What is your motivation for applying?:
There are quite a few reasons that push me to join this faction. It all started when I decided that I wanted to quit GangRP and CrimeRP, and so I tried to join one of the "opposite" factions. I had a choice between government, hospital and police. I knew in the past I applied for KPD and got denied, same with hospital. So, the choice was obvious, I decided to apply for government, more precisely to become a lawyer as I felt they worked the most with the police faction. Five months ago, I was accepted as a lawyer and officially quit my former gang, The Tsu Clan. Naturally, having nothing else to do I poured my heart and time into the faction, dedicating everything to it. As I expected, I found myself loving it, the work, the people I met, the activities, the trial preparations, and much more. However sooner or later things slowed down within the faction, other lawyers, old and new, slowly started leaving. The activity within the faction started dying off, slowly, and my passion for the faction died with it. I have decided rather recently that I wanted to leave this faction and try for the Police faction, for the second time. So, one of the main reasons as to why I want to join this faction is because I want to be involved with a non-crime-oriented faction, rather the opposite.

My passion for becoming a Police Officer goes back two years, when I first joined SRP. Whenever someone first joins SRP they notice two factions, the ones that revolve around the School and the Police faction. I think the reason why people notice the factions within the School one is pretty obvious, but perhaps the reasoning why the Police faction is so noticed is not. Let me explain, the police faction is one of the most important ones out there, a majority of factions work with/against it. The News faction covers reports about police officers, arrests, wanted individuals. The Hospital faction tends to any medical need an officer may need, additionally, they perform psychiatric evaluations to "clear" them for duty. The Government faction maintains the law and constitution; the Police faction enforces it. The Crime, Gang and Black-Market factions clash the most with the police faction in role-play. This makes the faction very active and involved within the community, this peeks my interest and makes me want to dedicate my time into it, I feel as there is never a dull moment within the faction.

Another reason is that I have and had quite a few friends within the faction, and along the past few months I have been more and more interested in joining, not only because of the activity, but because I hear from my friends how much they enjoy, how much they love the faction and I too want to share this enjoyment for it.

Additionally, as a lawyer I have been exposed to a lot of interactions with members of the faction. There are so many interactions that have taken place and I hope to have more within the faction. A lot of different things were role-played out, such as requesting CCTV footage for government cases, representing clients during questionings or interrogations, advising citizens on what plea they should make, reporting crimes, preparing a class-action lawsuit which involved a majority of the factions, and much more. If there is one faction that works closely with the Police is the Government faction. Lawyers must work alongside of Police Officers; they go hand in hand. There could not be a police faction without a government one. The government faction writes and maintains the laws and constitutions whilst the police faction is tasked with enforcing those laws within the streets.

Lastly, I am deeply invested on developing a lore driven backstory to each and every one of my characters, I seek to achieve role-play within the faction.

What knowledge do you have of Police Work?

ARRESTS:
Police workers's primary duty is to arrest individuals who commit crimes, there are two types of arrests; Felony and Misdemeanour. Upon arrest individuals will be given the option to plead Guilty or Non Guilty, if they plead non guilty that will trigger a Non Guilty Plea Filing.

FILING NGPs:
Often during arrests police workers are met with Non Guilty Pleas. To file these non guilty pleas they must explain what happened in the arrest and provide the evidence, a lawyer will review the plea, file a case. After that the case could be accepted or denied depending on the evidence and charges.

REPORTS & FRONT DESK:
Officers must sometimes work the front desk duty, during this time they must answer questions, listen to complaints, gather evidence for lawyers, and sometimes take individuals to the back to listen to a report. Reports are usually when civilians witnessed a crime and have evidence of it and want that individual arrested. However sometimes, the civilian is the victim and wants the attacker arrested.

EVENTS:
Occasionally there are events around the server that include the Police Department, such as trials where officers are given quota for ensuring safety within it, or sometimes there are more dangerous events like the one where Manhanto attacked the Mayor and broke into the Town Hall, during that event the KPD had to get into riot gear and ensure order at the scene.

VISITATION:
Most of the time when a criminal is arrested they have a friend or a family member come visit them, to do so they must have a police officer at the front desk, or call the hotline, they will be brought to a room which is divided in two by glass, using the phone they will be allowed to communicate with the criminal, however there are rules to these visitations, for an example all communication in a language other than Japanese is forbidden, and will result in the visitation being ended immediately. Additionally, there must be 2 officers minimum for visits (I believe)

PATROLS:
Another great source of quota is Patrols, members of the police department must go on patrol around the city and ensure the law is upheld and respected. This is usually when most arrests are witnessed by police officers.

INTERROGATIONS:
When an individual is suspected of having committed a crime a detective usually interrogates them in a special room, the individual has the right to a lawyer and to stay silent.

RAIDS:
Sometimes raids are done by members of the Police Department due to several different reasons, the most common being possession of illegal weaponry. If someone is arrested for that then that will trigger an automatic warrant, which needs to be filed and accepted, which will allow the Police Department to raid the property, in search of more illegal weaponry.

