Rich
I did this last year and thought it was super fun to see everyone's variety of answers! Who have been your favorite characters of 2025? (And why, if you so please)

Oooo, favourite characters... I have a couple!
In no particular order:

Tamashi Tankyu-sha 'Kitsa'
Kitsa as a character really inspired me with regards to SRP. Often times in the shrine I am alone for pretty much my entire time on SRP, but Customable had a tendency to visit me playing as Kitsa in these times to give me company. Because of this gesture, the character has really come to mean a lot to me - and has since then become incredinly important to Charlotte's development.

Mei Miura
Mei is a very interesting character and Neeryu is a dear friend of mine. I mentioned earlier that I spend most of my time on SRP alone, but out of the time I do spend actually getting to see people, most of that is seeing Mei. I love his story arc and morals, and genuinely think he's written and played out better than some characters from popular books and movies.

Haruka Tokugawa
Haruka is a character I have spent a lot of time with as I've played in the shrine faction. Even though I rarely see her around anymore, the impact she has left on both myself and my character is everlasting. I remember nearer to the start of the year, still seeing her as a scary higher-up in the shrine, though nowadays I find her to be rather silly, although reserved.

Honourable mentions would go to:
Asami Hasegawa, Harry Shima, Katsuhito Akihito, Sachiko Saiky, Kohana Otori, Calico O'Sullivan-Omori, Victoria O'Sullivan, Himari Hattori-Okkotsu, Teresa Keating, and more

My picks are going to of course be very biased to the roleplay I've done this year. This is my first year on SRP, I only joined on Feb 14 of this year, so there are a lot to mention as I figured out where I fit in this community and what sort of roleplay I wanted to do. Many of these are picked from the perspective of my own characters or described as such. Without further ado and in no particular order...:

Mei Miura - Through this character I vividly remember being shown P2L in action and just how much you can do with a character, I would argue that my interactions with Mei and Neeryu have largely shaped me as a roleplayer in ways I cannot compare to any others influence.

Sachiko Saiky - The ragebaiter, the one testing mine and my own characters limits with patience, a seemingly dutybound heiress who highlighted, to me, the complexities available write to players within the existing power structures in Karakura and RP on the whole. It is incredible to see a character pushed to so many limits without breaking and it exemplifies a stress rarely portrayed in a satisfying manner with

Kael Vireaux - The one 'good cop', one ill suited for his job and he knew it and was very well executed and played. His flaws were incredible to watch manifest with time and experience on his job and I am incredibly proud of the growth and development this funny little man has been through. His position tested the resolve of one of my most complex characters and actively inspired change within her in a way I would not have anticipated at the time of creation for her character.

Valentine C. Dubois - SOUPWOMAN. The enabling mother to my favourite nutcase who actively helped me stabilise my character when I felt like her RP was getting away from me and I felt like killing her off. The break and guidance she provided to Inari and myself were pivotal in continuing my characters development.

Marella L. Doan-Stark - The unfortunate golden child. As far as development for Inari goes, she takes the cake. Where Valentine laid the foundation, Marella built upon it a structure that will forever mark Inari's development, arguably saving her from the fate of most gangsters in this city in doing so. The burden of responsibility fell heavily on Inari's shoulders and Marella was the righting force that stabilised things for her. The roleplay with this character has been nothing short of riveting and unpredictable, particularly in the sense of implications for Inari going forwards. Character defining roleplay from a green tag is a rarity in my experience and this should be highlighted

Volya Doan-Stark - The glue that binds, where there lies a connection to be made, Volya probably either facilitated it or somehow had an input on it. His cool, blue..., head often being a voice of reason and a levelling force to my characters own arrogance and hotheaddedness being crucial if not decisive in keeping my characters in check or even aiding them when necessary. His compassion and sense of duty towards his family resonates with several values of varying characters of mine and every moment spent around this character was just as chaotic as those with his child, though there are also moments of peace and even rare nuggets of indisposable advice.

Angel Yamashita - The devil herself, or so she thinks. Never before have I seen a character so beautifuly contrast two sides of the same person with such devasting impact on another character before that 10 real world months later, things that happened forever ago that still DIRECTLY IMPACT day to day interactions is beyond impressive. Truly a fantastic character.

