Adult suggestion

WHAT YOU WANT TO SUGGEST OR MENTION: I suggest to add some sort of application for adult role, for example you would fill out why your character should have adult role, some info about their life and their backstory which would belike minimum 500 words.
HOW WILL THIS BENEFIT THE SERVER/COMMUNITY?: This will benefit the community because now a days I am constantly seeing people applying for jobs just so they can quit 2 months later, this is quite annoying for people that actually want the job. Adding this system would prevent that, to add on to this it would also prevent staff from having to read dozens of fake applications as the people that want the rank just to quit can simply apply for it, this might work another way though as besides joining a job and quitting almost the only way is waiting about 4 months to get into college and graduate, but many people don't have time for college (eg. college apps are at 2:00 PM in a certain dudes time zone, they have school at 2:00 PM making it basically impossible to get accepted into college, leaving the only possible way to get in to join a job and quit.

This is a good idea, but there is something that should be added:

- A monthly limit for how many players can be accepted for adult role. (Ex. Aprox. 3-5)

A monthly limit would ensure that the server would still remain schoolrp but have more adults.

Elaborating on this part, if you can give all that precious time back to those who applied for jobs, spends hours to months working in that position to one day quit and earn their adult role the way it was supposed to be earned then I would give it +1 but sadly you can’t turn back time. This would be a slap in the face to those who wanted to get their adult role by following the long system that was set in place and I find it a bit unfair. Personally I already love the job I have but for those who already had the plans to take the job to become adults I’d say this is not it.

As there is already a way to get the adult role I don't see a reason to need another way. I also don't see how this will prevent players from quitting jobs whenever they feel like it, nor do I think that's a big problem to begin with

I feel like the fact that maybe ever two months or so we get a new school staff, officer, EMS to be good, it adds variety to the server. Also some of these people find they like the job and stick around, do you want people to bypass that learning? I frankly think it would be sad. Plus a symple application for an adult role would be the same as applying to a job role. You can fluff it easy.

The ways to get adult roles are way too time-consuming and quite worthless to most players because of that, therefore there should be another way to attain the role.



They don't quit when they feel like it, instead, they quit for the sole reason that they applied for just the adult role in the first place. Therefore adding an opportunity to apply for the role will stop people from applying for jobs JUST so they can get the adult role.

I agree with some things you mentioned in both your replies towards my opinion such as waiting 6 months is quite a long time. I’ll elaborate more on what I think. let’s say an application for adults did become a thing. I’d assume it would ask you to state previous work experience as you NEED to work now to get the adult role and I don’t see them changing that requirement. So even if they made an app I feel you’d still need some work experience to even get accepted. And from an icly standpoint it doesn’t make much sense to just become an adult without any work experience . At least with other roles you apply for that make you the age of an adult, those are roles that are needed for the server such as teachers, kpd, etc so it makes sense to be able to just get bumped up to that age. But with all that and them just adding the ability to be come an adult through working through college I don’t think an app is needed, there’s already two ways to get the role which is more then some other roles

Another point to this suggestion. This server is SCHOOL roleplay. Not city roleplay. Yes you can become an adult but that isn't what the servers main focus is. I also see some reasons why you would want to be an adult on the server without a job, but at that point why not go to a server where being an adult is the focus?

might as well be cityrp; the amount of city-like roles.

+1. Going to go against the the majority vote here, but just here me out.

I think players deserve more freedom to choose how they want to roleplay on the server, either that be a pet dog, some crazy ninja assassin with a kill count in the 100s or something else, none of which fit into the SchoolRP theme practically but are still very relevant ideas prevalent on this server. It's time SRP embraces it hasn't been much of a SchoolRP in quite a long time now. Also yes, whilst I acknowledge that in the previous suggestion about this topic, I voted negative; I have had some change in opinions since.

I think the idea of a application process is amazing especially given the extensive, unrewarding and bureaucratic college system in order to get the rank, or simply doing the bare minimum in a faction for a few months (something that needs to be discouraged in general. This would be the way to do discourage it effectively..) is too much just to be given a role that says you can be an Adult. You shouldn't need to work so hard to have a bit more freedom on this server. As for possible biases you think I may have, I want to just state it that I have two active adult accounts, a college and a Grade-12, there isn't a bias to be found, I just think players deserve more choice & freedom. It REALLY shouldn't take at bare minimum 3 months (if your taking the join-and-leave-a-faction route), or at bare minimum 6 months (if your taking the college exams route.)


Going to receive backlash with this one, but I stand firm by it, it isn't exactly an out of the box concept that fun should be made to be had.
