Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
Teachers are important to the community because the entire server is based around the school experience, hence the name SchoolRP. The School Faction wouldn’t work without the teachers, professors, and school workers. Teachers help new students, showing them how the server works and helping them progress in their role-play journeys. They also host interactive and interesting classes.
Since official exams only happen once or twice every year, it can be difficult to get into college. So Teachers give homework for each class as another way for students to earn credits, when a student earns 50 education credits they can access the /graduate command which will allow their character to age up and join the Karakura College. Lastly, teachers help enforce school rules, introduce realism to the server, and encourage all players to further interact within the school.
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?:
Yes
Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?:
Yes
What is your motivation for becoming a Teacher?:
I would like to become a History Teacher on SchoolRP because I have yet to see a history teacher who teaches about the server’s history, and when I first started on this server, I would have loved to be exposed to a class or multiple classes where I learned about the server. Perhaps a history teacher could teach about the island's history or how the school came to be. So instead of hoping that someone would soon teach about Karakura’s history, I decided to apply for the position when I saw it was open. I’m deeply invested in the server’s lore and have spent quite some time reading and taking the information in. I am not only fascinated by the lore, but I want to make sure that new players and old ones know about it. The Lore team is incredibly talented, and I think it would be great if a teacher could teach history about Karakura, about the server.
Another reason I want to become a teacher is that I think I can be incredibly active. I am currently a lawyer, and I rarely play when it's school time because our main clientele are students, and, because they're in school, government workers don’t really work during school time. This means I feel like, instead of doing nothing during these hours, I could be spending time teaching others and learning more about the server’s history! Finally, I have always been interested in the school’s factions and have been striving to integrate into one of them. I haven’t applied to any other faction because I didn’t think any of the positions actually interested me. I have been wanting to apply to become a history teacher, but there were no open slots, so when I saw one open, I decided to try and apply.
In-Character Section
What's your character's full name?:
Ryōsuke Hatake Muhito
What is your character's age?:
25 years old
What is your preferred subject to teach?:
History
Describe your character:
The teacher’s soft golden gaze would sweep around the room. Ryōsuke would smile softly as his maroon hair reflected the sun. A streak of crimson would be found in his hair. His porcelain skin would shine under the sun, and a pimple would be found on his right cheek. The male was often seen wearing business-casual attire. His presence would radiate kindness and a kind of softness that would be delightful; to enhance this effect, a smell of dark roses would also come from him. When Ryōsuke speaks, people listen, not because they are scared but because they respect his knowledge of the island’s history. He would often be found helping students around the school and guiding them to their next destinations. What makes this individual unique is his attention to detail and his care for those around him. If a student were found being bullied, he would immediately step in and help, or if he witnessed a co-worker calling a student dumb, he would act immediately. Ryōsuke’s dream is to excel at the subject he teaches and to become the kind of teacher who inspired him to follow in those footsteps.
Roleplay Scenarios
A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
If a student were found struggling in Ryōsuke’s class, the gentle giant would approach the individual with care and softly explain the subject once more, while the student’s peers completed an assignment he would have given them. Of course, Ryōsuke would also adjust his wording to better accommodate the student and help them understand more easily. Ultimately, if that wouldn’t help, he would ask the student to come see him at the end of class and go over in detail exactly what he hadn’t understood. Finally, to better prepare for these types of situations, Ryōsuke would have a piece of paper ready for each lesson plan that recapitulates the entire lesson more simply. This would help students whilst they are completing homework, and those who don’t understand the lesson content.
A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
A soft frown would form on the male’s forehead. Ryōsuke would walk towards the student and ask why they were disrupting his class. The answer would be important to him because if they find his subject uninteresting, he would try to accommodate them and make it more interactive. He strives to ensure students understand what he is teaching. Now, if the students are simply being disruptive because they wish to be, he would politely ask them to stop, and if he caught them being disruptive again, he would remove them from his class. Not understanding a subject is fine, but disrupting the students around you because you don’t understand is unacceptable for Ryōsuke.
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
THE HEIST:
Ryōsuke would shortly explain to the class about the Gininkan Heist: how, years ago, Karakura's noble families kept their treasures in a vault called the Gininkan. The ancestors of the non-noble families helped fill the vault with all its riches, but those families got nothing, whilst the noble families kept everything. Then the history teacher would explain to the students that in 1965, the Masuo were in charge of the Regional Izu Bank of Masuo, and one day miscreants decided to rob it. The news called them criminals, and ultimately, the influential noble families managed to put that incident behind them, but everyone remembers how the robbery tarnished the Masuo family name. The history teacher would divide the class into 2 roles: Miscreants and Historians. Ryōsuke asks them to find the truth using the historical lesson: were the miscreants right or wrong? During the debate, he would introduce letters that proved the Masuo family had blackmailed governors. Based on all the historical facts, they must present their argument and determine whether the miscreants were criminals or heroes.
THE EXPLOSION:
The young historian would speak softly and clearly as he explained the following story. "Long ago, in 1598. The island of Karakura opened mines in the Ochiba Forest. The mines held wealth beyond anyone's imagination. A group took control of the mines, the Kassei-Ka. They used cheap equipment, cut wages, and then the mines became a territory for gangs to control; endless fights broke out deep underground. One day, a fire raged through Ochiba, the city panicked, and in the middle of the chaos, a small group of delinquents found their way into the mines. The members of the group planted the C4, reassured by their leader that he knew what he was doing. It turned out that he did not. An explosion was heard across the city, which collapsed the entrance. Upon the discovery of the status of the mine, civilians heard screams down below. For two nights, the civilians slept in their beds in terror of the screams, then they stopped. Only one survived, now that the mines have reopened, some people say you can still hear the screams." Ryōsuke smiled as he saw his students listen in delight. He then spoke again, instructing his students: "Okay, students, now I want you guys to split up into four groups and try to find out what exactly happened down in those mines."
