Describe your activity on the server:

I am frequently on the server, most times on my College account rather than my adult account, due to the fact that I don't have much I want to do/pursue as the adult character as I do with my current College character. Although I am well informed on the way GangRP works I have, as of recent, lost interest in it. Even on my college account I am on the college baseball team, and have zero interest in getting myself involved with any acts of GangRP. The only time I currently combatrp is for the Fight Club, which is strictly P2L. I guess that GangRP just became redundant to me, and I realized I'd rather have a character be recognized due to their extensive history rather than being little known for a few crimes that had little to no incentive.

What is your motivation for applying?:

The reason I want to be in the KPD is because I have-- for the most part-- explored every other faction in SRP. I've gone from GangRPing to being a peaceful Monastery worker, and think that getting involved in the police force on SRP would give me something new to devote myself to, as well as help freshen SRP up.

Do you understand Japanese Laws and Basic Conduct?

During my time as a civilian and as a Monastery worker, I've had the opportunity to learn about and otherwise piece together some of the workings of how the Japanese Law System work. As far as actual knowledge, I have a somewhat limited extent. While I have spent time trying to read into how certain laws are different in Japan as compared to the US, the amount of information that I had to take in while trying to maintain any of it limited me to the basics. I would love to further my knowledge though, and would not mind taking time out of my day to learn more about it.

What knowledge do you have of Police Work?

Police Officers, atleast from what I can tell, deal with anything from disorderly conduct cases to hostage situations. Otherwise they may be seen on patrols, at the police station, or attending any event that they are required at. Their job is to maintain the peace of Karakura, and to do that they must be proactive.

Why is Police important to SchoolRP?

On SRP one of the largest factions to this day is GangRP. This makes it imperative that some sort of law enforcement is present, and that is what the KPD is meant to do. Without the police faction, other factions would not be able to function properly, or at the very least would be worsened. Since SRP is somewhat of a balancing act, taking it away would leave GangRP to grow exponentially and without limit, which I believe would cause a lot more issues with rule breaking and arguments OOCly.

Do you acknowledge that you're subject to being demoted if accepted at any given time?

Yes, I am aware of this.

Do you acknowledge that applying for this role, you are agreeing to be 100% dedicated to the Police Officer role?

Yes.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are authorised to attend or you will be punished?

Yes.

Do you acknowledge that you’re subject to IC harassment, and you are NOT to take things OOCly when dealing with training & situations?

Yes.

CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE

Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?

Shinji Takei is remarked as an incredibly respectful male with a somewhat outdated sense of etiquette. Still, Shinji's company is unanimously enjoyed. Shinji's way of life, or "code", is similar to that of Bushido. He lives his life following seven virtues, which consist of Integrity, Respect, Heroic Courage, Honor, Compassion, Honesty/Sincerity, and Duty/Loyalty. During various parts of his life, these virtues may appear to be lost, but regardless of his position at that time they are still found to be intact in some way, shape, or form. Shinji is now a peaceful man who spends most of his time at home or at the monastery. When at home he has a growing interest in cooking, while at the monastery he can be seen enjoying tea at one of the tables or making offerings to the Kami. His way of life is a distant memory to what he had gone through or done during his times of struggle, but with his seven virtues of Bushido more present than ever, he finds little to no trouble finding content in his life, apart from the occasional regret here or there.

What they're like on and off the job?

Off of the job Shinji is known to be a rather quiet person, the type of person who wouldn't strike up a casual conversation, instead, talk to you about things in life that were up to interpretation. He enjoys hearing from others, and finds that he often times becomes more infatuated with what someone else has gone through or done in their life than figuring out what he should do in the present. His life revolves around a simple schedule where small details change, such as whether he will go to the monastery a given day or go shopping. For Shinji, having a sense of control over his life is vital, as he has grown to fear the "out-of-control" feeling he had felt in his twenties. He doesn't mind if other people consider his way of life bland, to him, it's a perfect formula for inner-peace.

On the job Shinji is less reserved, often times doing his job with the aforementioned codes of Bushido. He finds his work to be something of complete seriousness, and can even struggle to relax while on the job. In his mind, every decision he makes while on duty can and will affect another person or persons, so he takes upon himself to complete any task or objective he has with his utmost attention and precision. When handling a person who has, most likely, committed a crime, Shinji likes to remain as unbiased as possible. He believes that anyone, given the right-- or, more accurately wrong-- circumstances can appear to be guilty of something that that person may not have done.

Outlook on their co-workers? Plans for the future?

