I am fairly active on the server! I try to get on both my accounts for an hour and/or more a day. I also have a pretty free schedule, so I am available for plenty of events, trainings, etc. The only other committment I have to plan for is College Swim practice, which is only 2 times a week.

What is your motivation for applying?
What is my motivation for applying to shrine? There are a few key points I'd like to note for my reasonings.
One of them, is the community. It's a strong encouragement to me. Ever since I was in government, I'd see how they interact in town chat. I often had a lot of fun speaking to the population. We'd make jokes and silly little bullying. In general chat to the public, everyone seemed supportive of each other's apps. When government opened for positions, shrine told the population to apply! When shrine opened, government would encourage it. Etc. Many of my friends have been in shrine or are still in it. I've heard of faction movie nights, and in ooc I can see allll the shena****ns that come with the lighthearted community. I've always held an interest in shrine because of this. I have not once had a bad experience with the faction, and that I am thankful.
The job itself is also interesting to me! I'll admit, I was worried about the seclusion. It was the one thing that made me hesitant on applying. However, when I understood what the function was behind staying, I felt more comfortable. Ie., how off duty works, etc. Thus, I thought I'd shoot my shot and finally apply for a faction thats been on my mind for years!
Roleplay is a hugeeeeeeeeee motivator for me. This faction feels like a large core to that, and especially some of the functionality on srp. For example, weddings, spirits (sometimes), events, funerals, ceremonies, etc. Most of it is corely detailrp, and I'd love to participate in a more roleplay focused enviornment.
Finally, lore. Shrine has a LOT of lore, and some of it I know rarely about. I want to learn, and hear about the different stories that shrine has to offer. I want to hear the different perspectives of characters. I think it'd be a good way for me to learn lore IC and OOCly at the same time. Especially since I am more engaged when doing things physically, rather than just reading it.
What do you currently know about Shintoism? Are you willing to learn more about it?
I'd love to learn more about Shintoism. I will admit, I do not know much besides some research I've done! Thus, I'd like to learn more from those who do look further into it, and apply this to my own knowledge accordingly. The only thing I am really aware of is what a Kami is, as well as the basis of Shintoism. For reference, Kami is a sacred spirit of some kind, akin to the divine and what not. As for what Shintoism focuses on, I believe it is the peace/balance between spirits and living beings on earth. I notice much with the elemental themese throughout. I also noticed there are rituals, such as Kagura to honour the Kami. The shrine must be pristine, and respected. Bow before the Torii Gates, wash your hands with a hisaku for purification before stepping foot on shrine grounds, etc.

Without yapping your ears off, here is the summary of her life!
Cinder Schneidewind grew up in her birth country of Germany, alongside an older brother (6 years), and later a younger brother (8 years). Her father was a renown doctor and mother a bakery owner. Throughout their life, her father and mother applied academic pressure to the eldest and middle child. They disregarded anything that was not geared towards a future respectable job. She spent her life attempting to please her family, and was often akin to the 'golden child' yet sacrificing her own freedom in return. When she was in highschool, she had discovered her father cheating, so she turned him into the police for various crimes he had committed in his place of work. He was arrested, and subsequently, she graduated. After this, she went to University and followed with medical school. The woman moved to Karakura a few years after, the initial motivation being to reunite with her older brother. Yet.. things would not quite go as planned in this city. Least she has her psychiatrist job intact! Oh wait......

