Describe your activity on the server:
Currently, I am an active member of the SRP community, spending approximately 4 - 5 hours a day on the server. Despite this, my hours on the server often exceed this time, depending on things I have to do, such as college work or other things in my life. Most of my time is spent between two accounts, xXXuanderXx and xXXuander05Xx, as on my main (xXXuanderXx), I am currently a member of the football team, while on the second, I engage in different types of roleplay, ranging from criminal or even normal roleplay with others. Although I want to broaden my horizons and experience something new, bringing my excitement back to the server, as there’s something brand new for me to do. Additionally, I also spend my time taking part in events on the server, such as player-run ones or those that are made for the entire server to experience.
New things on the server are something that I seek out, trying to experience something new and that I have not had the opportunity to do in my three years on the server, taking part in this faction would be one of those things as it’s one of the two factions that I’ve been wanting to take part in for quite sometime on the server.
Playtime
This is my current playtime of writing this application for my xXXuander05Xx account.
This is my current playtime as of writing this application on my xXXuanderXx account.
Schedule
Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Saturday | Sunday |
12pm + | 3pm + | 3pm + | 12am + | 12am + | 12am + | 12am + |
This is just an estimated time, normally, I can spend more hours on the server than the time above.
What is your motivation for applying?:
1. Roleplay and experience
One of the major things that has motivated me to apply for this faction is that I want to experience something new. KPD is one of the main factions on the server that has taken my interest for a long while, mainly because I have been on the opposing side for such a long time and want to experience being a member of the emergency faction. Along with this, roleplaying as a character that is not crime-related would be a fun experience and let me develop into areas that I might not be able to, such as developing a character with strong morals and focusing on the right thing instead of the wrong. Emergency faction is also a faction that I’ve yet to dive into, as in the previous question (One related to previous factions). I have been a part of the government faction, alongside the school faction, which I spent some of my time in previously. Finally, joining this faction will broaden my chances to experience roleplay with other members of the faction, while being in it myself.
2. Developing into my character and others
Furthermore, the development of my currently existing character would play a part in my motivation, as I would love to build more upon it. For example, allowing him to be a member of the police force would allow me to develop more into his crime-fighting side. Another thing, I would be able to offer roleplay to others that wouldn’t get the everyday experience of interacting with an officer, along with giving them the opportunity to build lore with my character, while also developing into my own at the same time, rather this be through a simple event or even interaction.
3. Involvement
Being a part of this faction would allow me to contribute my time and effort to it, as most of the time, I am looking for something to do while on the server, whether this be role-playing or even making suggestions to improve something. Taking part, helping, and providing anything I can to the server, while also keeping myself involved. It would only keep me occupied and also help me take part in something and gain that experience at the same time. While being more involved within the emergency faction and SRP overall.
What knowledge do you have of Police Work?
Out-Of-Character
Although not having the greatest knowledge of what police do outside of SRP, I still know a few basic things that they do. Starting off, one of the main things that they do is respond to calls for things such as a criminal investigation or blocking areas for fires. Despite there not being a department for fire on the server, this is something that occurs in the real world. Overall, their job like officers in SRP, is to ensure that people are safe and to place criminals behind bars - or serve justice as a whole. Additionally, another aspect that police do Out-of-character is detective work. This is normally when they look into a crime scene and figure out a lead on someone, along with this, the detective also focus on who has committed said crime, eventually ending the case with a chase that leads to the catching of the culprit. Adding onto this, they do things such as raids on spaces for a variety of reasons with warrants. Detectives can even search a place to find incriminating evidence on someone that can be used against then in a case, although they would need the right paperwork to do so (Warrant).
Furthermore, out-of-character, they deter people from committing crimes whilst also acting as public figures or examples that are there to help guide and show that there is always a better life. For example, instead of doing something like committing a small crime, the officers are there to help give an alternative, as smaller crimes could lead to severe ones later on down the line. They act as a prevention for this while also protecting the city, maintaining peace, and stopping public riots or gatherings that have the potential to turn violent or aggressive.
