Describe your activity and roleplay experience on the server:
7/10. Recently, I took a break from SRP to focus on my work and education. Before leaving, my activity involved gangrp, facturlyrp, and my own lore-based events. I used to be a professor but moved into the employee sections when I decided to return to faculty to try something new. Besides, when an event is scheduled during my work or school hours, I do my best to clear the day around that time for it. This, however, is not the main thing for me to do; it is more about creating relationships and lore for the character I play.
I am always going to be active except when I am out of town, at work, or at school. With my current schedule due to school, I remain active daily and get on once I am home from either work or school. This, in a day, gives me about 3-5 hours on SRP, depending on whether I have anything to do inside of it. However, if I have nothing to do, I usually won’t log on for too long.

I found Roleplay Hub over four years ago, and since then I have had great experiences with the people I've interacted with and enjoy creating characters that are completely different. The character I am applying for is one of my mains and one I think fits the role I’m applying for the best.
My overall roleplay experience in the SRP is quite positive. I've been playing for almost 2 years now, which, yes, isn't a long time, but for me, that's pretty decent. I have grown pretty fond of how it's not JUST roleplaying as a high school student, but there's also the opportunity to become city roles or school faculty. As well as gangrp and any sort of sport RP. Which I have enjoyed because it's not something I can grow bored of since I can just change up my roleplaying or make another character to be completely different.
I've been doing roleplay for a long time, and I always have enjoyed it. I would go into other Minecraft servers that were meant for roleplay, but it wasn't ever as organized as I wanted. I was also very into LARP growing up and would get my entire school involved. Sometimes pretending to be someone or something else is exactly what a person needs to just get away from their own world.

In your own words, why do you think professors are important to SchoolRP?
Professors and Teachers share a very similar role in the server. The entire reason for the roleplay is to roleplay out mostly real school experiences. Having players be able to have the role of Professor helps advance roleplays by giving different perspectives, experiences, and overall a more engaging game versus using NPCs to host classes. It also allows players to teach and show off something they enjoy from their real experience; a lot of the players I know who chose their subjects choose something that they know a lot about or want to learn more about. For in-character purposes, the role gives students a guiding person to teach them about the world, real skills, and help prepare them to eventually graduate.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive, you may face demotion or removal from the faction?
Yes. Any inactivity on my end will be given notice and a reason within the logs!

Do you understand if your application is accepted, you may have to undergo professor training?:
Yes. It would be good to undergo training again, as it has been a couple of years now, and I am sure things have changed during that time.

What's your character's full name?
Cleared his throat, sitting down in the chair provided. "My name is Kai Yokuna-Meyer. At school, I would go by Mr Yokuna, as Meyer is my married name." His arm extended to his knee, scratching it lightly through the jeans he wore. "Mr Meyer is my husband, so we like to not get it confused."

Age (Minimum is 27):
"Uh..." Kai had to stew for a moment and think hard, deciding to give up, and checked his ID. "I am 41 years old..." He gave a polite smile, twirling the ID card in his hand before slipping it back into his back pocket, just behind the phone that looked ancient. "I don't really keep track of my age; it just hurts the soul to count the withering number."

Nationality:
For a moment, he thought about it. Leaning back into the chair to allow himself to relax more. "I'm of Japanese and Filipino descent. My mother was born and raised in the Philippines but moved to Japan for school, met my father, and well, I was made into a mixed beauty." A subtle chuckle came from his grin. "I got my mother's looks, though, so lucky me."

Preferred Subject:
"I would like to teach Culinary arts. Cooking has become a hobby I'm fond of. However, if needed, mathematics or physical education are other subjects that I could teach." He shifted in the chair, his empty eye twitching behind the hair as it started to itch. He ignored that, though. "I've taught both subjects at this school before, so they are something I could do easily."

Describe the character: How do they look and act? What makes them unique and different?
1792385089592.png
Kai is a 6'4 male with a strong, lean build. He has short brown hair and deep blue eyes. His left eye was empty, normally closed in a constant wink. A large scar ran down his cheek and across his jaw. Both of the man's legs were covered in large, deep scars and bruised beyond recovery; he suffered nerve damage that caused a permanent limp. Often, he walked with a cane and barely ran, just to keep them relaxed. Outside of the workplace, he's very open with his opinions and also open-minded. It's rare to see him staying quiet while someone acts out or is being violent towards others. He'll also never wear clothing that is considered uncomfortable to him, often seen wearing a kimono or sweatpants. However, at work, he would wear suits or, depending on the class exercise, a costume fitting the theme.

What are their plans for the future? Optionally, what is their past?
Currently, Kai's only plans for the future are to remain happy with his husband and support him in his career. His husband, Cassian, is the light of his life and, in turn, so are his children. So Kai wishes to continue taking care of them all and make sure they're secure in their lifestyles. Never in need of food, housing, or money. He also keeps up with their mental health by encouraging hobbies and therapy if any of them seem to need them.

