What is your time zone?:
Eastern Standard Time (EST)
Describe your activity on the server:
I am very active on the SchoolRP server! I play SRP pretty much every day, and I try to attend as many of the events as I can. I am working in real life, so there are times throughout the day when I won't be online. With that being said, I always find time to play and roleplay with my friends and others in the community after work and during the weekends! I really enjoy my time on the server, and I plan on remaining an active player.
When it comes to the Discord servers, I try to be relatively active. I am most active in the club servers my characters are in. With that being said, I do check out all the announcements made in the different Discord servers.
Similarly, I am not very active on forums other than reading and posting application threads.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive, you will be demoted?:
Yes, I understand that if I am inactive, I will be demoted. I plan to continue being an active player, and I will ensure that I am meeting the expectations.
School Employee Role you are applying for?:
Chef
In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:
The role of a chef is to provide students and staff with balanced meals throughout the day during breakfast and lunchtime. A proper diet plays an important role in brain development, and that means that time, consideration, and love should be put into every meal! Not only are chefs expected to cook dishes for students and faculty, but they are also responsible for taking care of the kitchen and the stations they operate in. In addition to tending to their culinary duties, chefs also help with monitoring the school, just like any other faculty member. They are able to reprimand students and are expected to promote a safe environment by preventing altercations between students.
What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:
Roleplaying has been something I've done for many years on several different platforms. I've always loved roleplaying and the different experiences that come with it! In addition to roleplaying on various Minecraft servers, I've also done a lot of roleplaying on Roblox, on games such as Royal High, Robloxian Highschool, Bloxburg, and WCUE. Throughout the years, I was able to meet so many different people and pick up different roleplaying techniques. Being able to roleplay on SRP opened my opportunity to improve my roleplaying abilities, because I was exposed to so many fantastic roleplayers. I have always loved detail rp, and I try to incorporate it whenever I can during different roleplaying scenarios. I do my best to apply detail to as many scenarios as I can, in addition to remaining in character during these times. Not only does that make the experience more engaging, but it also allows me to meaningfully build on my characters and further develop their personalities and mannerisms. I have gotten some of the best experiences in roleplaying on this server, and every moment has been extremely memorable. A few months ago, I was accepted into the hospital faction, and this allowed me to greatly improve my roleplaying skills. It allows me the opportunity to expand upon various scenarios and help to create a more engaging experience for others. One of my biggest motivations for joining this faction, specifically within the Chef department, is my passion for cooking RP! I find ways to incorporate it into the use of each of my characters, and I would honestly love an opportunity to truly dedicate a character to it. My love for cooking rp is reflected in different ways. One of my current characters is a member of the cooking club. I found that being around people who also enjoy detailed cooking RP is something that's right up my alley, as I enjoy cooking in real life as well. With that being said, I am looking forward to being able to have a similar experience with the other chefs in the faction. I change the way that I cook depending on the character, as not all are the best cooks, nor do they all have a passion for cooking. I also enjoy hosting dinner parties and doing cooking RP during gatherings with my friends.
Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:
I would like to join the school employee faction because I think it would be a really fun experience. As I mentioned previously, something I love about roleplaying is getting unique experiences by playing with others, and most importantly, making new friends! There are so many people on the server, and this will allow me to become more involved with the SRP community and contribute positively as a whole! I’m really interested in getting to make more friends, and I think this will help me with that a lot. Not only am I interested in making new connections with other members of the SRP community, but I am also hoping to improve my roleplaying abilities through this faction. I believe this is a fantastic way to see different role-playing styles and engage with an even wider range of players. This would be an entirely new scenario for me, and while I have done plenty of cookingrp in the past, I have never been in the school employee faction. As I mentioned earlier, I would love to be able to dedicate a character to cookingrp, because it's one of my favorite things to do on the server and I somehow manage to do it on each of my characters, even if they dislike cooking or aren't necessarily good at it. This would be able to put it to good use by being able to contribute to the faction and interact with different players. Honestly, becoming a chef in this faction has been something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, and I’d love to have the opportunity to.

