Describe your activity and roleplay experience on the server:
Overall my activity on SchoolRP is very high. I’m online for at least 3 hours a day and when I’m busy I make sure to put in inactivity. I’ve been a Caretaker for a few years now and never missed quota. My current playtime on my main is:
In your own words, why do you think professors are important to SchoolRP?
Educators as a whole are crucial to SchoolRP. Afterall, it’s in the name. We get to take an opportunity to choose our favourite subject and share it with other server-goers. Teachers are important because they teach the newcomers and beyond their subject, but professors teach dedicated players (the ones who passed exams or graduated with 50 credits). This means the people who join your class are interested in learning what you have to say. After all, PHD projects are a pretty big deal. As a once a year event, they have players progress through the server and age up to an adult role!
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive, you may face demotion or removal from the faction?
Yes, I do.
Do you understand if your application is accepted, you may have to undergo professor training?:
Yes, of course. Training is fun! I know a lot of HDs and am excited to learn what they teach me.

What's your character's full name?
Oliver Sunada
Age (Minimum is 27):
27
Nationality:
Italian-Japanese
Preferred Subject:
Creative Arts
Describe the character: How do they look and act? What makes them unique and different? What are their plans for the future? Optionally, what is their past?

Oliver Sunada is as pale as they come, which comes from his ‘night owl’ lifestyle. People often notice his long eyelashes and his soft facial features, like his small button nose, and mistake him for the opposite gender. Overall he doesn’t mind, because he’d assume his voice will let them figure it out on their own.
Oliver’s past has been detailed from the start. He started out in Naples, Italy, living with his older brother, busy paramedic father, mother, and maternal grandparents. Sunada moved out at 15 and a half to Karakura, Japan, where the housing crisis was at its peak. So he would live in the blue beach house in the meantime until he found his apartment. Oliver has gone through a lot during his life on the Japanese island, most notably his (what he thought to be) friend kidnapping him for several days at a time. When he escaped, thanks to KPD, he went undercover. He stayed with a few friends in their apartment, and since he was 18, he developed paranoia and insomnia.
Due to his trauma, Oliver would often be investigating his surroundings as he walks. He would be spooked easily, and could be seen bolting place to place. His first job was as a gamehost at Karakura’s candy shop Yeobo before he turned 25 and got a job as a Caretaker at Karakura school. Oliver carries a faint scent of soap because of it, and the fact he uses triple the amount of soap and shampoos he needs in the shower. This causes his hair to be silky and smooth, cascading into waves, forming a heart on his hairline.
When it comes to the future, Sunada isn’t quite sure. He liked his simple life cleaning the school and coming home to his apartment. However, he was hoping to branch out and become more social. Oliver has a passion for arts, as he used scenic painting as something to calm him down after a long day of school. He enjoys all sorts of art, such as painting, creative writing, and water color. Another perk of the future is currently knowing about professor parties from his friend Sako, he wishes to join them. He was a big partier back in high school. He’d love to relive his younger days.
What is their outlook on students and their co-workers?:
Safety! When rules relate to a student or co-worker’s safety, Sunada never backs down. Students climbing trees, getting into fights, or endangering each other or faculty? Oliver wants to teach them that safety comes first. Assure one’s wellness is taken care of before all else. You can get distracted during class, you can fail, you can step aside in a corner for a few minutes; as long as you’re happy, healthy, and safe from harm, you’re good to go. He values the opinions of others, students or co-workers (and bosses, of course). He takes them into practice and is willing to improve.
What is their motivation for becoming a professor?:
After working at the school as a Caretaker for three years, Oli feels most comfortable and at home at the school. Driving buses, cleaning messes, and interacting with Mr. Akiyama are the highlights. He can’t imagine getting into any other career that isn’t faculty-related, especially considering most of his current friends are professors. Despite being really smart and creating elaborate plans for their students, professors are often laid back and able to really form connections to students in their class. Sunada believes it’s time to do something different at a place he feels most comfortable in. “Shoutout to Sako Akori and Faye Jahii for inspiring me to become one of them,” he’d write. Having a community is important, and his knowledge of the professor's get-togethers intrigues him. But hey, that’s just a small perk of the passionate professors of Karakura Community College.