Kekoa Anakoni - The lazy dean. He differed from many of the other characters, he didn't cut out a large path in their lives, but instead offered insanely unique roleplay opportunities that I would not have had otherwise, particularly within journalism club. RPing out realtime investigative student journalism and the trials and tribulations it came with was one of the most entertaining things I've done in roleplay, from slandering, to sensationalising, to sleuthing, conspiring with his subordinates, and even doing the worlds crappiest voice over for an article on him, it was nothing short of a stellar experience.

Jane R. Genesis Togomi - Thug priest. Holy fucking crap has she been an insane character to work with, I've had the pleasure of experiencing two sides of this incredibly complex character who has developed almost entirely within the SRP environment with one of the deepest backstories truly fleshed out in Karakura. Many people add depth and lore prior to their characters coming to Karakura to bolster their writing, though Jane stood out as not only doing so, but being a continuous source of wisdom and advice for my characters developed and stemmed from true roleplay derived experiences, making her one of the most unique and cool characters I've had the pleasure of interacting with.

There are so many honourable mentions here that I would break this website if I enumerated them all, but these have been some of the most influential and impactful characters for myself or my own characters that are recent in mind, though I have written hundreds of words about the influences of dozens of characters in many various scrapped biographies. There is not a character who interacts with my own who does not touch them and leave their mark in some way shape or form. Even writing this inspires me to want to write up my character biographies to give them the respect they deserve.

This was a wonderful little exercise in reflection, thank you greatly for posting it. <3

KAEL AND VAL MENTION??

Since we're doing the fancy font thing (thanks Urrufu), I do have a few myself. These will be my top 3 ONLY, with some honorable mentions!

FELIX JIN-RYUK STARK - #1
Sort of expected if you know me at this point, but Felix has become one of my favorite characters through the period of RPing with him! He's a very well written one, even if a tad frustrating at times (although I adore him dearly) - which is why he manages to keep himself at my personal number one.
I'm also a sucker for blond doctors with mental issues. Shoutout to my Arcade Gannon (Fallout New Vegas) obsession.

KATSUHITO SAIKY - #2
While I've never done much RP beyond a very simple interaction, he's an extremely interesting character to read and hear about. Not only that, but his entire arc (from start to finish) is also very fun to trail after metaphorically speaking. I'd love to interact with him a lot more than what I already have.

INARI D. LENUE - #3
She's a genuine contrast to my main character, and I love that dearly. While she is not one that he trusts fully, he still finds her company entertaining at least - but that's not for me to continue yapping about, as this is my opinion on her. Inari's, once again, very interestingly written and I can't wait to see what comes of her.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

André Stark, Marella L. Đoàn-Stark, Mei Miura, Kaoru Jin-Ryuk Hattori, Rokku Heddo, Aurelia Deryn, & Yurii Togomi-Akiyama

VOLYA MENTIONED!!!!
GAH I LOVE HIM

The characters I love are:
All the Maengs
Hanamura Hamada
Sébastien Monzetsu
Jasper and Chandler Lockwood
Yōichi Taira
Yuna Khang
Leni Rowan
Elowen Monet
Sea Jidaisho
Kumiko Quinn

My reasons are because I know them and they are amazing ppl to roleplay with even if its brief

(Trying to keep this as the characters I mainly saw/interacted with THIS YEAR, there's obviously so many characters I would have a never ending list.

Mei Miura hands down, because he's literally just lore in character form (its impressive how everything he knows has been gathered ICLY, still not over that), but I'd also like to add:

-Youmei Wong (very insightful character and an extremely interesting perspective on life, some of the bars that she's dropped are insane).
-Hye-Ri Fujii (I'm very invested in her lore, and seeing the depth of her character struggles and development has been so enjoyable).
-Carlisle Fox (All of the interactions I've seen involving this man have been absolute cinema).
-Teresa Keating (this woman boils my blood, which means she's a very well executed character. She's a little crazy and I think we need more unhinged characters to keep things interesting.).
-Mei-Lien Saiky (There's so much depth to her character that you definitely don't expect on first glance! And literally so sweet).
-Deno von Moltke (Literally the amount of connections and development this character has seen this year boggles my mind. I love the director archetype, he plays into it so well).
-Pomona Belov (The lore. Also the amount of cult related things (both in lore and ICLY) she's interacted with, has produced such an interesting character, filled with curses, twists and turns, if she was a book character I'd read it so fast).
-Lucio Marnella (The symbolism and mental disorders coming together to form an art piece of a character, with a dream-like whimsy. I literally love the thought that went into this man).

