Describe your activity on SchoolRP:
I am active pretty much daily for about 2 to 4 hours, and on my days off I can be online for up to around 8 hours.
Describe your roleplay experience with SchoolRP and other roleplay networks in general:
My first experience with roleplay was on SRP when I joined sometime in the summer of 2021. Since then I’ve gained a variety of roleplay experience, starting out with casual student roleplay with friends, with some occasional combatRP on the side. Since then I’ve gained confidence to make new friends and more comfortably roleplay with strangers, partly due to my time in the school employee faction. Aside from SRP, I’ve roleplayed with friends on our own private minecraft servers and created stories and narratives on occasion, so I’ve racked up quite a lot of experience.
What are your current roles on SchoolRP:
(main) DeyeetMe - College M
(alt) Splooner - Grade 12
(applying with) DilfRP - Grade 12
(I'd like my Adult role moved from my primary profile to the secondary one, if accepted.)
What is the subject you want to teach?:
Domestic science.
TRIVIA SECTION
What is your motivation for becoming a professor?:
After my time as a caretaker I’ve become curious to experience roleplay in other faculty roles. I’ve had the chance to witness both high school and college classes, both as a faculty member and as a student, so I have some kind of idea of how classes work and what to expect when teaching. I can’t deny that I miss interacting with other faculty members and experiencing all the different kinds of student interactions you get in a faculty role, as well as simply getting the opportunity to roleplay with new people.
In character, on the other hand - Alejandro resigned from his job as a caretaker due to the position being quite taxing on his physical health, though his interest in working at the school remained. His husband is currently a professor, which gave him the idea of trying out for a teaching role. Though he’s had no previous education in the field, being unemployed gives him ample time to work towards a degree in teaching.
Work out two interactive classes you will host if accepted:
1. A class in sewing, more specifically mending damaged clothes and textiles. In this class we would go over different techniques of repairing all kinds of fabric, as well as discussing which methods are most suitable for each material. As the subject can be quite vast when getting into more obscure and complicated methods, we would start out with something simple and fun: mending small holes on a shirt with embroidery. First, the most important part - learning to effectively repair the damage in a lasting way. Afterwards we would go over both easy and more advanced embroidery techniques to bedazzle the garment and camouflage the patch.
2. A cooking class, though something a little different from your typical culinary classes. The purpose of the class would be to teach students the most basic aspects of cooking, such as boiling pasta or potatoes. Everyone knows how to do this, right? However, we would go into the details of things like how to pick out bad potatoes, how long to cook pasta for, when and when not to add salt to the boiling water, etcetera. Additionally, we would explore techniques on how to cook efficiently, for example cleaning used dishes in the middle of cooking to ease the cleaning process that comes afterwards.
Work out a field trip (meaning a class outside school grounds) you will host if accepted:
On this field trip, we would go to the beach with labelled trash bags. The purpose of the trip is to learn about recycling, and what better way to do so than to clean up the beautiful beach of Karakura! Most importantly, of course, we would start off with proper equipment: each student gets a pair of strong gloves, a trash picker, and their own set of trash bags. Students may work alone or in pairs to pick up any garbage they find scattered along the beach and sort them in their trash bags, taking advantage of their recycling knowledge they would have learned in a previous class. We may even hold a competition to see who can collect the most trash. Picking up garbage can be physically taxing, so there would be snacks and cold drinks for students to replenish their energy, and the latter half of the field trip would be reserved for casual conversation and trivia about recycling. At the end of the trip the trash bags would be taken back to the school to be properly disposed of.
SCENARIO SECTION
Your character would encounter a group of college jocks surrounding a bobcat jock, what would your character do?
First and foremost, Alejandro would insert himself into the situation. Standing between the spartans and the lone bobcat, he evaluates the situation, questioning the students about what is going on. It could be a false alarm - they might be friends, or simply having a conversation - regardless, it is safest for Alejandro to intervene to make sure no one is getting hurt or bullied. If the situation appears to be a fight of some sort, he would first try defusing the situation. Getting the students to a safe distance from each other, Alejandro would then ask each student for details on what happened. He would whisper a quick message over the radio about the situation, in case he ended up needing backup - hopefully, though, his calm demeanour is enough to keep control of the students. If the situation demands it, Alejandro would hand out detentions to the offending spartans - otherwise, a verbal warning will suffice.
Your character would be supervising detention, one of the students constantly disturbs by asking stupid questions, what would your character do?
Alejandro isn’t one to easily lose his composure, so his tone would remain polite as he repeatedly lets the student know that they must remain quiet in detention. As his warnings fall on deaf ears, he reminds them of the consequences of getting SLT involved - still, this student seems unbothered by the notion of being suspended. At this point, this student might be disrupting others in detention, affecting their ability to finish their tasks - so, Alejandro decides to give the student a different kind of task: an impromptu class on housekeeping chores, today’s subject being… intricately cleaning each and every one of the school’s toilets.
Your character would be hosting a class, and a group of cheerleaders keeps on playing songs on the phone and call out other students in the class, what would your character do?
Alejandro would remind the students that phones must be kept on silent and in their bags during class. He would only address the students by name if the behaviour continued - if this doesn’t work, he will give a final warning about the possibility of detention, though notoriously cheerleaders do not seem affected by such threats. As both he and his students are starting to suffer from both the noise and the constant interruptions to class, Alejandro resorts to politely removing this group of cheerleaders from his class, each with a detention slip in hand.