Why is Police important to SchoolRP?
The Police are important to SchoolRP mainly because they fight against criminals and protect civilians from danger. The crime faction has been growing greatly in the past few years. Making them one of the factions the most interacted with. This has increased the criminality rate and triggered the Karakura Police Department to have to fight more and more. As mentioned in Bloody Pi Day the Police had to respond to a report and investigate a turf, further within the turf they were attacked by criminals. The fight ended a few hours later with any injuries, including the Commissioner who had been taken hostage, this is important because in the end the criminals were arrested and dealt with and it shows that even in great loss, success thrives.

Despite what everyone says the Police faction is not only important due to having to fight the Crime faction, but it’s also important because it goes hand in hand with the Government faction. The Government faction writes and implements laws, whilst the Police faction enforce them.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?
Yes, I acknowledge this and agree to it.

In-Character (IC) Section

What's your character's full name?:
The male approached the interviewer(s) with young confidence radiating off of him, he sat down, his hand placed on his lap. Sotoshi listened to the question which was asked of him by the interviewer(s), he opened his mouth, speaking, "My name is Sotoshi Nakazumi," He paused for suspense "pleasure to meet you." He would have a standard Japanese Accent.

How old is your character (if accepted)?:
Grinned as he heard the question, he briefly closed his eyes, "I'm twenty five years old!" He leaned back into his chair, crossing his arms. "Young aren't I?"

What are your character's gender and pronouns?:
Rose a brow, gesturing at himself. He rolled his eyes, and spoke "I identify as he/him, and I'm a Male."

Please select your highest academic role at the time of writing this application:
(Grade-12/Bachelors/Masters/PhD):

Grinned once again, Sotoshi was confident, "I have a Masters degree in criminology." He adjusted his position, letting his arms fall to his sides.

What languages does your character know besides Japanese?:
The former lawyer scratched his head, speaking, "I know no other languages.."

Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?
Stood up, allowing the interviewer to look at him properly. Sotoshi is a striking young man. The colour of his hair could only be describes as light hazel. He would have soft, deep brown eyes, making you trust him more. The young Nakazumi stood at an impressive height of 6'3, though that is pretty short for the city of Karakura. The clothes worn by this man would hug his body, his lean body evident. Sotoshi then grinned, "Don't I look impressive?" He paused for a moment, what made him unique? He scratched his head and pulled out two certificates; the National Police Agency Commendation for Bravery and the Good Citizen Award. These two certificates prove that proved himself worthy for this line of duty and that he had not acquired one but two awards. "I was awarded these two certificates at twenty two.." He sat back down, closing his eyes, remembering glimpses of what had happened.

How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?
Grinned. "In all professional situations I act professionally, as I represent my house and my workplace. For an example, when I was a lawyer and in a client meeting I would act respect, avoid vulgarity and make sure to write everything down! When i'm in public, I still must act professional as I am representing my house, my family, the Nakazumi family, so I must maintain a good reputation. Buttt! When i'm in private with myself or with my friends, I act friendly, and let myself go a little more."

What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?
Crossed his arms together. "They say teamwork makes the dream work, and I believe it. I think that it's important to have co-workers and to work in a team because otherwise work would be boring! It also allows whatever we are working on to have an extra set of eyes and ears, so if I'm patrolling with two other officers, I feel more at ease, safer even. Because I know that whatever happens next, they would have my back and I theirs."

What's your character's backstory?
Born in the season of Sakura Blooms, Sotoshi Nakazumi came into the world like every other child, crying and miserable. However, the crying quickly stopped as he laid his eyes onto his birth-giver, this stunning blonde person that he would soon enough call his mama. Days past and sooner rather than later Sotoshi was brought to his new home, the Nantoshi Estate in the south of Korea. Sotoshi had two parents present in his lives, like any other regular baby, Isamu Nakazumi and Seo-ah Nantoshi. Along the years Sotoshi developed a curiosity for knowledge and stories, so the first story he wanted to know was why his parents, Isamu and Seo-Ah decided to marry, how they met, the question that every child has asked their parents before. To Sotoshi's displeasure his parents did not want him knowing the story, so he logical did what any twelve year old boy would do, he went to his grandparents. The young Nantoshi-Nakazumi learned the truth that very day, the truth that his parents hid from him. Isamu had met Seo-Ah at a charity Gala, they hadn't hit it off, they hated each other in a way that cats hate dogs, but their grandfathers saw an opportunity, the Nantoshi family needed to expand their trade with the West and the Nakazumi family required more money to invest into other business'. Naturally, both heirs were spoken to and convinced to marry each other, they were not threatened, were not forced, the idea was planted by their parents, but the decision was theirs. At first they did like each other's company, but slowly as the years passed they started to develop mutual feelings for each other. They would both work during the day and in the evening talk about everything and anything, as if it was the most simple thing in the world. Maybe it was.

