Describe your activity on the server:
My activity on the server is very high. Ever since joining in June of 2021, I’m online daily for a solid three or more hours. I spend my time interacting with others and building up on my character development. On the rare occurrence that I have to be inactive for trips, I’m always consistent on logging inactivity and assuring I complete quota for the month.

I’m consistent on getting quota in the things I’ve chosen to be a part of. I’ve never missed a month in getting quota on my Caretaker character, and my character who is currently in two school clubs.
I was a part of the EMS faction from August 2024 to November 2025. I have gotten a maximum quota (40+) for every month.
This is my playtime on my main account, Oliverium.
1763199226310.png

What is your motivation for applying?:
My main motivation stems from wanting to be a part of a community whilst exploring different types of roleplaying. I’m open to new factions and types of jobs within the server and feel like being an officer can open doors whilst also fitting my type of roleplay style. I love being in high adrenaline situations that add to a character’s development. During my time as a Doctor in the Emergency Faction, I’ve had a lot of fun moments and felt a sense of community. My favorite parts of being in the faction were EMS bonding experiences (parties, speaking in the lobby to each other, small events, etc.) and patrolling. My favorite aspects of being a Caretaker is enforcing rules for the sake of safety, as well as patrolling the school (and the bus of course). If I combined my favorite aspects of both, mixed with some other interesting parts (detective work, making discoveries, having access to tools, and enforcing laws), KPD would most definitely fit me.

What knowledge do you have of Police Work?
I’ve learned a lot about how the Emergency Faction functions by joining EMS. When you’re accepted, you’re able to go through a few weeks of training by more experienced members of the faction. In the end, you must prove yourself knowledgeable in order to move up from your initial cadet role. Officers have a vast array of responsibilities, consisting but not limited to: Front desk duty, taking reports and/or calls, questioning/listening to witnesses or suspects, taking on EMS-made incident reports, patrolling the city, upholding the law, patting down suspects, and visiting the hospital if you need a blood sample tested for DNA. They may also be requested to attend and contain large gatherings (such as small server events). The two main divisions of KPD are Officer and Detective. When it comes to the laws, they can be found on forums, as well as whether or not it’s a misdemeanor or felony. More information can be learned during training or by asking fellow KPD members!

Roles:
Commissioner:
Currently taken by Sasha/Hirathex, this role is reserved for the faction lead. This role is made primarily to organise the faction and keep it in order. Looking at the role in character, the commissioner is responsible for each and every member of KPD, from higher ups to cadets. They must assure each person does their job correctly in order to keep the city safe.
Captain: Similar to commissioner, the captain has many responsibilities for the main division. First, the captain makes sure to check up on lieutenants to assure they’re keeping up their work with good quality. They also must assure everyone else is upholding their day to day responsibilities. Only one person can be captain at a time.
Lieutenants: This rank is just below captain, and they are amongst the highest rank. They’re able to partake in the usual KPD tasks, but are familiar with it enough to be comfortable with holding training and answering questions others may have. They are also able to do their tasks with efficiency.
Sergeant: This rank is for those who are very comfortable in each police task. They lead others as well as give feedback, both positive and constructive, in order for lower ranks to do well in their jobs.
Corporal: For this rank, their main task is to help out cadets learn how to do their jobs well. When accepted to a job as important as KPD, cadets are often nervous or impatient to start going out and being a part of the police force. Corporals must take in account these feelings and assure new employees of the police station of their utmost comfort and belonging.
Patrol Officer: As the name suggests, patrol officers are able to go out on patrol. This rank is earned when a cadet passes their training, and can start being a part of the bigger group. They can answer calls, patrol, and be involved in the classic duties of an officer. However, they still require guidance, so shouldn’t be afraid to ask higher ranks questions.
Cadet: Also known as the trainees of the KPD, cadets are responsible for getting to know fellow officers and their duties, as well as attend training. They must pay attention and take notes for the test to be a cadet. They are also instructed by the commissioner (faction lead) to come up with a call sign and get acclimated to the discord.

