Link any significant applications (e.g., Roles/Teams, exclude languages):
Currently, I only have one large and significant post on the forums as my shop application, which was unfortunately Denied after pending for a year and 2 days.

(Shop Application: En Beauté) X

What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:
Following along with my path on SRP, I have joined a largely roleplay based team, the cheer team, and I have enjoyed my time on it so far. I find myself writing detailed actions and also finding myself with way too much time. It makes sense that I would want to put my writing talents to use, with much more creative and descriptive writing than I can use in just normal RP, and the news faction can easily supply that need to me.

Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:
Throughout my years in real life, I have taken many different writing courses, such as a creative writing class and all of the different forms of papers I needed to write. I understand that the new faction is not some boring faction to write essays about some topic I don't care about all the time, it's actually a fun faction with writing that I want to write about. I’ve also found myself to write poems in different scenarios in my life. I've found writing as a coping mechanism and a way to find myself through the hardest of times.

Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:
Yes, I am perfectly aware of the rules, I have carefully looked over them and acknowledged things I can and cannot do. I will carefully guide myself to follow the rules and hope to be trusted to follow as such.

Why should we accept you over others?:
I really think I have about as equal a shot as all the other people applying, but what I believe sets me apart is my dedication. It’s clear in this application I have already mentioned my time on the Cheer team and having to manage my time properly to meet many deadlines while also having to learn hard movements on minecraft. It's clear I have some form of dedication and work ethic above others who may be too lazy or just don't have as much time as I do. Another example of this could be when I was the captain of the basketball team, I was left with really nothing as the last captain before me quit and I was fairly new to the team. I had to build myself up from the bottom, the team had only two players, me and an inactive person so I really had nothing to work with. I had to create all of the captain’s templates and host practices as well as tryouts with zero prior experience. These show values of effort and hard work as well as dedication, which others may not have.

Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.):
Yes I understand how serious that could be and I understand that writing should be about the report and not trying to spread some form of opinion that nobody needs to know.

Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:
I believe that I can meet the quota as well as log on and keep myself active. I have already kept myself active such as playing on my alt to keep activity up for a year straight in hopes that my shop application would be accepted.

Summarise what you imagine work as a reporter is:
Working as a reporter is an extremely important role in the city, a city without reporters is a city with no change or difference. For example (with less opinionated bases) the Muckrakers in the past. They absolutely changed America and the base of America because they brought light to the most obvious problems in America that nobody else was speaking up against. It left people feel free to express their opinions and without it nobody would have caused the change. This group of people from the early 1800’s-1900’s absolutely changed the course just by expressing their opinions.

IC (In-Character) Information:
Treat this section like it is your own character answering it

Full Name:
“My full name is Sylvia Vallimore.” She smiled, shooting her hand out to shake the interviewer’s. Her grip wasn’t entirely firm but it was still a good handshake! The first noticeable thing about the girl’s hands were how soft they were, the second was her perfect nails. A pink ombre on them, fading from a light pink to a slightly less light pink. There were gold flakes on some, even nail art on gold on another. “It’s ‘real nice to meet you, I’m excited for my time here!” She took her seat, politely crossing her legs and fixing her nice shirt.

Preferred Name/Nickname and Title (e.g., Ms, Mr)
Current Age (25+):
“Just call me Ms. Vallimore, if we have to be on that level, but I really would rather just Sylvia.” She cleared her throat quietly, adjusting herself in her chair. She really had to battle every single desire to want to spin around in the chair, but she fought past it, she could do that when she made the job! “I am currently twenty six years old!” She paused. “But my birthday is coming up, in just about one year!” She smiled, was she dumb? Surely not, she had to be a prodigy using that math.

Past job/work experience:
“Me?” She looked around the room, who else?! She was the only one there. “Uhm- Well actually I’ve never had a job before.. But I did mow the lawn at my parents house a few times!” She smiled, she was being dead serious. “I know it doesn’t seem like it but I really do want to work, my parents didn’t let me get a job for a while so they had me set up well.”

