I have playlists for all my characters, but.
- Goemon Asōgi: Nights by Frank Ocean
Especially the beginning. The lyrics go like:
'Round your city, 'round the clock
Everybody needs you
No, you can't make everybody equal
Although you got beaucoup family
You don't even got nobody bein' honest with you
That's so him. I've talked about this so often.
- Aria Saiky: Endless No Mores by Elmiene
The song as a whole encapsulates how Aria felt at the beginning of his story. How all seemed bleak, and how things weren't as lovely, as vibrant, as joyous anymore. How he just could not find it in him to enjoy things anymore, in spite of his desperation.
Thankfully, things are different for the boy now.
- Mei Asōgi: Bad by Teyana Taylor
While Mei is still a fairly new character (and conquered my heart with ease), I figured that there's a reason why she now holds impossibly high standards for anyone who enters her life, whether she's in a platonic or romantic relationship with them: A past love, unrequited. The lyrics make the singer seem hurt, and angry, but above all else, it shows a clear realization of how she was treated. And that, despite the hurt, she persevered and, as Teyana said,
[they] turned a good girl into a bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad bitch.
She considers going above and beyond for one another the
bare minimum now.
