If You Ever Quit SRP in the Past, What Made You Come Back?

My question today is another super simple one, and I wanted to know because a lot of the people I've spoken to did quit SRP a long time ago, but then came back this or last year.

IF YOU WERE TO QUIT SRP, WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU RETURN?

As per usual, I will go first!!
Although my stay in 2023 was SUPER short, I did technically quit and then return; my reason for it was simply because I sucked at dedicating to things at the time and thus forgot about it.

If I were to quit again, I would come back if either I was asked to by a friend, or if there was a super cool update! That will never happen though, I love shrine too much I fear

I am not sure if what I went through was a quitting? But, I had to resign from (mostly) all my posts as I became incredibly inactive and only came online both on Discord and Minecraft every fortnight for a weekend as I was in the military. I came back because... I never left in the first place

Started in 2021 and was active until maybe around late 2022 or mid 2023 due to burnout to occasionally log on, before leaving completely nine-ten months ago. Bad mental health that only got worse over time on top of a bad event that honestly could have been preventable if, yk, i wasnt very childish and immature with my feelings

But regardless, I had to leave SRP because all it did was cause me pain and I needed to focus on my other priorities. Then over the months the pain lessened, but I still keep on thinking about SRP to the point it became more of an annoyance since i associated the bad event(tm) to it. So, I decided to come back and make new memories. Make a new char, do things I haven't done before since i have the time for it right now

And so far... I found myself enjoying it like I did when I first started

Only when I become satisfied with what I have accomplished, or if there happens to be another bad event(tm) that happens, will I leave SRP once more, lol

Joined in like 2022 with my old best friend, After a day as a pure greenie a somehow got my character stuck in the older system of the metro thingy. Overall I joined every couple of months just to see if I'd be interested in playing and being active again. Made a new character, got into a friend group with the boys: noodlething and Vechozzz (Love you guys)
Reason why I joined back:
Saw Travdesu's video roughly 5-7 months ago and this urge which I buried within me has sprouted as memories of old private roleplay servers I was involved in just sort of sparked my inner need and lust for a purpose outside of being the 'smart' and 'nerdy' person in a class full of idiots. Overall I'm ecstatic on how SRP has gone for me and to be honest! I'm so happy I saw that video.

Ooo, that's super cool! Well done for your service in the military, that takes a lot of guts, very brave!!

i didnt quit cause mama didn't raise no quitter but also bc I've seen way too many people make dramatic ass posts abt leaving just to come back a month later... like that is so embarrassing if I ever do that pls perform an excosism bc that ain't me...
I've left a few times due to me being busy w school, life, friends leaving,general disinterest, etc
but the main reason I always come back is probably the one character I have...

To put it briefly, boredom. I missed SRP a lot while I was gone, but when I came back it just wasn't the same tbh, so now I'm gone again for the most part. I wouldn't say that I quit again though.

i was making a new save in the sims with a new character and i realized my passion is making very above average looking characters and AFKing at plaza so that everyone can see them and wants to talk to them but cant because im always afk

I never really quit but I have gone on hiatus twice. I started SRP in 2017. I went on hiatus between 2018-2019 for mental health reasonings. I came back during in 2020 and went on hiatus again in 2022 for my mental health reasons. I returned from hiatus in early 2023 and have been here since. I haven’t been as active in the server due to motivational loss. I’ve wanted to get my motivation back but I don’t want to force myself so I’m waiting patiently and hoping to get it back.

@Leo_14 DMed me and encouraged me re-apply for council for the third time and luckily I got in, which caused my motivation to come back :3 It wouldn’t happen if not @Renidite and @Mxxkie, i love you guys!

I started playing SRP around the time in opened in 2015 and played religiously til late 2018. I left for various reasons, however the gist of it being I no longer had a laptop, therefore I didn’t have access to the server for quite some time

Once I finally got a laptop, I decided to come back in May of 2024. I came back simply for nostalgic reasons, as well to continue my love for the teacher faction and reapply as it always has been my main focus on SchoolRP. I had hoped to reconnect with old friends, but most have left since!

Left mainly cause I didn’t feel the creative spark anymore middle of 2023. Then, I missed rping with old friends. Creating stories and, I was much more focused on story building and roleplay confidence.

since being a year of my return, I can say I’m back to losing my spark. Lots of friends have moved on and the new community is a bit hard to fit in. But here and there I get motivated and come back active every so now and then!

Reason why I’d quit SRP.
Tough question.
I have this feeling I joined SRP at a very weird point. Many people are coming back, while at the same time many are saying goodbyes and having nostalgia. Seems everything is being built anew. Many seem to also be very unhappy at the situation of the community. But to be honest…
I actually do not know.
I -at least right now- cannot think of a reason to quit SRP. It feels to fit my style of living and compassions completely. With the old friendships (@Benspudgydad & @noodlething !!) and new ones I’m making every day, my spark for SRP is at its peak.

I never fully quit so to speak. I left for a few months after joining back in April of 2023 to prepare for college and spend the summer hanging out with my friends for the last few moments. I didn't return back until around late November / early December where I met DarkEclipic and some others all who are dear to my heart, which made me stick around and get to where I am today.
