What's the title of your suggestion?: Lockers suck, here's how to fix them

What's your suggestion?:
in case you didn't know or forgot about it, srp has lockers. simple enderchest-like blocks scattered sparsely across the map, usually in locations that make sense for them to be in. as of right now, lockers are the only "permanent" and persistent form of storage that we have access to. if you want to store items completely privately in multiple places, where only you can access them- lockers are the only way.

backpacks are a nice addition, but ultimately still rely on you keeping that backpack with you. backpacks are not a fitting solution for larger-scale item storage. i'm sure you can make it work if you store filled backpacks in a locker, but be so for real..

sometimes, lockers are the only reliable way to store items. during school time, no student character should technically have access to their chest storage at home. this poses a problem with the basketball and baseball plugin sports which are notorious for eating inventories...

then there's also the players who simply cannot afford a long-time apartment or aren't active enough to justify buying an apartment. these players rely on keeping items clogged up in their inventories, forced into selling them to other players or hoping a friend will let them store their items. i don't think players should be forced to lose sentimental, valuable or rare items due to not being active enough for a property. i believe there should be a permanent solution that ties in with the school-aspect.

perhaps you want to take a lengthy break from the server, planning to come back after maybe a year or so. you have endless important items left in your apartment, all gone by the time you return. if you had a way to store your valuables before leaving, you might feel more incentivised to come back later.

let's look at the current locker system and its pros and cons
- Enderchest-like persistent storage option
- Permanent and apartment-less for a one-time 20k fee
- Distribution very limited to the gym, pool and school
- No more than 2 rows of storage, 18 slots in total
- Currently impossible to buy if you're a new player *
- Currently allows illegals to be stored??? **
* you literally cannot purchase a locker if you don't have one already, the prompt won't show
** i remember not being able to store alc/weapons in lockers, but i just tested it and it lets me. . ? probably an oversight.

here's my solution to fix lockers, while keeping them balanced. split up to address the cons

Accessibility
allow players to place, or even better- purchase blocks from the furniture shop that act as an interface for the existing lockers. this way, players can have their storage accessible from their apartments or homes. it wouldn't make sense for a giant steel locker to be placed in a personal home though. maybe some other, safe-like furniture item already exists that could serve as a perfect parallel. . .
besides adding a new model/option, i think the current lockers could be a little more spread out too. i'd like to see them in a few more locations where they make sense! sports courts (especially basketball and baseball) and KPD/EMS come to mind first.
i do not think a /pv command or "rentable units" should be added, dedicated blocks are the way to go.

Banned items
disallow certain items from being stored, the current auction whitelist/blacklist isn't half bad. . disallow alcohol, masks, and any items tagged as a 'weapon', 'mask' or 'drink'. lockers should still make sense from a "school" perspective, and not work to loophole KPD raids

Storage
18 slots is all we have right now, two rows, one page. for some people, enough. for most, not at all.
- are you a hoarder? you'll want potentially countless double chests of storage, likely unreasonable for a simple locker. .
- are you a sports plugin enjoyer? you'll want to be able to store your entire inventory, up to 37 items on the fly near your respective playing field
- want to take a break? 18 slots may or may not be enough, and forces you to make a decision about the items which you really do want to keep and which ones you don't mind losing.
a solution for the limited storage problem?
$$$$$$$$$$
srp already sells character slots and wardrobe slots, and ranks which boost the amount of wardrobe slots/characters you can have. i don't see storage as being any different. instead of fully replacing lockers, expand on them.
- make the first 9 slots / row of the locker free, and allow for up to 2-5 rows to be purchased using IC yen, similar to how wardrobe slots can be bought using ingame money. this will boost the storage to 27 or 54. (single/double chest)
- grant each "+" rank access to one extra row of storage, F+ gaining one extra row, R+, N+ and O+ all getting one more too. by this point, it might be too much for just one page. multiple pages?!
- finally for those who reaaaaally need that extra space, sell rows as additional perks on the shop.

------------------------------

that's all there is to it, i found some old suggestions suggesting roughly the same idea. most of which are more than a year old atp, and didn't offer a solution that fits the style in my opinion. although mentioned in older suggestions, it doesn't seem to be planned / in progress on the projects page. .

How will this benefit the server and community?:
i believe everyone except for apartment flippers will benefit from a change like this

I bought a locker years ago and completely forgot about it. But when I randomly clicked on it, I found out I left some ancient relics (specifically 8 student tokens and 1 book) from over a year ago. They're not customs or anything, but the fact that they're still there after leaving for awhile had pleasantly surprised me

I think this is a pretty good suggestion, and could be a dependable way to keep all those important lore items or customs in a safe-keep

I like it! But maybe make the price for the locker really low. Like $2-$3. For hoarders (which this is targeted to) a single row for like $7 is not affordable for most people.