Overall, out-of-character police have many similarities to the ones within SRP. In a sense, they have the same job and goal.
School Roleplay
Due to spending a lot of time on SRP and interacting with the KPD on many occasions, I have a vast amount of knowledge of what they are capable of. Along with this, I was also involved in the government faction a year ago, and these factions intertwine with one another. For example, criminal trials are one of these things that are intertwined as officers are there to speak against the criminal, while also maintaining peace within the courtroom room in case there’s anything serious, such as a riot or the criminal making an attempt to cause harm to someone within the room. On certain occasions, such as speeches they will go and ensure that riots or crime are not taking place in the area of the speech.
Basic things that they do
Patrols - One of the most basic things that an officer must do as a KPD member is Patrols. This is something that they can do at the rank of cadet, if they have another member of the force who is a higher rank than them. When on these patrols, officers will leave the station in a group (or solo) and patrol around Karakura, making sure that crime is not taking place. If they stumble upon a crime being committed, they will make their way to the area and handle the topics, whether this be arresting an individual or applying a fine depending on the crime that has taken place.
CCTV - CCTV, a major aspect within the faction, as it allows the officers to find out details on a situation from inside the station - identifying a crime and what is visible to the public. Additionally, this is also a plugin that the faction has access to, which allows them to see through the cameras scattered throughout the map. This allows them to see events from a live point of view and this helps them respond to the situation in an appropriate manner. However, to access these cameras, they will have to go to a specific area in the station. Due to the emergency plugin, they would need to use the information given to them via the callers to pinpoint the exact location of the camera at the crime. From there, they will use the information to respond to the situation or to later use it for an investigations. Along with this, it’s used to spot wanted criminals who are arrest on sight - CCTV serves as the eyes from the station.
Deskwork - Deskwork, another basic duty of an officer. This is something that they can do while in the KPD station to gain quota, one of the main tasks they will do while at the desk is dealing with bails. Whether this be a citizen asking about bails or paying for one, officers at the desk can answer those questions along with all other information that they may want to know (If they are allowed to give it). An additional thing that the officer will do at the desk is take reports that people have made and then file them for later use within a case. Finally, they are also able to take reports that are actively going on. Example: if someone runs in and tells the officer about a crime that is currently taking place.
Respond to calls - Responding to calls is one of the most basic things that an officer has to do. While on call, they will gain information from a citizen and then respond to the situation appropriately. One of the most common calls they may get are assaults, but they can also respond to things like a criminal event that has been reported or is actively taking place. In addition to this, they also respond to someone asking about a question of if there is an officer around that could come to the front desk.
Arrests - The most common activity that officers are known to do. The officers will handle these situations with a variety of topics, such as choosing the time and length of the charges. Additionally, they will calculate the length of the prison sentence or the price of a fine that needs to be given.
Criminal Trials - These can happen against officers, if an inmate who has been arrested pleads not guilty to a crime they have been charged with. If this occurs, the arresting officer will have to interact with a lawyer and hand over sufficient evidence of anything involving the crime that links it to the criminal. Along with this, the arresting officer will be attending the trial as a defense against the opposing side since they are the person in charge of the arrest. Other officers who are not involved directly with the trial will stand inside and outside the courtroom to ensure that everything is running smoothly and peacefully, stopping riots and arrests, or attempts to escape.
Codes - KPD and EMS have codes that correlate to different meanings. These are used to communicate with one another through the radio or in person, without any civilians or anyone outside of the factions understanding the meaning. They are used in a variety of situations; the most serious of these codes is the code zero. This code will alert all current officers that another officer has been severely hurt or something large is happening, where someone is seriously at risk, causing all paramedics and officers to be alerted to the location. Overall, each code has a different use or meaning, but only a select few understand them and can put them to use (All KPD and EMS).
Crime Levels - Depending on the amount of crime that takes place within Karakura in a certain period of time. The level of crime can be raised, which affects many things that happen within the KPD, mainly equipment that has to be taken out when on patrol or responding to a call. Along with this, the number of officers required to take on a patrol is raised or lowered depending on whether the level has been raised or lowered. Finally, many things can heighten the crime level, such as criminal events or officers being attacked, and a plethora of other factors.
