Describe your activity on the server:
I am on mostly every day. However even when offline, I am available most of the time unless of course I’m sleeping. I do my best to always be around, though! When I am online, I tend to either be on my adult profile or my college one. As of late, I have spent more time on my college profile due to being accepted as a Saiky estate keeper while also balancing the roleplay I have on my other profiles.

On my main I have College Bachelor, Highschool, and adult. On my alt I have a bird.

What position are you applying for (Maiden or Priest)?
I’m applying for the position of priest.
What is your motivation for applying?
The shrine faction is one that I have always enjoyed. It is one of the first factions I had been a part of and I loved every second while in it. It’s a great part of the community and my motivation is to return to it once more and be part of the roleplay and faction that I miss.
What do you currently know about Shintoism? Are you willing to learn more about it?
I’ll admit that my knowledge has changed since I left the shrine faction before, but I am willing to relearn what I need.

Backstory
The eleventh day of December was a calm night. A light flurry of snow was seen out of the family’s window, when the Otori family welcomed a new member. Saori Otori. It was 1985 in Toyone, Japan. After the family was cast out from their home in Karakura, they moved to a remote part of the mainland, continuing to live their lives and start their family. Yuko, the young Saori’s mother, took care of her newborn, while Akio, prioritized raising their eldest son and teaching him as best as a three year old could.
The family’s lives were uneventful, growing up on a farm and working when they were old enough. The family believed in Shintoism, still praying to Chiharu Yamatsumi, even hundreds of miles away. Saori took an even deeper belief in the kami, making the family’s shrine even more lavish and taking great care of it. While growing up, the young girl was taught martial arts and put to compete with her older and younger siblings. Ensuring they knew how to defend themselves, and also how to defend each other.
Years passed, and even less occurred in her early years. School blurred past, where she achieved mediocre grades, but still graduated and returned to her family home. Saori continued to practice Shintoism, even pursuing internships in any monastery she could. Working at the devoted shrines gave her life a purpose she had been yearning for. It was in these years working at the shrine where she met her partner, Itsuki Sato. For three years, they worked together at the monastery, making lasting memories, and eventually, Saori discovered she was pregnant. However, it was before they found out that Itsuki had moved away, losing contact with Saori and their future child.
Saori had to surrender her position as a miko and return to her family farm to raise her son. Her parents and siblings helped as much as they could, but they all had their own lives to deal with. Saori did her best to raise her child, making sure they grew up loved.
Eventually, opportunities arose. The Otori family learned of their distant relative who remained on the isle of Karakura, and informed them that they were welcomed back. Saori, along with other family members, took the opportunity to return to their ancestral home. With her son all grown, Saori decided to take a step forward and try to return to her passion and practice Shintoism, all while learning more about the kami her family prayed to so diligently.
CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE / SITUATIONS
How does your character act around shrine grounds? How do they interact with guests and other staff?
“My colleagues deserve respect, as do the guests of the grounds, so I will give it to them. I always do my best to be attentive to those around me, that won’t change regardless of where I am. As for the grounds? Those will be treated with the utmost care that I can provide. The grounds are sacred and I believe they must be treated that way, to keep the Kami happy.”
You see a guest jumping around the roofs of the building and overall disrespecting shrine grounds, how would your character handle it?
“Professionally, of course. They should not be up there on the roof, so I would tell them to carefully lower themselves onto the ground. If they continue to be disrespectful or do not comply, I would make sure they are removed from sacred grounds. It clearly states to be respectful, does it not?”
Why does your character want to become a shrine maiden/priest?
“My desire is simple, to return to something I love. I was a maiden many years ago, but that career was placed on hold due to the responsibilities in my life, but now I am back at a place where I can confidently return to my career once again. Granted, this is an entirely new environment for me but I am sure I will get the hang of how things are done here.”
