Describe your activity on the server:

My first ever time joining SRP was around the Spring of 2018, I was unfamiliar with the server at first but I found myself enjoying it once I understood how things worked and how the roleplay on SRP worked. I was active for a while after this point, I’m unsure for how long, but at the end of it, I ended up moving on from SchoolRP onto other hobbies.

I rejoined the server with a friend in the summer of 2022 and found my love for roleplay again. I spent some time on SRP, taking part in GangRP for the first time until I left once more in August once school started up again.

Now, I rejoined once more in January of 2023 and have been active on the server since! In the 6-7 months that I’ve been back on the server, I’ve managed to take part in FamilyRP, GangRP, etc. and I’ve done so much more than I ever did in the past years that I had been playing on SRP. As for my daily/weekly activity, I can easily spend multiple hours on SRP with occasional breaks taking place whenever. I am currently on my summer break, so I have a lot more time on my hands than I did during the previous school year. But, I am still a student and need to allocate time to studying.

Which timezone are you in?

EEST
(Eastern European Summer Time)

List your current and past IC/OOC faction applications:

EMS Doctor Application [ACCEPTED]
Receptionist Application (I asked for it to be removed)
Maths Teacher Application (I asked for it to be removed)
KPD Application [DENIED]

What is your motivation for applying?:

I’m a current member of EMS and the hospital faction, and have been for quite a few months now and it has allowed me to get a glimpse into the work of police officers and the KPD in general, which piqued my interest. I’ve been interested in joining the KPD in the past, but losing interest as I joined EMS in March. I attempted to join KPD before, but ended up removing my application due to issues with attributes and accounts. Now that I have a third account (toxigenic), I’m applying again!

CombatRP is also something that I’m a big fan of, and I quite like doing it, especially P2L fights. I simply don’t like the GangRP that’s usually associated with it, which is why I haven’t gotten many opportunities to do it outside of spars with my characters’ siblings or friends. I’m hoping that in KPD I could get more chances of doing CombatRP without needing to do the actual GangRP.

What knowledge do you have of Police Work?

The obligations and the duties Police Officers have are quite broad, Police Officers go through rigorous training in order to be able to complete all of their duties, and do so properly. Officers are expected to be able to protect people, their property and themselves, through either aggressive means or non-aggressive means. Pretty much just whichever means necessary. Police Officers, just like any other government workers, have strict guidelines they need to abide by, with the punishments for the ones that don’t follow them ranging all the way from losing their job to being put on trial for a misconduct, or another charge.

Officers are provided with lots of different equipment to keep themselves and citizens safe on the job, this equipment ranging all the way from something as simple as a Police Radio all the way to a Glock-17, which is reserved for higher-ups only. Police, depending on their rank, of course, also get access to Police Cruisers or Bikes, to get around the city easily when going on calls or when simply patrolling, a pair of handcuffs to restrict the movement of someone under arrest and an X26 Taser, which launches volts of electricity through someone’s body in order to stun them. Of course, there is more equipment than just the ones I’ve listed.

Police also have the job of gathering evidence, and in simple terms, “putting two and two together” and figuring out what really happened during a crime and who is, and shall be held responsible for it. The investigation part of police work is usually left to the Detectives, who get trained on multitudes of different interrogation techniques, and other things on top of their base Officer training. (Which is usually added on after an officer has been in the force for long enough.)

That being said, the KPD is divided into two sections; the Main division and the Detective division.

Everyone, upon joining KPD starts off in the Main division as a Cadet, working their way up the ladder within the Main division. At some point, they may be offered a spot in the Detective division, as a Detective Constable, that being the lowest rank within the Detectives. A Detective Constable, (shortened DC) is a Detective whomst is still in the process of being trained to become a fully-fledged Detective. After they’ve passed their exams, they become a Detective Inspector, continuing to work their way up the ladder afterward.

Same goes for Cadets, but Cadets have a lot less freedom than DCs. They aren’t allowed to leave the station nor go off-duty until they’ve finished their training and become Patrol Officers.

As for KPD Higher-ups, there are quite a few positions that hold this title. These positions include, Lieutenant, Detective Chief Inspector, Detective Superintendant, Captain and Commissioner.
Police may also need to testify in court, and they also have the obligation of standing watch during trials, within the courtroom and outside of the courtroom, by the metal detector at the Town Hall. During any, and all large events within Karakura, especially ones involving Government officials such as the Mayor or Governors, KPD are obligated to stand watch and make sure everything goes accordingly. Another duty that an officer may have, but is usually left to the Cadets to tend to is checking CCTV. The town of Karakura could be labelled as a “surveillance town”, with CCTV surrounding each nook and cranny of the Japanese town. KPD also has the duty and obligation to check these ever so often.