Your character would be walking on the school perimeter and encounter a fight between a couple of students, your character tried to break it up but it didn't help, what would your character do?
Of course, Alejandro would first try to defuse the situation. Getting the students away from each other is his primary goal - however, he can hardly get himself between the two with punches being thrown left and right. Jeopardising his own health would be reckless, so he reaches for his radio and informs the other faculty members of the fight, trying to give as much detail as he can about the location as well as the status of each student, in case they need a nurse. As a fight of such calibre could be grounds for a suspension, Alejandro makes sure to also request for any available SLT to assess the situation.
CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Tell us everything you know about the character you will be playing in a few paragraphs. What does they look like? What makes them unique and different? What is their outlook on Students? What about the other teachers? What is their personality like? What is their plan for the future?
Alejandro is a forty-something Spanish male with a towering height of 6ft 5. He’s built an impressive amount of muscle, both in his days before coming to Karakura, as well as during his time as a caretaker at the school. Despite his physical strength and relatively stoic facial features, the male is most often adorned with a gentle smile, framed by his blond, curly locks.
Due to his gentle nature, Alejandro tries to primarily be patient and understanding with students, despite possible issues or misunderstandings. He is still capable of being stern when the situation demands it, especially when it comes to rulebreaking on school grounds. Nevertheless, he enjoys aiding both students and other faculty alike, even having a tendency to occasionally fall into his previous role of running small errands for other teachers and professors.
As for his future, Alejandro is currently focused on a career in teaching, of course. Due to him getting a teaching certificate only relatively recently, he aims to keep studying to hone his skills, both in his freetime as well as at work, learning from other, more experienced professors.
Describe how your character ended up becoming a teacher and their previous life. It is optional to include earlier life but recommended.
A boy was born to two wealthy parents in Barcelona, Spain. Alejandro, meaning 'defender of mankind', was the name given to the boy. Life in a villa near Costa Brava was easy for Alejandro, having no responsibilities or expectations he was allowed to do as he wished. Most of his days were spent being a nuisance to the family's maid, since he was never allowed to leave the house on his own. As the boy turned seven, his father informed him that he would start going to school - or, that’s how Alejandro understood it - however, the boy’s excitement quickly dispelled as he learned that he would be homeschooled for the next ten or so years of his life.
As he turned 18, Alejandro learned of his father’s plans to make him the successor of their family business. Logically, the thing keeping their family rich was the family business, with Alejandro next in line to inherit it. Having been secluded and controlled his whole life, Alejandro had grown stoic, which is why he did not resist when his father signed him up to a prestigious school to study business. As the school was rather far from their villa, his father figured the best course of action would be to rent an apartment near the school for Alejandro to live in. It took Alejandro until the day he moved to realize that he would be living on his own, without needing to stay in the house all the time since his parents weren’t there to police him.
While Alejandro wasn’t terribly interested in studying business, he excelled in his studies due to his new-found curiosity. He would spend hours after school at the library, reading all kinds of books they didn’t have at their villa. He considered changing his studies to something that actually interested him, but he realised he didn’t even know what interested him. The only thing he was sure of, however, was that he would excel at his studies, graduate, and then run away to see the world, to experience everything he hadn’t had the chance to see yet. His determination helped him graduate early, and with just a note sent to their villa and a hefty amount of money he’d saved up from allowance from his father, Alejandro bought tickets to fly to the furthest place he could think of: Japan.
Life in Japan turned out to be more difficult than he’d anticipated. Despite having no real world experience and not speaking a word of Japanese, Alejandro managed to land himself a small, run-down apartment with rent so low he’d be able to live there for years with his saved up money. His first order of business, aside from living essentials, was to get his hands on some books to help him learn the language.
It was more daunting than expected. First having to learn a whole new alphabet system - correction, not one, but three new alphabet systems - and only after that being able to learn the language itself? Let’s just say it took a bit longer than a year, perhaps closer to about 8 years, for him to be fluent to a comfortable degree. He had the time, though - the impressive amount of funds he’d collected back at home in Spain lasted him for a whopping 18 years. At that point, Alejandro found it necessary to look for a job if he wanted to keep paying rent.
The job he ended up getting was a caretaker position at the local school, Karakura High. Despite living in the city for so long, he hardly knew anything of the people living there, and the only people he’d really talked to had been cashiers at that point. Though daunting, Alejandro slowly adapted, interacting with his fellow faculty members more and more comfortably each day. Eventually, he came across a certain professor whom he’d familiarise himself with more intimately - their shared reserved nature pulled the two men together, igniting a strange kind of friendship that, over time, developed into something more. Due to his lack of experience with people, their relationship was anything but smooth at first. Arguments happened at least once a week, and more than once they were on the brink of separating due to their inability to have a mature conversation. However, they prevailed, and the now happily married couple could continue to be a nuisance to their coworkers for years to come.
At least, that’s what they thought. Their marriage didn’t suffer, no - Alejandro simply found the job taking a toll on his physical health. He resigned after some years in the position, and with decent savings, felt no need to find another job for the time being. He stayed as a househusband for the next couple of months, though he quickly realised that he needed something to do lest he go stir-crazy. A job at the school sounded appealing, especially with his husband still working there - though, he couldn’t return to his old position due to concerns for his health. While working as a caretaker, he had witnessed some of his husband’s classes, and found the idea of teaching to be quite interesting. He lacked qualifications, though. So, his next order of business was to research the nearest academies that offered professor education and apply.