How does your character act around shrine grounds? How do they interact with guests and other staff?
Cinder is incredibly talkative, even winning an award for most sociable in EMS! She never shys away from a conversation or situation, listening to anyone who would like her to lend an ear. She never interrupts, and will make note of things internally, recalling them passionately later. She also enjoys initiating conversation herself. The woman tends to be fairly good at small talk, and finds amusement in learning about the lives of other people. She likes to help the best she can. The female is playful, silly, but respectful. She knows when and where to harden her demeanour. When to be serious. She would never go out of her way to disrespect guests, staff or even the shrine grounds. To put her simply, its really hard to get on her dislike list!
As for regular interaction around shrine, she is one to show her companionship via food! She enjoys cooking, and thus would offer much of this to her coworkers. Especially as a treat for anyone who has used up their off duty hours. Of course, she would be mindful of mess, and ensure a proper table would be found to eat. If she was to ever make or witness a mess, she would help clean it up. It was a job she enjoyed in EMS as well.. despite the terrible liquids.. that it usually was.
No matter the job, you can almost always witness a smile etched upon her confident features.
You see a guest jumping around the roofs of the building and overall disrespecting shrine grounds, how would your character handle it?
Indeed, this is incredibly disrespectful. From Cinder's experience, she would heavily encourage the guest to stop what they are doing. Whether this is climbing on buildings or littering, etc. She'd proceed to explain that shrine members work hard to keep this area sacred, and by committing the act they have done, they are disrespecting the monastery and workers. The woman would follow this up by offering suggestions to make sure it does not happen again. If they continue after a warning, she would tell them to leave.
Why does your character want to become a shrine maiden/priest? What do they wish to achieve?
Why does Cinder want to be a shrine worker? Good question!
One of the first reasons, is for peace of mind. Cinder has been out of a job, and her whole life was planned around being something to society. Working as a shrine member would ease some of that physical stress. Yet, its deeper than this! Cinder is opening her heart to the idea that a different way of living, of perceiving the world, may bring her mental peace. May help alter the remnants of her chaotic upbringing. She is by no means insane or unhindged, but similar to almost everyone, sometimes a mind can become cluttered. She believes this may be a new avenue that she'd like to explore. She has interest, so why not try to help find herself further in this enviornment? Do something her family would have never approved of. Be herself.
Another reason for joining shrine is the knowledge! Ahahah... nerd alert I know. Cinder LOVES learning. Especially about new topics she had never considered prior. For example, religion is something she had never experienced, but was curious of. Shes open to hearing it's functions, and helping teach other who would like to learn as well. She could learn about history as well. Shrine holds a lot of knowledge and stories, like those caves and whatnot. It would be a good talking point among co workers (that of which is allowed to be spoken upon) and she looks forward to that. Not only this, but jobs she may do in Shrine, she can learn from others. Many types of people come to Shrine. KPD, Government, Students, etc. All with different lives, stories and jobs.
One of the final reasons relates to help. She adores helping those around her. With Shrine, much of the job is doing this. Priests do marriages, funerals, etc. Maidens may read tarots or clean. No matter how small something may seem, it is always appreciated. Marriages and Funerals help those bond or grieve in unity, rituals honour the Kami who protects Karakura, tarots tell a story of present. Omikuji's promise fortune, ofuda talismen offer blessings and safety. All of this is something Cinder would like to do. She yearns to aid where she can, and give back to the world.
She seeks the best for whatever establishment she works within. She will work hard to ensure that the experience is pleasant and people want to return. She is willing to put her all into it.
What are the core values of your character?
Compassion: Aside from her psychology degree, Cinder has heart. she is sympathetic, but logical. She often notices the emotions of others, and enjoys being the comfort that some may need. She also knows when to not push, and allows the person to come out in their own time. She likes putting her all into everything she does, which includes doing things out of the passion that lingers in her heart. She may not outright say it often, but she appreciates those who stick by her.
Diligence: Cinder is a hard worker, and dedicates her time to pursuing things with her complete effort. Akin to her medical degree. She focused solely on it, ensuring that she could use this knowledge in the future for good, to help those around her. She will always work towards doing her best, no matter the circumstance.
Honesty & Sincerity: She doesn't shy away from honesty. She has never enjoyed lying, and thus keeps to the path of truth. She will acknowledge truth, and share it with anyone. If you have done wrong, she will tell you. Regardless of who you are. RIP Toma Tadic. When she speaks, there is an air of sincerity. She is genuine by most means, and continues to chase who she is no matter the opinion.
Cleanliness & Respect: The woman is not one to enjoy leaving a mess, so she takes care of herself and others. She loves to respect the earth around her, and admire it's beauty. In doing so, it's important to keep everything clean. In addition, a layer of cleanliness offers a display of respect. She is aware of personal boundaries, customs and how one should address another living being. She prefers to lead with the thought of another person, rather than rushing into a situation that may cause discomfort or disrespect. Once more, disrespect is not only for people, but the world. Nature is important to her, and thus she tries her best to not be a cause of negative impact. After all, it is whats keeping them alive!