There's literally so many, I tried to remember all the characters I met this year but I fear I couldn't recall all of them.

ohhohoho, i rp a lot ok? so. long ish list. if u see urself on here, hi, if u dont, pls come rp w me ^_^" whole lotta yap btw.

BHEOM'S FAVOURITE CHARACTERS OF 2025:
There are so many more characters I have interacted with, I cherish all the interactions I have with people. I likely have every roleplay screenshotted somewhere to be fair.
Rokku Heddo-Devereux
| Rokku definitely helped shaped both of my characters, Yaqi Qu and Grayson Iovan as a character- roleplaying with 6Pancake's character and getting to know him as a character was genuinely something that I cherish, a well written character and had much fun having different dynamics with them. Rokku Heddo freaks me out tho, fyi. Grayson and Rokku's dynamic, #messy, it was one of my favourite things to cause drama within EMs as well as Yaqi's corruption. UGHHH! I will catch Rokku.
Icarus Devereux
| Icarus surely shaped Yaqi Qu in many ways, a lot of drama within BMD and I really enjoyed their dynamic. The two had their fair share of drama and it dragged on for a while too, Icarus is a really well written character despite him being a rare specimen. Yaqi and Icarus are my shaylas, my family duo in my pocket, I'm gonna catch him. OK?

Shark Meyer
| For sure a someone that I had many interactions with, a really well written character that helped shaped Yaqi Qu as well. I am a Shark Meyer defender till I die!

'Churro'
| This is Yaqi's support animal, watched her go corrupt and go through absolute hell and beyond. This fat cat is the reincarnate of Garfield.

Ehuang Souza
| Someone who surely helped shaped Yaqi Qu as a character considering that's her child, ohhhhhhhohohoh... I can go on and on about this tiny one.

Sachiko Saiky
| This is Grayson's opposition. OK? OK. If anyone sees Sachiko, very intriguing character, hell lot of drama but in the best way possible. Well written character too!

Ishi Atama
| It helped shaped Yaqi Qu as a character, a loooooooooooot . . Fricking hell and beyond from 2024 to middle of 2025. I yearn to see more RP with Yaqi and Ishi.

Reid Denvers
| This one evil. Grayson like him. OK? Anyways, Reid is a really well written character, very interesting, OK wildcard I-C-U. It was honestly really interesting to have some despising arc and just watching Reid be Reid, having Grayson have some grudge against his whole event he had. I yearn for more RP with Reid.

Anubis Kurai
| Do not get me started on this one with Grayson AND Yaqi. OOOOOOOOOOHOHO. He is one evil specimen and really REALLLLY well written as a character.

Katsuhito Saiky-Akihito
| Do I need to dive into how beautifully written Katsuhito is? How interesting the dynamic between him and Grayson is? Katsuhito's character has been a well known astronomical character, someone you find mysterious and irk to have a single interaction with him. Although there weren't as many interactions, each interaction between the two have always been such an interesting one. The way hadeseal writes his character, it's genuinely like reading a whole story you never knew you'd want to read.

Katya Kirishiki
| Such a beautifully written character, absolute cinema. Such a pretty character too. - The way art__class writes about Katya, it's like flowers grow whenever she speaks or breathes. The character is almost like, monotone and robotic in a sense, but so elegant at the same time. She's such a sweet character and really fun to roleplay with. OK! Visit her at shrine, thx.

Seiko Seong
| He messy in Grayson life. OK.

Hudson Vega
| Ohhhoohh, Malson. Hhh.. Malson! Anyways, Hudson Vega is one character for sure. But a character that plays a huge part into Malcolm's life, not only as a partner but as someone who exists. The way Hudson Vega is written and played out, he feels almost real? Like, relatable in the most randomest ways, he is a very random character too. I like that of him. Many roleplays until like crack of dawn, all worth it . . ! ! . .

