What's the title of your suggestion?: More School Tests

What's your suggestion?:
Now, don’t get me wrong I know this has been suggested before, but I don’t know what the outcome is. Being a professor has shown me one thing, and it’s the lack of college students that show up to our classes. The new homework system is okay, but it only allows us to graduate once we get fifty credits, which is a lot harder than it seems to get than expected. I know and understand that college should be worked for, especially with the depth that college students have within SRP. I know a bunch of people, myself included who would love to have a college oc, but I can’t because well no teacher really hosts homework and the only test seems to be in January.

My suggestion? Make tests 2-3 times a year, but make the people taking the tests have over a week or two of playtime. This allows for people in the server who have playtime and wants college characters to actually get a chance at playing one, rather than having to go to 100+ classes just to get assigned 50 homeworks. The education credits are a hard system to work with, especially because lots of people on SRP have lives they live and can’t log onto SRP 24/7. The tests for experienced players would be better, as we aren’t stuck being impossibly playing as a grade 12 for months before graduating.

How will this benefit the server and community?:
It would allow for more people to get into college and play as college ocs, furthering their education in roleplay. Lot’s of people want to be in college on SRP, and they can’t be it because of the fifty education credits system.

+1! This is genuinely a good idea, especially cause not all people who take exams get in, it makes it so people still have to work for it and it gives different times for people to take tests to throughout the year. AND gives professors more students to work with. Honestly a good idea.

School Exams take so long to make and arrange that the overall server events would lower just to the fact that exams would need to be focused on. Plus the time it will take to arrange everything, set up the private rooms again, etc. It is fine with it being 1-2 times a year. Plus you can get your Bachelors with 50 passing homework assignments

Honestly, yes. Not all teachers hand out homework anyways, so it’s more harder for students to even graduate. Not blaming them, I understand teachers + professors have their own lives but I think we should give more opportunities for students to have a chance of skipping that long process and just taking more exams.

I think two sets of exams a year (reasonably far apart) is a good amount, personally, though they do still take a long time to set up.

i know that, but also the fact that 50 homeworks seems impossible seemingly as a lot of teachers don’t assign it when they host and 50 credits takes months to actually earn

yeah, i understand that concern because it does take some time to actually set them up and account for the “who” is taking it. i feel like instead of the tests being just in january or december, they should definitely be like in march and october or something amongst those lines so that way we don’t have to wait a year for college exams. i think that srp should increment more time spent on forming the tests, and maybe even have seperate testing days for highschool -> college and masters -> bachelor -> phd/adult

I just woke up so sorry if everythings a bit GAH, we have enough ways to pass through student points and exams already, as the whole homework thing is literally there to show us a different way to get into college than exams for those who *really* wanna get there. It's also the idea that, as said above, they take so long to organise, scheduele and moderate and then mark so, I'm not sure.

Yeah, obvious plus 1 here. The 50 credits thing is great! But it WILL take time for players to consistently start hitting those.

If we get an exam or two in the meantime, it might help with the lack of college students.

I like the sudden surprises of exams though they do only happen 2 times a year max.

I believe the 1-2 times a year is perfectly fine [this is coming from someone who went from grade 18 to PhD when credits weren't a thing] as these are time consuming to not only prep but do then the after math of sorting who all has passed or not etc. for the staff and faculty alike. The 50 credits is MEANT to take you time and not be something you get quickly.

Thank you for your suggestion!

- Use /homework and attend classes. This is typically faster than any other way of attaining College, including being in a faction or attending periodic exams.
