Do you have Discord? If so, what is your username?:
3d3nnn
List your time zone and country:
GMT-6 // Canada
Describe your activity:
As of right now, my activity on SRP is fairly abundant. I am on roughly every day for 3 hours or more in the afternoon, however my availability is rather flexible should I be needed before my usual time.
Link any significant applications (e.g., Roles/Teams, exclude languages):
Councillor Application [ACCEPTED]
EMS Application [DENIED] (The contents of this were removed by me a while ago, whoops)
What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:
There are a few reasons that stick out to me the most as of current.
→ this OC's backstory, and what I'd imagined his future feelings towards a career to be. He is my first ever SRP Original Character that has grown with the time I have played, and has a well developed backstory I have put a lot of thought into. Originally producing biographies, he moves onto fiction and prose as his train of thought begins to jumble, succumbing to alcohol and suggested drug use as a troubled adolescent. His writing literacy doesn't dissipate completely, but it degrades into something much less comprehensible as the long term affects made home in his brain. He refrains from producing literature partly in half-aware shame at it, and simply because he begins to lack the drive for aspirations. But a wind named no other than time moves its course through his blood, wiser do the years make him? not exactly. Something like that regularly impossible in the spiral of substance abuse—But a change in circumstance, and true loves kiss can replace the bottle. Three years sober and a masters degree later, and yet to establish a magnum opus—he moves onto something a little more political as he develops cognitively again—children's books.
(His nationality is also relevant to his interest!!)
→ Having left school, but still wanting chances to expand my writing skills with things such as roleplay and roleplay-based roles that require me to pursue abilities like strong vocabulary, clear and concise writing, and overall maintain my enjoyment in it as it is something I have motivation to do most of the time. I also find myself reflecting my own interest in literature onto all of my characters—which I do not inherently want to do. I'd like to create one character who is aligned with my interest in writing and is allowed many opportunities to indulge in their hobbies, and thus will become a singular channel for me to express and expand my writing ability.
Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:
I do. When it comes to my real life, I have experience preparing for and taking the College Board AP literature exam, and I find that my own writing takes inspiration from American classics. Anne of Green Gables, the Scarlett Letter, 1984, etc. I also have several years of roleplay experience, about seven I would say, and my liking to such a hobby has been fairly consistent since. Like stated above, my relationship with writing is sturdy and I'm looking for more opportunities past roleplay to write about what I like.
Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:
Yes! I am aware that they are set in place to make my and others experiences with this faction better.
Why should we accept you over others?:
I answer this without using other applicants as stepping stones—because they, in reality, have been my supports in such a roleplay community. I do have a drive to familiarize myself with Karakura's lore through such an opportunity, and am excited for a chance to write in a format that I do not often get to, and publish my strongest works to the player base.
Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.):
I understand. I will do my best to adhere to this rule.
Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:
Yes.
Summarize what you imagine work as a reporter is:
To report! Gathering material for reports means to get out there, and take advantage of opportunities you are given to explore lore and other events a little bit more in-depth. Your reports and how you cater to the community help you familiarize your (IC) name across town, not only for popularity but because connections are important for every perspective of a situation—that is what makes a quality report. They are responsible for their own passion to protect the truth and the information that gets out to people.

