My favourite trope(?) is probably lost fame or a bygone golden era for a character. It hits very close to home for me, burnout and old age. There's a reason all rockstars die at 27. Maybe we shouldn't get to see them grow old and weary and disillusioned. But I love exploring that theme, not just with music, but police (professor character, Conrad Lunge) and the crime world (Keikaku Maihemu's commander, Kiriko Hattori), too.
