What's your Minecraft Username?: CTC0
What's the title of your suggestion?: Extra Faction! Or simply a faction within a faction.
What's your suggestion?:
My suggestion is to add a Fire Department faction, or at least merge it with another already existing faction, like EMS for example.
Why do we need an extra faction?
We don't necessarily NEED one, but it would make sense in this case. Yes, I know. "Why did you suggest it if you ADMIT we don't NEED one?!?!??!?" relax, I'll get to that. Below are some images of a fire alarm and the device to sound the fire alarm, what is the point in having them there if there is no fire department? Just for realism? It doesn't make much sense. Then there's this little detail, why have fire alarms and no tsunami sirens around? Karakura is in tsunami territory, it's a regular enough occurrence for it to be just as, if not more normal than fire alarms.

We already have too many factions, no one would apply
I bet there would be plenty of people applying, at the very least to gain adult roles eventually and maybe fall in love with gaining Yen while being an adult? We can make this argument with every faction if they didn't exist before, yet they exist because they have a function, and this one can have a function too.
There's no point in having a fire department, there's never any fires, faction members will be bored.
1. Maybe there isn't a point in having a fire department, but we'll never know unless we at least try it out.
2. There are some fires on rare occasions (events), but fire departments handle more than just fires, they rescue cats from trees, check gas safety in SCHOOL buildings and peoples' homes, they educate students on some days about fire safety and what to do if a fire was to ever occur (remember that when you were in school?). a Fire Department could enable DYNAMIC RP EVENTS: controlled fires, rescue operations, fire safety drills at the school, etc.
3. Fire department factions will only be bored if the event faction allow it (fire wise), people can call the fire department on many occasions like I said above, and we also get some cool uniform making opportunities. Besides, aren't those shrine people bored? How come they have their own faction?
Are you saying you want to add an entire faction JUST so the school fire alarms make sense??
Well, yes and no. It doesn't have to be an entire faction if staff deems it too difficult to add, it can just be a sort of addition to an already existing faction. In another roleplay server I used to be a part of, EMS and Fire Departments were combined, simply because their jobs were so similar and they ended up working together anyway. Fire fighters also were regularly in charge of driving ambulances (just think of the possibilities if EMS were all offline).
That will just be more work for modelers to make new vehicles and equipment
Yes it would, which is a good thing since they're paid to do that, it'll help them out. They could design vehicles, station signs, fire safety posters, hydrants, etc.
If Police and EMS already do fire fighting similar tasks/jobs, why do we need to add a fire department?
The simple answer to this is structure and realism. While KPD and EMS already cover rescue operations, the current system can feel a bit chaotic, everything funnels through KPD, even when the task might realistically fall to someone else.
Yes it's work, but it'll be more real and SRP has been working on realism as it's main focus anyway, so why not add a fire department? Personally, given SRP's commitment to realism, it feels like a natural addition. With the things that KPD does already, it can be a shared duty, such as rescues (example) if one person needed rescuing, that would be the fire fighter's job to save them, the KPD's job to keep citizens away and deal with legal aspects of it, and EMS's job to treat injured people after the rescue.
The way it is right now with KPD doing everything seems a little chaotic and disorganized, this just seems to flow better in my opinion. This would also make emergency RP scenes more structured and dynamic, rather than placing every responsibility onto one group.
Where would we even put a building for it?
Great question! There are a few places that aren't used that much, such as; left of the hospital (your left, when you're facing it), somewhere near the church (most likely in the forest connecting to a road), or have builders redesign an entire area again.
TL;DR
Suggesting a Fire Department faction (or EMS merge) to match the in-game fire alarms and boost realism. It would allow new RP opportunities like fire drills, rescue events, and safety inspections without needing constant fires to stay active.
How will this benefit the server and community?:
Edit: Already explained this point above, apologies for the duplicate!
IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE: Please keep replies civil, my last suggestion thread got locked due to unrelated arguments. Thanks for your understanding!