Interrogations/Questionings - On occasions, officers may detain a member of the public or even call them via their phone, asking if they can come to the station for questioning. These situations will most likely revolve around a crime that has recently been reported or even committed by the individual. During an interrogation, they will be asked a series of questions related to the crime that the arresting officer or detective is trying to investigate. Officers during this time can watch through a viewing window that is one-sided, allowing them to gain all evidence from the person that is being interrogated, whilst also not being visible to the offender.
Raids - Raids are situational and happen in certain scenarios, yet are a part of an officer's duty. These raids, consist of going into a person’s apartment or house to find illegal weaponry, a suspected criminal, or something that has been hidden away. Each raid requires a warrant to enter an apartment or house and officers must show it if requested by the house owner. To gain a warrant, they must ask a judge, as they cannot raid an apartment until one has been granted by a judge.
Cadets
These are new officers who have been accepted, they have many limitations compared to a regular patrol officer. One of these limits is not being able to leave the station, as they have to achieve patrol officer rank before they are allowed to. It is the first rank for everyone who has successfully made it into the faction, and when they obtain this rank, they will be given the list of items below.
- Police baton
- Handcuffs
-Police radio
- Stun gun/Taser
-Gas mask
-Breathalyzer
-Pepper spray
-Body Camera
-Luminol spray
-Riot Shield when it’s required
Patrol officer
A patrol officer is an officer who has just passed their exams and is now an official member of the force. This rank gives them the ability to do a variety of new things, such as leave the station and respond to calls when they are needed in the city.
Corporal / Detective Constable
These are members of the KPD who have shown they are active and dedicated enough for a promotion. Patrol officers have the choice to go into the detective division, which allows them to apply their learning of different subjects compared to the main division, such as investigating a crime. At this rank, these officers or detectives gain the ability to use a crowbar when necessary, and it becomes a part of their everyday equipment.
Sergeant / Detective Inspector
A rank that is gained once you’ve proven you are worthy of the title. This is a level that is gained before becoming a higher-up in the force. Officers gain access to a tranquilizer gun. I am aware that they have to take another exam to reach this level.
Lieutenant/Detective Chief Inspector
Lieutenant is a rank that a maximum of three members of the force can hold at one time. Obtaining this rank means that you are a higher-up and hold new responsibilities, such as people going to you about certain situations, OOCLY or ICLY. Just like in other factions, they will help manage the lower ranks and overall have more of a say in changes that may occur or need to take place - an example being emergency levels. Upon receiving this rank, you then receive a police cruiser, which is a four-seater car used to respond to calls.
Captain / Detective Superintendent
Captain and Detective Superintendent are the second in command of the KPD and considered a higher-up in the faction. Captains, in the main division or Detective Superintendent, are one of the roles that are held by the most trusted and dedicated players in the factions. They may have extra duties such as delivering speeches, however, they are rare, although they have taken place in the past.
Commissioner
This is the highest rank of the faction and is also an individual rank as only one person can hold this. This person runs the faction as the lead, and they are responsible for choosing the new officers, along with making a majority of changes. This role is held by a staff member of the server.

Why is Police important to SchoolRP?
The police play an important role within the server. Mainly because they are created to bring more realism into the server, as one of the significant things that they combat is the criminal and gang side of the server. Without KPD being a faction on the server, crime would be running rampant and lacking any sort of risk, while also not working properly due to a lack of losing things and getting caught. Although the KPD faction is not just around for being a way to combat the criminals and gang roleplayers, they also do basic things such as protecting the public from animals, ghosts, or other events that may take place. Ensuring that everyone is safe and calm during this time, preventing injury to others' characters while also offering a fun roleplay experience. Different approaches will be taken to certain situations, like officers would take in real life, adding more realism to the server while also keeping it fun for the community. They also have to deal with some of the big events on the server, such as criminal ones that don’t directly hurt anyone, but to deal with the aftermath of the situation.