Situations
/*Do not mention use of FearRP*/
During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:
Darla took a few seconds to process what was said to her. As her brows lowered, her eyes moved to the student. Being a gentle spirit, it was only natural that a deep frown distorted her features. She was disappointed in the student's language. Despite their hostility towards her, she made it an effort to remain kind but firm. “I'm disappointed that you would speak ta’ me that way,” she stated, wondering if the student was cranky because they hadn't eaten anything yet. After a moment, she released a gentle sigh, crossing her arms over her form. "You should know that disrespectin’ faculty- or anyone, for that matter- is not okay". She added, dusting off her apron. Darla was sure this didn't occur out of malice, and she understood that the student could be going through something. Circling behind the counter, she fetched a bowl from the cupboard. Then, she made a beeline for the rice cooker. She shoveled on a hearty helping of rice and promptly returned to the student, handing it over with a look of mild concern. “I understand if you’re havin’ a hard day, sugar. But ya’ can't go around with an angry mind and an angry tum’.” She advised gingerly, a soft smile stretching across her face. “If ya’ need someone ta’ talk to, I’ve got two listenin’ ears. For now though, try to calm down, okay? I’d hate for you to go to detention, but. . we can't have people runnin’ round insultin’ others.”
You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:
Darla was in the middle of preparing lunch when she heard the echo of her radio. Moving quickly into action, she hadn’t even realised she was still carrying the spatula she was using to flip the stir-fried rice she planned on serving. “Both of you, stop that! Stop it right this instant!” She demanded, a deep wrinkle creasing between her brows as they furrowed and she flippantly waved around her spatula with each syllable.
With the physical altercation still being pursued, she released an exasperated sigh and shoved her spatula into the pocket of her apron. She slipped off her nylon gloves, tucking them away as well. Then, she approached the students; she didn't want to hurt them, nor did she want them to hurt each other. She wedged both her arms between the pair, attempting to separate them. “Both-. . BOTH OF YOU- NEED TA’ STOP THIS FIGHTIN’! CUT IT OUT!” Darla demanded, continuing to separate the students with all her might.
Once the students were separated, she huffed, blowing a strand of her hair out of her face, as it was now a bit messy and disheveled. “My goodness. . . the two of ya’ll are actin’ like animals! I'm gonna have to give y'all both detention,” she informed them, taking out the slips and handing them to either of them. “Head on down to the nurse's office and get yer'selves checked out… separately,” she added gently, her twisted features finally relaxing. Darla was likely to check on both of them later, to make sure they were both doing okay.
Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:
Clearly taken aback by what she witnessed, an audible gasp slipped through Darla's lips. She inspected her coworker, the hand that covered her mouth slowly moving to her cheek. Darla would approach her peer if the gasp hadn't already made her presence known. While she was certain of what she saw, she wanted an explanation. After discussing the debacle with her coworker, she reminded them that their behavior was inappropriate and inquired if they were aware that they were behaving in a manner that impinged on the safety of students and faculty. Darla did her best to reason with her peer, hoping that they could understand why their actions were unacceptable. Additionally, she expressed to them that if this behavior continues, she would have to report them. Figuring it’d be best to steer clear of this staff member for her own safety, she’d do her best to limit interactions with them. However, she keeps her eyes and ears open for any suspicious or undesirable activity.
When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
Having a bubbly and energetic personality, Darla is quite the chatterbox, rambling on about events in her life, plans that she has, and the latest gossip. Being rather outgoing and having a never-ending amount of topics to talk about, she could probably have a conversation with a rock and not get bored. She loves seeing familiar faces in the breakroom, and never wastes any time approaching her coworkers and asking about their day. At times, she can overshare, however, it is simply a reflection of her genuine and trusting nature. She has a way about her that makes even the most reserved individuals feel included. In times when her coworkers are feeling stressed and overwhelmed, she is quick to catch on, being extremely emotionally intelligent, despite her sometimes absent-minded nature. Darla believes the first thing you need to feel better is a warm meal and a big hug. Of course, she isn't going to push the physical boundaries of her coworkers, but she is more than happy to prepare them a sweet treat. Sometimes though, Darla enjoys her alone time. During calmer days, she might find herself huddled up, watching K-dramas on her phone, which might prompt the occasional gasp or squeal, but she's quick to quiet down her racket and apologize for any disturbances.
Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst on your chosen role:
"Let's get cookin'!"
