hugs you one character i dont think ive seen is uhmmmmmmmmmmnnn Ryousetsu Tachitsu or Tori Saiky (I love them both)
I'm actually surprised to have seen Atlas Edgeworth (my character) get mentioned in here, he isn't exactly what I'd normally call a popular or well known character at least anymore. He has only been an EMS worker (my only EMS char while I was EMS) before retiring and becoming a shopkeeper, though I think most know him from when I achieved PhD on him as it was one of the first big events of presentations for PhD projects or from his time as EMS.
Though majority of characters I can think of have already been mentioned here are a few that haven't that come to mind
- Kaede Saiky
She's the current lady of the Saiky family and was the vice-principle though now currently the dean within SLT.
- Akihisa Akihito
Ex-Detective Chief Inspector for KPD, they as a whole were in KPD for two years and was DCI for a year before Will's sad departure from KPD.
- Zahara Saiky
Was a medical professor at Karakura community college for awhile after retiring from working (I think majority of her work life ICly, oocly I know Eva was EMS for awhile on her) as EMS.
- Avery Asogi
Goemon's wife as many know her, but she was also the first ever Vice Governor in Karakura.
- Bao Koji
While most now if they went digging would find more negative marks from him as he was held to trial and arrested (Saeko's trial that was mentioned before), he was a governor within Karakura and before his eventual arrest he was a very popular(mostly out of fear to my knowledge) and well known character due to his very active engagement with the town and especially his family. Even now sometimes he's seen roaming around Karakura still 'checking in' with people around town.
I might add more names later but this is who I can think of for now.

Umeko Otori Kaeda - Ex-matriarch of Otori and Kaeda, daughter of Tetsuya Otori and Atsumi Otori (Aka the mayor and a KPD lieutenant of the Otori corruption)!
Koizumi Saiky - The Viper child of Saiky. She's often known for doing things opposite the typical beliefs and has done many things to oppose the general public of Karakura (I love her).
Alice Schwarz - The adoptive child of Akari Schwarz and Nao Takeishi, who hate each other. She's the blood child of a notorious cult in Karakura and has lived to deal with a curse placed upon her. She is of a long Karakuran noble lineage.
Calico O'Sullivan - A woman of many, many backgrounds. She's sustained her family through many hardships with the aid of her sister and close brother, Celeste and Ace O'Sullivan. Somehow, from major crime aid to NOW KPD officer, she continues to spread her influence!
