Describe your activity on the server:
I was on pretty much 24/7 between ~2021 and 2024, during which I racked up probably around 30 weeks of playtime across all my accounts. My activity dwindled quite a bit for a year or two for mostly OOC reasons, and now I'm getting back into the server since both my passion and free time are making a resurgence. Within the last couple weeks I've been much more active as I’ve been playing on a new character and generally have had a bit more time, and by the end of the month I’ll have even more time since I’ll be freed from a pretty significant IRL time sink. I currently have time to play at least a couple hours daily, but my time will be practically unlimited in a couple weeks, and I’m planning on spending a good chunk of my newly acquired free time on the server. I’ve been having fun interacting with people again, and I feel that a great way to ease back into roleplay would be a faction where I get to interact with the majority of the server’s playerbase, both old and new.
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?:
Yes, I am aware. I rarely need to be away for significant amounts of time, but if I do, I always make sure to inform the relevant faction leads.

In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:
The job of a school nurse is to treat any injuries that may happen on school grounds. Most of the time this might be bruises from kids falling over or a black eye as a result of a fight, but a school nurse is equipped to handle pretty much anything. Even if the injury only requires a single band-aid and a store-brand lollipop, a skilled nurse will be doing much more than one might even notice. Comforting the student, making sure they’re safe and that they can go on with their school day with peace of mind are parts of the job just as important as the treatment itself.
At times there may be incidents that require more medical attention than the nurse’s office is able to provide. Broken bones and more serious injuries will of course be treated by the nurse, but EMS may be needed to properly evaluate the injury and to make sure that the student gets the best treatment possible. This, of course, falls into the responsibilities of the nurse - Evaluating when EMS may be necessary and contacting both the emergency line as well as the student’s guardians to make sure that all relevant parties are informed of the situation.
Of course, as is the job of all employees at the school, nurses also hold the responsibility of keeping the school an overall safe and pleasant environment for all students and faculty alike. Having an injury isn’t a requirement to be able to get guidance or even just someone to talk to, should any student need it.
What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:
I was very active on SRP between 2021 and ~2024, during which I interacted with more people than I can even count at this point, and participated in several different parts of the server. I remember actively roleplaying with a group of friends I’d made on the server, attending college exams together, joining gangs and getting into fights, among other standard student activities. The first role I ever applied for was caretaker, and later on I would also give a go at the Professor faction. I’d say I’ve gained a decent variety of roleplay experience in these factions as well as the casual roleplay I’d do with friends and people I’ve met through them. I was part of the journalism club for a decent chunk of time, during which I got a taste of jockRP (which was actually just combatRP in a trenchcoat) by proxy of having friends in the teams. I’ve kind of feared I’d lost all my ability to roleplay during my year-or-two semi-hiatus, but after just a couple weeks of getting back into RP it’s like I never even stopped.
Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:
I’ve been in the faction before as a caretaker, several years ago, and I found it enjoyable and a great way to find new people to interact with. Both in my time in factions and as a student, I’ve noticed newer players have a tendency to turn to faculty members for help, even if the help they need is not RP related. I like being able to guide new players both in RP and in other server-related inquiries, and I believe that being a faculty member would make me a bit more approachable to new players than my current PHD tag. The faction’s quota is also relatively low-pressure, which is a good choice for me given that I’m trying to ease back into the server without taking on an insane workload. I remember having no trouble completing my quota back when I was a caretaker while also having other responsibilities at the same time, so solely concentrating on an employee role should be a piece of cake for me. I'm also interested in trying out a different employee role than caretaker, since it seems to me that each role in the faction carries it's own unique responsibilities.

