to stay physically active stems from his fear of his body letting him down, causing him to retire. Takuma loves working with animals and his wish is to keep it up as long as possible. Football is his go-to sport, but he also enjoys the beach. Despite having a fear of slimy and rubbery creatures, such as stingrays, Takuma still showed up and surfed every summer he could. He's not a professional, but he enjoys the adrenaline the smooth waves and quick breeze would cause. However, Takuma is heavily cautious when it comes to riptides. Another hobby he enjoys is photography. Small world perspective to be specific. Takuma enjoyed to angle his camera lens real low tilting it up ever so slightly. Whether it was next to an insect or under a small mushroom, Takuma enjoyed capturing the world in different perspectives. Takuma also found a love in interior design and was able to partake in helping other people with their new, empty apartments. His favorite art medium is whiteboards. When drawing out ideas and blueprints, white boards are reliable and smooth as can be.
Work-Life:
When it comes to professionalism, Takuma tends to dress well. The two jobs he had previously both involved with working alongside animals. This gave him plenty of time to get used to the odd behaviors animals may have. His memory is described as above average, remembering names and small details about things others tell him. He uses the good memory to memorize the different types of body language animal show. For example, when cats wag or flick their tails, it means they're irritated rather than excited. Takuma applies his learned knowledge throughout his careers. He's patient and calm and takes his time when it comes to perfection. He only wants the best in his work and is willing to do anything to get proper care to his patients. Overall, Takuma isn't planning on leaving his desired work environment, next to animals, anytime soon.

How does your character act on and off duty?
When on duty, Takuma's focus is to stay on track and care for animals of all types. He knows that time cannot be wasted when it comes to the medical field. His posture is well, assuring he wouldn't have any neck or back problems, especially when doing paperwork and making appointments via computer. He makes sure to collaborate with co-workers, asking questions and getting a second opinion if needed. When busy, Takuma's focus is treating the most severe cases first to ensure the best most fair care. He always remains calm and makes sure to keep a steady yet fast pace. He rushes to stabilize patient's conditions and always has his medical kit when needed. He's an athletic guy, making him good at being efficient and getting what he needs to start procedures. When slow, Takuma would check in patients quickly, happy to have something to do. He may even help his co-workers out if necessary, doing things like fetching equipment, checking in patients, and whatever else he's allowed to do. He may even take an occasional break to eat a snack and recharge.
Personality-wise, Takuma is able to use his calm yet happy demeanor to assure owners they have the best care with this hospital. He uses his charismatic charm and bright style to express his friendliness and confidence. He remains professional but will also hold small conversations to owners about their pets when he has time (such as giving the pet a physical exam) or if he needs more information about lifestyle and former health scares. He gets along well with an animal's owner and earns trust and respect when he handles their beloved family member with respect and gentleness. When it comes to animals without owners, Takuma tends to be more strict, focusing on being able to get them back to health and release them back where they belong in the wild. Wild animals may be harder to control and aggressive or shy in nature, so Takuma hopes to treat the mas soon as possible so they
When off duty, Takuma's number one priority is friends and family. He enjoys being around his many siblings and his friends who he's bonded with over the years. He always takes opportunities to meet new people as well. His other priorities are self care, assuring he's at his best when working as a Vet. He loves football and enjoys playing at the park with anyone who is willing to join. He enjoys interior designing and often would change up his apartment's look to get the desired aesthetic he enjoys most at the time. He rarely stays home by himself and is always seen either at the hospital or out and about in Karakura. In the summers, he loves to surf at the beach.
Does your character function better on their own or with others?
Being an extrovert, Takuma tends to function well with others as opposed to by himself. He's good at socializing and finds it to be stress reducing. He enjoys working with other co-workers in order to get on the same page and take over their shifts when they're out. Takuma values other people's opinions and isn't afraid to ask questions to assure the best care for patients.
What plans does your character have for the future?
When it comes to the future, Takuma is content to work at the hospital for a majority of his life. He finds helping animals to be his life's purpose and is willing to put in everything he's got as long as his body lets him. He keeps himself busy outside of work exercising and challenging his creativity to be able to keep himself healthy and live a long life. When it comes to retirement, he places the thought of it in the back of his mind. He plans to stay in the medical field for as long as possible.
Takuma hopes to one day have a family of his own. His desire is to find a partner and to adopt a child in need, preferably an older kid since he himself knew that teens are drastically less likely to be adopted. He lived through a lot in the system and hopes to one day change a child's life for good. He also focuses on having pets of his own and to teach those he knows about animal care to inspire them to get into the field as well.
Overall, Takuma is very passionate about veterinary care and hopes to make a difference throughout his whole life.
How is your character perceived by others? How does it contrast with their perception of themself?
When it comes to the first impression, Takuma may seem like the rambunctious and intimidating type. As a social extrovert, Takuma finds joy in socializing with others, including strangers. Sometimes he may come across introverts who would rather keep to themselves. However, when Takuma meets them, usually approaching them first, he uses his charm to bring out the inner version of others. He's fast paced and always energetic, and when Takuma is out socializing with them, he's always in his bubbly mood.
However, the expectations Takuma has on himself to remain positive for others can wear him down at times. He sometimes wonders if he has time for himself when he gives his all to those around him. But Takuma doesn't think about it to hard since he keeps himself busy.
The connection with animals he possesses is considered special. An impressive skill, some would say. Takuma takes pride in this, fully expanding his potential by working hard towards his doctorate to soon obtain a stable career in animal care.
