TRIVIA SECTION

What is your motivation for becoming a professor?:

I had originally planned for Jack Denvers to be a professor after college but ended up going with the caretaker option instead. In character, JD has a very in-depth love/obsession literature (specifically gothic works) which is what he studied in college and got a Master's degree in. Out of character I really enjoy working icly within the school and being able to play a character who already has a fleshed out personality would make it even more enjoyable. I really like the roleplay I get from interacting with both good and bad students which is why I partially miss being a caretaker.

Work out two interactive classes you will host if accepted:

1. Dissecting the work, literally. For this interactive class it would be focusing on the story of Edgar Allan Poe's Tell-Tale Heart and creating a "crime scene" for the death of Joseph White. If you have ever had an interactive crime scene you would know, but for anyone unaware this involves a small set up for the story's setting and set scene. This would be an interactive discussion involving both solo and group exploration where you can physically stand in the "crime scene" of the story as if they were playing as detectives. Students would be allowed to ask for hints from the professor if needed, but their conclusions would need to be drawn for themselves for what the motive, method, and outcome of the murder consisted of.

2
. Mixing in drama. Reading plays can be boring if you are just reading them like a book. Rather than having a play read in and out of class, students will be acting out their roles in the play 12 Angry Men. Since there are 12 juror roles, they would have to be picked up by willing students rather than chosen at random, hopefully giving the ones who want to actually participate more of a roleplay experience (plus some reward tokens!) outside of just answering questions. The play is somewhat long, so this might have to be a multi-day activity. After finishing the play, extra credit would be given to students willing to watch the movie rendition (12 Angry Men 1957) and compare the two in a short one page essay.

Work out a field trip (meaning a class outside school grounds) you will host if accepted:

A reading day field trip to the bookstore beside the 11/7. The bookstore is not only within walking distance but the seating area between the two stores is perfect for an outdoor reading session. The class can get together to have a dedicated reading day of their choice. There would be two sections; those reading and those who are having group discussions about their reading. This type of reading day would also be a common class activity but with the ability to change locations.

This same activity can also be set at the monastery. With the permission of cloud_divider, the field trip would be giving students the chance to read a book of their choice while being housed in a peaceful and relaxing environment. This would also hopefully bring more attention and visitors to the shrine both during the field trip and outside of school.

SCENARIO SECTION

Your character would encounter a group of college jocks surrounding a bobcat jock, what would your character do?

Interrupt and separate the groups. JD would go and tell the college students off and then pull the bobcat aside to talk to them about the situation and keep them from instigating with the spartans. There is a bit of wiggle room with this if it is in relation to rivalry.

Your character would be supervising detention, one of the students constantly disturbs by asking stupid questions, what would your character do?
Warn them to stop. JD had supervised a few rounds of detention while working as a caretaker and that usually was filled with students causing issues. If they continue to do so they get another task added on or JD would answer each question in excruciating detail.

Your character would be hosting a class, and a group of cheerleaders keeps on playing songs on the phone and call out other students in the class, what would your character do?
Tell them to leave the class. He wouldn't care to waste a detention on them, instead he would rather just send them on their way as they weren't involved in the class to begin with if they were disturbing it.

Your character would be walking on the school perimeter and encounter a fight between a couple of students, your character tried to break it up but it didn't help, what would your character do?
First he would call for assistance over the radio and then once more attempt to break up the fight. If there is no breaking it up, he would issue their detentions after various warnings and hopefully have other faculty would be there at that point. JD would be willing to physically step between the fight to separate them if necessary and then report both parties to SLT.

CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE

Tell us everything you know about the character you will be playing in a few paragraphs. What does they look like? What makes them unique and different? What is their outlook on Students? What about the other teachers? What is their personality like? What is their plan for the future?

Standing at 5'2, the Caucasian male would be littered in freckles and scars. His right eye was a light gray color, while his left was an artificial prosthetic with a purple iris. Accompanying the left side of his face was a ghastly scar stretching from the underside of his ear all the way to his forehead. Towards the bottom of the scar the skin would be missing in chunks, while the top was mostly just burns. His hair was naturally black, but was often dyed various colors or shades. At this point, his hair would be white with the roots growing back in and kept in a messy ponytail. He would have scars on his face and ears from piercings, and noticeably two stud anchors on both sides of his forehead where plastic horns could potentially be attached! Since he has spent a lot of his college years involved in various crowds, such as criminal, he has a very optimistic view on the world and hopes to guide those similar to him in that age towards a better life. He is typically very sympathetic towards students, even opting on only providing warnings and rarely detention. If needed, he wont have an issue with punishment for students who are outright disrespectful or even dangerous. He would much rather prefer to communicate with his students rather than co-workers, but he would if needed. Other workers would most likely only see him pass in the halls or the lounge before anything else, or maybe even just a quick message over the radio. He can be a little short-tempered, but he has spent a lot of his time working on this issue to keep him from expressing it outwardly. The most people might get out of him if he is irritated is a sarcastic comment. Given his rollercoaster of a life, he has decided to live life in the moment. His plans for the future would easily be summarized in a simple "We will see" mentality, with the exception of anything relating to his daughter Remy. He is the opposite when it comes to Remy, which means he always has a plan for any possible outcome just to guarantee her safety.

Describe how your character ended up becoming a teacher and their previous life. It is optional to include earlier life but recommended.
Make sure this is over 100 words.

Jack Denvers, commonly referred to as JD, grew up as the son of a Christian pastor. At a young age, he both learned various points of religion from the bible as well as branched out to learn about other cultures. He had been raised to learn Latin as a way to read an untranslated version of the bible along with the English version. After reaching his middle school years he gained a very common interest in Japan. Since he had already had experience with learning a language, he decided to study Japanese during his free time. Around the last two years of high school, JD decided to fully take up learning Japanese instead of casually. He grew up constantly running into issues with his father and his very strict parenting, going as far as to get multiple facial piercings and even body-modified horns. After he graduated high school and hit his 18th birthday in October, he dropped everything and moved to Japan to get away from his home life. He spent the first year hopping from hotel to hotel until he decided to move to Karakura for its lower price range and community college at 19.

He spent his first year studying music and living unofficially within the fraternity. The second year, at 20, he joined the Spartan Cheer-team and became an official resident of the now combined Spartan housing. Even after falling victim to situations with the city’s crime issue, he has since recovered both mentally and physically. Although he still has a faint stutter when he talks due to brain damage he endured, it mostly flairs up in situations he gets stressed in. His original plan was to study literature and become a teacher, but he started to reconsider his career path. He also hoped to start working within the same building he once attended. While he continues his studies elsewhere, he sought out working as a caretaker for KHS and the combined college since it is a more familiar environment and something he would be able to ease into for a job since the typical career is out of his abilities. A large chunk of his 20s consisted of working as a caretaker with his close friend Rinne Maeda and (now deceased) ex-husband Saburo Denvers.

Looping back to his original plan to become a literature teacher, he pursued the path of becoming a professor at Karakura Community college given that he is a graduate. His passion for arts and reading lead him to continue his own personal studies of literature just in his free time. The past few months for JD have proven difficult in their own manner, but with the addition of a new relationship and his daughter being involved in bobcat sports, he began to seek out a more stable career that could give him the change to keep a closer eye on his daughter as well as spending more time with her.
