Server Whitelist

As much I would love SRP to have a whitelist factor, the only reason it worked for FantasyRP, was because SchoolRP was shown as a way to explore how people roleplayed, and if they liked it, and loved the fantasy aspect they woudl've applied for FantasyRP, SchoolRP doesn't have a server in their hub that is as active as SRP and with that many players, so let's just say your someone who decided to check out SRP, and you see MazeRP, no players online, you check out creative, you'll see some afk people, and then you leave the server since SRP has to be whitelisted and you'll likely forget about it and just go to another RP server

Also, regarding the bypasses, I can assure you, It's not going to help, one really interesting way to know that, is simply because of the discord, to join a school-roleplay discord server you need to have a phone number, and if you do look at bypassers, they most of the time are always able to re-join the discord server through a new number and apply to a faction, making a whitelist won't stop bypassess

As others have said, whitelisting would deter new players, and implementing the change could be challenging. That being said, I agree with the intention and believe that discussion around how to protect younger players and approach complex topics within roleplay is necessary.

absolutely not
besides, i think this would be almost impossible to implement since the server has so many players already

While I don't see this being accepted, I wholeheartedly agree with your points and motive.
Just because something might not be wholey effective in deterring rulebreaking, why shouldn't we aspire to make our community a safer place? There is the concern this would be deterring newer players, but I don't see the issue in the simple aspect if that means the people being deterred are people who are only going to be either hurt by the server, or rulebreakers.

Most similar systems to that suggested in this post have roundabout ways for alternative accounts, and I don't think a whitelist earnestly will be must of a issue for those who care enough to go through a simple questionaire in exhange for the improved safety of the community. Implementation would most definitely be a bumpy road, but I think, ultimately, the precaution of it WOULD be worth it. SRP has never been a community that's ever been gatekeep-y on it's ideals, or roleplay ability, and if a whitelist were to ever be implemented, i anticipate that ideal would entirely be upkept, as an open, safe (safer) community for all levels of writing.

-1 School roleplay is one of the few minecraft roelplay servers that don't need an application, or whitelist to get into. Some of the people who join srp are completely new to roleplay, and schoolrp can be a chance for them to experience it, applying for it would be hard for them. We can also kinda help fix the age problem with a verification/terms of service system like the one in minehut

As much as I understand the reasoning, I really don't think this will be implemented, as one person here said, they have multiple alternate accounts that they use on the server, planning to create more, it'd be a hassle to gain a whitelist for each and every one of them. Not to mention it'd bring down the player base for the server as not many people would want to go through with gaining access through a whitelist, sure it sucks having those trolls and hackers, but those can be easily dealt with WITHOUT a whitelisting process, just ban/punish them, not to mention if they arent perm banned they can learn from their mistakes, and join the community making new friends! (Sorry if this comes off as rambly im a lil eepy, I hope it makes sense!)

Hihi!! You’re completely fine by the way, it’s also really late for me BUT I did address this! It would be a command implemented to link your alt(s) to your main account, no need to whitelist all of them. Thank you for your input though (and, again, same for everyone else)!!!

This ^^^^^

Though it may be difficult for this suggestion to be accepted, rest assured that the idea behind it is supported by most people! There are other ways to keep the community safe and away from ill-intended people without a whitelist, too. And by the looks of it, you aren't the only one who's willing to take time to sit down and think of ways to solve this initial problem.

-1 leniant to neutral.

people wont know the style we need for the app, the detail or anything. i see your focuses and i see the issues you bring however ive known more people come, stay and be here for a long period of time than those that cause issues or troll.