Detective Division Roles
Detective Superintendent:
This role is the highest tank in the detective division. Their job is to oversee all detectives to assure their work is running smoothly. They report their findings to the commissioner, and have access to every and all investigation cases that are active.
Chief Inspector: This rank handles important, high-risk investigations. They’re able to give advice, express concerns, and can report feedback to their higher ranks.
Detective Inspector: The detective inspector is the next rank up from detective sergeant. These people are familiarized with their respective tasks and are able to give feedback to the lower ranks, making sure they do their jobs well.
Detective Sergeant: This rank consists of detective constables who passed their detective exam. They are still new to the job, but are trusted to take up the classic duties of a detective. These duties include taking on cases and investigating them.
Detective Constable: The detective constable’s role is made up of Cadets and Patrol Officers who are interested in becoming a detective. Essentially, it’s a training role for detectives.

Equipment:
There are a variety of tools KPD are given to assist them in their daily tasks. Some of them, however, are ItemRP’d, meaning there isn’t a physical item but it can still be taken and used ICly when needed.

Communication
Radio:
Unlike other factions, KPD radios are a bit different. It’s a hands off device that gives officers access to two channels. Channel 1 is private, only spoken between KPD. Channel 2 is the same, but can also be heard by EMS. The radio is mounted on the officer’s uniform, and can be broken with both blunt and sharp forces. However, it cannot be stolen.
Body Camera: Body cameras are a fairly recent item added to SRP. They don’t automatically work, however, so it’s up to the wearer to record footage using a screen recorder like Metal when doing anything significant, such as an arrest. Body cameras can be destroyed with blunt or sharp force.

Force + Restraints + Protection
Baton: A baton is made out of steel and can KO someone with two hits. It’s a blunt weapon Officers can use for defense against aggressors in close range combat. The item can be taken from an officer if it was dropped or knocked out of their hand.
Stun Blaster: Stun Blasters are used to inhibit movement from whoever it was fired at with prongs that contain electricity. This item cannot be taken from the officer, and can inhibit movement for an extended amount of time.
Pepper Spray: Pepper spray, instead of inhibiting movement, causes the victim to go blind for an extended period of time. When it gets into your eyes, it burns and is extremely painful, and will oftentimes stop everything you’re doing. Pepper spray cannot be taken, and it has three uses before you request to get another.
Handcuffs: A simple yet effective tool to restrain someone. Often applied to the wrists behind the back, it inhibits the movement of the person wearing them. They cannot be mugged, but can be broken with special tools.
Riot Shield: As the name suggests, this item is a large shield that can block attacks done from the front and the sides. Officers can create a wall and move people to a contained spot. It cannot be mugged and doesn’t protect attacks from behind.
Gas Mask: These masks are used to assure you’re able to breath in dire situations, such as fire or strong chemical smells. It can also stop the effects of pepper spray from reaching you.

Special Items (Ranked)
Tranquilizer: Given to those in Sergeant and Detective Inspector rolls this tool, when triggered, releases a dart full of anesthetic that essentially causes the person (or animal) shot to get woozy and fall asleep. Although it’s not lethal, those shot should get a check up to assure it didn’t do any lasting damage. These items are often used on bears.
Crowbar: Crowbars can be used to open doors, windows, and locked boxes, and are only given to those in Corporal and above. Crowbars shouldn’t be used as a weapon and can be taken.

ItemRP’d Items
Some items are not a physical part of SchoolRP, but rather ItemRP’d. These items include latex gloves so as to not leave fingerprints on evidence, luminol spray to check for any blood, first aid kit, which contains basic first aid, and a fingerprint scanner, which can identify a given fingerprint.