Growing up Sotoshi was never in need of anything, he received love from his parents, presents, attention and he loved it. He was not overly spoiled, but was not in need of anything either. At eighteen he decided he wanted to get a master's degree in criminology. He wrote essays about his boring, uneventful life, and somehow still got in. He was puzzled, knowing that usually universities looked at interesting people, he did not consider himself interesting. Three years in Sotoshi wanted to be a lawyer, a prosecutor for the government, he was sure of it. Then at twenty one everything crumbled into pieces.

The morning of October 5th started like any other morning, Sotoshi went into his car, drove to school, he attended his morning classes and after lunch he decided to walk around his beautiful campus. Upon walking he had seen people running away from something, but he didn't think anything of it. Until a loud sound rung in his ears violently, a gunshot. He immediately dove for the ground, looking around, trying to find the shooter. The shooter, probably a student at the university had a gun and had it pointed at two other students, one tried to run and in consequence got shot in the leg, Sotoshi watched, his heart pounding in his chest. He decided to be brave and ran towards the shooter, tackling him to the ground, after a few minutes of wrestling with the armed student he finally won and successfully rendered him unconscious. He picked up the phone and called 119, whilst speaking to the hospital they guided him to help the wounded individual. Sotoshi applied pressure to the wound, not letting the female fall unconscious due to blood loss, he spoke to her, reassured her, waiting for the ambulance to arrive. After what felt like an eternity an ambulance arrived and sped away with the wounded girl. Police had shortly arrived and secured the student into handcuffs, Sotoshi noticed a male watching, older, he thought nothing of it, perhaps it was a professor.

A few nights later Sotoshi woke up to screams in the Nantoshi estate. He looked outside the window and saw the face again, the older male who had been watching the arrest was at his home, next to him a fire. Sotoshi tried to run out of his room, the door was locked, barred, as if someone locked him in. He looked out again, the male smiled at Sotoshi and walked off. The estate, built using wood burned easily, and rapidly, it wasn't soon after the flames moved up towards the second floor, his mind raced, did everyone survive? Was he going to survive? Finally he grabbed his desk and rammed it against the door, one, two, three times and the door gave into the force. The young man tried to run to the front entrance but it was already engulfed in flames, he looked around, chaos, screams, he wondered if this was the end, until he heard them, sirens.

Sotoshi woke up a few days later in the hospital, after speaking with the hospital staff and the police, he was told that the older man was the father of the boy that Sotoshi helped the police arrest and even worse, a servant was paid off to lock the door of his bedroom, making him unable to escape. After finding all of that out he was told something else, he was the only one who survived in the fire, the Nantoshi bloodline erased out of existence, except for him. Sotoshi took a few weeks to grieve and then promised himself he would become a prosecutor and put dangerous, evil people away, people who harmed him and harmed innocent civilians. In consequence of these two major events the local government of South Korea awarded Sotoshi two awards; the National South Korean Police Agency Commendation for Bravery and the Good Citizen Award. He kept those diplomas with him his entire life.

At twenty five, he graduated and wanted to become a prosecutor but he wasn't sure where. Should he stay in South Korea? Or move closer to the Nakazumi family. Sotoshi moved to an island in Japan and moved into the Nakazumi Mansion in Karakura city. He applied to become a prosecutor and was accepted.

Sotoshi spent a year as a prosecutor, he loved it but hated it at the same time, his mind kept racing back to the time he tackled the individual to the ground, and helped the police arrest him. The young man realised something slowly, he didn't want to be a Prosecutor, but a police officer. So he applied to become a member of the Karakura Police Department.

General knowledge

Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?
Shook his head, full of confidence. "Absolutely not, you may not own a pocket knife in Karakura legally. It is illegal and will result in your property being raided if you are caught having one."

Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription
Pondered for a moment, then spoke, "Five medical items that you do not need a prescription to have on your person are; Hearing Aids, Unbranded Bandages, Wooden Canes, Melatonin, and Paracetamol"

If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
Crossed his arms, already unhappy from simply hearing about the question. "Police Brutality is not permitted under any circumstances, if I catch anyone doing so, I will ensure my body cam is on, as it always should be, and I will report the case to my higher-ups as soon as possible. Additionally, I will absolutely not let that co-worker remain on duty, I would detain them for as long as I need to, until a higher-up comes."

What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?
Sotoshi's eyes widened, he wasn't expecting these questions. "If I see my co-worker being assaulted, I would first try to calm the attacker down, then once the attacker let the co-worker go, I would run forward, tasing the attacker, then place cuffs and arrest the individual."

What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?
Grinned once more. "If I find out that my co-worker is corrupt and helping criminal organisations, my first decision would be to not alert them that I know, I would find as much evidence as I can and report them to my higher-ups."

How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?
Sotoshi would laugh at the question, "If they would try to bribe me I would laugh, criminals are usually broke and are just trying to save their own skin, there is no amount of money in the world that would make me abandon my morals for a criminal."

OTHER INFORMATION:
I will be leaving Government upon acceptance.