Overall, they’re an important part of the server as they are an emergency response team that rushes to situations and ensures that everyone is safe. While also adding the realism and risk to the other side of the server, fundamental parts that are required for everything to work.
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?
I am fully aware of this, and understand that if I don’t attend the training that I will be at risk of receiving a punishment such as a strike or even removal from the faction in serious situations.
What's your character's full name?:
Touma’s finger struck against the desk, a hum escaping his lips to fill the brief moment of silence that enveloped the room. Taking a moment to ponder over the question that was asked, silence was broken as a voice echoed through the room, clear enough for the interviewer to understand but lacking confidence.
“Touma. . . Touma Toshinari! That’s my name, and it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Silence enveloped the room once more as Toshinari sat at the desk. The striking of his finger halted as his hand extended out to retrieve a pen from upon the desk, a scrap piece of paper exiting his other pocket moments later. Scribbling of a pen filled the room as his name was printed onto the parchment, sliding it forwards to reveal his name in cursive ‘Touma Toshinara’.
How old is your character (if accepted)?:
The clicking of the pen filled in the gaps of silence, eyes glancing around the interviewing room. Eyeing the clock, watching the seconds tick past before his attention flicked onto the parchment once more. The number twenty-eight(28) was etched onto the paper, resting beside his name. Pushed forward for it to be displayed once more.
“Currently, twenty-eight! I’m getting old now, aren’t I?”
Words escaping his mouth as if his nerves seemed to have calmed, not the case in any sense, but these questions were simple, easy to answer at the very least. His fingers began dancing along the table to distract himself from the deafening silence, his nerves that seemed to be plotting against him. Shallow breaths escaping his lips every once in a while, preparing himself for the rest of the interview and what was to come.
What are your character's gender and pronouns?:
Shaky breaths constantly escaped his lips, his nerves starting to get the best of him. Toshinari had prepped over and over again for this, adjusting himself in the seat, leaning his arm onto the desk, and remaining calm on the outside. Eyes occasionally glancing in the direction of the clock, watching it tick away, but alas, the question was asked, and his focus was on that.
“I am a male. My pronouns are He or Him, but I do not mind what I’m called.”
Fingers still dancing across the table from the previous question, not coming to a halt. A sound that seemed to be calming, ticking in sync with the seconds of the clock as it ticked by. An indicator of how long all of this was taking? Another breath, preparing for the more complicated questions of the interview.
Please select your highest academic role at the time of writing this application:
(Grade-12/Bachelors/Masters/PhD):
Another simple question was shot in his direction, degree? Touma Toshinari had prepared for this moment and brought everything that was needed with him, reaching his hand out to the side of him. Grabbing a pristine brown bag from beside him, reaching into it and removing his degrees, and placing them on the desk.
“My master's degree is right there if you’d like to view it.”
His finger pointed in its direction, not like it didn’t stand out upon the table. Though at the top of the degree, it clearly showed the words Law in bold.
OOC
I currently have a college Master's tag at the time of applying for this faction.
What languages does your character know besides Japanese?:
Retrieving the degree from the table, it was swiftly stuffed back into the bag before being leaned against his chair for later use. His attention instantly returned to the interviewer, eyes meeting with them as his tie was adjusted. Trying his best to remain formal, fingers halting after such a long time. . . This was becoming normal for him?
“You wish to know. . . My languages? Japanese is my native language.”
For a split moment, his thoughts seemed to be scattered and all over the place. Snapping back into reality moments later, he added to the statement that was previously made by him, refusing to leave any information out of the equation.
“I don’t want to give you a life story, so German, Korean, and Uhhhhhh. . . Sign Language!”
Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?
Toshinari’s hand slipped into his pocket, revealing a handheld mirror that went crashing against the floor the moment it exited his pocket. The mirror on it cracked into several different piece’s warping the reflection of him. Raising a hand to cover his entire face, embarrassed at his inability to properly retrieve it from his pocket.
“Sorry, uh, I didn’t mean to. . .”
His sentence abruptly cut off, headshaking as if not to even explain the events that just took place, not acknowledging any of it. It was clear as day that he didn’t like the fact he messed up, wasn’t it?
