Describe your activity on the server:
I am extremely active on the server and on Discord as I currently work from home. This meaning, I join the server every day and am able to get online when needed for training. At the moment, I am currently in Teacher faction. So, I plan to divide my time between these factions to make sure I am keeping up with my activity on each. I always ensure that I am allocating enough time between any responsibilities I have on SchoolRP. If I were to join this faction, I would make it a priority to meet the expected quota.

What is your timezone?:

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
I have a variety of roleplay experiences on and off of this server. On this server, I have been a part of the faculty team, as a teacher. This meaning, I have to do a lot of fast-paced roleplay with a range of different players each day. It also gives me some experience with working within a team. As well as that, I have experienced a lot of types of roleplaying through different characters. I started roleplaying quite young when I joined some Discord school roleplay servers, in here I would roleplay as a student with the use of channels and eventually join different Minecraft servers to roleplay in. This previous experience allowed me to gain a basic knowledge of roleplaying before joining SRP. When I joined SRP, I learned more about roleplaying and character creation, as well as that, I have done a lot of DetailRP, in which I have very much enjoyed.

I first started with joining the Baseball team which allowed me to develop my characters further and begin to roleplay with a range of different people. I then progressed into the Teacher faction. In teacher faction, I learned more about detailing my roleplay.

What is your motivation for applying?
I have always been interested in two factions in specific. The first, has always been Teacher faction, due to it enabling me to express my creativity with lesson planning and teaching a passion of mine, performing arts. The second, was the hospital faction. This was one of the first factions I had interacted with on the server. I walked into the hospital when my character had fractured a bone in his leg, in doing this, I was able to roleplay with some of the hospital staff and found a love for what they do. I would also like to challenge myself and expand the areas in where I roleplay. I have yet to expand in roleplaying outside of the School and feel as though this would be the most rewarding and interesting path for me to take. I believe that I have the motivation and activity for the team and I would love to be a part of this side of the server.

The opportunity to apply for Psychiatrist in specific was the most convincing part for me however. This is due to my love for the subject psychology and talking to people. I have always loved observing people and learning about how the human mind works in life, so to be able to roleplay out another passion of mine would be a great opportunity. From what I have seen and heard so far, the hospital faction is talked about highly. I would love to be able to be a part of this faction and be a part of a different side of the server to what I am used to. Becoming a psychiatrist would help challenge me in my knowledge of psychology and challenge my roleplaying abilities. This is what is motivating me to apply.

Which role are you applying for?

I am applying for the role of Psychiatrist.

What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?

Ryōsuke Shinoda grew up as an only child, in a small town called Yoshino. A town hidden away in the Kii mountain range. Ryō grew up with his mother, Akemi Shinoda. They were extremely close, especially because Ryō grew up without many friends, so he would come home from school and spend the day with his mother. He never knew his father, he had left them when Ryō was 4 years old, as he couldn’t handle the life of a parent. He was looking to travel the world, to see new places and explore, rather than settle down with a family. Ryō Shinoda kept to himself through his school years, he didn’t fit into any clique at school. He was not anti-social by any means; he would try to talk to everyone around him at times, but he didn’t make any long-lasting friendships through this era of his life. He did not mind being alone though, he rather enjoyed it. He grew up quite content and happy with where he was in life, he would be excited to get back from school to spend time with his mother. They would often bake together, go on walks around the mountains and spend time in a local cafe called Kitetsu Cafe. They would get cups of hot chocolate and talk about their days. Life was good in Yoshino, that was until Ryō turned 18 and things took a turn.

His mother was working as a waitress at a restaurant nearby, but this was not the life she wanted anymore, she had always wanted more for herself than that. It began to affect her mental well-being. She eventually ended up quitting that job to look for other opportunities, however, being a small town, Yoshino did not have as many job opportunities. With this, his mother did not find another job and ended up getting them both kicked out of their house in Yoshino. So, Ryō and his mother had to move into his grandparent's house. However, his grandparents lived in a town called Karakura.

His mother was concerned about the move to Karakura and how that would affect Ryō, but Ryō did not care where he was, as long as he was with his mother, he was happy. In fact, through their moving to Karakura, Ryō made friendships and started to go out more. He would meet new people at school and even hang out with them after school in the local parks. As time passed and he grew up, teachers would often ask him what he wanted to do as a career, however, Ryō would never know how to answer that. He had no idea what he wanted to do. He hadn’t thought too much about careers.