Degree/qualifications:
“Uh..” She gulped, Sylvia had been the lucky one, always able to make it by her parents until she got her first well-off job. This was her chance to get her own salary. “I don’t really have any past experience, but I’m willing to learn!” She smiled. “I also have a degree in Journalism, I guess that counts more towards a qualification.” She paused. “In class we sometimes had projects to interview our peers, so I’ve gotten pretty good at actually interviewing people and interpreting their answers using those methods.”

Nationality and born location:
“I was born in America, but my family has some German roots, I think also some Spanish roots.” She slightly questioned herself, was that the right word choice? She shrugged it off. “I came here pretty recently, I don’t even know anybody yet.”

Phone Number:
“Why do you want my phone number?” The girl looked a bit alarmed. “Are you trying to hit on me or something?” She paused, her face slightly contorted into that of disgust. “I’m not into you, and if I was, you’d know it.” She would then remember where she was, a look of worry spread over her face. “Uhm.. Sorry- I forgot this was an interview.. It’s 030-926-2756.” She even wrote it down on a kitty sticky note.

How would you describe yourself in under 150 words?:
“In what way?” She gasped covering her mouth, she was already using her words. “Oh goodness! That's already-” She gasped once more as she grimaced. “I would describe myself as a very smart young woman. I am independent, I have flown all the way from my home in America to see this job and I believe that confidence can get me through all of my tough life challenges! One of the things that I really think I do best is pay attention, I can spot something from far away or even close up, like how you’ve had your hands laced together for the past fifteen minutes and that they are also beginning to sweat..” She kinda cringed as the interviewer totally caught a stray, she pulled a tissue out of her cute purse and set it down on the table. “For your hands..” She nodded.

What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you consider going out of your comfort zone?:
“Personally, I think I’m interested in writing about the biggest issues in Karakura, I want to bring change to a city if it needs it.” She had one of those superhero smiles on her face before dropping it and speaking out. “And if the city is fine I’ll probably just advocate for all the stray animals I always see running around! I will achieve either one of these by writing different reports with passionate wording and clues to guide the readers in the right direction.” She blinked a few times, allowing silence to momentarily fill the room. “Which is my side of course.” She smiled.

What are your expectations for the job?:
She bit her inner cheek as her eyes looked around the room for an answer. “Expectations.. Well- I think that keeping myself to follow the quota will be a good expectation to uphold and if I can keep myself to that I can keep to really any of them! Keeping my time management sharp would be a really good aspect for this job, especially in a job that runs off of deadlines!” She paused for a moment, thinking of a part two? “Something else would be to keep my phone with me, I could write down all the notes that I need to take with that, or I could even take pictures with my phone and insert it into the notes app for keeping.” She nodded.

Do you have a criminal record? If so, list the crimes below:
“Criminal record?” She bit her lower lip, looking around the room. “Uhm.. Well-” She nervously rocked back and forth in her chair, beginning to bounce her right leg up and down anxiously. “Well- Not in Karakura. Does it count if I have a restraining order against me in Korea?” She awkwardly smiled, resembling that of Andrew Garfield’s smile.

Fluent Languages (Underline your native):
The girl blinked a few times. “I speak some Spanish, but I wouldn’t say I'm entirely fluent, just enough to know the basics.” She then thought, forgetting to answer the actual question. She needed to lock in if she wanted this job, things were getting intense and the interviewer could tell as she unshrimped and fixed her posture. “But I am fluent in Japanese. I may not be from here, but I’ve been practicing since I was a little girl!” She smiled. “Oh and I know some Korean too..”

PROMPTS:
You will have to write two reports about a topic of your choice. Here we can see how pronounced your writing is and how creative you are. Use your own formatting and your own report idea. (If you're found plagiarizing an actual report or another applicant, you will be denied.)

#1 - General report. Report about a topic, informing players about an event or significant issues to Karakura.
AD_4nXfeyw14RKMnQqv9D5JbbrWDuCAYWxPAwYu7u_sSJFiKh2Fhq9Cn0Mbn81tcKvJd8zcKbVjwTEt0_psuYBtEzUFE7WUIsBYgnWL57qjgb-S-MytatuDzAfDf_5SS7HcWy6a32Yr6

Antisocial Community; Karakura’s Issue

It’s not uncommon for new folk to move into Karakura, many people come to visit, tour the city, or even move here permanently. Coming with the new people is a fresh wave of others excited to meet new faces. Although, it appears that most of the locals don’t want to make friends.