Why is Police important to SchoolRP?

SchoolRP isn’t a very accurate name for the server, at least if you’re someone who knows nothing about it. It’s more of a city roleplay setting, and has a school within it. Since it is more of a city roleplay, Police is an incredibly important and imperative aspect of each city, and each society.

There are rules and laws in each city, as is in Karakura. Of course, the town needs someone to keep citizens in check, and make sure that everyone is following all the laws necessary. The Governors and the Mayor of Karakura don’t, and shouldn’t need to do this job, which is where the Police come in. Since SchoolRP as a whole has a very high presence of GangRP and CrimeRP in general, it’s important that the KPD and otherwise just the Police are there to balance it out. If there is no police, there is no risk with GangRP and the town of Karakura would most likely fall into chaos with the crime rate that it has. Karakura also has its own Black Market, which the KPD also helps to balance out.

Like I mentioned earlier, the KPD is just one part of the town as a whole, and it helps to add a sense of realism to the server. SchoolRP is meant to be as realistic as possible, and the KPD, same as with the Hospital and Government factions, helps make it that. The police in Karakura are just one piece of the puzzle, and the town of Karakura wouldn’t be the same without them.

Do you acknowledge that you're subject to being demoted if accepted at any given time?

Yes, I acknowledge this.

Do you acknowledge that by applying for this role, you are agreeing to be 100% dedicated to the Police Officer role?

I acknowledge this, and I agree.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?

Yes, I do.

In-Character (IC) Section

SECTION 1: CHARACTER INFORMATION

Character's Full Name:

Silas Iwamoto
(His legal name is Seishiro Iwamoto, he uses the name Silas in social situations.)

Character's age (if accepted):

32

Character's gender & pronouns:

Silas is male, and goes by he/him pronouns.

Character's Academic Background
(Grade-12/Bachelors/Masters/PhD):

Master’s Degree in Pedagogy

What languages are you proficient in besides Japanese?

“English and JSL.”
(I'll apply for JSL later)

Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?

Silas Iwamoto is a Japanese-American male, standing at the height of 5’11’’. His hair is quite long, having reached all the way down to his hips at one point. In professional situations, he always keeps his hair up in one way or another, but prefers to keep it down whenever he isn’t on the job. His hair is black, his natural colour and he doesn’t exactly bother to dye it in any shape or form, nor has he in the past. His expressions are almost always neutral, he isn’t one to be very emotive or expressive, when it comes to his body language and facial expressions, at least. Silas has quite the abundance of tattoos, all of which he got in the years between him coming to Karakura for the first time, and his return to the town. As for piercings? No. He’ll allow a tattooing needle near his skin, but he will not allow someone to pierce through his flesh just to add some jewellery. It freaks him out, to say the least.

A thing that he quite enjoys doing is singing, at least to himself. He doesn’t do it because he’s good at it, or to show off. He simply enjoys the “calm”, (if you can call it that) sense of listening to a nostalgic song and singing along to it as you’re getting some of your household chores done. If you catch him doing the dishes at his home, for example, you’ll definitely hear him hum along to a tune that’s stuck in his head.

How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?

Silas seems to contradict the descriptions of himself that he makes quite often. He claims to be an extrovert, but then he sits in a corner huddled up with his phone instead of socialising or speaking to people. He claims to be outgoing, and the past statement already contradicts that, as well. He’s trying his best, don’t get him wrong. He’s just a little shy, is all. This fact can be seen in both professional and casual situations.

In professional situations, since he has to deal with sensitive topics and serious situations which can affect people’s lives and their livelihoods, he keeps a serious face on at all times. He doesn’t mess around when it’s got to do with people making reports, he leaves the messing around for the break room.

He’s a completely different person in casual situations, it’s almost like a switch has been flicked the moment he leaves the station, or the moment he speaks to a friend of his.

What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?

He likes it. He’s open to the idea of having co-workers, and doing work as a team. After some past experiences, he doesn’t trust himself to be able to do some things on his own, which is why he prefers there to be others to help him out in situations. When it comes to the more stressful aspects of being an officer, those are the situations that he’d rather go through as a group, and not be alone.