During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:
The part about being pathetic? In one ear and out the other. Cursing? On school grounds? Not so much. Hae-il is quick to point out that repeated usage of foul language is a punishable offense. Now, depending on the student’s demeanor, Hae-il’s tone of voice might differ a bit. There are times when students vent out their frustrations to unrelated parties, and boy does he have first-hand experience with this from his own days as a youngster. Any student hurling insults just for the love of the game is getting a no-nonsense warning to stop, lest they’re interested in spending their after school free time reflecting on their actions. But someone who’s clearly having a terrible day and maybe not dealing with it in the best way? Perhaps they’re already expecting the stern warning, so instead Hae-il might concentrate on de-escalating the situation and perhaps lending an ear to figure out the underlying cause for their behavior.
You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:
First and foremost Hae-il is putting himself smack dab in the middle of the situation in whichever way will keep the two students off of each other. Regardless of how much of a handle he has on the situation, he’s quickly calling for assistance over the radio, just as a precaution. Hae-il is sure to make it clearly known that if the two make even the slightest attempt to keep going at each other, they’ll both be spending their after-school time scrubbing between the bathroom floor tiles with a toothbrush in the supervision of yours truly. Now, both students are most likely in need of a trip to the nurse’s office, so after the situation has sufficiently calmed down, Hae-il is quick to escort his new patients down to the office for a patching up, a couple of ice packs, and each with their very own detention slip.
Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:
Hae-il wastes no time in telling the employee to get a grip and stop whatever they’re doing. He would matter-of-factly explain to the employee how they’re behaving and how it’s absolutely insane to be acting that way at work, just in case they somehow hadn’t realised how much of a fool they’re being. Depending on the employee’s reaction, Hae-il might try to de-escalate the situation, since preventing anything dangerous from happening is more important in the moment than trying to lecture them. If he’s able to, Hae-il will gather photo or video evidence of the incident for the report he’s absolutely making to SLT as soon as he manages to defuse the situation.
When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
Is the coffee free? Because Hae-il would be breaking world records with his caffeine consumption. His excuse is that as a nurse, he’s fully aware of how much coffee he can safely put into his body before he croaks for good, but it might be more of a cope than anything. He might curtly nod at any coworkers that glance his way, but chatting has never been his strong suit, nor a particularly interesting pastime for him. He’ll definitely be hogging at least one or two seats whenever possible, given that he’s on his feet most of the time in the nurse’s office. Perhaps it’s the hectic nature of his job that leads Hae-il to seek calm and quiet in the break room, but at least any like-minded coworkers can also relax in his presence without the threat of small talk. He can only hope that none of the more talkative employees take offense to his lack of finesse in social situations.

/me paced around the office, since standing still tended to make the soles of his feet ache irritatingly. He’d already checked his equipment, refilled any half-empty shelves, sorted the band-aids first by color, then by size, then by type… The day hadn’t been terribly eventful so far. Hae-il decided that it couldn’t hurt to sweep the floor for a third time, just in case a kid with the world’s worst dust allergy suddenly needs medical attention. He’d hear some commotion outside, but it would pass, as per usual. Must be the football team announcing their presence for the fifth time that day. Oh well. He really shouldn’t complain, given how much he’s usually running around school performing who-knows-what kinds of first aid.
/me rushed to the student’s side, checking for any evidence of blood or anything else that may be cause for concern. They didn’t appear to be knocked out, but not entirely aware either - eyes almost falling closed and nonsensical mutters falling off their lips. Hae-il clicks his pen light on, aiming it at one eye of the student. Normal pupil constriction, thankfully. He gently asks the student if they know where they are as he unpacks some bandage and disinfectant from the medkit he’d hastily grabbed on his way out. He wipes the blood and dirt off of the student’s forehead, preparing a piece of bandage and taping it neatly over the wound. While the blood is just the result of a surface-level scratch, he can already see the bump forming on the point of impact, knowing that he’ll probably be keeping this kid at the office for the rest of the day with plenty of ice packs.
/me let his eyes switch between the two students, both practically talking over each other as they attempted to explain themselves out of the situation. Arms crossed, Hae-il slowly lifted a single hand, waiting for the commotion to quiet down. He simply gestured for one of the students to speak first - given that they both were sporting pretty impressive black eyes, it was imperative that Hae-il heard both sides of the story as accurately as possible. Since the students had already been banished to opposite sides of the nurse’s office, and another employee had been stationed near the door as a precaution, Hae-il felt it would be safe to briefly turn his back to dig out some ice packs for his patients. As he took in each student’s story, he gently inspected both their injuries and patched them up accordingly, making sure to take note of every detail pertaining to the situation.

Backstory
Somewhere, in an out-of-the-way town in rural Korea, a child was born. This child would not be known by any name until much later - only after he’d learned to speak and ask for a name of his own. Hae-il was quiet simply due to the fact that speaking rarely resulted in anybody answering. It was almost a miracle that the boy even discovered the concept of spoken language given that his parents didn’t seem to find it particularly important to teach the poor boy.
Hae-il rarely attended school. The rural town he grew up in could be more accurately called a village, or perhaps a “patch of houses just at the edge of a small town”, if you wanted to get descriptive. There was a school, but it was quite far for a small boy to walk. Instead, Hae-il spent his days exploring the edge of the nearby woods, building rudimentary traps for small animals, and discovering the editability of the local plant life.
His lack of education was starting to catch up to him in his teenage years. Heck, Hae-il may never have learned how to read had a local elderly woman not practically forced the boy into books after he’d wandered too deep into town one day. Becoming literate at the measly age of twelve could not have been doing any favors to the poor boy’s development, but you could not call him unintelligent. Despite still technically living at home with his parents, Hae-il spent enough time on the streets to have developed an impressive set of survival skills, and while he may not have been terribly educated, he made up for it with the level of street-smarts he’d built up instead.
Of course, all good things must come to an end. In this case that was the day when freshly seventeen-year-old Hae-il decided he’d had enough, stole his father’s run down Harley-Davidson, and drove as far South as a single tank of gas would take him. This stunt ended up landing him at a port in Busan, where he made the decision to board himself and his newly acquired motorcycle onto a ferry to Japan, and never look back.