I’ve sent out an accomplice, a young man named Ji Ha who recently moved from Korea to Karakura quite recently. I sent this young man out with a question and made him ask it to random people who he’s never seen or people he trusts to answer clearly. This of course, was a test, he was prompted to ask people the following question. ‘What would you say is the biggest issue in karakura currently? Don't say thugs.’

He reported back to me and said Alice Brown, a member of the cheer team, had said that an antisocial community was a huge issue and she explained it as, “The lack of people actually willing to chat now-a-days. They just stick to one spot, one person, and then insult if anyone new comes in." It’s clear that an antisocial community is a problem, but it's definitely on a larger scale than we thought previously.

Ji Ha was then sent out to ask yet another person about their opinion and he was met with the response, “People like you, maybe.” as she arched her eyebrow. This entire response only proves Ms. Alice Brown’s statement more.

The argument that the locals would just like to be left alone is a true statement, at times we all would like to be by ourselves. Although a large combatant to this statement is that if you’re in a public space, it’s in others' rights to ask you anything, at any time, there is a choice on how others answer and they could do it politely, or they could contribute to the issue of Karakura and insult you.

#2 - Interview. It's important to have well-rounded questions. Create your own interview with ten questions or more. And answer them yourself.

[!] The woman would hand over a blue ray DVD. Who even had these anymore? The outside of the case displayed the movie RIO, yes the one with the birds. Once the casing was pulled open, a large crack was heard. The woman sat across from the interviewer and blinked. “Did you just break my case?” She stared intently, sitting up in her chair to access the damage, luckily enough for the interviewer there was none. She rested back down in her seat as the disc was pulled out. There was a white cover on top with careful handwriting in cursive. Obviously nobody can read cursive so it said something along the lines of ‘In..r.vi.w’ unlucky for the interviewer. Once played it showcased a woman in an all pink outfit with a cute trendy bag, she couldn’t be older than 18 right? Wrong! The woman was actually Sylvia, who looked amazingly good. Although the quality was not very good and it looked very high up, the audio was picked up pretty well. The surrounding area around her held one man just looking at her prance around and contained all defining features of the outside of the News building. Was she using their security camera to record? The quality wasn’t good enough to pick up most of the subtle movements by either person. [!]

“Hi! I am Syliva Vallimore, and this is my interview for the Reporter job title!” She did a little twirl. “Today I am here with Tricky Martin and we are going to be doing an interview about how he got into music!”

[Sylvia]:
“What first got you interested in playing music, and how did you choose your main instrument?” There was an audible click from a pen, which was obviously her pen. It was bright pink and sparkling, it was actually quite hard to not see it as it glared at the camera above.

[Tricky]:
The boy took a moment to process this. Pursing his lips, and even tapping a finger on his chin. He began with a, “Well..”

“My childhood was, for a lack of better terms, f*****g s****y. I started listening to rock from as little as I can remember, using it to drown out the sounds of my parents fighting and the other horrible late-night sounds you heard from living in the most run-down city in Ohio. Since I was in America, I listened mostly to English music, with the occasional Spanish too.” He smirks.

“I got keen on rap, so quickly. S**t didn’t have to always sound good, but it could get you in the feels. My main instrument, girl? My voice. Words are powerful, and when you string them into a tone and with some background producing, you get some of the nitty gritty s**t you can only find from the raw source. Samples and whatnot? They’re my entire thing, yeah.”

He figured he better actually answer the question, too. “I started with drums for that reason. Not actual drums, since with both parents hardly working and also living apart, but specifically hitting sticks against trashcans. It made that raw sound I grew so fond of.”

[Sylvia]:
“Do you remember the first song you ever learned or played and if so, how did it make you feel?” Was she really even listening to the guy? She hadn’t even been done writing from the first one, her pen was still scribbling away at the notepad she was carrying.