a congratulatory latte, you're onto the next section.
Treat this section like it is your own character answering it
Into the interview walks a stature of an average male height, skin bearing an indescribable pallor that looks almost ethereal. Silky black hair frames East-Asian features, cascading down to his shoulders in a half-up half-down hairstyle. His eyes are what you assume to be honey brown, though their lack of pigment makes them anything but lackluster—red in appearance. A deep claw mark runs along his right cheek to the bridge of his nose, the corners of plush red lips upturned in a polite expression. On his left shoulder sits a crow, occasionally shifting its weight from one claw to the other.
Full Name:
He takes a seat, sweeping the crows feet with one hand whilst the other granted it short strokes on the top of his head. Somehow, pale irises never leave who sits in front of him, and an accent pervades his first few words.
"Azure Kojima-Yû"
Preferred Name/Nickname and Title (e.g., Ms., Mr.):
The small, char feathered being seems to give a single flap of its wings at the sound that rings familiar to it—his nickname. The male smooths it over with both of his hands, setting it in his lap.
"I prefer 'Az' for short. Mr. will do for my honorific."
Current Age (25+):
He flashes a saccharine smile, hands still occupied with the bird, though occasionally gesturing to himself.
"Twenty five years. My birthday is on the thirty-first of October."
Past job/work experience:
There was little to offer with such a question—but honesty should be the only thing he should offer, in his morale. He hums sweetly before answering.
"I did not pursue work whilst I was studying, but I have independent experience as a writer."
Degree/qualifications:
He straightens his posture, as if being a. . .children's book writer made anyone more professional.
"I hold a masters degree in Literary Studies from Karakura College."
Nationality and born location:
A question he gauges the interviewers reaction to the response of. It was always a little interesting.
"North Korean by nationality, born in South Korea."
Phone Number:
He slips a joke in, and the bird coo's. His demeanor relaxes a little, and he presents his number to the interviewer through a small paper plane he'd launched towards them made of a pink stinky-note.
"Oh? Take me out for coffee first—I do not hand it out to just anyone."
(030-494-6456)
How would you describe yourself in under 150 words?:
He's unsure at the question at first, a small pause spanning through the air. But where his lack of need to look inward has gapped his ability to describe himself, he reaches for an experience related answer. The last he could describe himself, he might've been a . different person.
" I am well-intentioned, even if I appear physically otherwise—a valuable lesson on judging a book by its cover. Though, I can say I do—I can appreciate some tasteful cover art. Possibly not as reserved as I'd like to have been, But I am told that is something . . unchangeable about my spirit. Not to say that I have ever paid much mind to the adult male norm I am expected to fit into."
What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you consider going out of your comfort zone?:
A warm flame in his eyes seems to renew at the question—regards to his interest in writing. A rather philosophical answer that reveals what genre of books the man buries his face in every day after dawn. Not much different than what he writes—but that was just more simple philosophy.
"The status quo in this bordered off town. Its history is served to the immigrants on silver plates, and soon enough their steps are walked in a coordinated fashion—as if they were avoiding thumbtacks on a varnished hardwood floor.
-
To achieve it is to observe a manifested and latent outcome, a relationship between the government and its people. It takes half a step back from the sample you study, to observe a multitude of behaviors that are suddenly 'odd'. I'm willing to exceed my comfort zone to gather information to report on what I feel I'm passionate about. That is what I had come to do—and according to William Shakespeare's Hamlet,
"There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
Reality is stranger than we can muster to think about—much more fame in exploring for the sake of all of man kind rather than observing what is uncharted locally. But the infamous titles I'm willing to leave to my friends—I'm here for one thing."
What are your expectations for the job?:
He does not look to have much to answer for this particular question. Though something solid, but rather simple—evidently, he's happy to get whatever he can out of the experience of the job.
"Not much hard to meet. Merely something to think about every now and then. Not to the extent of sprawling out on silk-lined marble counters and being hand-fed red g****s, but to give me much to learn. . that I can choose from. Even if the heart of what I learn in centered around the town and every micro and macro system within it, that is what I ask for and plenty more. I say it is an underrated value, but a humanitarian thing. As all leads back to Rome, all of what one learns is to service humanity."
Do you have a criminal record? If so, list the crimes below:
His eyes wander off to the small dusty corners of the room, in some attempt at recollection. His memory was rather damaged—a more in-the-moment man.
"Not that I know of. Mere indecencies many years back. . ."
Fluent Languages (Underline your native):
The way he pronounces the language names feels a little homey within the accent.
"I speak Korean and Japanese rather fluently."
PROMPTS:
You will have to write two reports about a topic of your choice. Here we can see how pronounced your writing is and how creative you are. Use your own formatting and your own report idea. (If you're found plagiarizing an actual report or another applicant, you will be denied.)
#1 - General report. Report about a topic, informing players about an event or significant issues to Karakura.

A crow flies in through your window to deliver the daily paper! a velvet blue ribbon is tied around its left claw—it reads Azures number.

#2 - Interview. It's important to have well-rounded questions. Create your own interview with ten questions or more. And answer them yourself.

[ The sun that once wrung you dry of your sweat—the presence of which causes your clothes to stick to your skin, and your temples to dampen dwindles down when the trees shed their honor again. The coming of autumn is the coming of another school-year, and this particular evening, you are tuned into the radio. A vintage piece of technology, something looking to be born from verdant ages, before brutalism and industrialization took is course. A willow tree is rattled by the wind outside, and two voices crackle through the air. A host, with a voice smoother than the finest bottles of Yamazaki—joined by a woman, who introduces herself as the Karakura High's librarian. ]

"Good morning, and good evening to those listening, and I shall grant a goodnight at the end of the segment. Today’s interview pertains to the topic of friendliness and decency amongst Karakura’s students. May you introduce yourself?"
"Of course, it's wonderful to be here!! My name is Amãou Rósenstíel and I work as a librarian! I would say, I'm quite an active librarian usually"

"To begin—in your opinion, is the library space respected . . . or appreciated? by students and other faculty?"

