What is Erik’s favourite part of the Chinese dynasty

(any of the seven dynasty’s)
When it comes to Chinese Dynasties, I would say, Erik favors the Tang Dynasty (618-907) or the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) simply because they boast the golden age of Chinese civilization and a high point in Chinese culture and the amazing advancements in science, technology, mathematics, astronomy, and their literature.

(also look at this flappy hat and the goofy beard!)

My own personal favorite Dynasty would be the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) ... The last imperial dynasty of China, because of their lasting impression on Franko-Belgian comics and pop culture, but also their super complex and weirdly twisted interaction with foreign powers and their head on clash/collision with modernity.

Why pick thirty three questions as the limit instead of a more evened out number?

I believe you said you’re a teacher oocly, how is it? That’s what I want to do when I’m a working adult.
roooom.jpg

To be honest - I didn't plan on becoming a teacher, hahaha!
It's exhausting and at times - tiring. But it can also be quite rewarding - because you get to provide some essential services to the youngest.

Although, being a teacher also feels hella weird. What even is a teacher? Here is my hit piece on the profession of school teacher:
There are two kinds of people who become teachers. Those who never dared to venture outside of the school system and those who tried and failed.

I'm the second type. I've been a freelance artist, dabbled in game development, worked in a cosplay and LARP costume shop, and even took on roles as a workshop mentor, project manager, publisher, and marketing manager. I've launched and killed a few businesses, and explored various side gigs before finding my niche in teaching art. I do tend to clash with teacher colleagues who have spent their entire careers within the educational system. I find that we don't see eye-to-eye, particularly when it comes to grades and the strict application of the curriculum.

First of all - it helps when you are passionate about the topic that you want to teach. The kids can tell when you are actually not at all interested in the stuff you teach. Leverage your experience.

It's also good to stay flexible - you'll meet vastly different types of people and you have to adapt to different learning styles and environments. Don't get stuck - it's hard to get unstuck!

Network with other educators and learn from people who you feel are good at teaching/providing information resources. Adopt as many techniques from your teaching idols as possible.

Don't underestimate the workload. Teaching isn't a 9 to 3 job, it often involves evenings and weekends spent planning lessons, grading and preparing materials. You definitely have more homework as a teacher than as a student.

Don't idealize your impact on the kids. Teaching can be incredibly rewarding but change/progress in students is usually slow and not always immediate. You need an angels patience and the willingness to accept that - in some cases - you simply don't make a difference.

Learn to be zen. It's a bureaucratic nightmare out there. The education system includes standardized testing requirements, curriculum restrictions and constraints, and administrative paperwork that might break your spirit if you are not prepared. This will burn you out, if you don't adopt some kind of mindfulness.

Passion for teaching, empathy, willingness to communicate from different angles, resilience, and generally a focus on the students well-being are all great assets to develop, if you want to aim to become a teacher.

And always keep in mind that you can be friendly with the kids, but you are not their friend. You are an adult and you are there to provide structure, safety, and a productive work environment. If you want to keep a youthful mind and mingle with them young folks (to stay in touch with your inner child,) do it in your free time. Join a club or mentor a project or . . . play SRP. But don't mix private and work life.

Also, sometimes it's useful to bring oropax or some headphones, because children are loud!

Why pick thirty three questions as the limit instead of a more evened out number?

Yes of course, I will guide you through my process of elimination:

12345678910
11121314151617181920
21222324252627282930
31323334353637383940
41424344454647484950

I don't wanted to answer less than 26 (insufficient) or more than 35 questions (draggin on for too long). This leaves me with 10 reasonable options:

26272829303132333435

Out of these options, 33 stands out as a master number in numerology, symbolizing a higher spiritual consciousness.
Like alliterative names such as Peter Parker or Marilyn Monroe, it is pleasing both visually and audibly, making it easy to remember and symmetrically appealing.
I was 33 when I uncovered the Gold of the Spanish Armada. The ghosts guarding the treasure cursed me to complete 33 near impossible tasks - . . . .

33 is arbitrary. The reasons for / the meaning behind my choices are a mystery to myself.
But that's nothing that can't be remedied with some quality storytelling.

(ooooOOOoo, but look! Your forum level is 33! oooOOO, coincidence?) *waving hands*

My plans are of no concern to you, young man.

Rest assured, when the time comes, you will play your role as needed.

For now, patience is required.

(but thank you, I want the Occult Club to succeed and become a respectable or even prestigious club that can offer a wide range of events and activities in the future.)

Just out of curiosity, would you ever consider creating a different character, apart from our beloved Erik Finster?

No, and I don't think I'll continue playing SRP much once Erik's story in Karakura concludes.
I like to invest all my energy in the development of one or two characters and really flesh them out.
I get lot of variety as a game master for D&D and Shadowrun, so I don't have any desire to opt for another character on SRP.

I still enjoy playing minor roles like Salty the Snail and Scooby the Dog, and occasionally, I create one-off characters for fun events.

I also co-own a character with my close friend Toby. Sometimes, when he visits, I let him play as Erik's sister Hana or Otori Satoshi. He usually brings his laptop, but often uses my desktop instead. Lately, he hasn't been visiting due to family issues - so I've started using Hana more as my alternate. If I ever stop playing Erik, Hana is likely the character I would choose to focus on, since I've watched her develop and contributed a lot to that characters growth.