[Tricky]:
He hit that thinking face again, though this time his bottom lip jutted outwards. Natural underbite? “Creep, by Radiohead. More of that western s**t, but I held it close to my heart. That’s when I learned I loved the emotion in songs, actually. My older brother Porter used to play the guitar. He taught me how to actually hit the trashcans in the way to make it not sound like loud s**t, but like loud art. We played it in my backyard, much to the pain of the neighbours, but it was just us and it was perfect.”

Tricky let that settle in a bit, watching the girl take note of his words, writing them down. A sadness dwelled in his heart, but he sure as hell wouldn’t let her know.

“Now, that song just makes me cry.”

[Sylvia]:
“Are there any musicians or bands that really inspired you to begin playing music?” She pulled a pop-it out of her purse and began to fidget with it. She clearly gave up on writing in her notepad, but since the rest of the interview is all here, it’s clear that she had a good enough memory for it.

[Tricky]:
“I’m about to sound reaaaal American for a sec, aight chica?”

“Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, Busta Rhymes, DMX, 50 Cent.. S**t goes on and on. “Tyler The Creator too, as of lately, but those first names were my f*****g childhood. I also had some classics; Weezer, Blink-182, Green Day, Good Charlotte, Radiohead, Deftones..”

He paused, thinking about what he just said. “God, it’s obvious that I grew up in the west, ain't it? You asked, man..”

[Sylvia]:
She began to eye her nails, the pop-it really brought them out, pink and gold against the solid brick of color that her fidget toy was. “When you play or write music just for fun, what vibe do you often find yourself drifting towards?”

[Tricky]:
“The feels. Almost always, unless you’re writing a diss-track. Those are two VERY different mindsets to hold when writing bars.”

He paused, letting the girl take that in. “I try to write happy s**t, but then I always resort back to my soul and speak my mind. I’d give you an example, but it doesn’t just come from nowhere. You get this train of thought, and it rolls off into a word, then a sentence, and before you know it you’ve made the most lyrically genius phrase you could possibly imagine. Write that s**t down, review it later, give it a couple tweaks and then throw a beat behind it. I’m not always the best with that beat, but when it comes to lyrics I feel it’s an understatement to say I’ve got a gift.”

[Sylvia]:
“Have you ever tried jamming or playing with other people and how was that experience compared to playing alone?” She spoke with a tone in her voice but what was it? Probably boredom.. Or maybe it wasn’t? Who knows! She wasn’t a very readable girl.

[Tricky]:
His expression dropped. Clearly, his experiences in this department were foul. “You can’t just jam with other people. At least I can’t. Music isn’t just an activity, not to me. It’s a practice from the heart, and that’s something you can’t just do with someone else.”

“Want me to be blunt? Blur this s**t out if you have to, but playing music with someone else is on par with romance. You can’t just play with someone. You have to connect with them, relate to them, have that whole soul embodiment and really feel close to them. Else, the s**t you’ll make will sound like straight dogs**t. Music requires a connection to latch on, you have to understand their vibe, their energy, and translate it into sound.”

“Making music with a stranger is fun, but creating music with someone you’ve connected to is just straight-up otherworldly.”

[Sylvia]:
“Hmm.. Okay, so you’d kiss somebody at the same level that you;d make music? Don’t answer that..” The woman laughed to herself lightly as she eyed the young man. Sylvia then cleared her throat and asked her next question. “If you could form a band right now, what kind of music would you want to make?”

[Tricky]:
“B***h, are you serious?” . . . “I’m just playing.”

“Rap, duh. And I want an idol group, not just a band. But, that’s pretty similar. Like I said, I can’t just make music with someone. I gotta be tight, close and s**t.” His hands interlock with each other to further that point. “I got this friend, Ji Ha. He’s someone I could see being in a band with, and he plays drums. I could spit mad bars, and my boy could be the background.”

“If not rap, I’d go for rock. But I’m already putting some Soundcloud a** s**t out there, and that’s all rap, senorita.”

[Sylvia]:
“Dont call me that.. I’ll tell your mother.” She smiled, she was obviously just playing around, she was pretty young, it's clear she didn’t really care. “How do you usually come up with musical ideas, is it by hearing a sound and you just get an idea in your head?”

