What is your discord username?

Describe your activity on the server:
I am pretty active on the server. Most of the time, I am online for a few hours every day, though this is spent in vanish as I have nothing to do. I am a college student, so there are days when I skip logging on, but generally only once or twice a week at the most.

I also have an odd sleep schedule; sometimes I’m online early in the morning, and other times very late at night.

What is your timezone?:
EST

List your current and past applications:
Given the amount I have posted on the forums, only my relevant applications will be linked.

List your current roles on the server:
I have the Commissioner role on Hirathex.

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
I have been roleplaying in some form for most of my life, though truthfully, I am not very good at it. There is a lot of improvement that can happen there; however, much of my enjoyment has always come from creating characters. Over the past year or so, I haven’t had as many opportunities to roleplay as I would like, so I figured joining another faction may help with this.

I have been on SRP for nearly five years now, which has by far been the biggest influence on my roleplay. Four of those years have been in the police faction, which has been the basis for much of my experience. Except for briefly joining the high school council, I have always spent my time roleplaying in the emergency factions. I find it to be the most enjoyable part of the server (emergency faction on top, I’m definitely not biased), and I am familiar with how both KPD and EMS work.

What is your motivation for applying?
I have been in the hospital faction twice now. The first time was largely unofficial, as I was asked to take over as Director. I did not enjoy this experience, and for a long time, I swore I would never give the faction another shot. However, back in 2024, I ended up rejoining and had a much different experience. I spent several months as a paramedic before leaving, since my schedule couldn’t accommodate it at the time.

Ever since leaving, I planned to reapply in the future once I was less busy. Although I am about to head into finals for college, I should have more free time coming up soon, and figured I might as well apply now. Over the last few months, I have genuinely missed the faction and the roleplay it comes with. More than anything, I have missed playing the character I have used in the past for hospital, and I’m looking forward to the possibility of doing so again.

Which role are you applying for?
Doctor

What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
I have been in EMS before, and despite the changes that have occurred in the time since I left the faction, I still have a decent grasp on what each role does. There are three main departments:

Psychiatrist
Doctor
Paramedic
Psychiatrists are responsible for therapy. Their involvement in medical procedures is limited, as they primarily focus on the mental side of medicine, whether it be diagnosing mental health problems or talking through experiences that patients have dealt with. Psychiatrists also perform monthly evaluations for KPD officers, in which they determine if an officer in question is fit for duty. Out of all departments, I am least familiar with this one, as it’s the only one I have not been in.
Doctors perform the bulk of medical procedures, which can be anything from casting broken bones to sewing up stab wounds, to checkups, or to whatever unimaginable injury someone experiences from living in Karakura. Like psychiatrists, doctors are also involved with monthly evaluations for KPD officers, where they determine if their assigned officers are physically well enough to continue working.
At least during my previous time in the faction, paramedics did a little of everything. They could take on both psychiatrist and doctor duties, but a large focus of their work is on responding to 110 calls that take place outside of the hospital. They are also the only department that can go on patrols.

For each department, there is a series of ranks within it, with one to two higher-ups managing it. The Director and Deputy Director are responsible for managing the higher-up team, along with generally overseeing the entirety of the hospital faction.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?
Yes, I acknowledge this.

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY

What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?

What does it take to be successful?

A question that Icarus found himself thinking about at every step of his life, contemplating the option that commanded the most respect, the one that would make him special. To be a model is one thing; a pretty face comes with no hard work, at least not in Icarus’ case. Yet, not something that lasts forever. Perhaps spurred by that very fear, he aspired for more.

A lawyer, a doctor, a surgeon. Probably the most common answers on any parent’s list for what they hoped their child would be someday, at least any normal one. Icarus’s speciality is general surgery. Despite having no genuine interest in it initially, merely a choice made to prove himself, it became something he loved. What better a field for an obsessive perfectionist than one that allowed for no mistakes? For him, precision is everything.

