If such a day arrives that SRP will be rebranded to have a new setting, Karakura better have exploded itself j/

Coming from a newer players perspective, one of the things about this server that appealed to me was the setting in Japan, the incredibly detailed lore, etc. I think a rebrand would create far more chaos and work than needed.

Lots and lots of work. This wouldnt only change the setting but lore players and staff have placed a shit tone of time in. A change this big should not be made. And i agree, Karakura happening in japan is also an interesting factor that brings people. . Changing it wont do anything to help apart from bringing a lot of work for every team. Nothing should be changed just because players dont play only Japanese characters and theres a lot of variety.

-1 making karakura more japanese would be the ideal approach, as it is also the approach the building team and lore team have been taking lately. SRP map is old and i believe some strutures look out of place, maybe even ugly. However, the building team has been doing an excellent rework lately in making karakura feel more lika japanese but western town. There is a lot of work ahead but it is the most easy and efficient solution.

+1 i agree and want to be different from everyone else

USA is a great nation i really think it'd be great to have a roleplay there ha ha or europe let's put it in europe we dont need a specific country just europe like what if we sell red wine and the top of the map has polar bears thatd be really cool heheh

in case sarcasm is a new concept to you im being very satire this is a big -1 for reasons ppl have already said xoxo

The Japanese-inspired setting is one of SchoolRP’s greatest marketing strengths - it’s like a magnet for weebs, nerds, and anyone who thrives on cringe, which, honestly, (.づ◡﹏◡)づ. I absolutely cherish.

Having a new area would be fun as well add more to roleplay possibilities but the amount of time to take to make this as a whole is not worth it, the builds, bug fixes and coding everything will take LOTS of time, as well the main island is already huge and we are getting new updates on areas that are outdated.

some of you guys are terrible at playing asian characters and misrepresentation of japanese (and asian) values and culture as a whole annoys me to the bone and I feel like a location like the US would be better for that reason as most people are more familiar w the culture and, lets be honest here, it would be hard to get wrong. as an americaboo myself I support the americanization of everything, I would love to roleplay my character going to in and out burger and treat service workers horribly and wear uggs and go "okay, no more Mr nice guy" before i obliterate someone during gang roleplay.

do I think we should move now? no lol we're too deep into karakuramaxxing I fear, plus isn't it like canon that karakura is practically its own separate entity from japan? like, it's under japanese government but they have their own rules and values or sumn idk its been a while. plus, the amount of foreigners would be a reason for the westernization. its not uncommon for asian countries to detatch from old cultures. it's happening here in jakarta, in bali, some parts of korea, thailand, etc.

Despite some good points from others, I also don't think there will be a new map. The Karakura map has been around for years and has been getting massive changes to buildings, whole sections of the map and a variety of different things. Additionally, people have grown attached to Karakura with many putting their hardwork into living out their lives there, for a new map to take that all away would be a real kick in the ass for people who have spent years on Karakura, collecting memorabilia from days long passed that would all go away with a new map rebrand. To this day, it is still being updated so having a new map currently would render all of staffs hard work in updating Karakura meaningless for it to be replaced with another map.

There is a possibility for a new map in the future, but not any time soon, and probably not until a newer generation of players come to play on the server.

If we were at the beginning of SRP where the setting didn’t have lore and events already implemented then there wouldn’t be a problem relocating the location of the server. However, since Karakura has so much lore already it won’t work because you’d be throwing away all the hard work from the community. Especially the staff members, lore, and event committees. Plus if this somehow happened you’d be waiting months to even a year or more until the new map was made. Which won’t happen. -1

To put it simply Karakura has been based off of Japan for literally YEARS! Taking that all away just to make it "more American" not only makes no sense but would remove all the hard work people have put into the server these last years. If you want to be in a westernized (is that the right word) rp server, then I'm sure you can find one!

At the point of relocating all the way to America, it would be easier to make another RP server.

SRPers are, by and large, unbelievably bad at creating and playing Japanese characters. That said, the work done on lore by both the team and everyone else actively writing in Karakura as a setting shouldn't be so suddenly made null and void, and I do think the current setting is apart of the appeal to SRP, and has contributed to its success.