/me [Darla Beau] scurried her way over to the sink. She rolled up her sleeves and scrubbed suds into her hands. The box of disposable gloves was on the counter nearby, and she plucked a pair from it, slipping them on with ease. Now, it was time to get to work! Today, Darla was going to prepare unagi over rice, a classic dish that consists of freshwater eel, glazed in a savory sauce, and a similar tofu option for those with dietary restrictions. Of course, she had to start by preheating the oven, setting it to 350 degrees. Then, Darla prepped the eel and the alternative option, tofu. Using several large baking trays, she spaced the fillets out evenly. Once the oven was preheated, she wrapped a loose layer of foil over each of the baking pans, tucking the corners in. Then, she popped each of the trays into the oven. While the eel and tofu were baking, she decided to prepare the sauce. With a large saucepan, she combined her ingredients, which consisted of soy sauce, mirin, rice vinegar, and sugar. A lovely aroma filled the kitchen as the sauce began to simmer. As she watched it bubble, she lowered the heat. This allowed the sauce to thicken, and she used a silicone spatula to slowly turn the mixture, using the edge to scoop and fold sauce from the sides of the pan. By now, the eel and tofu were done baking, and she slipped on her oven mitts, carefully removing each pan from the oven. Prying back the foil, steam clouded her vision. She was nearly done, scooping the unagi sauce into a smaller bowl, she used a sauce brush to lather the mixture over the baked eel, and a separate one for the tofu. A smile stretched across her face as she put her oven mitts right back on and placed the pans back into the oven. This time, she would only leave it for a few minutes, uncovered. In the meantime, she heated up the rice cooker. Soon enough, the unagi was ready to be taken out of the oven, the sauce was shiny and caramelized. Now, what kind of chef would she be if she didn't taste test it? Darla scooped the corner of an unagi fillet with her chopsticks, she blew on it, not waiting for it to cool down. She didn't mind burning her tongue a little, she wanted a bite! She simply melted at the flavors, shaking her head and placing her hand on her hip. "Mm, mm, mmh!" She waved around her chopsticks and exhaled. "Ya' did it again, Darla. Perfect." With the unagi ready to go and the rice warmed up, it was time to serve.
"A lil' sugar can make a whole day sweeter!"
/me [Darla Beau] was tending to the sticky tables, spraying them with cleaning solution and wiping them vigorously with a rag. She hummed some song she'd heard a thousand times, but somehow knew none of the lyrics to. There seemed to be a strange noise that wouldn't go away, each time she thought it was gone, it came right on back. At first, she wondered if she was imagining things, but after the tenth time, it was hard to ignore. Setting the spray bottle to the side, she laid the rag over it. Slowly, she approached the sound, grimacing lightly as she peered around one of the many pillars in the cafeteria. Bracing herself, she wondered if it could be a ghost! That's what she gets for watching that scary movie last night... but in her defense, the title sounded like a rom-com. After taking a deep breath, she whirled around the corner! Her eyes fluttered vigorously, surprised but relieved to see it wasn't a ghost, but a student. Her relief, though, was short-lasting, as she met the student's eyes and saw theirs were red and flooding with tears. "Oh, honeybun..." she cooed, the corners of her mouth drooping into a frown as she knelt down beside them and extended a hand to their shoulder. "What's got ya' down?" she inquired gently. Darla nodded along, listening intently to the student as they spoke about their quells. As they concluded, she clicked her tongue, taking in the student for a brief hug, then, with both hands on their shoulder, she replied. "I'm sorry that's all goin' on.. I know how hard those things can be..." she affirmed, standing up and helping them up as well. "How 'bout we get ya' cleaned up, then we can figure out somethin' together over a cup of hot cocoa!"
"Aww, crumbs. . I did it again, didn't I?"