Roleplay Scenarios
A jock is ignoring your lesson and throwing paper balls at another student, what would your character do?
Sunada is awfully lenient when it comes to these things usually. “Please don’t do that,” he’d say. Back when he attended Karakura High School, he despised classes that were 80% telling students to stop misbehaving. Sunada would have a reward system: star stickers! He’d hand them out to good students, and those who answer questions and pay attention. So, assuming the jock doesn’t want a sticker, Oli would give them a verbal warning. He’d make sure to give students his class rule: 2 Strikes and you’re out. If he has to ask the jock a second time, he’d threaten to kick him out of class and lose participation in fun activities and projects. So with that, Oli would focus on the lesson. If the jock continues, Oli will lead them out of the classroom to find something else to do.
A student doesn’t seem to understand the material, yet hasn’t requested help, what would your character do?
When it comes to college classes, the material gets trickier. Besides the simple “any questions?” and frequent recaps and summaries, Oli will often scan around the room for people who have their heads down or are struggling to follow. When able, Sunada will approach desks for some 1 on 1 time with each student, asking them questions and talking to them to make sure they’re following. He’d make sure to give a heads up about what’s in the homework assignment in order to keep the student's attention. Art is all about doing, so Oliver will often demonstrate what he looks for before letting everyone try for themselves.
When in the faculty lounge, how does your character act?
Hotdog! Oliver Sunada loves to indulge in the provided faculty lounge hotdogs. Right when he walks in he grabs a bun and places the hotdog in the microwave, waiting for the beep before sitting down and munching. He typically does this during period three, since students are in class. However, he’d move his schedule over for lunchtime. He would also whip up some hot chocolate and sit down for some lesson planning in his trusty notebook. If anything pops up, he’ll be writing it down. If a co-worker or two drops in, he’ll love to chat with them.
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas and one field trip idea related to your subject
[Paper Sculptures] “You gave students superglue?!” Oliver knows better than that. Superglue must be earned. Of course, it’s called school glue for a reason now. Oliver will provide students with paper, toothpicks, clay, and SCHOOL glue. Those who are trusted may earn their rights for super glue. So with that, students will be given their own choice between a human or animal to make the sculptures of. First, create the skeleton with toothpicks and bind them with clay. Add some volume with even more clay. Then students will be able to glue their papers to the sculpture in multiple layers until they achieve their shape. Get creative - rip the paper, crease it, fold it, turn it into a paper ball.
[Art or Not - Debate] “Have you ever seen the banana and duct tape?” That’s not art, or is it? Students must use critical thinking to answer this question: “What makes something art?” Can an unfinished painting be considered art? Does our town’s graffiti count as art? Is there a definitive line between art and trash, or does it depend on the person? Students will stay in their seats for part of it, but if there’s a yes or no question, such as “Does this count as art?” I'll have students go to one side of the room or the other and take turns debating with each other. If the debate starts slowing down, Oliver will start adding his own comments and points.
[Jokes, Themes, and Fun Facts] This lesson will be a running one! Multiple lessons will be made from this format:
1. Use the intercom to mention the theme (space, Journalism, food, etc.) Ex: "Hey astronauts, today we will be making our own solar systems! Period 3! C'ya in room 000!"
2. Build a project, draw, create, free style it! Create your own greenhouse for Earth Day! Create a foam food for Culinary Lead Sako Akori's birthday!
3. Repeat!
Having lesson themes will blossom with engaging ideas. Especially when it comes to mixing it up and keeping students wondering. I can also create a project based on the JOKE OF THE WEEK! Or even give students fun facts about the world around them, like the recent book club event. Themes will also increase the likelihood of collaborating with fellow Professors!
[Field Trip: Shrine - The Art in Art-etecture] We’ll visit the shrine to absorb their building techniques. There’s a reason it’s so sacred. It’s a beautiful place with so much to offer, so why not take a seat in the sun and paint what you see? Start with a perspective point, then move to create general shapes, then get specific: add doors, windows, and curves. After they add lineart, they shall grab the watercolors and make the colors stand out. A zen class during a long day of school.
