Describe your activity:

I have been constantly active on SRP for the past 4+ years; I have a ton of knowledge when it comes to roleplay. I have been involved mostly in JockRP for the past year and a half, this includes multiple different teams and a massive amount of detailrp when it really comes down to it. I have been in touch with GangRP as well, which was one of my starting points on this server, which shows I have been across multiple different sides of roleplay and detailing aspects, along with different communities.

Keep in mind I am applying on my main account; this will be the only account I play on as well from now on, so all my time will be pretty much dedicated to this account and this character if accepted.

I am fully active on SRP, playing between 4-5 hours daily. I do have a part-time job working a few hours daily as well, which can get in the way of training if the timing is wrong. I will say I do wake up quite early every morning and go to sleep very late as well; my activity is very constant, and I am free for the majority of the day, as I have graduated highschool as well, so I am constantly active now.

What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:

I feel like storytelling/reporter has always been an interest of mine and an occasional pastime for me since I joined. I never applied for Reporter because I felt like it would be a little too difficult for me to get in since I was younger at the time. I enjoy the whole aspect around reporters, being on the scene of something crazy; it reminds me of something from a movie and overall is very interesting to me. The reporter faction is slightly smaller than the others, and I feel like it is the most creative freedom and opportunity.

This role seems like the perfect fit for me and for the skills I've developed over time. I like the aspect of creating my own type of newspaper board, doing interviews, and writing headlines. I also like how most of the reports are posted on the forums, which can really show a great history and events on the server.

A reporter also has a vast amount of creative freedom involved, because none of it is really one-dimensional and has a ton of different things you can report about and just create. I feel like a reporter has a large amount of roleplay as well, due to the interviews, the town announcements, and news reports, which can lead to some good IC lore as well.

Also, Community impact plays a big part in my motivation on top of what I listed before this, giving people a voice, looking into issues that a lot of people may have in the city.

I don't have any specific applications for teams, since they have all been done icly, but I have been a part of pretty much all of the teams.


Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:

Yes! I have a fairly strong background when it comes to writing stories, poems, various school-related things, as I took Journalism for two semesters in high school, so I know a fair amount about structure and proper writing skills. I will say RP has really helped with writing because of the amount of things that can be detailed; I do enjoy getting into as much DetailRP and conversation as I can. Now I wouldn't consider myself a professional writer, but I do have a good grasp of how to properly write and I genuinely enjoy writing and I am always looking to improve.

When it comes to writing, I can take criticism very well to help improve any sort of issues and overall better myself when necessary. I do like getting feedback on certain things, like something I could add or remove to make me a better writer or storyteller in general. Overall, I would say I have a very positive relationship with writing, and I would like to be in the reporter faction as another way to hone that.

Yes, of course, I will fully follow the rules provided to me.

Why should we accept you over others?:

I should be accepted because I have a very genuine interest in the role, and I have fully envisioned what I want to do and how I would approach it. I believe I would bring a great amount of consistency to the position/faction. I am mostly willing to learn, get feedback, and improve as I gain experience, rather than expecting myself to be perfect from the start. I will, of course, be willing to actively look for stories, interact with different players, attend events, and put time into performing to the best of my ability.

I am highly confident in my ability to adapt to this role. I know how I will fit within this role, and I do ask for help, and . I also ask for help when necessary, and I don't mind criticism because it makes me a better person overall. I do know this type of faction relies on something like that to make everything the best it can be. I also do have experience with using Canva, and I am also continuing to get better at doing it.

Mostly, I will take the opportunity seriously and fully stay active and contribute to the faction instead of treating the role as just any other role on the server.

Summarise what you imagine work as a reporter is:

I imagine working as a reporter is something like being involved in the community, finding an interest, building and creating a story around a topic, and gathering sources to make it come to life. I would expect a reporter to attend pretty much every event held by the server, conduct interviews, take some photos, and speak with people involved in the scenario. Overall, I see the reporter role as someone who has good communication skills, can speak well in different scenarios, can pull themselves out of some deep, sticky situations whilst being professional and having the willingness to stay on track of things.

I also imagine the role having a large amount of responsibility, like making sure your sources are accurate, everything being properly researched, and making sure everything is fair and neutral. I also believe that a reporter should always be professional, keeping it classy, and on topic, and making sure to treat everyone with respect and gratitude. Ultimately, I imagine a reporter being a trustworthy source and being someone the city can rely on to get everything out there!

Zel Fuji walked into the room. He placed his black briefcase down before pulling out the wooden chair. He would then take a seat, adjusting it beneath him before running a hand through his hair and tidying it into place so his hair was perfectly parted to the right. He looked well-kept and very professional. He then carefully lifted his camera hanging around his neck, gently setting it down on the table in front of him.

