GANGRP || Sophisticated mechanics, how to develop RP with GangRP, etc. - tracionz [W.I.P]

Level 12

Before reading, this guide is largely aimed at those who already understand the basics of Gang Roleplay (Such as knowing what is allowed in combat, how to obtain permissions, etc.), and are looking to further venture out in the sect. If you have not yet fully grasped these pillars, I HIGHLY recommend reading past guides aimed at helping newer players with the basics such as. .

And also, don't expect this guide to make you some god-sent prodigy at the game; At the end of the day, GangRP is more-so meant to be used as catalyst for Roleplay, so don't stress too hard if you lose, 'kay?

it's low res on purpose i swear

To re-iterate the definition: GangRP is the act of committing a crime with two or more people, the most common examples being aggravated assault against other criminal organizations and larceny. Being a flexible faction, many styles of organized crime fall under this umbrella of a term, whether that be Bōsōzoku's, Yakuza's, or street gangs. This sect of SchoolRP (ironic, am I right?) is often considered one of, if not THE most competitive of the lot, and is therefore, one of the most populous, with many aspiring to reach a golden status within the masses of players. One issue with this commonly shared aspiration, however - GangRP is much more complicated than the perceived "/me swung bat at his head and rolls 150". A rough reality that many of us face early on is that GangRP, when executed, is one of the most difficult things to be "Good" at. Strategies, gatekept mechanics and numbers all contribute to the competitiveness of the faction, and they lead to many losing fights because of the sheer effectiveness of said strategies. Hearing about the stories of intermediate players and their GangRP struggles, I have decided to compile my personal experiences in GangRP into a relatively short guide for players to begin adopting these tactics so they can begin to shift the odds more into their favor.

SECTION ONE - ISOLATION.

Have you ever been in a fight and all of a sudden you notice that your group is being dropped like flies? Well, you can thank isolation as one of the probable causes of that. Isolation, at it's core, can prove to be a devastating factor when it comes to fights of any scale. It is important to always keep a fight as a one-versus-one solely BECAUSE of the mass power that isolation beholds on combat, as if it turns into a TWO-versus-one, it will nearly never end out looking well for the outnumbered individual. One thing that you have to understand about isolation is that it is so lethal for the fact that it forces one to exhaust twice as much luck and thinking, forcing cracks and holes in the outnumbered individual's plan and, ultimately, causes a rapid defeat. While I am sure that you utilize this mechanic when you are going after one sole person as a group (such as for hunting people you have majors on), many of you are still unknowing when it comes to using this concept outside of extremely uneven fights. In response to this, I have decided to compile a couple of bulletin points to allow for you to gain a better grasp at this powerful tool known as isolation, and when to use it (and how to possibly avoid it).

BULLETIN ONE - /IT SURROUND.
An important thing you want to remember is that, if you have four or more people surrounding a singular person, all of your actions are honored against that sole person. While many utilize this rule when hunting one person, this can also be used during large-scale brawls. If you can form a four-person circle, you can throw people into the range of those four people, and if you manage to succeed with that action, you can essentially secure a knock out using that /it surround rule. While it may be a bit harder to defend compared to rushing in and taking 1v1's, it is a sure-fire way to get guaranteed pickings, and is much more a medium risk for high reward than the former option. Another way that you can use this concept of surrounding would be when you are in a doorway. When guarding a door for any reason, you can funnel the people from the other side out of the doorway, and into your own group to isolate and force them into an outnumbered position, leading to a consistent way to get your picks, and as a result of that, a way to tilt the battlefield in your favor. Of course, there are obviously many other instances that you can use surround other than 1v4 major hunting, however, these are some rough examples that you can use as a basis to develop your own strategies later on.

BULLETIN TWO - UNEVEN FIGHTS, AND HOW TO TURN THEM MORE EVEN.
So, imagine this: You are attempting to escape a turf, you have three people on your side whilst there are six on the opposing group. You are almost positive you cannot win a stand-alone 1v2 three times, however, you have no viable way to leave the turf without picking them all off. It seems like a losing scenario, right. . ?

Well, that would be where your favorite concept of Isolation would come into play.

By using Isolation, you can have two people guard you while you drag one into your range, allowing you to maintain a consistent one-versus-one, allowing you to slowly but surely dwindle their numbers into a fair three-versus-three. If you are able to successfully do that - Congratulations! You have managed to bring down the morale of your opponent and even the playing field to something that you can very possibly win. While more luck-dependent than the first, it is a sure-fire way to give an outnumbered party a better alternative to risking a much more difficult two-versus-one fate.

BULLETIN THREE - THE RIOT SHIELD.

. . This is not a suggestion to constantly go after cops for their shields, this is ONLY if you have somehow gotten the chance to win and steal one of these valuable, lesser-known items.

The riot shield is undoubtedly the most underrated weapon in the game, and for good reason too - It's rare, has a seemingly useless purpose for fighting, and has a VERY low usage rate in GangRP. You're probably wondering right now; "Okay. . You're telling us it is underrated, but why is it underrated?" Well, it's because of one simple sentence in the weapon profile:
1755553338667.png
"Oh but it can't deal K.O points, so how is it good for attac-" SHUT UP. The reason why this is so good is because of the ability it has to force ISOLATION. By using the riot shield's "invincibility", you can successfully secure uneven fights by removing your opponent's capability to assist their teammates by pushing them out of range and deflecting all attacks, whilst having your OWN teammates drag people into their range behind the riot shield to pick them off one-by-one. By reading the above examples, you can begin to see how the riot shield can prove to be extremely useful to secure and simplify the processes present, and how it can make or break fight (whether even or uneven).

SECTION TWO - RANGE.

SECTION THREE - TEAMPLAY.

Well, hooray! You managed to learn different mechanics that allow you to win your fights - but why?

GangRP in itself is only an accessory to building your own character's story; It is mostly used by experienced role-players to give their character reasons for action compared to solely for the competitive aspect of it. While yes, it is fine to enjoy GangRP as it's own sort of "Game", you also have to recognize that it is more-so meant to improve on your character's lore and allow you to engage in different aspects of roleplay with more vibrant, entertaining stories. I made this guide not only teach you how to win fights, but as well as to educate people on how this sect can be much more than a source of short-term dopamine, and to show how it can provide and create stories that can really make your experience that much better. I love this faction of SchoolRP not for it's fun combat (which. . it's definitely a benefit), but for it's story, people, and the possibilities it can bring to your character's story. Unfortunately, a lot of people that I have talked to wished that they could branch out further into other sects of GangRP, however have had no viable option to do so without creating those initial important bonds. Because of this, I have decided to make a separate segment to give some ways you can develop your roleplay by using GangRP as a catalyst.

NUMBER ONE - THE BLACK MARKET.

wip lol

NUMBER TWO - P2L AND CONSENTED FIGHTS

wip yet again

NUMBER THREE - ENGAGING WITH GANG LEADERSHIP/MEMBERS.

wip for the third time but i promise it's not as base-level as it sounds.

At the end of the day, GangRP is gangrp im still writing this and it will probably be finished in the coming weeks before i start school ^-^