Shinji views his co-workers as his equals, each of them someone who had most likely had to put their best foot fore ward to get to where they are now. It is because of this that Shinji likes to inquire about what they do, what they believe in, and what they hope to accomplish. Even so, Shinji is still respectful of a person when they aren't comfortable disclosing certain information, as he certainly isn't one to speak against it. He would like to, at some point, be at a mutual understanding with all of those that he works with, so that they may work more efficiently together, as well as appreciate each other's strengths, weaknesses, and struggles.

As for plans for the future, Shinji would ideally like to retire at some age while having formed a new legacy he can be proud of. His main goal would be to slowly progress through the ranks, while not letting any of the titles affect who he is. Otherwise he would like to maintain his otherwise peaceful life, and hopes that regardless of his position in the Karakura Police Department he is able to find some peace and quiet when need be. Like said previously, Shinji just wants to feel as if he is in control of his own life, and wants to avoid anything that may infringe on this. He is proud of his involvement in the Karakura Police Department, but still wishes to not be defined SOLELY as being a part of the Karakura Police Department.

BACKSTORY
(Make sure this biography/lore has 100+ words.)

Shinji Takei is a thirty-six year old male that has spent his time growing up in Karakura, Japan. Throughout his life his family has taught him several elements to leading a good life, and Shinji, growing up, did his best to retain these lessons. When Shinji was a teenager his brother had died in a gang related incident, and it was during this time that his good teachings had left him. For the first time, his good morals and sense of respect for others was abolished, since, they had been the ones to take his brother from him, and the wounds it had dealt him reached his core; eliminating any interest he previously had in treating anyone with decency. This was worsened when Shinji's pleas to the Karakura Police Department weren't able to bring him the justice he was after, since the Karakura Police Department was unable to find the person who had Taken Shinji's brother away.

Between his feelings of betrayal, and the belief that the police weren't going to be able to help him, he went down a dark road, and slowly became the same type of criminal he despised. Shinji would begin roaming the streets as a gang member. From his eyes, he was searching for the person or group who had killed his brother, but in reality, he was being blinded by his emotions of anger and resent. By the time Shinji was in his twenties he had become more involved with gang related activities, and failed to realize that the actions he now performed almost daily were a far cry from his original intent of simply achieving any sort of resolve. Now Shinji was simply just another gang member doing horrendous crimes for insignificant reasons. It was also in his twenties when he had realized his girlfriend had been pregnant with his baby, which was enough to once again shift his perception. Now, he feared that his ties to gangs would put his daughter at danger, while also fearing that leaving it would leave him and his daughter without protection. Between these two things, Shinji slowly realized that he was being confined to his criminal way of life.

Shinji had realized that his daughter was at an increasingly high risk of falling down the path that he had, and made a bigger focus on directing her away from it. He had sheltered her from the things he had done, and monitored the things she was doing and the people she was associating with. Shinji's daughter had the same morals as he did when he was a little kid, and for him, it gave him a sense of relief. Every now and again Shinji would wonder what things might have been like if he had avoided the criminal life, but when he saw his daughter doing the things he wish he could have done, it gave him a sufficient sense of fulfillment. Shinji began spending more and more of his time with his daughter, encouraging her to be her best self while also being there to support her while she did it, even if the members of his gang made remarks of how he was "becoming soft" because of it. He didn't think much of it at the time, since they were still protecting him, and more importantly, his daughter. This sense of safety revealed itself to be rather thin, as when Shinji was thirty-six he was searched and arrested for two counts of weaponry.

It was a dumb mistake on his part, but one that he could live with. He spent nearly a month in jail before being bailed out, finding that during that time it wasn't the other inmates that scared him, instead, it was the lack of communication between him and his daughter. Not once during his time in jail had he seen or heard from her, and it frightened him. He wondered if she had thought less of him for his charges and if that had been the reason she hadn't seen him, but when he was released he had saw the more clear, yet unfavorable, truth. Shinji went on for three days without seeing his daughter, before finally finding out that she had been murdered while Shinji was serving his jail sentence, and for the second time, his world was crushed. He didn't know how to react or WHO he could direct his anger at, since now he had seen gangs take away his daughter, while he also believed that the Karakura Police Department were the ones that took away his brother. He found himself between a rock and a hard place, not knowing where or who to go to. The wound he felt by his daughter's death made the previous loss of his brother-- at least for the time-- feel insignificant. He now wanted to find out who had taken his daughter from him, or at the very least, protect the Karakura population from ever needing to experience a similar pain.