/me [Darla Beau] popped her head into the break room, noticing that there were a few of her coworkers inside. She tried to bite back a huge grin, but she couldn't help it, she was never good at keeping surprises. Maneuvering a dish behind her back, she entered the room. "How're ya'll doin' today?" Darla cooed, unintentionally too obvious with her approach. "Well, I might have somethin' to make your day a little sweeter!" She moved forward, revealing the angel cake she prepared! "Tadaa!" Placing the dish onto the table, she tugged a pair of disposable gloves from the pockets of her apron, slipping them on. Then, she glanced in either direction, realizing she forgot the plates and utensils. "Aw, fiddlesticks... just hold on! I'll be right back!" She batted her hands in the air, peering over her shoulder a few times before she scampered to the kitchen. By the time she returned, the next period had begun, and her coworkers scattered to tend to their duties. "Man. . ." she muttered, plopping down with a pout. Resting her elbow on the table, she held her head up. Her eyes flickered towards the cake dish a few times, then, she tugged a spoon out of her pocket. "Oh, what the heck." She gave in, taking a big spoonful straight from the cake and shoveling it into her mouth. Instantly, she perked up, pleased with her work. She did a little wriggle, giddy. "They don't even know what they're missing out on," she sighed gingerly with a soft smile, then her brows quirked as she realized she'd been talking to herself. After glancing in either direction, she cut away the slice she scooped a portion from. She left the remainder in the break room for her coworkers to later enjoy.

In-Character Section
(Pretend your character is filling this out, not you)
Full Name (First & Last only):
Darla Beau
Darla entered the room, her eyes flickering around as she looked at the decor. Once her gaze met that of the interviewer, a wide smile tugged at her cheeks, and she took a seat in front of them. "G'mornin'! I'm Darla Beau, it's nice to meet'cha." Extending outwards, she offered a two-handed handshake. Then, she retracted her hold, her hands falling to her lap.
Title (Mr, Mrs, Miss):
Miss
Glancing to the side for a moment, she chuckled. "Miss is just fine! But who knows, that could always change to Misses!" she joked, lightly batting her hand, amused by herself. "Funny enough though, my momma still goes by Miss, even after bein' married to my pa for all these years," she added.
Preferred Name:
Darla
Tilting her head slightly, she figured this question was pretty straightforward. "I don't really mind bein' called anythin'. Darla, Beau, Miss Darla, Miss Beau. . ." She explained, raising both her hands to tidy up the loose strands of her bun. "Actually, Darla is just fine, mhm," she concluded after a brief moment of consideration. Then, after a few seconds, she perked up, her smile returning as she met the interviewer's gaze, waiting for the next question.
Age (Minimum is 25):
25
After a moment of silence, Darla quirked a brow, her smile looming as she turned her head ever so slightly. "Where I'm from, ya' shouldn't ask a lady her age." She paused for a few seconds, and then she laughed. "Oh, I'm just pullin' yer' leg! I'm twenty-five years old. Technically twenty-five and three quarters. I just had my half birthday, and my sister baked me half a birthday cake to celebrate! It was all so sweet. . . the cake, and her bakin' it!" She recalled the events of her half birthday fondly.
Gender:
Female
"I am a female," Darla replied, figuring there wasn't much more to add. It was a straightforward question, with a straightforward answer.
Academic Degree:
Major(s): Culinary Arts, Culinary Sciences
Minors: Baking and Pastry Arts
Darla nodded, listening to the question prompted by the interviewer. "Well, I was livin' in the States, I went to Chef John Folse Culinary Institute. That's where I got my degrees! I dual majored in Culinary Arts and Culinary Sciences, and then I had a minor in Bakin' and Pastry Arts, which was really fun because I was workin' part-time at a bakery back then." She said with a ginger sigh. "It was a small family-owned business.. I wonder how they're doin'. Maybe I should call . ."
Nationality:
Danish, African-American
"I was born in southern Louisiana and lived there my whole life. Honestly, I didn't get to do much travelin', but there weren't many places I wanted to go either. " Darla paused for a second before continuing. "My momma's from Denmark, though. I've been there once, but I was too young to remember any of it."
Known Languages:
Japanese, English
Adjusting her posture, Darla leaned forward slightly, her shoulders lifting with the slightest shrug. "Nothin' fancy, I know English and Japanese!" she replied. "But I'm thinkin' about learnin' sign language. I think it'd be helpful when workin' with the students."
Backstory
Darla is a Southern Belle, born in Louisiana, to a loving and large family. Her family owned a small restaurant, nothing flashy or expensive, but something that comforted the neighborhood and became a beloved location for many. When she was young, she’d often find herself totting around the restaurant, roaming around to the different tables and peeking in from under tablecloths. With the patrons often being usual customers, they never minded her presence and the way she seemed to ask them a plethora of questions about their lives. Darla was an affectionate and sensitive child, often bursting into tears at the slightest inconveniences. Whether it was a broken toy or that scene where everyone thought that Stitch died (Lilo and Stitch), the waterworks always came. Naturally, her family teased her a little, but they never made her feel embarrassed or ashamed of her soft heart. Her sensitivity taught her compassion, and that the most important ingredient in life is kindness. Her soft-hearted nature carried on to adulthood, and even now, she can barely watch a romantic movie without bursting into tears.