Extras
Breathalyzer: Used to detect alcohol in a person’s system. However, now with the drunk plugin and alcohol removed, it’s not used as much.
Fire Extinguisher: A tool used to quickly put out fires, large or small.
Police Vehicles: When it comes to vehicles, you have the cop car, which can fit people in the back, and police bikes, which can only fit one officer. They are used to transport people or get to a location quickly.

Why is Police important to SchoolRP?
The Karakura Police Department (KPD) is important to SchoolRP for a variety of reasons. First, they are here to compete with the Criminal Faction. Without the consequences, the criminals of Karakura will run rampant and the town would be one of chaos and disorder. Without the risk of consequences, being a criminal wouldn’t be as risky, taking away from the fun. Second, Police are important because they work with EMS. Both KPD and EMS are in the Emergency Faction, and their teamwork unites them together when it comes to an emergency situation. It provides the town of Karakura realism, as without laws, bad things occur. Thirdly, despite SchoolRP being focused around school, there are many hours where school is not in session, and people are able to roleplay in other ways. Having a government, emergency department, shops, reporters, and more makes the server feel more lively, and can allow students to explore different aspects of the server that aren't tied to homework. Lastly, police are important for those interested in applying. There are many forms of media out there circling around the idea of Police work, such as movies, documentaries, bodycam footage, and more. The idea of being a cop interests many people, and the ability to apply to be one in a town like Karakura would fulfill wishes. Role playing as a cop is a great experience, and having that option is awesome.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?
Yes, I understand if training is held and I’m online, I’m expected to attend.

What languages does your character know besides Japanese?:
Oliver is fluent in many languages. His native language is Italian, as well as being fluent in JSL, English, and Vietnamese.

Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?
OOC NOTE: Oliver Sunada is my oldest character I’ve had on SRP. He’s been through a lot and I’ve been developing him ever since November of 2021. I adore him and would love for him to have more challenges and a chance to explore such an intriguing role. I’d also like to see him expand his social life to the people in the emergency faction!

His hair cascaded in soft, silky waves of dark brown, framing a youthful face adorned with eyes as luminous as cyan sapphires. His tired gaze was clouded with paranoia, occasionally darting around like a deer in danger. He'd have thicker eyelashes, giving him a child-like appearance. He'd carry a light scent of soap.
1763199226375.png1763199263100.png

Oliver Sunada goes by a variety of names throughout his life. Oli is most common for everyday endeavors. He is also known as “Driver” by kids at school since he’s often the one driving the school bus. At one point, his co-worker, Joseph Riggs, a fellow Caretaker, called him “Mr. Sundae,” which made him laugh. At his PHD graduation, a name echoed from the speakers. “Congrats Mr. Sundada..!” He was confused, but took pride in his newly obtained diploma. At least that had his name spelled correctly.
1763199226383.png
Despite having a doctorate in psychology, Oliver still prefers to be referred to as Mister rather than Doctor Sunada. Not only was his dad and brother already “Doctor Sunada,” he’d rather keep it on a down low, he feels like he doesn’t need or deserve the title, and others perceive it as being humble.
Sunada is someone who takes interest in crime-related documentaries, especially those who explain why someone did what they did. Criminal psychology is the term; Oliver believes that there is no way to predict how you’d react in any given situation, especially in high stress. He can give a general idea, but human nature is often unpredictable.
When he’s doing his job, he tends to find it calm, cleaning zen if you will, until a situation pops up involving students. He quickly finishes what he was doing, such as place a wet floor sign, before attending to the situation. When that’s finished, he tends to head to the faculty lounge for a quick break before gaining energy to get back to what he was doing.

How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?
Casual

In a casual setting, Oliver is the book definition of an introvert. If he has no reason to go out, he’s usually cooking himself dinner and watching television or exploring a new hobby. Oliver likes new challenges, especially those of tactility. When he does interact with others casually, he’s often lighthearted when in a good mood. However, due to undiagnosed insomnia, he’s often drowsy and sleeps during the weekend when he gets the chance. He likes to explore a few people on a deeper lever rather than many people on a surface level. He’s open to dating, and he takes things rather seriously and establishes what his partner wants in life before moving forward. He loves nature, taking those he feels comfortable with on a picnic in the forest or the beach. He’s good at masking his inner thoughts, so he appears simple from the outside, despite the complexities coming from his inner workings.

