What are your current roles on the server? (If you're college, specify your degree level):
Currently on my main;
Grade 12 Volleyball - Rinari Jaibatsume
College B - Neon Hayasaka
Adult - Ga-yoon Jaibatsume
However, on my alt account I only have Grade-9 as I did not grind it yet.
Describe your activity and roleplay experience on the server:
I joined the server around 3 years ago. I quickly found myself comfortable here. Then I applied for the student council and got in. This decision changed everything, as I started to gain more experience with the time, I met many people and learned how to roleplay properly. I’ve been there for a long while before unfortunately stuff happened. I chose to rejoin it later but it wasn’t the same anymore as our original lead and higher-ups left.
I joined a journalism club where I quickly got promoted to junior and then senior journalist, I was a co-lead of the school radio aka Journalism FM. During that time I think I had my peak experience on SRP as I met many interesting people to roleplay with, and I spent LOTS of the time online.
I also joined a shrine monastery, and I honestly liked it very much. But lack of the roleplay as it depended if anyone showed up at the shrine was discouraging. Due to that and some other factors such as club changes, shotengai incident, I chose to prioritise my own mental health and step down from the shrine and stop playing on SRP.
Now I am back. I wanted to come back a long while ago but I couldn’t find motivation, as most of the people I roleplayed with, were no longer here, or if they were, they would play new characters. I tried applying for a shop and then EMS and unfortunately didn’t get in.
Instead, I joined HS Female Volleyball team after my friend’s encouragement, and I am pretty much enjoying peace in it, but;
I am fascinated by medicine which was the main factor of me wanting to join EMS however I realised that I could TEACH medicine. And honestly this idea seems even more exciting than EMS. Which is why I am applying for Professor.
So, for the main question;
I am active. I’d rate it 8/10. I have lots of the free time I could dedicate to the faction as the volleyball team doesn’t take much of it.
My playtime is; 30w 5d 7h 13m 43s
In your own words, why do you think professors are important to SchoolRP?
Honestly, it's like asking why School is important to SchoolRP. The answer is obvious! But I'll explain it regardless.
There is a progression system on the server that rewards you for doing homeworks, by eventually giving you a College tag. And you didn't join it to have exactly the same experience, right? Professors are very important because their job is to make people actually want a college tag. Without them? What is the point of progressing? Exactly. College was always considered to be a level-up, something you want to eventually reach, and without professors working, who will bother collecting homeworks to even graduate further to masters?
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive, you may face demotion or removal from the faction?
I consider myself to be mature enough to step down if I find myself inactive to prevent gatekeeping other players from experiencing faction. It’s what I did with the shrine, it’s what I would do again if it was about to happen, which I don’t think it will anytime soon.
Do you understand if your application is accepted, you may have to undergo professor training?
This makes no issue for me at all. I am happy to attend any training that deems necessary.
In-Character Information
What's your character's full name?
Ga-yoon Jaibatsume
Age (Minimum is 27):
34
Nationality:
Korean
Preferred Subject:
Medical Science (But I am able to temporarily teach Psychology and Computer Science, though for the long term, I want to stick with Medical Science)
Describe the character: How do they look and act? What makes them unique and different? What are their plans for the future? Optionally, what is their past?
Ga-yoon is the true definition of beauty, or at least this is what she would say about herself. She has a composed and delicate appearance. Her blonde hair is long and really taken care of. Her style is really simple, despite Ga-yoon adoring her own look, she doesn't like having too many outfits, she usually has just a few. Ga-yoon appears to be calm, detached and cold, despite her relatively warm expression. She's distant and her face barely betrays any emotions.

She finished bachelor in Psychology from Karakura College; MD from the University of Tokyo Faculty of Medicine, specialized in Internal Medicine. Then, she worked in a shrine for a bit, which changed her significantly. Lore wise, Ga-yoon was later working as a doctor in Tokyo, but her license got suspended. For the time being, she’d have chosen to teach people about medicine out of pure love toward it.
Ga-yoon wants people to realise that medicine is not about curing diseases. She believes medicine is about making decisions under big uncertainty. Ga-yoon wants to teach students how to think critically and understand human aspects behind every diagnosis.
In future, she is looking forward to being allowed back into practicing medicine, but for now, she will share the love she feels for medicine; she didn’t like medicine at first due to teachers approaching the subject incorrectly. Once she realised the true meaning of this subject, she started to love it.
Ga-yoon’s Backstory:
Chapter 0 - Introduction
Ga-yoon Jaibatsume grew up in a small estate in Fukui, she is one of six children in the respected Jaibatsume family. The girl held an unusual calmness, she was reserved and typically unspoken, not drawing much attention from crowds or individuals around her. Because of this, she was not the target of her father Kenzou, who abused Mee-young and Eden. She was simply an obedient child, doing her best to satisfy her parents' expectations. She was helping her family in their business and didn't expect anything in return.
