Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
Teachers are the embodiment of the school image. Teachers prepare the young generations of their time and mold them into functioning members of society. Without teachers to teach important subjects like History, math, and reading, There will be no shops, business owners, politicians, and policemen. History is also an important subject as it's important to know, not only how your own country came to be, but the world. I was taught that history repeats itself. We should know how society came to be. Without art, Physical education, and performing arts, we would have no entertainment. Art prepares our art kids to potentially be the next Butch Hartman, or Wald Disney. Without teachers there would be no society. No one to govern our cities and countries. The world would go up in flames without the knowledge needed to keep society running. I was taught that math is in pretty much everything you do. Let's say you go into wood working, math is needed to get the exact measurements to cut the wood. What if you get into culinary? You will need math to measure ingredients. Math is everywhere and is just as important as reading, if not. more important.
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?:
Yes, I understand I can lose my position if I am inactive.
Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?:
Yes, I understand I need training. You can never learn to much.

What is your character's nationality?:
Daniel is American
What is your preferred subject to teach?:

Describe your character:

Daniel is a rather skinny fellow and has pleasant facial features and is a fun loving guy who has no hate for anyone. He is taught to love everyone despite how he is treated. He is dressed casually most of the time, yet he dresses neatly for work. He has a love for history and learning and has strived to be a teacher since he was young. He is strict when it comes to discipline and does what needs to be done. Daniel is a hardworking man and is always striving to better himself. He was taught integrity, will power and perseverance when he was in his teenage years, studying to reach his goals. If there is something he cannot do, he will find a way to get it done, even if he needs to call for help. Daniel has a lot of love in his heart and loves to see people smile.
Ever since arriving in Karakura Japan, Daniel has missed his family in Delaware. To Daniel, family is everything and would be lost without them. His family has been profoundly supportive in his decision in expanding his horizons and moving to Japan. He has a mindset that stifles his personal growth of academics and feels moving to Japan will help him in his journey in overcoming this obstacle. He reads daily to help himself learn and better himself. Daniel has always been not only a caring man but a family man who values togetherness and human interaction and one day strives to see his family back in Delaware. Losing family would destroy him.
He lived in Delaware for about 3 years till his family moved to Japan due to his father's job. He had a hard time fitting in, in a new country at first, but he adapted quickly. He met a friend, who helped him adapt to the Japanese language. The two have been friends since they were practically babies. This move changed him, he was bitter for a while, but since adapting to Japanese culture, Daniel became a better behaving kid. He was an ill behaving child when he was three. Thankfully, his new friend was a good influence on him and helped him adapt. Ever since then, he felt he should repay her for giving him the most precious give one can give, friendship.
What is your character's outlook on students and co-workers?:
Daniel as explained above is a caring individual who will do anything he can to help others. He wants to see others, no matter who they are, succeed in anything they are striving for. During work if he sees a coworker struggling, he will do what he can to assist. Daniel is happy to help in any way he can. If he sees a student struggling, he will personally go out of his way to make sure that student is set with whatever they are working on. This doesn't stop at their schoolwork and future. He will stem in when he sees a child is getting bullied. Daniel is a man who cares about the well being and safely of others.
Daniel notices others may have a competitive attitude when it comes to working along side their co workers. Daniel disagrees on that mindset and believes we are all on a team and are meant to uplift and inspire each other. He tells his students it is important to keep a keep a positive mindset about your co workers and treat each other like they are family. "You are a team!" He would tell them. Our soul duty as teachers is to mold and create functioning members of society and do what we can to help each other help our students.
What is your character's motivation for teaching?:
Daniel was exposed to a lot of positive role models and had teachers who inspired him to become a teacher. Daniel's younger cousin during childhood is his pride and joy. He loved to educate his cousin the best he can, when he knew the answers. He's always had a joy for helping and teaching kids in any way he can. He also has a love for children and loves to do what he can for them and offers valuable advice when he feels it's needed. And will never turn down a child in need, depending on what is needed. The spark of interest and discovery is a magical thing to see in a child's eyes.
Daniel's love for teaching comes from his passion to see others grow and become better versions of themselves. With this mentality, he studied hard in high school as well as collage. Back in the states, he felt immense joy helping his younger sister Matilda with her homework. The look of joy on her face melted his heart when she got something right. The joy she displays is his own reward for helping her. This sparked his desire for going on to study teaching. From then on he wasted no time and studied night and day. He still helped his sister. He loves his sister dearly and would do anything for her.

Roleplay Scenarios
A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
Daniel is a patient man and will go over the content as many times as the child needs. He will personally go over the content after class and give the child extra help. Encouraging the child's friends and classmates to assist can go a long way as well. Parables can also be used to help students familiarize with the content. Parables use topics of interests pertaining to the student to help them not only understand but remember as the parable was about something they like. He used parables ho help his sister when they were kids. Encouraging the students to try harder and push themselves to their limits will help. Pushing incentives like rewards such as candy can help. Seeing the joy in their faces is rewarding to Mr. Lamport, he enjoys seeing them succeed. The kids' joy upon learning and getting better brings a smile to his face every time. Daniel takes his job very seriously, and his love for children and his teaching job fuels his ability to uplift his students and co-workers.
A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
Daniel is patient like I mentioned above. He will give 3 warnings to keep quiet. If that doesn't work, Daniel will threaten a detention. Disciplining and punishing children requires patience and it's important to give incentives to behave better. I have come up with a 3 point warning system for getting the class to behave better. Daniel will announce the system in every class and will issue a point to any student that calls out, swears, or does anything that disrupts the class in any way, shape, or form. Once the child has 3 points, he or she will get kicked out of their class with a detention slip in their naughty little hands. Subtle humiliation can go along way in disciplining children as when all eyes are angry at one child, they will aspire to behave better. Bettering one's self is something Daniel will work upon with his students once he is in the classroom. He cares about his students enough to be strict and enforce rules and make sure his students learn something. Even if that something is respect.
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
Wars aren't the only part of history, it is more than that. We have artists of all kinds and how the world came to be and why things are the way they are today. Therefore an idea for an interactive class idea came to mind. We can make use of historical artists and have these students recreate old famous art created long ago, or create their best painting in the style of old artists like Picasso or Bob Ross. Another thing is to write up an invention idea in the style of the American Revolution. Recreating and making your own invention or idea from someone else's work can help not only boost creativity, but will help teach that part of history.
Continuing with the idea of staying away from reenacting or doing anything with wars. Let's explore presidents, going over presidents and creating a game where the students guess facts about a particular president I mention. For 2 classes I can speed run facts about each or any more famous president and asking if anyone knows anything about that particular president. Last class of the day or next day I will start the game. I have a couple ideas on what kinds of games. For example, I can do this in a giant board game somewhere in the school. (If allowed, if not that's okay, I can do it in my classroom, I've done it before.) Another idea is to have them go to a particular corner they think is the correct answer.
Exploring the space race with fun games can help students learn about what happened and who did what. What if we go back to recreating as I mentioned before and have the students create their own idea of a rocket of their own and theoretically race them? Students will describe their idea of a rocket and can /roll to see who reached the moon first. If it's a tie they will go again. and the next student to race will go up against the previous winner. This will help their creativity and help learn about the space race.
