Proposal for a Karakura Spartans Dodgeball Team

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUGGEST OR MENTION:
I would like to ask for you to take a moment to read for a second before going into instant denial of the idea. I am willing to put time and money into the idea if there is a dodgeball team created for the Spartans, but that's not why I think it should be added.
To my understanding, Banter and any other members of his college faction who made the say on this had declared that dodgeball is “not a real sport” which is why the college faction had made the original decision to decline the idea of a second dodgeball team. However dodgeball is in fact a real sport, and here’s why. Keep in mind that this is all my opinion and thoughts and so if I say something that seems rude my intent is not to be disrespectful.

First of all, there is both the USA and National dodgeball league, composed of professional dodgeball teams. I did my research into it and here’s what I have found and quoted from within the text.
“The National Dodgeball League (NDL) is a professional dodgeball league in the United States. The league is composed of 24 professional teams. In addition to professional dodgeball, the NDL hosts the annual mature Dodgeball World Championship. Prior DWC tournaments have included teams from Canada, United Kingdom, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia.”

This being said as you can see the National dodgeball league is also composed of teams from Japan, and to my knowledge, that is where Karakura takes place.
There are worldwide matches revolving around dodgeball teams, AND teams do exist within schools all around the world. Here's a list of existing college dodgeball teams for you; http://ncdadodgeball.com/about

Doing my research I found that dodgeball is in fact categorized as a real sport,
Back in 2017, The Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), the umbrella organization for all Olympic and non-Olympic sports.
It officially recognized dodgeball as a sport. It is being considered to become a part of the Olympics!

My second argument to make about something like this is that what is the real point of having a high school team without the iconic spartan rivalry? I understand the second team is not a REQUIREMENT but I think the idea should be supported.
There is no real way to hype up the sport and get people interested without competition in my opinion. I mean I understand we can create out of school teams, but I think it brings more attention to it when you have the two mainstream teams.

If you're interested in looking into the sources where I found your information I'm more than happy to share that with you too:

While writing this proposal I started to gain a list of people willing to support if not play on the team. Although 10 people within a community of 500+ players is not a lot if I told you that 10 out of the 10 other people I asked all said they would support it would that surprise you? I’m sure if given the chance and given the time I could come up with a list of 50+ active people willing to support the team. It doesn't need to be a popular sport, but why put it in the game if there aren't going to be teams for it?

noooooot every sport needs to be a sports teammmmmm,................ like dodgeball
What's the point of having a high school team if there isn't going to be a college team though? At that point, you can just make the claim that the plugin is dead and taking up space that could be put to better use since the server already struggles to run from time to time. At what point do you just remove the plugin because of that??

Not exactly super duper needed, the plugin had its days and the sports team over on the high school side could be seen as a "club". College one doesn't really need to happen

If they're a club why do they have sports team tags then?
You could see it as a club is what I said, not that it's literally a club

Like Evan said, there doesn't have to be a college team for it. The plugin significantly died, it had its days and those days have ended. It's really up to the SLT and 6 to have a college team, but it's overall just not needed. The sports team now should be transferred over to being a club instead

I don't see how Dodgeball isn't considered a sport. It is essentially volleyball except the thing it cannot hit is your own body - rather then the floor. There is skill involved in Dodgeball, and if you can consider TRACK a sport then I don't see why Dodgeball is not given the same respect.

Yeah, I'd happily sacrifice the College Track Team for a College Dodgeball Team. I don't know how running is a sport. I literally run all the time, am I an athlete now?

yet track and field is a sport widely recognized and played at huge sports events like the Olympics and dodgeball is something you do in PE class

'i dont see how swimming is a sport. i move in water, am i an athlete now?' 'i dont see how football is a sport. i can kick a ball into a goal, am i an athlete now?'

I dont even see why or how track got dragged into this as its quite obviously way more of a popular sport than dodgeball (which i wouldnt consider a sport to begin with)

Your argument is based around how popular the sport is? That is a really low place.

Dodgeball does require skill, energy, reflexes, good throwing skills - hell dodging is a hard skill in it of itself, the reason it isnt in the Olympics is because the peak in which you can be the very best in it is low, the learning curve is lower because the sport is simple; being simple makes it less popular however in no way is it NOT a sport. Again I dont see OOC popularity should matter. Im pretty sure in game a game of basketball would be more fun to play then a 100m sprint and that is why it entered the discussion. Track is the lowest the bar has been set and Dodgeball easily fits into that line. Hell I would argue Track is easier as a large percent of the playerbase has 100% speed anyways - making dodgeball the more competitive sport.

It just seems unfounded that it shouldn't be given the same recognition.

i seriously do not see the point in debating this anymore, speaking of its popularity on the server itself, i've seen the high school team itself getting smaller and smaller, a college team would just be small and inactive, yeah SURE. we have all of these people agreeing it should be a thing, but half of them are already ON teams. the team would be small and inactive - hence the reason why banter has said what seems like several times now that a college dodgeball team will never be a thing

Dodgeball is also a really quick sport and like- when I play it on the server I’m done within 2 minutes. . . To be completely honest, it’s a useless plugin.

A little late to the topic, but I can give a small input.

I don't like how this topic started with the definition or what is and isn't a sport - it sounds like this suggestion will just end up in semantics and nothing will get done. The conversation should be about if having a College Dodgeball team as a sport would provide utility to the server to help create a better Roleplay experience for the Players! An example of this utility being implemented is when Im6 created Rule 1 in the General rules which states:

1. ALL highschool/college students alongside staff must be on school grounds during school hours & carry out their assigned tasks / duties whilst being there, corresponding to the clock.

To end, this conversation shouldn't be about semantics or 'realism' but rather a topic on if we should implement a suggestion and look at the pros and cons of implementing this suggestion. These should be things like would this suggestion provide a net benefit to the server, players, and the community overall? Are there any negatives, if so what negatives will there be?