Chapter 1 - The spider's web
Ga-yoon always lived in illusion, growing up in a household where everything was clear, rules, hierarchy, etc. She was sure that everything was in its correct place. Kenzou Mawji, the authority of the family - was strict and stern, which seemed normal for the head of the family. Ga-yoon had never questioned this arrangement. Until that night. An ordinary quiet night, she woke up and got out of bed, thirstiest of all. She went to grab herself a glass of water, however on the way, she've heard something. Was it sobbing? She had no idea. Ga-yoon started to approach the room from which the sounds were coming. She swung the door open and saw something that changed her perspective forever - her ideals and reality had crumbled in half. The father she respected was not really who he claimed to be. Kenzou Mawji, the father she had respected for so long was anything but a father to his children, he was a monster. Mee-young curled up on the floor, making Ga-yoon's vision towards her sister change drastically. Ga-yoon felt anger towards her father. This is not how it should be, the girl thought. The sight of her father above Mee-young, above her like the shadow of a beast, like something inevitable, inescapable. Like a force that no one could oppose. Ga-yoon quietly closed the door, not uttering a word, not wanting to make her presence known. For days, weeks, months, she walked with this knowledge, her shoulders transfixed, this vision hard to bear. Too heavy. What had once seemed certain to her - the hierarchy in the family, her vision.... had all been brutally trampled by this one random situation she had witnessed. Ga-yoon blamed herself for not seeing anything before, she couldn't bear the fact that she was so blind. However, this situation did not make Ga-yoon suddenly a heroine. She didn't throw herself into battle, she wasn't even able to raise her voice against her father. This discovery destroyed her childhood in an instant. Ga-yoon locked herself in her dark burrow, a cave where no one was allowed to enter. The girl never left it for a moment; it was her safe zone. When she had any contact with her father, she looked at him differently. Ga-yoon kept her distance, knowing that if she played this game inappropriately, she would become a victim of his tyranny herself. The girl dared not say anything against Kenzou out loud. She was not the heroine of the story, Ga-yoon was merely an observer, a spectator who joined in too late to react appropriately. This silence, her silence, and lack of reaction became her greatest burden. Ga-yoon could have reacted, but she did not. She began to hate herself for it. Even her mirror reflection made the girl feel an inner disgust towards herself. Ga-yoon, while painting herself using a mirror given for her birthday by her mother, Yumi Jaibatsume, finally couldn't stand it. A "spider web" appeared in the mirror. Ga-yoon deliberately cracked it.
Chapter 2 - The mask of nonchalance
After the traumatic discovery of the physical abuse that Ga-yoon discovered, her vision lay in ruins. She avoided her father and siblings, as she spent most of her time locked in her room. She'd only leave her room to help mother with chores but it was not always the case. Ga-yoon struggled to understand her new reality. However, life went on and school duties evolved due to her absence from school. Mee-young, her older sister, despite her situation, continued studies with her extreme determination. Her strength was an inspiration but also a reminder of Ga-yoon's weakness. The girl was later filled with admiration when Mee-young fought against her monsters at school. Watching her sister, Ga-yoon realized that she had to find a way to survive in her new reality. The girl adopted a 'mask' of nonchalance - an apparent indifference designed to protect her fragile insides from further cracks. Ga-yoon's new attitude allowed her to hide her emotions, as well as giving her the illusion of strength and confidence. As time passed, Ga-yoon mastered this art to perfection. Ga-yoon's face was completely blank from this point. Her mask became her shield, that was meant to protect her from the cruel world. Beneath it, there was a deep scar that no one was able to heal.
