Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
୨୧ On SRP, the main focus is Karakura High School. Of course, there are plenty of sub-genres and other focuses but when you join the server the farthest you can get without putting in any extra effort is an 18 year old in high school. This is where the majority of the players end their journey on SRP and so the High School experience is very important. School time also takes up a big portion of the time on the server. A lot of players may only play for a few hours at a time and it could consist of being in the school so giving players the best experience during this time is to have an abundance of staff and teachers. Being a teacher can also help players move past high school since they need a certain amount of attended classes to move on to college! Teachers hold such an important role on SRP and help students excel on the server and have a better roleplay experience. I appreciate teachers a lot and admire them for their efforts on the server as well as in real life. Teachers are a big part of the server just like every other adult role that helps players experience new and different styles of roleplay!
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?: Yes

Describe your character: ୨୧ skin is wip! ୨୧
୨୧ Makena Iniko. A gorgeous woman who stands at 5’ 4. If you looked at her from head to toe, you’d first notice her hair. It was always done to perfection. Some of her many hairstyles were a blowout, up in a neat slicked back bun with a few stands hanging out in the front, or a silk press that was pin straight. Occasionally, she would wear her natural hair which was a curly afro that reached her shoulders. Beneath her snatched eyebrows were a pair of siren eyes that held dark brown orbs. A single glance could make anyone nervous. Moving down, from the bridge, her nose was wide and upturned. It suited her now mature facial features. Beneath that sat her voluptuous lips. They were round as she had no cupid’s bow. Her smile was beautiful and showed off her perfect teeth. Overall, Makena was a drop dead gorgeous woman.
୨୧ Now, if you were to ask about her personality, anyone would tell you that she was the kindest woman they’ve ever met. Her heart was big, but not worn on her sleeve. Overall, she was a closed off woman but she never let that stop her from being a good person. Although she kept her personal life personal, she listened to others and gave advice when she could. When speaking, she used proper speech and rarely used any kind of slang. As someone who grew up in a poor country, she did not have access to a good education. When she moved to Karakura at the age of 8, she learned so much about speech. The proper grammar, sentence structure, and so much more. Her appreciation for it guided her through school and she was the top student in her class. English was always her favorite subject. Books were so fascinating to her and reading was one of her favorite hobbies. With age, she discovered how passionate she was for the subject and was so desperate to share this passion with others who may feel the way she did when she was a kid. Makena wanted to teach her passions to others.
What is your character's outlook on students and co-workers?:
୨୧ Makena Iniko views all students equally until given a reason not to. Once a student has proved themselves to be troublesome or rude, she becomes stern and strict when speaking to said students. However, she never goes down to their immature level. Kindness will always be her go-to and if a problem can be solved with it then she will do her best to do so. Despite that, she will never let a student walk all over her and disrespect her or her coworkers.
୨୧ Makena values her coworkers with all her heart and respects all of them. She understands the hard work they put in and admires their efforts. The difference they make is huge and she, of all people, knows that. She has felt the impact of a hard working and caring teacher and adores her coworkers for being that for the students. Her kindness is for all, especially those that work with her.
What is your character's motivation for teaching?:
୨୧ Makena Iniko was born in Liberia, Africa. Her country was not a wealthy one which resulted in her access to education to be limited. Despite that, she tried her best to be the best student she could be to make her mother proud as she was very strict. Her mother met a kind Japanese man that was in Liberia for business purposes. He fell in love with her and would travel to Liberia more often to see her. After a year of this, he proposed to Makena’s mother and offered to help her move to Japan to give her a better life along with Makena, who he loved like she was his own. She said yes and they started the process to move to Japan.
