What's your Minecraft Username?: CriminalRP
What's the title of your suggestion?: move onrain to discord

What's your suggestion?:
Onrain has a history as website of breaking a lot due to the fact that it has a shit ton of members. The reason why nobody uses onrain now is because it breaks every 5 seconds and it has too much data to run.

Onrain should be a website on discord rather than be its own website due to the fact that it does not run well as a website.

How will this benefit the server and community?:
Moving onrain to discord would heavily benifit the community by causing less lag on school roleplay social media platforms and it could compete with ikigai as a more legal social media platform on discord rather than be its own website.

I personally really like Onrain having its own personal website, and it really helps point it out an actual social media source for our characters, which gives it a lot more personality! I also think that having it as its website is easier to manage, and even if it breaks a bit here and there it still works and people use it.

While I can see your point, I do really love the website being there and acting as a real social media! I love the features it can offer- in which Discord would not be able to offer. It's really fun to load up and have a trending tab with hashtags, see the latest posts, follow each others profiles and follow groups! I just don't see how that would correspond in the same way with Discord.

Part of the charm of Onrain for me is that it is a website, and plenty of people do use it - you just have to be patient with it

As much as it pisses me off trying to log onto onrain, an actual website gives a better feeling and emersion then a Discord server

I believe it should be done in some other way. Onrain should be not updated constantly and the updates should focus on fixing bugs and easing data management. I believe that moving onrain to discord would make it look like a completly different platform and would not be a good idea.

In conclusion, it is not a good idea, however I wont be faking that onrain is in a usable state currently, it is unreliable for ic communication. It is understandable, that the development team cannot manage a social media, because it is a lot of work managing it. We might have to accept we dont have the resources to have a social media such as onrain

While it saddens me that the website breaks down so often and that I can't read messages people send me directly and that half of the posts I try to upload can't process the image files I try to attach and I have to tag the person in a comment reply to notify them of me replying to them and the hashtags are being formatted weirdly and some other issues - I uh . . . . I do like Onrain.

i hate onrain wiht my core but i also love it so much
some sort of alternative or a few patches need to be payed attention to, the website is redundant considering you can't even make a post properly
discord would be ass though so

also the reason stated why it breaks is not the case. Some database queries are inefficient and over some migrations of infrastructure some indexes are lost and this takes time to incremently re-generate. I'm working on fixes.

This would kind of undermine all the work tippie has put into building this site for the community, things break, they will get to fixing it