Professional
Oliver Sunada enjoys hands-on work, finding himself engrossed in his current job cleaning the school as well as taking care of injured students when the nurses aren’t in yet. When not at his paid job, he enjoys flying to the mainland to work on house flipping with his cousin. He’s a carpenter, and loves woodwork, painting, and interior design.
Whilst working, Oliver tends to question things that don't make sense, such as why Mr. Akiyama was mopping the courtyard with Abuella. He takes his job seriously and never leaves a job undone. Once, a group of students spread jam and flour in the principal’s office area, and Oliver, after calling for assistance, was able to clean it up, despite taking hours to do so. He’s not afraid to ask for help or question things he’s comfortable with.
Part of his current job is enforcing school rules and safety. He’s been doing it for years now, and finds himself quite comfortable confronting those who break the rule.
As for the reason why he wants a career change? Although he enjoys his job, he has become too comfortable and would like a challenge. Another sense of purpose to keep the town clear of opportunities for crime. He has gone through enough of that already, and believes he has what it takes to make an impact whilst enjoying what he does.
What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?
When it comes to working with his co-workers, he sees himself as a great team player. A recent event was held for school faculty, and his team came on top of the pumpkin scavenger hunt. He loves competition, playful yet determined to do the best. When he needs help, he’s always quick to click on the radio and ask for assistance. He understands people’s roles and duties, and can effectively solve problems by calling up the right people. He’s good at remembering names, which comes in handy when speaking to others. He sees his co-workers as equals, speaking to them professionally yet down to earth. He values being comfortable, and tries his best to make others feel that way around him.

What's your character's backstory?