"My name is Zel Fuji"

He said, placing his hands on his lap.

Zel would fix his tie, straightening it out before briefly brushing his hand over his shirt to make himself look just that much more presentable. He then placed his hands on his lap.

"I just turned 26 years old this past June"

Past job/work experience:

Adjusted his nice jet black coat cuff, resting an arm on the table, glancing over at his camera sitting on the table.

"I had some very small experience between the ages of 23-25, mostly some light interviewing gigs, developing stories, and I did some photography work as well- This was simply to keep food on the table and gain experience, but now I want to use my work in a more professional field, and that's why I'm applying."

Zel added, reaching into his briefcase and pulling out various past reports he has done; he started by tapping his finger on the first one.

“This report was for petty theft in the last town I studied in, The suspect was gone by the next day- made the story very... interesting to say the least”

Zel said, stuffing the papers back into his briefcase.

"I would say I am quite qualified for this position. I know what I am capable of doing. My goal has been set since I started college."

Eyes flickered; he paused for a moment, taking a long, deep breath..

"I am a lot of things. I am overall a very observant person. I pay very close attention to detail because of my time in college. I would say I am also very creative when it comes down to things, I am very open-minded to new ideas, layouts, and photography. I have a very deep and strong work ethic; I am very persistent and detail-oriented, especially when working on something I am interested in and drawn to. I will say I can sometimes be overly invested in some things, maybe a certain project or headline I am highly interested in. I also do some photography on the side, it is a very big interest of mine. I take all my own photos for my reports as well, which makes it more impactful for myself and makes me invested in the reports."

What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you consider going out of your comfort zone?:

“Anything really, I don't want to limit myself to one particular type of story. If there is something worth pursuing, I will 100% find out about it. ”

Zel took a few moments...

“I'm willing to step into any type of situation, dangerous or not..” Zel paused. “To a certain extent, to get said information, I need to make a solid report. I’m willing to build connections with people of power to get the information I need. I want to cover everything, be included in a little bit of everything here as said before”

Zel added, a large grin covering his face, before sitting up more in his chair, scooting it forward so he could place his arms on the table.

"To add onto what I said before, I have no limits- I am willing to step out of my comfort zone and jump into something I am uncomfortable with. I will achieve this by staying within the community or being one with the community- in fact, I want to know about everything happening. I will build connections with officers, high-ranking members of the community, and be involved in every event or scenario."

What are your expectations for the job?:

"Hmm, well- I expect this job to be very hands-on and challenging of a sort. I expect to work with the best of the best in Karakura, that being said, I would attempt to be one of the best in this company. I am very competitive when it comes down to it."

Taps his finger on his knee; he would then swipe his hair over to the side, running his hand through his jet-black hair, making sure he looks well kept.

"I have done similar work in the past, so I expect it to be similar but something more to adjust to, a little more enticing and just challenging to an extent. I want to be present at major events, speak with witnesses, KPD, members of the public, and piece together the information to give Karakura an accurate account of what happened. "

Took a pause, then glanced over the room around him

"I also hope to improve my skills, such as interviewing, photography, and writing skills. Whilst being on top of this organization. I want to grow as a reporter, but stay within my morals and stay professional whilst doing so "

You would find the newspaper in your mailbox, printed in black and white, the bold headline reading across the front page...

The paper would have detailed concerns surrounding Karakuras infrastructure, the damage to the powerplant, the state of the abandoned apartment block, questions raised by residents regarding the allocation of government funding, and the ongoing housing shortage for bigger families. Alongside the report were eyewitness statements, a path forward for the government, and finally, photos documenting the area.

Zel Fuji clicked on his recorder... You could hear the small machine wind up, making a small, wiry sound. He then paused for a moment, pulling out a pad of paper… he would flip until he found an empty page; he flicked the pen around his fingers, taking a deep breath, looking over at the recorder, making sure everything was on the record, then he spoke

Zel Fuji: “So who am I here with today?”

The Officer would clutch on the cuff of his jacket

[Officer] Ken Red: “I am Officer Ken Red for Karakura and my badge number is K000”

Straightens his uniform slightly, nodding his head for the next question

Zel adjusts the notepad in his hand, offering the officer a polite nod before preparing his pen to take notes.

Zel Fuji: “Can you explain to the readers where this all happened?”

Officer Red started to tap his foot on the ground, it might have been a touchy… subject.

[Officer] Ken Red: “Well, I’m sure everyone knows that answer… It happened at PowerPlant”

He said, looking away from Zel Fuji

Zel clicked his pen down, writing a small note on his pad

Zel Fuji: “Now let's get into the more serious details. How severe was the damage when you first arrived on scene?”

Zel looked up at the officer waiting for a response; he would rest the tip of his pen on the pad of papers.