As she grew up, she spent more time in her family's restaurant. Rather than goofing off or engaging in her usual antics, she helped out. She would take on minor tasks such as prepping ingredients, cleaning, and refilling drinks. Sometimes, she would even get a tip! Eventually, larger corporations began flooding the area, running out smaller businesses with chain brands. Her family’s business managed to hold out for quite a while, but when her mother, the primary cook, fell ill, it was only a matter of time before her family’s restaurant fell on hard times as well. When this happened, she and her friends worked together to run a bake sale. Despite their efforts, they weren’t able to make enough to save the restaurant. This had a huge impact on Darla’s life, as well as her family. They all managed to get jobs elsewhere, and the passion they all had for cooking eventually fizzled out. This was the case for each of them, besides Darla. The event only encouraged her to work harder and pursue her new dream of someday reopening the family restaurant.
In order to accomplish this dream, she studied hard in school, knowing that it took more than just skill to make it in the world. She’d continue to help out around the house and prepare meals for her family during several days of the week. When she entered high school, she struggled to keep up with her grades and balance that along with her other responsibilities. However, with a lot of support from her teachers, she was able to get a grasp on things and graduate with relatively good grades. Of course, they weren’t perfect, but she put her all into it along with the other aspects of her life. After writing a boatload of essays and applying for various scholarships, she was able to enroll in Chef John Folse Culinary Institute. She initially majored in Culinary Arts, but after her second semester, she decided to add a major in Culinary Science, as well as a minor in Baking and Pastry Arts. Now being in her element, she thrived in her classes. During her time at university, she participated in a wide range of community events and fundraisers. Darla also worked part-time at a small family-owned bakery. She’d get plenty of practice preparing pastries and applying her knowledge. This job was able to help towards paying for her tuition, but she did it for more than the money. She loved her job and came close to the family that owned the bakery, it became a home away from home.
When she graduated from university, she bounced between jobs at various restaurants, hoping to find the work environment that best suited her. One day, she heard from an old friend from her university about the opportunities available in Japan. Hesitant at first, she knew she’d have a hard time learning the language, but she couldn’t pass up an opportunity that might allow her to restore what once was her family’s restaurant. When she eventually learned the language and moved to Japan, she honestly didn’t know where to start. The truth was, she didn’t have much of a plan. She got a suitcase of her favorite things, just one, and hopped on a plane. Darla was able to stay with her friend, just for a bit, until she got her bearings. When she heard there was an opening position for a chef at a high school, she jumped for joy and reached out to apply as soon as possible.
Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):
"Uhm . . well. . ." Darla shifted a bit uneasily, knowing she'd have to elaborate a bit on her current situation. She was unsure if this was all appropriate to discuss during an interview, but she'd rather be honest than come up with something that just wasn't true. "I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but my family has-. . had a restaurant back in Louisiana. All of this schoolin' I got is to hopefully put me in a position to open it up again. I heard there are great opportunities here though, and when I saw that there was an opening, I thought it'd be perfect for me. I love cookin', and I love people even more. I think that this would be not only a job that I can do confidently, but a job that I'll truly enjoy," she concluded, folding her hands at her lap, one thumb brushing sheepishly over the other.
Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
Cleared her throat, perking up. "I think I should be accepted because. . ." Her words trailed off as she thought for a moment, then she continued. "Well, for one, I'm a real' hard worker, and I got a genuine passion for cookin'. I'm a people person, so I'll have no problem workin' with the kiddies." Darla gestured, keeping count on her fingers as she listed off her best attributes. "I have an extensive education, and plenty of work experience in different culinary settin's. I'm approachable, I think- and I'm determined to do whatever I set my mind to. Plus . . . I make a mean apple pie!" she added jokingly. "I'm knowledgeable not only about how to prepare dishes, but nutrition values and what makes a meal balanced and healthy.