What is their outlook on students and their co-workers?
Co-Workers
Cleared his throat, his hand reaching down in the chair so he could scratch his leg. "Well, with coworkers, it varies on their work ethic. There have been a lot of circumstances where another employee will do something I don't agree with. . . But then there are others that I think I could learn from." His lips curled into a small grin. "There was a librarian back when I used to teach; he was incredible with students and always seemed to calm a fight without even raising his voice. I have to take notes." Kai paused for a moment before continuing. "I want my coworkers to become my friends at the end of the day. We're always on the same side when it comes to the students, to better their education and overall lives, so having a good relationship with everyone really makes that possible."

Students
Thought for a good long moment. "Well, they're children. No matter how old they are, they're still just kids figuring out their current lives and futures. I, uh..." Chuckled slightly. "Grew up in a harsh environment, so I get that a lot of the students probably do too. I like to give them the benefit of the doubt occasionally, especially if they're clearly going through a tough time. School should be a safe place for them to come and learn, so I'd always try to step in to make sure they're having that experience." His eye moved across the room. "Even outside school, if a student's being messed with, I'd rather step in than say it's not my problem."

What is their motivation for becoming a professor?:
"Well, I was a professor at the school before and used to substitute for employees. I was, uh, kinda forced into the job when my sister lost hers and she asked me to take over so I could 'make sure her students thrive'. . . I'm not sure. Though, over time, I grew to actually enjoy it and met my husband. So it all worked out." He smiled then went on. "I left my professor position because I had to travel for personal reasons, but I started to just substitute whenever I was needed here and there. I would take over for librarians, nurses, and occasionally the chef position." Itched his leg once more. "Which brings me to my current request to become a culinary professor. It's new for me, but after working in the cafeteria, I realized cooking was actually a pretty good outlet for me. So I started to cook at home more. This position would allow me to teach others while learning myself, because no chef can be perfect and teachers always learn something from students."

Roleplay Scenarios

A jock is ignoring your lesson and throwing paper balls at another student; what would your character do?

Took a deep breath, thinking over the best way to go about a situation like this. "Well. .I'd start by just giving them a warning. Telling them to stop disrupting class and bullying overall. If they truly insist on continuing, then I'll tell them they have one more chance before being removed from the classroom and/or getting detention because they're actively harassing another student." Clicked his tongue as he cleared his throat. "It's also a safety issue; we're going to be in a classroom with hot stoves, kitchen utensils, and just overall not a playground so throwing anything can't be tolerated. Bullying won't be tolerated either."

A student doesn’t seem to understand the material, yet hasn’t requested help; what would your character do?
"If it's clear they're struggling, or even unclear, I'd walk over and give them subtle suggestions. Sometimes students like to think they're doing it all on their own, so I'd rather be a silent guide rather than take over their experience." Tapping his hand against his leg, itching it again. "Unless they're doing something dangerous, then I have to helicopter parent that. But overall I'm going to make sure the students know that they can ask any question even if it seems a tad strange. Cooking can be weird, so."

When in the faculty lounge, how does your character act?
Stepped into the room and looked around for a moment. His body stretched as he raised his arms above his head, reaching for the ceiling with a heavy groan. His sleeves began to fall from his wrists to his forearms before he quickly let them drop to his side. For a moment, he felt alone in the room before his eye caught sight of a Librarian in the corner. "Oh. .Sorry, I thought it was empty." He stared for a moment. "How is your day going?" Kai gave a polite smile before he walked into the room, sitting down in the closest chair to him and leaning over to scratch his leg.
The librarian responded, "It's good. A couple of crazy kids shouting in the library, but that's fine." They stayed where they sat at another table, a book in hand. Kai thought to himself, maybe they needed some peace as well.
Overall, Kai would use the faculty lounge to unwind or as a chance to get to know his co-workers without students, trying to meet the raw versions of themselves.

Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas and one field trip idea related to your subject

1. The first interactive class that will be hosted will be a Partner activity where the students will learn how to make Okonomiyaki with their partners. This is a Japanese pancake dish made with the key ingredient of wheat flour batter and several other ingredients cooked on a teppan. I will first hand out an instruction notebook as well as explain what the dish is at the start of class. Each pair will try their best to follow the instructions while I walk around and help out or give small tips to help with their success in the taste of the meal. This activity will typically be hosted during 3rd period, so once the pairs have completed the dish, they will be able to enjoy it for lunch with what may be a new friend.

2. The second interactive class would be the "Getting to know you" game where the students would pair up with someone of a different/slightly different nationality and make a dish from their partner's culture. This activity will help the students create a bond together as they are learning something new in multiple ways. The students will be learning about their classmate's cultures as well as how to make food they may not be familiar with. The dishes will have to be simple in order for each student to succeed and still be able to communicate with their partner. By the end of the period, each pair will try a bite of their partner's dish, deciding whether or not it is accurate to how they make it or if it was just a complete fun fail.

Field Trip. A good interactive field trip would be to a restaurant. With the owner's permission, the class will go and use their kitchen to help make a dish that is unique to the restaurant. I would like to host it during 4th period, so once school ends, the students can stay behind and help with a store opening to serve the food they helped make to willing customers! This will be a great way to show them how to manage cooking skills in a real-world experience. Maybe some students will find out they want to own their own restaurant. I will also encourage each of the attending students to try something new. It may be a fun field trip to their favorite dinner place, but I want them to open their minds to new options.