Carlisle Fox
| He evil. He Grayson opp. OK? - Their dynamic was so interesting, one of my favourite interactions I'd have outside of EMs as Grayson, he was so evil and skittish? He was like a feral orange cat with not much hope but many aspirations for sure. Carlisle was genuinely well written, such an interesting character to know more of.

Mei Miura
| This is Grayson's other son. The two had more interactions this year to where Grayson's character actually broke? It was interesting to me. The way Neeryu narrates Mei, it almost feels so surreal and different to others. Mei's character is almost as mysteriously intriguing the way Katsuhito is written too, it's genuinely so fun to understand the drama Mei goes through and to even know him as a character.

Juanito Souza
| Yaqi's partner in crime and in general. In my head. They are married already. But, seriously, this one played a serious part to Yaqi's life and shaped her character as a whole, despite being there for only so little yet so much of it. A genuinely well written character, holy plot twist though.

Nie Kien
| I like Nie Kien. I also like glazing Milo's characters because I big fan. BUT SERIOUSLY! Nie was such an interesting character to roleplay with from my many characters- Grayson to even my scrapped EMS characters.

Huali Hiwahiwa
| CRASHOUT CENTRAL! Huali had a few interactions with both Yaqi and Grayson, mainly Yaqi at the time. He is surely a cartoony character, like the main character of a cartoon where his life is literally sunshine and doom. It's such an interesting concept. But genuinely, Huali is written so nicely to where you're really hooked by whatever he has to go on about.

Ella Repoza
| Ella Repoza is such a beautifully written character, genuinely. A very mysterious one at best. The type of person you'd hear of and want to know more. - Someone who helped shape Malcolm Gray and my own spirit character, Tamashi. I could go on and on about the three, but Ella is genuinely such a well written character like she's straight out of a fairytale.

'Takayama'
| IIIHATETHISSPIRTIWTIHMYLIFEBUTWEHADGREATRPITPMO.

Seikai Saiky
| Grayson and Seikai, ooooooouhh... The two have a rocky yet stable relationship in the best way possible, this whole family is actually messed up but in a good way? Anyways, Seikai's character is really well written the way I mention it with anyone else. Becauuuse, it is very true. I've had multiple interactions, from familyRP with Seikai to even JockRP with Malcolm. The way Seikai interacts differently between his family to his friends, it's cool to see the difference.

Soushi Saiky
| I think this was a mix of 2024 and 2025 unless I'm crayz. Soushi was a crazy man but someone really interesting when it came to BMD interactions, sure we didn't do many RP interactions due to being on calls majority of the time, but Soushi was surely a good character in Yaqi's life, leading something with that character and actually doing things- it was fun. o7 cap tho.

Deno Von Moltke
| This one is one well written character to where he PMO. Deno as character has really grown into a whole new story, like, I highkey am gonna glaze this character. Deno's a well written character from start to now, the roleplay between Deno and Iolana, their odd dynamic and hatred and rivalry between each other, it's such an interesting thing to me. The way Deno is written and played out makes me really want to interact more, he's such an odd wildcard in the best way possible.

Leo Zindel
| This one helped shape my former gangRP character of like three years into a whole different character, it helped me understand my own character more throughout the RP we did. It made gangRP genuinely fun to do when there's personality into it.

Mirai Khang
| This one helped shaped Malcolm Gray as a whole from when I started playing him. The way rosechu_ plays Mirai, it's genuinely really interesting. The way she's written and perceived, the way she acts and speaks, genuinely one of the most interesting tiny characters I've ever had interacted with.

Kazuo DeLuca
| A little honourable mention, I enjoyed their roleplay as Tamashi and Kazuo, the little arson event of the year. I've always been aware of his character being very interesting, he's quite the character for sure.

Yaban Heddo
| This one was part of Yaqi's life for a while within the two years I've had her as a character, but 2025 was surely a redemption arc between the two. Something I find really sweet and it helped a lot within both of their lives.

Circe Komorebi
| This is Yaqi's side chic. OK. - But, I've known the character for a few years now, as little of the RP we ever got, Circe is a very interesting character. Very . . Out there but not? Horrible luck though.