“Looks, I see myself as average and I’ve got this brown hair. . . Wish it was blonde but! As for anything else? I’ve got a scar on my hand.”
As he spoke, his hand reached up to his hair. Grabbing a strand before twisting it around his fingers, he pointed to the scar on his hands moments later. Where was it from?
Ooc description
Touma Toshinari stood at a height of six feet, four inches. His posture was stiff, his presence was withdrawn, but at a sign of it faltering, it was corrected, returning to be composed. Strands of chocolate-Brown hair drooped down his face, covering the bridge of his nose. Often, found with bed-hair as if he’d just woken up moments prior, strands of his hair shooting off in different directions, but it seemed tamed, as if styled like it. All of his facial features were revealed, and nothing out of the ordinary seemed to be prevalent or shown.
His face was untouched, like there wasn’t a history of battle. Cheekbones were sharp, and jawline defined. At a glance, anybody would notice his milk-chocolate eyes that were soft and welcoming, as if offering a sense of warmth from a singular glance. Touma’s eyes seemed to dart around, glancing towards many things at once and trying to gain a read on the situation, or was the man just shy?
In terms of clothing. The man was constantly found around town in a variety of different things, versatile with his options. He doesn’t seem to follow a trend in his aesthetic, but rather changes his outfits based on the occasion, fitting the aesthetic that is needed. He simply wears casual in casual situations and presents himself more professionally in situations that require it.
Behaviour
His finger struck the wooden table that was before him, tapping in a melodical pattern once more. As his eyes seemed to dart around the room, capturing his attention was the clock. . . How many minutes had passed since the interview had started? His head shook, darting his attention back to the interviewer before him, breaths escaping his lips.
“You wish to know. . . How do I act?”
A moment was taken to collect his thoughts, recollect past events, and the way that he viewed himself.
“I. . . Uhm, I tend to stand away from large crowds. It’s peaceful there, and I can hear my thoughts, although I don’t mind being involved in them when needed. I love socialising with people! Even if. . . if I tend to be rather shy sometimes.
OOC
Touma is a silent person and tends to avoid large crowds. Despite this, he doesn’t hate being in them but instead chooses to avoid them and will go near them when required to do so. He is often found standing away from everyone else but does like striking up conversations with those around him, rather these be friends or strangers. Under stress, Toshinari could often be found freezing up or even stuttering at simple questions that are asked of him, due to his lack of conversation and lack of interaction with those around him. Despite these issues, Toshinari would love to jump into a conversation at any point and interact with those around him, pushing himself out of his comfort zone.
Ailments
The man once more reached into the pristine brown bag that was resting against his chair, rummaging inside it for some sort of document, proof. A file of some sort exited the back, placed upon the table. It was his medical papers, placing it onto the table before pushing it towards the interviewer, allowing them to get a good look. Touma didn’t seem to have much on it; that was clear
“Here are my medical files, nothing much. . . Not that I remember at the least. I’m rather healthy physically and mentally.”.
His voice seemed to lower, finger tapping away at the table, moving it’s way towards the sheet of paper before him. Finally, it came to rest upon the physical ailments on the records.
“Unfortunate events led to me having difficulties with my hand, arm, for that matter. Storms have been happening left, right, and center. . . I wasn’t lucky and got struck.”
OOC
Nerve damage in his arm - Due to an unfortunate lightning strike that Toshi was a victim of. His right arm suffered nerve damage, causing things to be a little more difficult with it, such as simply picking things up. Over time, this is a difficulty that he’s had to overcome and work with, even if it has taken multiple hours to train his arm to become stronger. It still does not work like it used to, and this sometimes causes difficulties.
How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?
His hand reached onto the desk, removing the paperwork that was once there and stuffing it away into his bag. Leaning it onto the side of the chair, trying to maintain eye contact with the person before him, eyes occasionally drifting. . . A struggle to maintain eye contact.
“Casual and professional? Uhm. In a casual situation, I’m able to relax and be myself, doing things such as cracking jokes with the people around me to keep them entertained. It’s boring to constantly act professional, but that does not mean it’s not important.”
