AFK plugin

You get a message before you’re about to get kicked warning you that you’ve been afk for too long and it gives you ample time to stop, move around, and then go back to typing. The whole reason this was added was to improve server performance & there is a countdown provided when you’re about to be kicked that gives you plenty of time to move or type a quick “.”

I don’t think it’s worth removing when it’s benefitting the server AND you’re getting plenty of warnings before you actually get kicked
I see your point its better for server performance

Personally like I said in the suggestion typing in chat doesn't always work, even if you stand up the AFK tag doesn't go away fast enough. This doesn't exactly stop the problem of players getting kicked when their tabbed out waiting for people to action.

I think a foolproof way to prevent players from using macros to loop the anti-afk process is to send out a message like this every 10 or so minutes of inactivity

That way, people won't even have to tab out of chat to avoid getting kicked altogether
but I think yonio's comment is a better middle ground! :D

PLEASE!
I will be mid rp typing, and while yes I get the warning I'm about to be kicked I cant stop my typing just to send a '--' in chat or even get up and move. I can understanding helping the server but even if this feature stays can something be worked out for those of us who end up 'afk' while we're mid rp?

Thank you for your suggestion!

Our AFK system is designed to prevent abusing other in-game systems such as classes, attributes, and several other minor commands/systems. Because of this, the only way we can physically prove you're not AFK is by you moving 1 block; this has made is a little more balanced for attributes like Acrobatics as it now requires you to be moving (or not AFK) to gain, rather than seeing loads of people jumping in one place.
Unfortunately making the AFK plugin easily abused would render the entire purpose of the plugin useless. What good is an AFK plugin if we don't know when you're actually AFK?
We recently implemented a hub-kick to our AFK system which occurred after 30 minutes of idle time. This has contributed to better performance on the server when those who are actually AFK get kicked from the server, especially during peak hours. If you aren't AFK, you can simply re-join the server, or move before the 3 second countdown ends to prevent being kicked.
As we do understand this can be irritating, we've increased the hub-kick idle time from 30 minutes to 1 hour with the addition of sounds and on-screen warnings to make it a little easier to know when you're about to be kicked. We'll also add some reminders to move every 15 minutes. Realistically, you'd only have to move once per hour to avoid being moved to the hub now which is in our opinion a fair ask to help us in reducing server stress during peak hours.