So, as he ascended into college, he took what people said were the easiest subjects to learn. He studied health and social care, psychology and history. He was not particularly interested in any of them, but they were the easiest ones to take at the time, so he did. Ryō was naturally quite good at Psychology and as he progressed through classes, he found a liking for the subject. He had harnessed a passion for the way the human mind works and started focusing on this class more than others. He would put extra research into the variety of theories that people have come up with to explain different mental health conditions and behaviours in humans. This led him to study it at a higher level in University too. At University, he decided to finally move out and into an apartment with friends. He would manage his time well, with his studies and seeing his mother at the family store on weekends to catch up on what had been happening.

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY

What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?

Ryōsuke's medical speciality is Psychiatrity. More information about him learning this can be seen in his backstory. Psychiatrity was his main focus as he delve into studying more about the biological and psychological reasoning behind mental illness and disorders. Something about how the human brain worked and how backgrounds, growing up and events in peoples lives can affect the mental well-being of others was something that deeply interested him, growing up. He focused mainly on why people felt the way they felt with mental illness.

However, during his time at university, he would explore different areas of therapy. So, Ryō has took pediatric courses during his time at university. He delve into the psychological health of children as it was part of his course. This was in no means his specialty, but it is worth mentioning. He has worked with people of all ages before, regarding their mental well-being and health.

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
Mental Health Charity: For 2 years, Ryōsuke had volunteered at a mental health charity to help those in need. Here, he was able to experience putting his knowledge into action with speaking to people, helping those that need it, but cannot pay for it and learned a lot about real experiences and issues people are facing with their mental health. Ryō volunteered by helping aid those struggling with mental illnesses and helped by raising money for those that cannot afford diagnoses and therapy check ups. Additionally, in this charity, Ryō would often provide counselling and resources to those in need.

Therapy Assistance: Through studying psychology at university, Ryō was given the opportunity to work alongside psychiatrists for experience. His university offered him the ability to aid in the****utic sessions and this helped put his knowledge to good use. In being the assistant, he sat alongside a the****** in their room whilst speaking to a patient. In doing this, he was able to experience working in this position. He gained a lot more knowledge of actually aiding others in their mental health needs and assisted in giving the patient methods to help cope with their mental illness. This was a rewarding opportunity for Ryō.

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE

Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?

Before you stood Ryōsuke Shinoda, at 29 years old. He was a charming, young-looking man. He had dark blonde hair and eyes that glimmered green. Ryō was quite a tall man, standing at 6 foot 1 inches. Despite his lack of attendance at the gym, he had quite the athletic build. He would have a very minimalistic fashion sense, usually wearing an oversized white t-shirt, a black jumper and some dark blue, baggy jeans. He has a lot of pride in his fashion sense and will often talk about fashion quite a bit. Others would often look at him and feel a sense of warmth, a sense of security and familiarity. He had a smile that would give great comfortability and genuinely. Easily approachable, Ryōsuke would chat with others and be very socialable, afterall, he was very extroverted, despite his lack of friendships at a young age. However, he would not really talk too much about his own mental health or his own struggles with people. Others may perceive him as having his life together and no worries at all.

How does your character act around the hospital?
Ryōsuke believes deeply in the importance of being professional in the workplace. However, he will happily converse with those around him, joke and have a little fun at times. He will be very sure that anything he does remains professional, whilst also being sure to uplift those around him and better people's days. Knowing what he knows about psychology, he understands that even the smallest of interactions between people can make a difference. He is eager to help anyone in need and lighten the stress of his fellow co-workers. Therefore, he would be willing to help with any situations at hand, help aid his co-workers in dealing with patients and be there for those that require assistance in the medical room. Ryō brings a fresh new perspective and light to the hospital, he loves what he does and is extremely passionate in his field, this meaning he comes to work with a smile on his face, ready to assist and aid those that need it.

Does your character function better on their own or with others?
This would depend on the circumstances. If it is a professional matter, whereas he needs to do his job and treat a patient, he functions better alone, he would never deny help or advice, but he prefers to focus and talk to his patients one on one. However, outside of work, he functions better with other people. He likes to meet new people, talk about his interests, make friendships and complete tasks with others being around.