Ken crossed his arms, making a slight amount of eye contact with Zel

[Officer] Ken Red: “It was pretty severe; the power got cut out for a moment. Obviously, there is a big hole in the wall, the power tower is down, and there is a big hole in street that leads to a drop off into the sewers”

He said, his expression remained calm, but slightly tense because of the issue

Zel jotted down the damage that was dealt at the powerplant, he then took his pen off the notepad, as he looked up at the officer taking a deep breath.

Zel Fuji: “Was anyone detained? Questioned? Any main suspects?”

Ken was visibly tense, he placed his hands on his knees, looking at Zel

[Officer] Ken Red: “No… Unfortunately, they got away within the sewers, but we know who was behind it, and that is confidential; We don't want to put their name out there.”

Ken then looked away at the door he clearly wanted a change of subject.

Zel wrote down on his pad- he wrote down a generous amount, flipping to the next page.

Zel Fuji: “What is the department's main priority? Is it securing the powerplant, protecting the people of Karakura, or something like restoring order?”

Zel clicked his pen down, preparing to write

Ken would respond almost in an instant, still looking at the door

[Officer] Ken Red: “Protecting the civilians came first, though there was none… I dont know why there would be any in a run-down area which is off limits, but civilians are the main priority when it comes to these things. Then we secure”

Zel nodded, jotting down, looking up at the officer frequently

Zel Fuji: “From what was seen, do you think the incident could have been prevented?”

The Officer paused, looking back over at Zel with an eyebrow raised

[Officer] Ken Red: “I’m not sure. It was all very quick and sudden… There are no cameras around there, so I don't think it could have been at the time”

He said, paying closer attention to Zel Fuji

Zel Fuji wrote down a few words, as he looked up at the Officer.

Zel Fuji: “The PowerPlant has already being a subject of concern among residents, do you believe this incident raises questions about how Karakura's infrastructure is being maintained, especially since you said there is little to no protection?"

Ken paused for a moment. He thought a little harder about this question, he then slowly nodded. The last part got his words tied. He knew he couldn't make a mistake.

[Officer] Ken Red “I mean yeah… I think the civilians have the right to ask questions, and I believe it raises valid concerns about the facility's security. However, it's too early to determine whether the lack of protection played a direct role in the incident.”

Zel slowly nods to himself, writing down Ken's response while occasionally glancing upwards

Zel Fuji: "What would need to be established before they can determine whether the poweplants lack of security contributed to the incident? And given this, how about the fact it's not taken care of and abandoned?"

Officer Ken was thrown off by how straightforward Zel was about it, he blurted out that

[Officer] Ken Red "Honestly- I don't think anyone plans on fixing it. It's abandoned, and as far as I'm aware, the city has no intention of restoring it anytime soon"

Zel noticed he had another potential story, different from the original one, he took a note down in his notepad, circling it and putting a sticky note on the page, saving it for a different time. Zel needed to switch the subject; he then said

Zel Fuji: “You mentioned earlier,= something about ‘They.’ Do you know if it was a group? Some sort of Gang? Any of the ones we know of currently?”

The Officer shook his head, replying a few moments later

[Officer] Ken Red: “I don't want to say the name, but it was a group of some gangsters, and we will find them, and they will be detained.”

Zel Fuji nodded, jotting that down, before pausing and placing the pen to his lip... he could tell the officer was slipping up, almost saying too much.

Zel Fuji: “Has the department found anything that would suggest this was part of a larger pattern, or are you currently treating it as an isolated incident? “

Ken would place his hands on his belt.

[Officer] Ken Red: “At this time, we haven't found anything that would directly connect this incident to any previous cases. We are still working on the situation, here at KPD we are doing the best we can.”

Ken looked away, getting slightly irritated.

Zel would then place his pen against the edge of the notepad, listening intently to Ken's final response before slowly jotting down the last few words.

Zel Fuji: “Final question, how safe is Karakura?”
Ken made eye contact with Zel, smirking, leaning in

[Officer] Ken Red: “Karakura isn't without its problems, but that doesn't mean civilians should lose faith in the people working to protect it, like me “

Zel Fuji wrote down the last statement... he then lowered the pen, flipping through the pages, making sure he had every detail written down. Zel then placed the notebook the side next to his camera.

"Well Officer Red, I think that should be all for today, I am sure the people of Karakura will love to hear about everything we talked about."

Zel smiled, sliding out of his chair and walking him to the door. He had everything he needed and more from what he collected, damage, police priority, prevention, gang involvement, patterns, and safety. It was like Christmas Day the way he was sorting it out. Zel then took a seat in his chair, cracking his knuckles and pulling his laptop out of his bag... it was time for a sweet story