Breath escaped his lips, tracking his eyes to the clock. Hoping that this would soon be over, but alas, it was him answering the questions, and the longer the brunette took to respond. The longer it went on.
“As for professional, I’ll need to be serious in those situations! Not joking around as if I mess something up or an event goes wrong. It risks the life of those around me, due to a mistake that I may have made because I was not acting properly.”
OOC
During a casual situation, Toshinari is aware that he can be laid back. Cracking jokes with those around him, depending on the situation that he’s in, as not all of them will require him to remain serious. Although some casual situations may require him to be serious, even more robot-like like that does not mean the man has to constantly act like one, and in these situations, the man would be aware that he’s not putting anyone at risk if a little prank or joke is played on someone. While his nerves play a large factor into the person that he is, Touma will force himself into situations that requires him to be social and interactive rather that be with the community, co-workers, or even friends that surround him. In a casual situation, people will see the side of him that is not seen while he’s on duty, working.
Professional situations require the man to be more strict with the things that he’s doing. Double-checking everything that is said or done in his mind before actually doing it, because if one thing is done wrong or even if a joke has been cracked, someone could be at serious risk. Patrols and police work require him to constantly remain serious, professional, as the public will also look to him for help, but at the same time, Toshi will force himself to be more social, as talking will be a large part of his job. The man will be more robotic or even soldier-like, doing the things that are required without even questioning it, and in a professional manner. A singular mistake can cause someone to be hurt.
What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?
Time was quickly passing, and the first section of his interview was coming to an end. A breath escaped his lips, relieved that it was soon to be over. His eyes constantly switched between the clock and the person interviewing him, remaining serene.
“M- My outlook on co-workers and teamwork? They go hand in hand, in my opinion, that is. Everyone has different views on it, but I view it as a thing that shouldn’t exist without the other.”
A pause in his words as his finger struck the desk, second nature to him. As if to drown out the ticking of the clock that signified the passing of a second, eyes fixated upon the clock as he spoke.
“Teamwork is a crucial part of working in a team or with fellow co-workers, and trust is a key part of this. Well! It allows the team and co-workers to work with one another without worrying about someone betraying them or doing something they should not be. Getting their task done so others can smoothly do theirs.”
A brief pause as a breath was taken in, and the brunette continued on speaking. Not a singular mistake in his words so far? Strange. Maybe he was becoming more confident with this situation.
“Co-workers are the people around me that I can converse with, not only those that I work with, but those that can become my friends. They work on the same team as me and deserve my trust as they are there to do the same job as me.”
OOC
Toshinari views his co-workers as a team, people who are working to achieve the same goal as him or a similar one. These people work side by side with him; trusting them is an important thing to get the job done, whether this be a simple patrol or even catching a criminal. In his opinion, it’s essential to maintain a positive relationship with these people to ensure that he can properly communicate with them and remain in their good graces, as it builds trust between them. Trust is an essential part of working with his co-workers as they will be dealing with a variety of situations where people could be at risk in or even potentially himself. Maintaining this will ensure that people will be able to get out of situations as safely as possible, while also minimizing the risk to them and those around them.
Teamwork, in his eyes, is practically necessary to work with his co-workers, a key part of making his role as an officer go smoothly. He is well aware that everything cannot be done alone, instead leaning on those around him when necessary, as relying on others can make situations safer, easier, and also possible in certain situations. The team must trust one another to maintain this level of trust to ensure everything runs smoothly and the job is done without a single mistake being made or minimized. It is also necessary to communicate issues or problems that are taking place clearly, as it will also minimize risk. If Toshi cannot do it, then people might be at risk.
What's your character's backstory?