[Tricky]:
“Yeah, that ‘hearing a sound’ s**t is preeettty spot on.” The boy debated mentioning more. I mean, hey, odds are this interview would be on his record when he was actually famous. Because he KNEW he would be famous, duh. He decided to actually tell the truth, at least most of it. It’s an interview, after all.

He inhaled, “Though. Most of my inspiration comes from when I feel the s*******t. When I’m really down in the dumps, that’s when my best work comes out. It’s raw, and entirely from my inner soul, and it tells a story. Most music sounds good, but the actual good s**t is when it catches you in the feels. So, obviously,” he smirked, “When you’re in the feels yourself, is when the art is truly created.”

“I got other methods, too. Because sometimes, rent is due, and you don’t get the time to let s**t flow naturally.” He chuckled a bit, actually. “Late night drives are the easiest way to find something. From animals in the forest, to random a** guys throwing out trash. If you get a drive like that, the inspo, and you really let it all marinate, you can actually come up with some clever things.” He thought up an example.. “I could make a comment on that hair of yours, and spin it into some wild drive about self expression.”

“Or I could use it to insult ya, in a sicka** rhyme.”

[Sylvia]:
The girl just nodded at him, she clearly didn’t have that much correlation to music, at least not as much as him. Although she was pretty excited to be in the same area as a future pop star.. Right? “Do you have a favorite song to play just for fun, or one that always gets you in the zone?”

[Tricky]:
“Actually, I’ve never thought about this.” His eyes lit up with delight; the consideration of a new technique to get ‘into the groove,’ it was exciting, actually. “Usually I play some rap tracks to help when I need to come up with my own bars. Those artists I mentioned before, actually. But really, I’ve never considered that. I just get an idea, chica, and then I roll with it. You know?”

He winked, crossing his arms with some sorta conceited look on his expression. “I do have favourite songs, though. And surprisingly, they’re not the typical s**t I like to make. When I’m really down in my dumps, I like to listen to sadder songs. Pop, even.”

“Don’t tell anyone, but I got a thing for KPop, too.”

[Sylvia]:
“Thats okay me too.” She smiled as she whispered. He told her not to tell anybody but there it was just above in words. He obviously didn’t know how good the audio was. “What’s a musical skill or technique you’re hoping to improve or learn more about in the future?”

[Tricky]:
He grimaced, painfully. “I can spit bars, but f**k if a boy can produce something to put behind it. I get the idea of it all, but when I actually put the s**t in my brain into a song, it sounds on par with the surgery job used in Human C-” The girl waved her hands at him like he couldn’t say that, he stopped quickly and moved on. “ It works in theory but actually doing it gives horrible results.”

“Oh right, the question.” He awkwardly laughed. “Yeah, I can write lyrics, but making the background to that is something I really oughta figure out soon. Going back on that band idea, actually, I’d be much better as the vocalist than playing the instruments.”

[Sylvia]:
“If you had the chance to perform live, even at a small venue or for friends, what kind of vibe would you want to create?” Sylvia began to chew on her glittery pen, it didn’t burst but it looked like it could at any moment.

[Tricky]:
“The coolest. F*****g. Show. Ever.”

That was not a valid answer, and everyone around knew that. Oops!

“I’d want something to make an impact. My music holds deep meaning, both to me and hopefully to others. I’d hold a venue that actually reflects my words.” He smiled, genuinely. Like sharing this information actually made him feel closer to truly doing it. “Little of the Tricky Martin history, back when I was still Chase and living in America, I used to competitively dance. I Left the scene after moving to Japan when I was 12, but it was still a staple of my history. And God, was I talented at it. I won more times than I can count. I live for the f*****g stage, my friend. Letting go of everything when I can entertain others. That, making other people feel good, is what helps me get through my own rough s**t. That’s how I’d handle a chance to perform, senorita.”

“I’d make an impact, and use my rapping and dancing to bring joy to others. And at the same time, I’d let everything go and really feel myself in it. It’s a vibe, when you’re on a stage. Not sure if you’ve ever felt it before, but that shit is legendary.”

[Sylvia]:

“Hmm.. Okay. Now say bye! Thank you for doing this interview with me!” At the end it was clear Sylvia shoved about 10 Yen in his hands as the two were waving at the camera. Then it clicked off and the interview came to an end.