Being broke and homeless isn’t easy no matter where you’re at. Turns out that gas costs money, and so does housing, which left Hae-il spending most of his nights between dumpsters and under bridges as long as the weather allowed for it. Well, it’s not like he could do much else even if the weather wasn’t agreeable, but he did try to camp out at any decently roofed public area for as long as he could.
He did eventually try his hand at a variety of money-making methods, including volunteering, doing odd jobs, and downright begging. It was barely enough to at least keep him alive, if not a little malnourished. His main issue was that getting any sort of job without even a primary school diploma was a pipe dream, and there was little chance he’d be able to even attempt to receive one without dishing out the kind of money he absolutely didn’t have.
Hae-il stuck to smaller towns, since it seemed that the elderly residents tended to take pity on him more often than the constantly busy locals of larger cities. This eventually landed him at a local ramen shop, under the supervision of a hunchbacked old woman who promised to pay for Hae-il’s school certifications, provided he’d made up for the cost with his labor. It should be noted that it took several weeks of working at the shop for Hae-il to even make a peep about needing any type of financial assistance, since he’d rather carve pennies out of asphalt than genuinely ask someone for help.

With a high school certificate under his belt and a little bit of cash in hand, Hae-il decided that it was time for him to settle down. This meant finding someplace where he wouldn’t need to constantly be on the move, or at least a place quiet enough that he could safely camp out in one spot for an extended period of time. Some randomly taken exits on the highway ended up taking him on a direct route to Karakura, a relatively small, out-of-the-way city in the middle of an island of the same name.
| Karakura was an interesting city. People generally didn’t bother him, nor did they seem to pay much mind to him finding refuge in the nearby woods or rummaging through trash cans. As a matter of fact, he often found others engaging in similar activities, occasionally stumbling upon what could only be described as a gang of kids huddling together in a broken in rental cabin. It seemed that he’d found his people. Getting enrolled at the community college at the heart of the city wasn’t nearly as big of a hurdle as Hae-il had initially assumed. While furthering his education wasn’t at the top of his priority list, the school, at the very least, offered him some decent shelter for a major chunk of the day. The “getting educated” part ended up happening mostly by accident. Turns out that living on the streets and relying on your intuition makes you more susceptible to sucking up new information like a sponge. [Present day]Two degrees and a PhD later, Hae-il could finally say that he’d achieved some level of success in life. Not only had he reached a higher education than either of his parents, but the acquaintances he’d made during his time in college ended up landing him a decent place to stay for the time being. The thought of leaving Karakura in search of a job didn’t seem terribly appealing, so Hae-il set his sights on opportunities within the city. These opportunities were sparse at best, but one specific listing caught his eye - an employee at the school he’d spent the majority of his time in during the last five years. The position of a school nurse seemed like the obvious option given his interest in the human psyche. With nothing to lose, Hae-il put his all into catching this new opportunity, putting his faith into all he'd learned during the turbulent times he'd pushed through throughout his life. |

I’ve spent enough time at this school to know it like the back of my hand. Now that I’m done with my education, simply staying with the school as an employee seems as natural as breathing to me. I’m not going to pretend that the financial aspect isn’t part of my reason for applying, but my decision to aim for a position at Karakura High isn’t purely motivated by salary. Knowing that I possess the skill-set to help the students of the school has for a long time made me feel that I almost have a responsibility to put those skills to use. Additionally, while my interactions with the school's faculty haven't been too plentiful during my time as a student, I've been fascinated by the relatively chill atmosphere the workers seem to possess among one another. It's the type of supportive environment I personally haven't been able to experience at any point of my life, really, and I can't act like that doesn't push me into wanting to experience it myself.
Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
Frankly speaking, I would consider myself highly qualified for the position. I didn’t have the smoothest of upbringings, and in my time studying at the school, I could see that the same applies to many of Karakura High’s students as well. What I bring to the table is an unique expertise in knowing how to handle situations that many may have no experience in, as well as an ability to genuinely empathize with the experiences of many of these students. While my prior experience in the field is limited, I have a demonstrable ability to adapt to any type of situation without breaking a sweat. It should also be noted that the position of school nurse can often be a high-pressure environment, which I have built up quite the resistance to in my younger years. Making sure that the students are taken care of while also being able to retain my own sanity is certainly an important skill to possess when aiming to have a long career in the position.