Kyoto
Toshinari was brought up in a wealthy family in Kyoto, Japan. A wealth that was inherited from past generations caused his parents to be rather strict when it came to a variety of things within his life. In his childhood, Touma lacked any sort of friendships or even interactions with peers his own age. This was due to him being rather sheltered from the world, causing common everyday things to be a rather rare occurrence. This later led to him developing a rather shy personality, stuttering in almost every sentence, or even lacking the ability to get the right words or even any out of his mouth. At the age of eight, Toshi was allowed more freedom, but many issues seemed to build up around him, one of the biggest, still being communication with those around him, and this didn’t go unnoticed by his parents, people who eventually approached him and offered a solution. To him. Even though his parents were strict, restricting him from doing certain things, at heart, they were truly loving and cared for him deeply.
Once the boy reached the age of thirteen, his parents decided to send him to live with his grandparents in Karakura, Japan. As a learning experience, a new opportunity to gain the real-life experience that was needed, while also offering him the opportunity to fix his communication skills.
A tragic accident
His arrival in Karakura went smoothly, settling down in his grandparents' home without issues. Although many things, such as lifestyle, were different as his grandparents weren’t as well off, he viewed it as a learning experience that could brighten his future and even push him to be better, experiencing more than what was taught to him. One major change was his school life, finally attending a public school, his sheltered life that once was there, gone, and turned into nothing but a memory. Toshinari started pushing himself out of his comfort zone, realizing that everything was practically impossible if standing away from everyone. Although not perfected, it was the beginning of his interaction with those around him, a shell of his former self being destroyed.
At around the age of twenty-one (21) the man received some terrible news that his father had passed away. An event that seemed to shock him and flip his world upside down, Touma’s father was a person that he looked up to and strived to be, taken from him too early by an incident in which his father tried to step in and save an innocent person from getting robbed. Hearing the news, Touma Toshinari was infuriated and annoyed at the world as someone important to him was taken from him, an act that caused him to develop a desire to keep the world a better place, free of crime, and become something like a hero that was seen on television as a kid. His studies quickly became focused on law and enforcement, taking a major interest in the role of officers and their line of work, striving to be one from this age onwards.
Change of lifestyle
Around the age of twenty-three(23), Touma decided to move back to Kyoto once more. Residing with his mother in their home, Touma, for a short period, relied on his mother for getting by in his normal life, not having a job to support himself. As time seemed to pass, thoughts lingered in the back of his mind about the goal that he wanted to achieve. Becoming an officer was his dream for a while, and he took this opportunity to gain basic working skills. After hunting for a job in Kyoto, he earned himself an internship with the local police station, doing a variety of tasks, but this was only for a few years before eventually quitting due to unforeseen circumstances with his grandparents back in Karakura. They fell ill, which caused him and his mother to move over there, taking care of them, while also trying to deal with the loss of a role that he enjoyed so much. He was close to obtaining his dream job, but it was stripped away from him by the world.
Karkura Present day
It was a strange experience for the man to return to Karakura, a place that he thought of fondly, compared to some others who lived there. Since arriving, his whole view seemed to have flipped, seeing more than what was noticed on his first visit, noticing more crime and events that took place. Maybe it was due to him looking out for it more, or even being unfortunate enough to stumble into it. Though his main issue at the time was taking care of his grandparents, his mother offered to look after them while he searched for a way to support them all. Eventually, after a long while of searching, Toshi landed himself an interview with a person at the Karakura police department, maybe his dream was coming true? He alerted his family before eventually preparing for the interview.
Not much happened in the time of the interview, but events seemed to replay in his head, words that were stated to him by his mother, and how his father had passed away, trying to protect another. He was determined to gain this job and to protect the city of Karakrua.

Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?
A silence engulfed the room that Toshinari was sitting in as the interviewer turned the page of his documents, signing everything necessary. Hushed whistle escaping the male's lips as the next part of the interview took place, eyes focused upon the man before him as the whistling eventually became null and void. Breath taken before speaking out.
“A knife? That’s. . . That’s not a legal thing that can be owned in Karakura. Any bladed weapon, for that matter! If anyone is found with this sort of item on them, they should be charged with possession of illegal weaponry and sentenced to prison. Well, that’s if they don’t have any additional things on the knife, like blood or even signs of it being used.
Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription
His finger struck against the desk, tapping as each second passed like a clock was in the room. Ticking away and drowning out the silence, Touma was slowly becoming overwhelmed, but his eyes remained trained upon the interviewer. Holding the smile that was painted across his face, refusing to show any signs of panic.
“Five different medical items? Hm. . . There are a few that could be named, like paracetamol, cough syrup, and multivitamins, but then there are also things such as eye patches and wooden canes. Although there are a variety of others, those were some that weren’t just some sort of medicine but actual items used to help people.”
If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
Toshinari shook his head at the question that was asked of him. This would be blatantly obvious with any other officer, right? His view was always to do the right thing, focusing on his work while also ensuring that an inmate isn’t being treated wrong; his eyes darted to the clock. A simple sentence in his mind “It’s going to be over soon, push on.” Words of affirmation for himself.
“My first instinct would be to intervene, removing my co-worker from the inmate and taking over the situation. I believe that inmates are supposed to feel safe while also being treated fairly, no matter the crime that they’ve committed. After removing the officer away, I will tend to the inmate and ensure that they don’t need any medical assistance before interrogating them on the situation that had occurred in the cell as it’s my duty to figure it out, allowing me to later report it to higher-ups in the police department or detective department. My radio will be extremely useful as I will ask for assistance and for someone to check the footage of the cameras, and also the bodycam footage of the assaulting officer. Once all of that had been gathered, I would ensure that the prisoner is safe in the cell before turning in all of the evidence to my higher-up. Then it’s out of my hands from there, nothing more in my power, unless I am requested to describe the events that I saw.
What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?
His eyes tracked around the room once more, glancing towards the clock. Time was slipping through his fingers, but that was a good thing, wasn’t it? Touma seemed to be daydreaming for a moment, chances it was of being an officer and finally achieving his dream, but only he would know that at the end of the day. Snapping into reality as another question was asked, how many?
“Huh!? Oh, I would swiftly assess the situation and see if I could deal with the people who were assaulting my fellow officer. If there were one or two of them, assaulting my co-worker without a weapon, drawing my taser would be my first instinct before screaming at them to back away from them. If that is ignored, my taser will be aimed at them before being fired and rendering them harmless to my fellow officer. However, on the off chance there were multiple more people assaulting them with any sort of weapons, I would quickly radio for backup or even hit the code zero button for immediate help. I can’t handle a large group alone, and this is knowledge that I am well aware of. Waiting for backup would be my best bet, but also trying to get my co-worker out of any immediate danger would be my goal, stepping in to buy time as backup arrives at the scene. Pulling my taser and rendering a few harmless ones this time would probably be my best bet.”
What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?
The striking of his finger came to a stop, eyes fixated on the interviewer. Nerves that had once affected the man had vanished, and this situation slowly became second nature to him. After doing it for how long? All of it felt normal, words fluently escaping his mouth. . . Could this man stop yapping now?
“My own co-worker being corrupt? They shouldn’t even be an officer if they’re helping a criminal organisation, but that’s just my own opinion. Firstly, I would use my phone or even a body camera to record the situation that is taking place before me, capturing everything that I possibly can without being caught and even attacked. Once sufficient evidence has been gained, whether this be by going through the bodycam footage of the officer or even collecting it myself. It will be passed over to a higher up of the force, once it’s out of my hands, there’s not much that I can do. Unless I am requested for an interview or to even look into it a little more.”
How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?
One singular breath escaped his lips as the interview started coming to an end. Touma Toshinari was finally getting used to the questions, too! But alas, it wasn’t going to be long till it was all over, attention flicking between the interviewer and the clock once more, face illuminated by the light that displayed all of his facial features.
“At even the sign of an offer, I would instantly deny it. Stating to them that they’re being fined for bribery of an officer, depending on the situation, they might even be arrested. Once in a cell, I would fine them before listing out their other charges. Another thing I would even state to them is the reasoning on why an officer cannot take bribes for the future, as it might prevent the problem from happening once more. Overall, any officer of the force shouldn’t take bribes, even if this is not the case. I will uphold the standards, refusing to take simple bribes from people.”