Chapter 3 - The growing shadow of an ideal
Jade Jaibatsume was never Ga-yoon's favorite - but she wasn't an intruder to her even though she didn't share blood with her. However, that changed when Jade began to find herself better at home than Ga-yoon herself. Even Mee-young herself seemed to like Jade better. Moreover, the girl easily won the sympathy of the teachers. This hurt, but Ga-yoon couldn't admit it. Instead, the girl let jealousy turn into anger. Jade, the girl who shouldn't be here, fits in here better than Ga-yoon. She was closer to the ideal than she was - and she hated that. Ga-yoon decided to prevent this. Instead of trying to become the best version of herself, the girl preferred to make Jade worse. It all started with biting comments, questioning her value and place in the family, and ironic smiles that made every praise Jade received taste bitter. However, this was not enough for Ga-yoon. The girl was going to go one step further. It was going to have to hurt her. Before turning to violence, Ga-yoon was clipping her wings. Her belongings disappeared, her notes were destroyed, and she found hidden messages undermining her place in the family. Ga-yoon was telling Jade that they had found her in a dumpster and that her parents had left her. Yet despite this, Jade could only be harmed by Ga-yoon. When someone accosted her, the girl would stand up for her younger sister. Jade was her puppet to play with. Ga-yoon who was unable to stop her father from abusing Mee-young, who was just an observer without any control. But in her relationship with Jade, it was she who dictated the terms, she who decided how much pain Jade would receive. And surprisingly, Ga-yoon did not want to destroy her. Ga-yoon believed that if she had control over someone, she could stop further cracks in her mirror. However, hurting Jade was taking its toll on herself. Ga-yoon didn't want or couldn't admit that deep down she admired Jade. Her ego did not allow it. The girl preferred to hurt her instead.
Chapter 4 - Hollow Laughter
Ga-yoon and her sisters' father were murdered by Winter Jaibatsume herself. The news reached her quickly. Although she was distanced from her father after the event she had witnessed, his death triggered an avalanche of feelings in the girl that flooded her. Ga-yoon, who had formed a mask of nonchalance, could not use it this time. Ga-yoon was filled with chaos. The death of her father reminded her of everything once again. On the other hand, she was happy that the reason for her sibling's suffering was gone. But also, she felt a bit empty inside and lost. In a way, however, the girl had become like her father. The mask of nonchalance reappeared on her face and with it a loud laugh. Almost hysterical. Ga-yoon amid the gathered family members simply started laughing.
"So that's it then? So much mess, and the ending is so simple?"
Ga-yoon's reaction shocked the sisters who were abused by Kenzou. It was as if the girl was aware, and knew more than the rest. Her eyes, as cool as night, lit water, shone with nonchalance; there was no sadness, regret, or even satisfaction in her. The death of her father for the rest was a relief. For her, it was nothing, or at least that's how she tried to show it. Inside the girl was nevertheless boiling.
"Well, maybe at least we'll have peace." She uttered these words after which she simply left the meeting.
What is their outlook on students and their co-workers?
Ga-yoon sees students as creatures with incredible potential. She doesn't treat students like empty vases you just pour knowledge into and leave the classroom. She encourages students to question assumptions, thinking critically and defending their statements, even if they don’t match with what Ga-yoon is saying. She is very patient with mistakes, believing human error just simply happens, considering it a nature of humans, but what is important for her is whether someone takes a lesson out of the error or not.
When it comes to her co-workers, Ga-yoon is silent and not very social, though she is professional and respectful. She does not like engaging or causing any arguments or fights whatsoever. However she loves discussions, more than anything, casual conversations are boring for her, but a discussion where someone is able to challenge her statements and defend their own statements, is where Ga-yoon feels fulfilled. She values people who are able to do such a thing, as long as they remain respectful, serious and calm, but still throw arguments like sharp daggers.
What is their motivation for becoming a professor?:
I did kinda explain it before (Oopsie!) but I will go into greater detail here.
If you'd have told Ga-yoon she will be a professor in the future, she would laugh at you. But life is unpredictable, isn't it?
Medicine was everything for her. She dedicated herself fully into it, diagnosing people, saving lives. However, after a controversial decision she made, choosing an experimental therapy to save a patient, her license got suspended, despite her decision, saving the patient. Because of it, she became unable to practice medicine.
Many people would give up at this point, many people would get discouraged. But she did not let her passion die. She chose to share her passion to people through teaching. She wants people to realise that medicine is not just a boring lecture about diseases or body parts. She believes medicine is ABOUT people. About observation, judgement, ethics and difficult decisions you have to make despite not knowing everything. Medicine is not boring, medicine is cruel, medicine is unfair, medicine is scary. She wants people to see that the same way she does.
She doesn't hope to create doctors. She hopes to make people never interested in medicine, be curious about her next class. She wants them to stay in uncertainty, never knowing how the next class would look like. She simply wants to share her own adoration, experience to people.
Roleplay Scenarios
A jock is ignoring your lesson and throwing paper balls at another student, what would your character do?
While most of the teachers or professors would hand out a warning or even detention slip, Ga-yoon would have approached it completely differently.
Students throw a ball. Disruptive behaviour it seems, right? No, not for her. She'd make that student a part of the discussion. Ga-yoon would give an example using that person's name or ask a direct question about the topic; not in a punishing way. She believes accountability often teaches a lot.
Only if the disruptive behaviour would be unbearable, she'd decide to warn and then, remove the student from class if they prevented others from learning in peace.