Jhene Lise
| Such a dramatic character in the best way possible, really helps shaping my new character- their interactions really hurt me tho, OK?

HONORABLE MENTIONS
| Macias WashingMachine, Lorenzo Ferrera, Ji-Na Minori, Leni Rowan, EMS and Cheer as a whole, Luke Laurier, Cadell Wen, Aki Kyoshiro, Liliana Mazza, Aeris Navvarre, entirety of Mirage, Misaki Ai, Runa Rokkaku, Mavros Heddo, and really anyone else.

ohhohoho, i rp a lot ok? so. long ish list. if u see urself on here, hi, if u dont, pls come rp w me ^_^" whole lotta yap btw.

CADELL WEN, NIE KIEN, AND JUANITO SOUZA MENTION!!!!!!!! WHEHEHEH

<3 my son; i'm always open for naiya roleplay

Icarus Devereux
| Icarus surely shaped Yaqi Qu in many ways, a lot of drama within BMD and I really enjoyed their dynamic. The two had their fair share of drama and it dragged on for a while too, Icarus is a really well written character despite him being a rare specimen. Yaqi and Icarus are my shaylas, my family duo in my pocket, I'm gonna catch him. OK?
he will return soon. i love yaqi qu

I'm so honored that people think of my characters when I am no longer active on the server, it brings a tear to my eye.

A few of my favourites included Sachiko Saiky, The Belov twins and their father, Mei Miura, Katsuhito Saiky-Akihito, Himari, Mita, Grayson Saiky-Akihito, Tiffany Takagi, Harry Shima, Mei-Lien Saiky, Cindy Wong and last but not least, everybody else!

Please continue to be creative in the new year with characters with their never-ending development. Being able to roleplay properly is a skill not many have and you all have it!

so i have bad memory so uhm a lot of u wont be here IM SORRY

Nigiri Shushimi?
Thats how you spell it? maybe? YEAH?
Nigiri is Koi’s imaginary son, i love bullying him so its kind of top tier. He’s an overall well written character and i love the boosts of lore I get when interacting with him DEFINITELY not a shrine bias but learning about nigiri from the start has been such a joy

Katsuhito Saiky-Akeeheeetoe?
Hes EDGY so thats cool. koi is constantly stressed out when he is around and his coworkers dont make it any better so its like top tier entertainment for me. he causes too much unintentional chaos. KOI LITERALLY PASSED OUT MID MAKING THIS MANS OOLONG TEA AND SHRINE STAFF JUST STOOD THERE BULLYING HIM

ROXANNE HOU (hoe)
She hates Benoît, like a lot. i love her, she is such a diva. SHE PUTS BENO IN HIS PLACE CONSTANTLY. without her fashion club probably would have all been sacrificed by now. shes a certified hater and i love it

AMAI SHINZO (SHITZO)
dude i love amai, probably at the top of the list just because she is such a lovable and funny character. she is like the result of 90% of my entertainment in shrine. she and koi are such a chaotic duo its insane also again bullying amai brings joy to my srp life. koi has gone THROUGH it with her

MAKAYLA CHEN
MAKAYLAAAAAAAA koi’s kid and overall a well written character too. im always discovering something new about makayla and she is also the result of my entertainment in srp itself so…. i love learning about makaylas lore and seeing her edgyness from time to time

JEANETTE MILLER
i literally JUST met this character TODAY but she is absolutely hilarious i love her. i love her lore and just the way she is played out sm. she is a bit of a nerd and i love nerdy characters so +1 very entertaining interaction. i want to interact with this character more!!

BENICIOIS WATCHER definitely not how you spell his name. koi hates his guts and the entire watcher familys guts but he offered much entertainment in making koi tweak out, (on the edgy list)

JANE R. GENESIS TOGOMI
mentioned here as the thug priest she very well is. ANOTHER edgy person who makes koi tweak out. Jane is FRIGHTENING literally and despite not interacting much koi respects her!! well… mainly respect for his own life but

HONORARY MENTIONS
MATEO AKORI AND WREN AKORI!!!!! also those two characters who constantly bring food up to shrine i love them. IDK BUT U KNOW WHO U ARE (bad memory leave me alone and im too lazy to check okay bye srp)
