Describe your activity on the server:
I consider myself a very active player, with a flexible schedule. I’ve been playing SRP since late 2021 to early 2022, and have strived to experience all different kinds of roleplay between clubs, factions, sports teams, faculty, and crimerp/gangrp. I’m most active during late afternoons and nights, and usually most of the day on weekends.
I am applying on my alt account due to already being a part of a faction on my main account. My alt account has been almost entirely unused, hence the little playtime on it. If I were to be accepted, my role would go on that account, and it would be active.

List your current roles on the server:
My only ‘role’ on the server currently is the College Swim team, in which I am the co-captain. As for non-faction roles, I have a character who is part of an unreleased gang, Bloodhounds, and KUERT.
What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
I consider my roleplay experience on the server to be extensive, and I am always looking to experience new types of roleplay. Over these last few years, I’ve taken on so many different kinds of characters and had so many different roleplay experiences. During my time on the server, I’ve been a part of the faculty faction as a professor and EMS as a doctor, and eventually as a paramedic. Both were roles I took seriously, enjoyed, and did well in. I’m currently a member of the college swim team on my main account, but I have also participated in numerous other sports, including high school track, high school baseball, and college baseball. While I’m not currently part of any, I’ve participated in clubs in the past.
What is your motivation for applying?
The hospital faction is one I’d always wanted to be a part of, but I had the fear of applying due to fear of rejection. In August of last year, I finally took the initiative and decided ‘Why not?’ and applied. I never expected to be selected, and it was so, so much better than I could’ve ever imagined. It gave me a place to hone my writing and DetailRP, which I enjoy. I truly loved the faction and poured my heart into it, making my way up to Advanced Paramedic. Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of my control in my personal life, I had to take a step back for my well-being, even when I didn't want to. I miss the faction every day, and am now jumping at the opportunity to rejoin now that I feel I am ready. I understand that others will be prioritized over me because I’ve already had experience within the faction and made the decision to leave, but I wouldn’t forgive myself if I didn’t at least try. The Hospital faction was home for me, and I’d love more than anything to return.
Which role are you applying for?
Doctor
What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
The Hospital faction follows a chain of command—a hierarchy, if you will, similar to real hospitals. Each role comes with its own set of responsibilities, ensuring that everything functions correctly. At Karakura Hospital, the roles go as follows:
Trainee
The newest to the faction. The ‘interns’. Those who have not yet passed their exams and are still training under supervision from Senior Residents and above. They are the fledglings, with potential to become great and independent, but are kept under watchful eyes to ensure things are done properly. They are not yet able to prescribe medication or give treatment to patients alone.
Resident
The next step up from trainees, residents have just passed their examinations and are now able to prescribe medication. Having finished their training and passed their examinations, they can treat patients independently. They have additional responsibilities compared to the trainees and have just begun to gain their footing.
Senior Resident
Senior residents are a step above from residents. This is where they start taking on more leadership roles like providing training and guidance to new trainees. They function with a higher level of independence in preparation for becoming attendings.
Attending
Attendings are the next step up from Senior Resident. Attendings are fully independent with authority and are considered mentors. It is a position many strive for. Attendings are reliable and committed, and have proven they can take on the responsibility.
Paramedic
Those who have achieved Senior Resident or higher can be considered for Paramedic, a track focused on high-stakes emergency medicine. They’re the front line when it comes to treating the injured outside of the hospital, and can respond to emergency calls. They can also sometimes work alongside KPD, whether it involves traversing the sewers to locate an injured individual or responding to joint calls. Paramedics can assume the responsibilities of both Doctors and Psychiatrists, and will receive not only Paramedic training but also training in the opposite field they were previously in.
Clinical Supervisor
Clinical Supervisors and above are the higher-ups of the Hospital faction. They hold several responsibilities, including assisting the clinical lead in managing their department. They also oversee the trainee’s progress. If the clinical lead were unable to fulfil their duties, the clinical supervisor would fill in.
Clinical Lead
Each department has a clinical lead overseeing it. At Karakura Hospital, excluding the separate Paramedic department, there is only one clinical lead for each department. They ensure that patients in their department are being treated appropriately and in some cases, settle disputes between coworkers in their department. A lot of their job is done behind the scenes, as they oversee their department and ensure it is well-organized. They take orders from the Director and implement them within their department.
Hospital Director
The hospital director is the highest position possible and is the ultimate authority. The director’s responsibility is to oversee every aspect of the hospital and its operations. They’re responsible for hiring and maintaining the hospital’s financial stability and reputation.
Paramedics follow a very similar structure, which works similarly:
Paramedic Trainee -> Paramedic -> Deputy Chief Paramedic -> Chief Paramedic
Both Deputy Chief Paramedic and Chief Paramedic are higher-up positions within this department.
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?
Yes, I understand.

Character Backstory:
Aaliyah Kamara was born in Seongnam, South Korea. Despite having everything she could have ever asked for, she still struggled. With a sick mother, absent father, and rogue, criminal brother, she struggled to find balance in her family. At the age of sixteen, she reached a breaking point and left home, leaving everything behind and cutting contact. With all distractions gone, she spent her last two years of high school focused on her studies. Aaliyah was always determined to become a doctor from a young age. While she knew she couldn’t cure her mother, she strived to be one of the good doctors and hoped that someday she’d be able to help save people before it was too late. Her mother was always her inspiration and the catalyst that started everything.