Born on November 12 in Naples, Italy, Oliver came into the world at the side of his loving mother, Natalia La Rossa Sunada, and his hard working father, Yaginuma Sunada. He was brought home to his maternal grandparents and his little brother Haru, age 3 at the time. Oli’s grandparents were able to take care of him and his brother whilst his parents worked. Natalia was a server at a restaurant, and Yaginuma was a highly demanded Paramedic. Because of this, Oliver’s parents weren’t home as much for the first few years of his life. When Oliver was 4, Natalia quit her job as a server to fulfill her passion in writing and teaching kids; by becoming a children’s literature writer. She would often write books and read those books to her sons, Oliver and Haru. It was quite special, and Oli cherished those books throughout his childhood. Oli’s father would often be gone, doing long shifts at his hospital job. Oftentimes it would be a mix of day and night shifts, causing him to arrive home exhausted and needing to go to bed. He was overall a good father to the boys, as well as a good husband, but moments as a family were quite rare. Sometimes, Oliver would wonder why his dad chose his job over him.
As Oliver grew older, he would be encouraged to get outside of his comfort zone by his parents. They watched Haru achieve so much academically whilst Oliver fell behind. His dad especially had high hopes for his boys, and signed them up for school clubs and sports. Haru was often seen as gifted. The family often referred to him as the “golden child,” and it didn’t help that Haru had natural golden blonde hair either. Oli felt discouraged, but had to keep up with his father’s demands. He was signed up to play baseball, which at the time could barely hold the bat straight. He was signed up to play chess, but he could only see one move at a time.
By the time Oli reached the age of 8, his grandparents started teaching him gardening. They had many types of plants on their balcony, including climbing vines. Oliver took a liking to gardening, and he also hated getting his hands dirty, so also took a liking to soap. The smells and the suds as well as the different types; he’d always use too much when washing his hands. He’d also mix them together, and ever since, he carried a light scent of soap that trailed behind him at all times. People called him germaphobic because of his obsession though, but Oli didn’t know what it meant so just ignored it.
Flash forward to a peaceful sunny day, aged 9, Oliver was watching cartoons on the couch while his grandmother was talking on the phone. Suddenly, Oliver was in the car driving to the hospital. Turns out while taking Haru somewhere, there was a bad car crash, and Haru and Natalia were in critical condition. Paramedic Yaginuma was the first on the scene, and seeing his family involved broke him down. He did do his job, however, and brought his wife and son into the hospital before calling his mother-in-law over.
Whilst his mother was receiving life saving care, Oliver was brought to his brother’s room. He was heartbroken to see his brother in such poor shape: groggy and two broken legs. Oli was scared, and rightfully so, so when he broke down into sobs, he was taken home.
Yaginuma took a long break from his job after the incident, he stayed home with Oli and often brought him to the hospital to visit his mother and brother. Oli couldn’t see his mother quite yet, but often visited his brother, who could barely speak. They would communicate with pictures each visit, and Haru would be taken to all sorts of therapies and checkups before being discharged home.
Life wasn’t the same after that, Oli didn’t quite understand the severity of the situation and would ask questions of when his mother would come home. Now that he father was home, Oli would constantly beg for him to play, after all, Haru was stuck in bed and couldn’t. Yaginuma tried hard to take care of his sons, but was unable to keep up. Because of that, Oli was sent off for slumber parties more often. He thought it was awesome to stay up all night, watch movies, and eat snacks, but he started to get old after a while, ending up bored and just wanting to go to bed as soon as the sun went down.
Natalia was able to come home after a couple months, and her kids were ecstatic. They were finally a family again, able to live their lives again, even if it was different.
At age 15, Oliver wanted something different, so he saved money and bought a one way plane ticket to Karakura, Japan. He knew Japanese from his father, so the new language wasn’t a challenge. However, he failed to set up living arrangements, so he was stuck living in a cheap beach house until a spot opened up. Karkura was in a housing crisis at the time of Oli’s arrival, so it took a solid six months until he finally got an apartment of his own.
When in Karakura, he had lots to discover, it was a new place with quite a high crime rate. However, he didn’t do any research before moving on his own. He met a variety of people he felt close to, including a boy by the name of Luca. Luca and he would often climb Mount Karakura and play games like Truth or Dare with the friend group.
When Oli was 18 and comfortable with the town and his friends, he thought he had it all. He even found a love interest who returned feelings. However, Luca was pushy towards Oli, and he never set boundaries, which caused him to continue letting Luca push him around.
At one point, Oli found himself in a situation where Luca turned violent, and he took Oli and a friend to his apartment and wouldn’t let them leave. Luca would leave them alone, only coming back to speak and give them food. Oli was terrified and paranoid, and wouldn’t stand up for himself, because when he tried, he’d get physically assaulted. He even tried escaping at one point, only to be brought back and punished.
There were several points where Luca would leave his apartment, so with one of those occurrences, Oli took his chance and called the cops. When KPD arrived, they broke down the door and rescued Oli and his friend. While talking outside, Luca returned and was promptly escorted away.
For the next several years, Oli developed severe anxiety and paranoia, flinching at everything. He couldn’t handle it anymore, and he knew Luca would be out of prison soon, so he vowed to change his identity and hide. He just knew when Luca returned, he’d be looking for him. So to a friend’s apartment he went, dying his hair raven black and finding glasses he didn’t even need. His eyes strained, but he ignored it. He called himself Lev and tried to live a normal life, paranoid at every movement in the corner of his eye. He was okay though, different enough to make a difference, as if Lev was reaching out a hand, a protector of sorts.
1763199685391.png
Once Oli’s hair grew out and the fear of Luca subsided, Oli was able to focus on his studies. He chose Psychology, and he made his way up through his Masters program and even a PHD! Due to him taking it seriously and finding his own path, he decided to break up with his girlfriend. Not even a week after, his now ex was found dead in his apartment, most likely a murder, as there was a note left behind. Oli was distraught, of course, and brought her to the hospital, running on pure shock and adrenaline. That’s where he was there, waiting for EMS, muttering under his breath. She was pronounced dead, and was told to go home. Oli went to the KPD the next day to express his concerns regarding the crime scene, but was told to use bleach to clean it up and nothing ever came of it. So he did, he pitched the area rug and took several hours to scrub the hardwood floors, and even the walls.
Not long after, Oli graduated with his PHD and was off to his job as a Caretaker in Karakura High. Enforcing safety rules and cleaning the halls, it was the perfect job for him. He loved it, actually, he found enjoyment in the small things, and was excited about the new bus routes. Years of his job, he felt fulfilled, until recently..
Oliver finds himself coming to work wanting more. It’s nothing more of a routine at this point, and seeks out for something more challenging. His skills include enforcing rules, talking things out with disorderly students, checking CCTV, driving, and coming to work every day with a uniform. These skills transfer nicely to cop work, and since they have helped him in his most vulnerable state, he thought he’d pay them back with his own skills and abilities.