Though much of his experience has since involved typical doctor work, this area remains his favorite. Less interaction, less noise, less trouble. An area Icarus excels at, and a reminder to himself, or his ego, of how good he truly is.

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
Icarus’s history in the medical field has been nothing short of eventful. Despite the relatively few years he has spent working, he has bounced from position to position. Upon completing his surgical training, Icarus took his first residency back in France. A far less glamorous lifestyle compared to the constant whirlwind of flashing lights and public events he thrived under as a model. All traded for scrubs and long hours at your run-of-the-mill hospital; certainly nothing to write home about.

However, after a few months of this monotonous routine, Icarus was offered a position at Karakura Hospital as the Director. An offer accepted with glee, and the beginning of a long, rocky relationship he would have with it (Whatever happened to Mike Akihito’s body, anyways?). Despite the relatively short amount of time he spent as Director, Icarus eventually returned as a doctor and later became a paramedic. A position he filled well, finally putting his years of education to good use, if you ignored the occasional attitude that came with it.

Though, what Icarus definitely has not been up to during his medical career is treating criminals in a dingy, remote section of the sewers with equipment stolen from the hospital. That’s illegal, after all. He wouldn’t know anything about that.

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE

Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?

Pale, delicate, perfect. Icarus’s looks take precedent over all other matters for him; one glance was enough to understand why he was a model. Tall and thin with dark hair shrouding unnaturally flawless features, paired with uncomfortably blue eyes, normally hid behind a pair of dark sunglasses—probably for the better. Androgynous at best, Icarus has always leaned toward the feminine side. Long locks of hair and makeup, ever-present in some form, haven’t helped his case.

If the word uncanny came with a picture definition, Icarus could fill that role. Underneath the suffocating, artificial charm was something unsettling. A feeling you couldn’t shake—a sense of something being not quite right about him. Perhaps it was the look he always carried, a glint that what he expressed outwardly wasn’t in line with what he actually thought, or even the puzzling way in which he presented himself. A man who aspired for perfection to a near compulsive degree; never a strand out of place, holding himself to the most impossible of standards.

To others, patients, coworkers, or any other regular old person, that carefully curated image was reflected; meticulous effort put into maintaining it. A near inhuman figure, yet one who passed as normal enough. Though, to the few unlucky enough to have a problem with Icarus, a much different personality was returned to them. Something less controlled than he would like, and far more unstable.

How does your character act around the hospital?
In any given situation, Icarus has enough confidence to fill not one—but several rooms. Professional enough to engage in all the typical pleasantries you would expect one to, and charismatic to fault; trained in feigning an interest in all the boring conversations that carried no real importance. A polite face he was accustomed to putting on for the world. Never one to start a talk, Icarus’ focus is primarily put into his work, interactions limited to those that serve a purpose that benefits him.

Icarus is nothing short of a perfectionist, diligent to a point that most would find irritating. Someone who loves to nag others’ mistakes. They work in a hospital, after all, wouldn’t you want to make sure you’re being the best you can be? That’s what Icarus would say if questioned; it certainly wasn’t for his own satisfaction.

However, that mask didn’t come without its occasional slip. What one might consider confidence, another would consider ego. An impressive one, at that. Too prideful, or perhaps too stubborn to let any perceived slight—intended or not—go unnoticed. Icarus was quick to rise to a passive-aggressive, spiteful manner and was incapable of biting his tongue for long enough to prevent any backtalk, especially toward particular higher-ups . . .

Does your character function better on their own or with others?
Icarus works better alone. Beneath the facade he puts on, his trust in others is close to zero. In his eyes, people are either unreliable, unintelligent, or obnoxious. Even worse, all three. But not him, never him. When you believe yourself to be so much better, looking down upon the rest, it is difficult to make friends. A lonely existence, but one that Icarus is seemingly unaware of, or does not mind.

It’s definitely not narcissism, though. He hates that word.