She worked harder than ever before, often neglecting her social life to focus on her studies. Medicine was not only her passion, but refuge. The expectations she set for herself were higher than what anyone else could put on her, and she often pushed herself past her breaking point. But time and time again, she picked up the pieces of herself and continued, even if she had to crawl. Her hardworking spirit carried her through her high school graduation and undergraduate studies. After obtaining her BS in Biology, she took a year to recover financially before pursuing her Master's. Deciding she wanted a change of scenery, Kamara decided to make the move to Japan, residing in Osaka. During her master’s program, she completed an internship at Osaka University Hospital, where she fell even more in love with the field of medicine. She knew this was what she was destined to do. After completing medical school, she took a position at the same hospital where she had interned, slowly working her way up through the ranks.
Halfway through her senior residency, Aaliyah got into a dispute with a coworker who had disrespected her, leading to her dismissal from the program. She thought that was it - the end of her career. On a whim, she heard of a small town situated on an island with a small but notable hospital, and decided to apply for a vacant senior residency spot. Not even expecting a call back, Aaliyah was pleasantly surprised to receive the call that her application had been accepted, and immediately made the move. She fell in love with medicine all over again, loving her job and her coworkers.
Not long after she made the move, she discovered that her younger brother had also moved to Karakura, and they rekindled their relationship. She found a healthy balance between her work and personal life, even marrying the love of her life. Kamara was happy and excelled at her job, but wanted more. So when she had the opportunity to train to become a Paramedic, she jumped at it, and worked hard, making her way up to Advanced Paramedic.
Everything came to a head when family problems arose, specifically with her brother, and she lost the ability to cope. Both her personal life and professional life crumbled, and she became a shell of her former self, barely able to function and perform her job. Then came the turning point. Someone she cared dearly about needed CPR, and she froze. If not for the doctor in the room, they would have died. This was an entirely new experience for her, and she knew then and there that she needed to take a step back, not only for her own well-being but also for the benefit of her patients. She knew she’d never pass a psych eval, so with a heavy heart, she turned in her letter of resignation and went on her way, determined to better herself, heal, and return.
And that, she did. She worked harder than she ever had before, relying on her support system and mental health professionals to heal. She knew that she’d never be able to return unless she was one hundred percent certain she was ready. She knew she’d have to prove herself and pass a psych eval. Riddled with nerves sharper than she’d ever felt, even more than when she had taken her board examinations, she walked into her psych eval with her head held high, answering each question honestly. She received her passing result with tears in her eyes, feeling as if she was ready to conquer the world and do what she wanted most - return home.
SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical specialty? Why did they choose this focus?
For Aaliyah, choosing her specialty was easy. While there wasn’t a particular specialty she disliked, she immediately clicked with one during her rotation: Emergency Medicine. She was the first of her class to choose her specialty and was one of the few who stuck with their original choice without changing it later.
For her, emergency medicine aligned with the chaos, urgency, and intensity she grew up around. The unpredictability of her family dynamics taught her that things can change in a split second, and that how quickly and correctly she acted could be the difference between life and death. She always wanted to be the kind of doctor who could step in at a moment’s notice, in a patient’s most critical moments, and save lives. She loved the adrenaline emergency medicine gave her and took pride in being the steady hand in chaos. In her mind, this is what she was born for.
What medical residencies did your character take after medical school?
Aaliyah completed her internship at Osaka University Hospital and, after graduating from medical school, began her career there. She worked her way up from an intern to a senior resident before being dismissed from her position, before she could have been considered for an attending position.
Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
She does. Kamara spent three years with Osaka University Hospital as a doctor and just under a year with Karakura Hospital as both a doctor and a paramedic.
Has your character completed any additional schooling?
No.
SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?
Despite the trials and tribulations she’s gone through, Aaliyah Kamara is a gentle soul. Usually laid-back, but stern when necessary, she’s the type to light up any room she’s in with a warm smile on her face. Both inviting and fierce, her eyes sparkled with brilliance beyond her years. Standing at a height of 5’6, she’s a bit shorter than Karakura’s average height, but the effortless confidence she carries herself with more than makes up for the difference. Others usually perceive her as kind and approachable, but know not to underestimate her. Her presence is comforting in high-stress settings, and she may seem intimidatingly wise and resilient at times.
How does your character act on and off duty?
Aaliyah’s behavior both on and off duty is almost precisely the same. That is to say, she is exactly who she seems to be. While on duty, she is more professional than when off duty, as she allows herself to relax and let loose entirely when off duty. Usually always opting to stay on duty more than her coworkers, she is respectful and kind, even when she dislikes the coworker she’s communicating with, and goes above and beyond to ensure her patients receive only the best care. Whether she is on duty or off, she’s always careful to maintain her image and reputation as a hospital employee. That, to her, is incredibly important, even more so than before.
Does your character function better on their own or with others?
For the longest time at the beginning of her career, Aaliyah preferred to work alone, believing that others working with her would only slow her down and create competition. It took her a while to realize that this wasn’t right, and over time, she slowly began to change her perspective. Over the last couple of years, she has learned how to thrive and uplift her coworkers while working together, and she has come to realize that she genuinely enjoys it. She’s still able to succeed on her own, but now prefers to work with others.
What plans does your character have for the future?
Aaliyah plans to take things slowly, reintroducing herself to the field after a hiatus. Not only does she want to contribute again and be an asset, but she wants to do even better than she did before. She returns now with expectations even higher than they once were, and she is determined to succeed, no matter how many tries it takes. She wants a long, meaningful career again and wishes to take on some of the responsibilities she once had. She knows she has more eyes on her now than before, and she welcomes them to witness her progress.