General knowledge

Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?
No, pocket knives are not legal in Karakura. Simply owning one is a felony and can result in jail time. If I was to see one, I would confiscate it and proceed with the original arrest.

Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription
Wooden Cane:
A cane can assist with balance. Old and young, I see a select few using one around Karakura.
Cough Syrup: For those with an illness (cold, flu, etc), a symptom being a cough. If you take cough syrup, it should soothe your throat.
Melatonin: A sleeping aid. However I’ve learned it’s not recommended to help long term with sleep, as it can cause those who’re sleeping to wake up too early. It happens to me, hence why I stopped taking it.
Vitamins: Good for anyone! Take with a meal and you’ll be rich in vitamins that can help with your mood and physical health.
Hearing Aid: These are recommended as a first step in assisting those with hearing loss. If they don’t work, the person is able to get a hearing test in order to consider the next step: cochlear implants (which do require a prescription).

If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
“After checking whether or not my body camera is on, I’ll work on gathering video evidence. I’ll resist stepping in physically because my safety is important. I wouldn’t hesitate to shout at them to stop, however. If they do, I’ll be sure to bring the incident up to my higher ups, gathering body cam footage and possible CCTV footage for different angles.”

What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?
“First, I’ll assure my body camera is on and rolling before I radio for assistance. Whilst waiting for backup, I would verbally shout to break it up before I would move in physically. Safety is the number one priority, so I'll use a verbal queue before getting physical. If they fail to break it up, I’ll rely on my given tools, tasing the aggressor if nothing else works. When the situation is calm enough, I’ll call for EMS to treat any injuries, no matter the severity.”

What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?
“The first thing I would do is gather any possible evidence. An accusation like that is pretty serious, so I want to be one hundred percent sure before bringing it up to our higher ups. I’ll want to sit down and address my concerns along with any evidence I’ve gathered, such as audio footage of the co-worker talking about it, or CCTV footage of them and the criminal chatting outside. Confronting the co-worker can also be an option, for any chance of them explaining themselves, but even so, it shouldn’t be my place to confront when I can let my higher ups take care of it. It’s my responsibility to address issues within my place of work, but it’s not my responsibility to solve it all myself. Secrets shouldn’t be kept, after all.”

How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?
“This actually happened to me at school regarding a student and a detention slip. When I was writing down the student’s name on the slip, they promised to give me money to let it go. I don’t remember the exact amount, but it was around thirty thousand yen. I refused the offer and told him to show up to detention after school. However, several other staff reported the same student bribing them as well. No one fell for it, and he was to spend time in detention.
As for criminals and bribing, it’s different. It’s more serious than thirty minutes in after school detention for cursing out a teacher. First, I would take the approach of talking to the criminal, reminding them that bribing a cop is a big no-no. If it continued, I would proceed with the legal action, a fine. I would fine the criminal, as well as proceed with the original charges.”