"Hmm.. Not too sure how much the school thinks it's appreciated... Probably because it's an easier job compared to the other positions within the school.. But I usually try to make the library a comfortable and respectful place for students and others who wish to hang out or simply read there!"
"Do you believe it is an environment where fights occur? assuming something like that is easily concealable in a quiet space like the library."

"I've seen a bit of commotion around the library.. Though personally myself, I've rarely seen any fights in there- I've had students come and tell me about fights somewhere on school grounds... But truth be told, I rarely leave my spot- I usually keep just seated at the desk most of the time. . . I guess, you can say is, I'm a workaholic!"

"A brave soul! If it is applicable. . How do students react to your intervention in fights?"

"Hmm, depending on how bad of a fight or situation, I try my best to handle it and keep it under control.. But it can be quite a hassle sometimes, especially when students don't pay attention or listen to you... Which leaves me to call for backup, though sometimes it makes me feel a bit bad for wasting someone's time.."
"It might be difficult to have. . proper mannerisms in regards to respect for faculty in the heat of the moment—but do you feel that you are generally respected in your role? amongst both students and faculty. ."

"Well- I honestly don't chat too much with my colleagues, my fiancé always insisted I should try to make friends, but um... It kind of feels like most of my colleagues aren't too interested, at least. . Maybe a few of the ones who are, would be some of the other librarians. But I never let any of that hold me down nor do I try to think about that sad stuff, I usually just typically try to treat everyone with respect and kindness!!"

"And. .Do you feel as if the way students treat you impacts your job satisfaction. . ? Possibly, performance? does respectful behavior from students influence how much you enjoy your work?"

"Well, it's obviously always good to be positive, respectful to others! I always like cheering up students, if I can! And I would say having that feeling to others and bringing in postivity does help me work and feel at peace with the job, I have.. I rarely lose my temper at all, so positive and happiness definitely help out my mood whilst working!"

"I see. . what about students respect towards school property? How does it apply to library resources, in your opinion?"

"Hmm, from what I've seen most are usually pretty good.. Some who are more troublesome aren't always the best. There was this one student who once threw or got food on both the desk and carpet. . . Which was annoying, but they did eventually stop bothering me and I haven't seen them in a while. Besides that incident, I've never seen anyone else, do anything like that!"

"Not too bad. . though, future prevention of. . such occurrences around the school and in the library does not do any harm to consider. Now. . .Mrs. Rósenstíel—Do you believe there is improvement to be made in terms of how the school community functions? Maybe in the realms of positive interaction between faculty and students?"

"Hmm.... Well, there's many of different ways for staff and students to bring out more possitivity... And well, to list them all would be too many, since there's many of different ways for people to show and bring positivity! And well, everyone is different, not everyone is the same... So there's many of ways that people might be able to bring in positivity!! But I do hope, if students and staff would ever wish to do that, it would be smarter to do it now, rather than later! Since some people probably wouldn't want to wait much longer for that kind of thing, especially when that kind of thing can be improved on!"
"is more work to be done from the faculty in understanding students needs, or from students in further respecting faculty. Additionally, do you feel this is already an attempt within are school that has been less than successful?"

"Well, everyone has a role and part to do, obviously... Especially when they actually have a job to do. Sometimes I feel like the staff and well people in general can only do so much to understand each other and well possibly do something that student may need! I think there are ways to improve and get better at that type of thing, like getting to understand and have the students feel more comfortable and all that. Just depends on what's wrong and what they may need, you know? But I definitely agree that it can be improved!!"
"Indeed. Based on needs. . . But to account for for what they can do on their behalf—In your opinion, is it important that students come to school with more than full backpacks—but positive attitudes? is it important for their learning, and their wishes to graduate- should they exist?"

"Depends on the student, some wish to graduate sooner than others and some are still unsure of what to do for their future, and lack motivation to. definitely there's ways to help students study practice that!! And those who have more experiences with planning for the future, may be able to help out students who haven't decided on a job yet! There's many of ways to do it and be able to help out!! It's about understanding and well if the student wants help or not!"

"That is true—even when it comes to everything academics—you can only help those who are willing to be helped, and it applies to priming for their future aswell. . Finally, if you could make one change to improve the school environment—for both students and staff—what would it be and why?"

"Hmm, well, there's many of things I feel like the school could improve in.. Rather it's something like improving or checking in with students more often.. Who may be getting bullied or something like that. Or even simply trying to help students get out of their comfort zones sometimes.. There's a lot of things can be done or thought of to help improve the school!"

"A little left to be cleaned up, it seems. Although—your opinion will count towards the effort this school year, Mrs. Rósenstíel. Thankyou for your input, and your attendance to this interview. . "