୨୧ Once they got settled in Japan, Makena started school and the difference was astounding. She had access to so much more and was being taught so many new things. There were so many teachers and classrooms. She got driven to school every morning. Everything was so different and Makena was so grateful for her step-father for giving her a new life. She was sad to leave her friends but excited for all the opportunities this new place would give her. Her appreciation for her education was so much stronger than her peers. For most of them, this is all they have ever had to experience but, for Makena, this was like being in a different world, a world that was much more luxurious than the one she previously resided in. Makena worked hard to be the top of her class and become the best student she could be so that these amazing opportunities could keep coming her way. She wanted to create a good life for herself. English was her best and favorite subject. Grammar, nouns, sentence structure, vocabulary, and all the other aspects of English excited her. Books were the best way to expand her mind and she put so much time into reading. All through middle and high school, she worked hard for the best grades she was capable of getting.
୨୧ English remained the subject that she was most passionate about. Literature was her favorite. Writing essays was fun for her. Once she graduated High School, she decided the path that she wanted to take. Teaching was her dream. Giving kids the opportunities she had was her dream. Sharing her passion with others was her dream. She was such a dreamer, she tried to challenge herself in every way she could to be the best version of herself. Makena went to college and studied Education and English. After four years of blood, sweat, and tears put into her studies, she graduates top of her class once again. Now, she waits for Karakura High School to respond to her application for her first teaching job.
Roleplay Scenarios
A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
୨୧ Makena ends her lecture with a smile and scans the room, ensuring every student understood the topic. Amongst the many casual expressions were a few furrowed brows and confused pouts.
୨୧ “Does anyone have any questions?” she asked with a soft tone, hoping one of the lost students would raise their hands and express their confusion. Just as she hoped, one of the more extroverted students raised their hand.
୨୧ “Ms. Iniko, I don’t understand the part about the different tenses being consistent. Does it really make much of a difference?” the student asked.
୨୧ Makena nodded enthusiastically,” Of course it matters. Your passages won’t make much sense if I say I am currently doing something now but earlier in the passage I had said I had already done it. The tense does make a difference. Had and have, was and is, can and could. All of it makes a big difference in how consistent and professional you sound!”
୨୧ The student nods, now understanding the topic much better. The confusion faded away from the other faces and now held confident reassured expressions.
A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
୨୧ As Ms. Iniko stands at the front of the class, lots of chatter could be heard towards the back. Since they weren’t being too loud, Ms. Iniko let it go for now but planned on talking to the group after class. She proceeded to teach when one of the chatters bursted out laughing and caused everyone to turn around to see what was so funny, including herself. Frustration was written all over Makena’s face.
୨୧ “Excuse me, can you three quiet down in the back? I’m in the middle of teaching,” She asked as kindly as she could considering her now ruined mood. The group nodded as they giggled between one another. Makena sighed and turned back to the rest of the class.
୨୧ Only a few moments later did yet another exaggerated laugh come from the back of the room. Ms. Iniko snapped her head to the perpetrator with furrowed brows and a hard stare.
୨୧ “This is the third time you have caused disruption. I let the chatting slide, but you are interrupting my entire class. Do not come here if you don’t want to learn. Would you all like me to tell SLT? If not, quiet down and consider paying attention,” she explained sternly. The group got quiet and softly apologized. She nodded and accepted the apologies before returning to her lesson, with no interruptions this time.
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
୨୧ Team Scramble!
୨୧ The class will be divided into 4 groups. Ms. Iniko will go up to each group and ask them to unscramble a word in 30 seconds to a minute (the time limit will have to be tested) and if they manage to do it, they get a point! If not, no points and she moves onto the next team. Each team gets a different word to make it fair! There will be levels with different difficulties.
୨୧ Make the Correction!
୨୧ Students will group up into pairs or groups of 4 (depending on class size). Each student will write down a sentence into a book. They can choose to make it a very grammatically incorrect sentence, small incorrect grammar, or no grammar issues at all! Then, they will swap with their teammate(s) and try to figure out whether the sentence needs corrections or not, then give corrections if needed! Afterwards, they will pass the assignment up to Makena and she will use it as a grade to post on the board later!