A student doesn’t seem to understand the material, yet hasn’t requested help, what would your character do?
Knowing the student is struggling with the material, she'd not be annoyed, she'd not be disappointed or anything like that, again her philosophy about incredible human potential. She would try to involve the struggling student in discussions, asking questions, making examples, instead of pointing out their difficulties.
If it wouldn't be enough, after class she would speak to them, offering help or additional resources.
When in the faculty lounge, how does your character act?
First of all, Ga-yoon would probably not spend lots of the time in the faculty lounge, she prefers absolute quiet, so if anything, she'd spend time at her own classroom. That doesn't mean she would not go there at all though.
She is in general quiet and observant. She'd likely eat her lunch or drink coffee, maybe if the room is quiet enough, review lesson plans she had prepared, read medical journals, or listen to conversations of other faculty members, if she'd find them not interesting, she'd not participate in them.
Like I said before, she prefers meaningful discussions with a point. She isn't exactly anti-social. A bit awkward? Yes. But once you engage in something beyond small talk, you'd find Ga-yoon to be actually really interesting and fun talking with.
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas and one field trip idea related to your subject
The Impossible Choice - Interactive Class Idea #1
She would present three cases in which the resources are limited and only one patient can be saved. Students receive realistic patient’s information, like it was coming from an actual patient card. They receive every single important and unimportant detail that could affect you emotionally, along the raw numbers, chances of survival. Students must discuss and choose who they would have saved. The purpose of it is to demonstrate that medicine is not about finding a cure, but making extremely hard decisions, decisions MOST people would be unable to make. It’s encouraged for students to justify their choice, while Ga-yoon would question each decision they make, so they recognize there is NO a perfect solution.
Ga-yoon would start the class with extremely cruel question;
“You have one ventilator, three patients need it. If you choose one, the other two will die. What do you do?”
Then, she’d present each patient’s information for bigger controversy.
“First patient! Haruka, seventeen years old. She is a swim captain and in the future wants to become a veterinarian to save cute animals like puppies, kittens. Doesn't matter. She does not have any medical conditions. But unfortunately, she had a car accident. The car rolled multiple times and caused chest trauma, making her unable to breath due to blood collecting in lungs. She needs a ventilator urgently. Her chances of survival without it are 0%. Her chances of survival with a ventilator is 90%.”
“Second patient. Takashi. He is a widowed father of two children, as his wife passed away. He also owns a small restaurant named Mori’s lantern. He is alone taking care of his family, working hard and making sure the kids are fed. There is no significant medical history. Viral pneumonia, lung infection by the virus. Currently, the infection has spread through her lungs. He is struggling for every single breath, oxygen levels keep falling despite treatment. Chances of survival with a ventilator are 75%. Without it, 0%”
“And last one… Dr Sato. He is an emergency physician, worked in a hospital for over 30 years, saving multiple people's lives. He’s been a mentor for lots of the young doctors. He was about to go on retirement, with his wife, and wanted to spend the rest of his time in a cozy house near a big lake. His need to help people caused interruption of his plans; Dr Sato was treating a patient with a dangerous respiratory disease, and unfortunately, got infected himself. His lungs got damaged, remains calm and aware of what is happening. Chances of survival with a ventilator? 60%. Without? 0%.”
“Knowing all those details, making the decision is impossible, right?”
“But if you do nothing, three of them will die. So you have to make a decision.”
The Diagnosis Race - Interactive Class Idea #2
During this class, everyone will be a doctor, and Ga-yoon herself will be the patient, that will not reveal everything, at least not if you ask her directly. She will pretend to be an actual patient that omits, forgets, misunderstands or intentionally hides important information.
The task for students is to collect information, understand what question is important and ask it, and build a theory about potential causes. Information will be revealed exponentially by Ga-yoon as the time goes on.
The class will start with;
""You're all the doctors. I am a patient, 24-yo, I have severe abdominal pain. Heal me."
The purpose of the class is to demonstrate that medicine is not about memorizing symptoms and comparing them to diseases. Real medicine DOES require collecting information, identifying inconsistencies and adapting when new information is revealed.
Hospital - The Field Trip Idea
Students will visit the Karakura Hospital with Ga-yoon. However, the point of the field trip would not be explaining each room's purpose, it would be boring. Instead, students will receive a fictional case created by Ga-yoon, and the information will be revealed as the field trip progresses.
Each stop will reveal new information and change the situation's light.
Stop 1 - Patient Intake
Stop 2 - Laboratory
Stop 3 - MRI
Stop 4 - Endocrinology
Final stop - Conference Room
The field trip will teach that diagnoses are not formed from a few symptoms, but through a process of gathering information and test results.
Thank you for reading my application.