When it comes to other tasks, such as desk work or something as simple as paperwork; he’ll gladly do that by himself. Most of the time, even preferring to do some of the more simple tasks all by himself.

Do you see yourself as a leader or a follower? Why?

“A follower. I’m not going to go around it with my words, I’m not going to pretend I’m a leader. I’m just going to be straightforward, and get to the point, I find myself to be a follower. The reason is very simple, I don’t trust myself enough to see myself being able to be a leader. Of course, this fact can change in the future, but for now… I’m a follower. Through and through.”

BACKSTORY (100+ words)

(1083 words, 5913 characters)

“It might seem random, and I’ll admit, it is incredibly random for someone like me, an American with a Pedagogy degree to end up in a place like Karakura and to be applying for a position as an Officer… Let me explain, yeah?"

Seishiro Iwamoto, known to most as Silas Iwamoto was born on the 19th of June 1990 at 11:30 PM. He was born in the Sibley Memorial Hospital, in Washington D.C. - the city where he grew up, as well.

His father was a Japanese immigrant, his mother was an American; he never found out about his mother’s heritage, she didn’t exactly speak about it all too much, all he ever knew was that she was adopted in her childhood. When Silas was born, his parents wanted to give him two separate names. One, as a homage to his father’s Japanese heritage and culture, “Seishiro” and the other for him to use in his everyday life and social situations; “Silas”. His legal name was, and still is Seishiro.

Silas, unfortunately, suffered, and still suffers from quite many health problems, those beginning at his birth. He was in and out of the hospital, going from doctor to doctor for all of the different ailments that came up for him during his younger years. His medical issues back in the United States racked up to quite the hefty amount, to say the least. All of these problems also stunted his social development and social growth, since he was forced to skip out on so much of his time in school due to all of his hospital visits. He didn’t have any siblings for the longest time, either, so his only social connections were his parents, and his other family members; whenever they visited.

The boy was an extrovert, he absolutely loved being around people and this fact disheartened him, a lot. He felt sad whenever he went back to school after another extended sick leave, and he realised that everyone had their friends but nobody knew anything about him or socialised with him. And honestly, he didn’t know how to make friends either; causing him to sit at the edge of the playground, or simply to sit by the doors to the school during recess - thinking by himself.

When he wasn’t thinking by himself, he was speaking to the employees within his school. He was chatting to the janitors, to the teenaged teacher’s assistants, sometimes even to the other teachers that were supervising the recess. Young Silas thought their work was so cool, something he wanted to do when he grew up, and this motivation didn’t go anywhere. The employees even helped him make some friends within his school, helping the boy to come out of his shell and to be more social. Even to this day, he’s grateful to them, even if he isn’t able to tell them himself. His childhood experiences caused him to pursue a career within the school himself, as a teacher or in another role. Throughout the years, his health issues and his hospital visits started becoming less and less frequent, Silas actually felt like he could live his life normally at this point. Of course, he still had to go to the Doctor’s office immediately if he got something as menial as the flu, but overall he started feeling better as the years passed.

. . .

Around a decade later, Silas had gotten his diploma from High School and was ready to start the next chapter of his life. Unfortunately, during his first try, he didn’t get accepted into any programs he applied for, and honestly; he didn’t even know what he was going to study. Both of these factors made him decide to take a gap year, working for that year instead. He got a job working as a teacher’s aide at a middle school, this year helped him decide what he wanted to study and what he wanted to do for work in the future. The year went by as quickly as it came and he enrolled into College, into a Pedagogy program and moved away from home for the first time.

Years went by, he was now 25 and an official College graduate with a Master’s degree in Pedagogy. He wasn’t sure on what he was going to do now - so he decided to move away from home again, moving to his father’s home country; Japan. He got a job working as a receptionist for a University, which not only helped him in improving his Japanese, but also gave him experience within that field.

He arrived in the town of Karakura, unfortunately unable to land the job that he was seeking. He obviously couldn’t go back to his old job, he had already slammed the letter of resignation onto his supervisor’s desk. Silas was too embarrassed to go back to the States’ empty-handed, and without a job. A 26-year old Silas sat for long hours in his apartment, trying to figure out a solution for himself.

This was where he got the idea of joining the military. I mean, what did he have to lose? His life, obviously, but… What’s the worst that could happen?

And that was where Mr. Iwamoto became Recruit Iwamoto. He was surprised to have gotten a letter back from the Japanese Military, knowing his past health issues. Even though it was most likely illegal, he kept his issues, and his medical records to himself.

