Making /giveto more practical.

What's the title of your suggestion?: Making /giveto more practical.

What's your suggestion?:
The /giveto command was introduced to pass items to other players without risking someone else picking them up. However, I thought of a way to make it more practical by introducing a GUI window upon running the command. Instead of it being /giveto (number of items), it would be /giveto (IGN). Once the command is run, a window opens, and similar to /wardrobe's function GUI, a player can select items (left click adds one, shift left click adds all, right click removes one, shift right click removes all). The plugin should be able to take into account the receiving player's inventory space, if there is not enough it should not allow you to give the items (so that there aren't losses). Then in one of those slots there should be something you can click that would confirm the transaction. Once it's sent, the receiving player would get the same prompt as the current command does (with the list of items) and they would receive the items upon confirming.

How will this benefit the server and community?:
It would make it infinitely easier for shops and the cashiers who won't have to manually /giveto the items if there are more bulky orders and a lot of customers in the store, and overall invites the players to use it more often as it would be more useful and less hassling.

I am neutral here. I would like to +1 it, but based on my experience with school bags, which also deal with items in a similar way, I am skeptical of the issues that this will eventually bring. School bags are still buggy, and you could still lose your items, so I don't know how to feel about this.

I do support it, though! It would make it x10 times faster, and it is a QoL addition. I'm just skeptical of the bugs that we already got with these kinds of things.

that's a valid concern but unlike school bags items would not stay in that GUI longer than it takes for the transaction, whilst school bags carry items long term hence elevated risk

Oh no. I've lost items the moment I put them in the bag/open slot. It's not like they disappear over time. The item disappears on my face. I still don't know how I manage to make it disappear, but it happens. :/ But yeah, if we can manage to fix that one issue, then I'm absolutely +1 this all the way.

Item transfer plugins of this variety are vulnerable to an enormous amount exploits and as numerous users have recently been affected by a similar issue from pre-existing systems we already have I do not think the risk outweighs the benefit in this context.

I think two toggles could improve the current /gt system immensely without creating new exploit potential. One to toggle confirmations, you can still quickly scroll away from the item to cancel the trade. Second, a toggle to have the plugin assume you want to /gt the full item stack instead of one item at a time as is the current default. In other words, a toggle to give the stack of items.

+1/-1 I don’t really think it is needed that much

We don't exactly need a new system.
If we based suggestions on needs we wouldn't need half of the plugins, this is meant to be something that helps people transfer a bigger amount of items without having to manually do it, and in a situation where there are openings if someone orders a lot of stuff it can take a good amount of time, it would be QoL as someone mentioned, it doesn't mean it should be on priority either, it can be something that can be done later on

I think the current /giveto works just fine, it's simply looking at a player. From a cashier perspective, at least, you'd have to stop, grab the persons description to locate their username, try and spell it correctly in an already busy/chat heavy shop environment. Whereas they currently just have to hit the up arrow on their keyboard, and change the amount given and confirm it.

I think while yes the current one is a bit more time consuming, is the safest option. As someone else said, the other things that have a similar design to what you're suggesting have bugs and more risk.
