My suggestion is to bring back KPS.
Now, I am not suggesting to bring back the old KPS system, or old majors, but have some ability to murder in SRP.
For example, if somebody majors you twice, or kills your friend,
Maybe even nerf KPS (Ia. They can't be passed to other players, so characters have to handle their own problems, but allow for vendettas IF a family member / gang member is murdered.)
Vendettas were one of my favorite part of old SRP, as well as the fear of losing one of my favorite OCs
How will this benefit the server and community?:
I understand why the permissions system was changed originally, it was super gorey and disgusting. I remember how sickening some players' actions were, but I feel like we went from 100 to 0.
Nobody is really scared of gangs anymore, what is there to be scared of? Imagine this scenario:
Oh! I pissed off a dangerous Yakuza, I sure hope they don't break my leg!
or
Oh! I pissed off a dangerous Yakuza that has killed hundreds of people, I can't wait for my stabbing that I won't even be at risk of dying from.
That's not realistic, nor is it scary OOCLY, it may be a little scary ICLY, but old GangRP had that feeling of anxiety when you got surrounded, or when you saw people with blackouts and masks chasing you, and that feeling was lost over time, as the chances of you losing your character grew lower and lower. And that issue was caused by the removal of KPS. Gangs aren't scary.
Repeating myself, before the KPS consent update, people had REASONS to be afraid of gangs on SRP, and reasons to not mess with people they didn't want to mess with, and a genuine feeling of fear when they saw people pulling up with Balis and weapons, but now, fights feel like watching fight scenes in kids' shows, where the producers give every character a lethal weapon, but nobody actually gets killed by the trained assassins with lethal weapons.
There is still stabbing, but that's all it is. You get skewered, can go to the hospital, nobody can force you to bleed out, and you'll be fine in a bit.
My point is, with the removal of KPS years ago, GangRP lost its old charm, and one of SRP's most fun components feels almost dull. Now, dangerous syndicates armed with deadly weapons, with lore that makes them seem more evil than the cartels, just issue beatings and maybe, if the person is unlucky enough, they get poked with one of those weapons, which are meant to kill, waltz their ass to the hospital, and all's well after a few OOC days.
Also, with the loss of KPS, police officers become more of a nuisance than a fun component of CrimeRP. I miss the days where, when somebody ratted you out to the KPD, you would hunt them down, and actually do something. Now, you just poke them, and they cry a bit, get a band-aid for their booboo, and are just fine, or need crutches for a bit.
I also miss when we could actually do stuff to police officers. Now, when an arrest of your buddy happens, you don't get to hunt that officer down, and kill them. That was one of the things that made the old Police vs gang conflicts fun. People on both side had equal powers. Police could lock the gangrpers up, and the gangrpers could get their revenge on the officers. It seemed way more realistic.
Of course, perm-baiting was a huge problem back then (and is still a minor problem now), but with heavily modified versions of KPS balancing, I believe that KPS could actually be a good feature if readded, with stricter rules.