And the military didn’t prove to be such a bad place for him, either! Through all of the injuries he sustained, including a broken wrist due to tripping and falling down a hill and ending up with a broken nose due to a fellow soldier accidentally whacking him in the face, he found his time in the military quite enjoyable.

This was, of course, until he eventually left. He spent six years enlisted in the military before he decided to resign and leave. He didn’t want to go back to working a desk job at a school, even though he had quite literally studied for it, but he didn’t want to go back to the rough environment the military brought with it… He decided to go for a middle ground, the Police Department. Silas was still quite young, he felt he had the time available to him to pursue a brand new career.

He made his return to Karakura after so many years, this time… He was looking to become a Police Officer.

SECTION 2: GENERAL KNOWLEDGE

Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?

In the most simple terms possible, you cannot.
Of course, you can own one - it just won’t be legal. The only weapon that a citizen can legally own in Karakura is a metal bat, although that is limited only to people who do not have a felony on their record.

Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription

Iron Supplements, Multivitamins, Melatonin, Paracetamol and Cough Syrup.

If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?

Even though inmates are criminals, they’re still humans and should be treated as such. This is the belief that Silas holds, and stands by it. If he witnessed this happening, he would start off by turning his body camera on, gathering evidence at this stage, when the situation was still going on is key. He would spring into action, even putting himself in between the inmate and his co-worker, if necessary. He would do whatever he needed in order to spare his co-worker’s dignity, and to spare the station from a possible lawsuit.

After he had managed to get his co-worker off of said inmate, he’d go ahead and check the inmate’s wounds, if they were severe enough, he would proceed to escorting the inmate to the medical bay and calling EMS over through his radio.

After the initial situation had been resolved, he would keep a close eye on the specific co-worker and make sure to speak to a higher-up about the situation, handing over any evidence that he had gathered of the initial event.

What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?

He would assess the situation, first and foremost. No matter how much he’d want to protect his fellow officer, he’s still human and he has his limits. One man with a taser cannot do much against a horde of ten criminals. No matter how many criminals the co-worker is being assaulted by, he would instantly call for back-up. Bodycam on, all that jazz.

He would do his best to de-escalate the situation, but depending on the amount of people he’s up against and how they’re equipped - he would either wait for back-up, or jump in between the assailant and his co-worker.

After the situation was resolved, he would bring his co-worker to the hospital to get checked out, depending on his own level of injury, as well, of course.

What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?

Silas would be shocked. Enraged, even. How could someone that has vowed themselves to protect the law, go against it? He would gather any and all evidence that he could. Bodycam footage of the co-worker taking bribes, CCTV footage, maybe.

He would then contact a higher-up, keeping his findings to himself up until the point he gets a hold of one. This would definitely raise his anxiety levels, considering that one of his co-workers was working with the “enemy”, if you can call criminals and cops that.

Once he got a hold of a higher-up within the department, he’d share his findings and evidence of this with them and explain the situation as thoroughly as he could.

How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?

Silas would give them the meanest side-eye once he realised what it was that they were doing. Honestly, he most likely wouldn’t be able to believe his senses, and whatever it was that he was hearing or seeing. Someone was seriously trying to get a pass from whatever it was that they were in trouble for, with something as sad as attempting bribes.

“Seriously? Do better next time.”

He’d pull out his notepad with a sigh as he wrote them a fine for bribery.

DENIED
After having carefully reviewed your applications, the higher-up team
has decided to unfortunately deny your application to join our faction.

We appreciate your efforts and your motivation to join our faction, but
we have made this decision based on the following reason(s)

COMPETENCE
-
Due to the vast amount of applicants that try their best to get into the
faction, we sometimes have to deny good applicants because there are
others that have been deemed as better choices, whether it's due to
server reputation or due to the detail that was put to their application.

DETAIL
-
Although we don't deny your will to join the faction, detail is a great
way to show off your interest. Therefore, we recommend spending more
time to try and re-elaborate your application so that it shows off you're
truly engaged in trying to join us!

REPUTATION
- A decisive factor that influences our decision is server reputation. We tend
to pick players who have been in the server for a while, and that have a
relatively clean history. We suggest applying for other factions / community
teams to improve how other players see you and boost your chances at
becoming part of our faction!

ADDITIONAL NOTES
If you need further assistance, you can privately message
me (@Yonio) or any other available Admin+ via Discord
so that we can solve any other inquiries you may have
