Faculty Supervisors for Clubs

What's the title of your suggestion?: Faculty Supervisors for Clubs

What's your suggestion?:
Allow faculty to "join" clubs and supervise them! Faculty have perks that students don't have access to. These perks can add more opportunities to expand club events, meetings, and more.

How will this work?
In the club discord, there can be "applications" on a google form where faculty who are interested can put in an app while the club members decide on who they want to be the supervisor! Just like how shopkeepers hire their own employees, club leaders can hire their own faculty.

Some Perks! (+ Examples)
-- Intercom: Can be used to announce meetings/events, advertise, and more

Example - JOURNALISM
An article is presented, the club leader reads over it and approves it over the club discord. Great, now for the intercom message, constructed by the person who wrote the article. However, the club leader must grab staff to put the intercom out during school. Because of this, the club is very behind on intercoms, and the staff is handling other problems and may not always respond to DMs about intercoms (we're like 3+ months behind..). However, with faculty, they already have access to intercoms and can certainly put it out each day! Limit it to 1-2 a school day to prevent spam (breaktime, study time, or lunch).
-- Keys: Can be used to get into places club leaders can't
Example - PREFORMING ARTS CLUB
The club leader is interested in doing some acting. Sure they have stages, but wouldn't it be cool to act in a real classroom? As a teacher and students, fire drills, stuff like that. It's a school club after all. If they had a teacher to supervise, they can use their keys to offer up their classroom for a meeting!
-- Adult Supervision: Keeps kids in line, professional, and safe!
Example - OCCULT CLUB
Occult club is known to get into danger (remember October? It was insane: cursed dolls/objects, curses, spirits, ghosts, etc). With supervision they can be pulled out of dangerous situations or step to the side incase things go wrong. Faculty can also give them advice (old people wisdom)! Last meeting involved a faculty member (me!) and was able to keep an eye out while they spoke to some spirits. When things went downhill, I was able to knock down the door while they escaped. Safety first!

How will this benefit the server and community?:
-Roleplay: More side-jobs for faculty (in and out of school hours) and more opportunities for clubs!
-Optional: Faculty don't have to take part of this, neither do clubs. It's optional, meaning there's no need to stress out if some people dislike this idea.
-Fixes Journalism Issue: As a club member, we really need a change in order to catch up and keep consistent with intercoms
-Faculty boredom: After school fun times relating to school (when meetings occur). Can give faculty things to do when school ends (or weekends)
-Realism: When it comes to school curriculars, usually faculty takes charge because students running around without supervision is never good. You can't trust these people, especially in Karakura.

+1 ? But I have to ask: Didn't we already have faculty supervisors? In Fall 2024 it was decided that Student Council members instead of faculty would supervise the clubs from there on out - to help with Events and all that. I distinctly remember that Occult Clubs supervisor during October was a professor "Professor Zayven Hartono."

honestly I'm unsure on why they removed faculty(Teachers/Professors) from being club supervisors, I was a supervisor for a club for a long while until they swapped us out for Student body councilors.

Really? I wasn't part of that back then so I had no clue. Maybe council members should have access to intercom/keys/whatever or something :P

This would work in both favors. The students could plan out more club activities while the school faculty gets to have something else to do and most likely get paid to do so. I can imagine my teacher character supervising the cooking club as outside of teaching physics he loves too cook for his family.

However there are things I could see go wrong with this which is most likely why it's been removed.
1. there aren't enough club activity or clubs themselves to where a school faculty could step in to supervise anyways
2. Some clubs may not click with some school faculty then others
3. If lets say supervising club activity could help raise quota, this would give that supervising teacher/professor an unfair advantage as they're able to complete quota much more quickly unlike other teachers who aren't assigned a club to look after.

Other then that, having Teachers or Professors look after clubs could strengthen bonds between students and school faculty, They would be able to do more things related to the club, while us faculty may get paid by looking after clubs. There are a few things that should be tweaked and looked over but I personally think it's something that should return as planning out Classes + HW and going on patrol can be pretty repetitive at times.

+1 ignoring the fact that i... never knew faculty was removed from being club supervisors, I feel like it's important that there's at least an ADULT presence that supervises the club. Because leaving it all up into the hands of the students, even with councillors, feels like a recipe for disaster

I will not be adding this back to my faction unfortunately.

at the end of they day, finding faculty willing to spend time with these clubs is cumbersome enough and never bodes well for the club, they end up sitting in this discord doing mostly nothing whilst the club goes about their activities.

The reason I replaced them with councillors was because the roles aligned more which provided better synergy between the two players to work on (mini) events and ideas, the two roles were more aligned in goal meaning both student and supervisor could work towards a common goal which both benefitted and interested them; faculty makes sense ICly to have but not every realistic idea is the best for a faction to function.

I think if the main issue is being able to engage with students as a faculty member, there are still a lot of ways (keeping in mind that Customable won't be adding this back) to do that without being a faculty supervisor or needing a specific role, you just need to actively seek them out or put in some extra work ICly / OOCly to find ways for that engagement. Not that any faculty members aren't trying there hardest for more roleplay opportunities - but that there are still many other ways to find new RP experiences as a faculty member.
Also, as far as I know, faculty are still allowed to participate and help clubs of their own volition and generally be around.

Personally i see why this was removed. I have been faculty for a year now, and as supervisor to occult club sometimes it was difficult to keep rp up. This way I can still participate in the club however students can plan and align faction duty better. I was also tired of not really having a goal or talking points about it.
