General Information.png

What is your Minecraft username?: combjvllyfsh

Do you have Discord (If so, what is your discord username?): chasingjellyfsh

What is your time zone?: AST, or known as GMT -4

Describe your activity on the server: My activity is pretty good as I am online throughout the course of the day. I am only a part of one faction at the moment, that being a team, and I am pretty flexible with my time. Having been on the server for 7 years, I still have a great passion for it, and that drives my activity, as I still enjoy playing on the server as I have all this time. Not many things occupy my time currently, and even so, I have a pretty good schedule made. I also have 4 accounts in which I like to pay equal attention to, but my main account is where I'd be seen the most, of course.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?: Yes, I am very aware of this happening, being on the server for quite some time, I've been in my fair share of factions. Though I would not let it get to this point, notifying my head if there is a situation that comes up, making me have to be inactive, as well as using the correct channels provided to log the inactivity. Needless to say, I wouldn't be inactive for more than 2 weeks, provided that something does come up.

School Employee Role you are applying for?: Receptionist

In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for: There are a lot of responsibilities tied to the role of a receptionist. Being the core of an institution's foundation and being a part of its success. From a school's perspective, their work is very effective as they make sure there is a sense of good communication in the midst of not only their co-workers, but parents and students as well, while also informing them of all the information they may need. The general idea of their role is to assist those who are in need, it can start from a new student wanting to know where a class is, to helping them with their schedule. Taking phone calls directed at the school and even greeting visitors. They help by making the school environment a lot more functional, as I believe they hold a great responsibility.

What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?: Well, as someone who has been roleplaying from the time I gained access to the internet, I'd like to think that I am very experienced when it comes to this topic. It started from a very early age in 2016, starting on both Amino and Roblox, Amino opened my eyes to the endless possibilities one could roleplay, and usually, I went for settings that revolved around magic or school, or both, a school filled with magic. I really enjoyed the people I met and all that I did there, it felt great to be able to play as people outside of my everyday life, like I could be anything and anyone that I wanted to be. That was pretty much when I fell in love with the idea of roleplaying, and I searched endlessly for other settings. Leading me to YouTube videos, this was also around the time I started getting into Minecraft. Tons of YouTubers would roleplay on Minecraft, which was a win-win situation for me, as it combined my two favorite things into one. One of the videos actually advertising SchoolRP, which made me join in 2018 after I had gotten my java account, since then, ive been a keen roleplayer in the server. I've learned to develop my roleplaying skills with the time ve spent here and the people I've surrounded myself with, as well as the factions I've been in so far, teaching me many ways I can portray my characters the way I wanted them to be portrayed.

Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?: I want to join because I believe I am ready to take on being in another faction, I have more of a connection towards roles that are all based around the school, and they are usually what I normally go far as I find them to more pique my interest when It comes to roleplaying, though, I have thought about expanding more, But I believe I would be more comfortable in this setting, as I have tried it before and absolutely loved everything about it! Being a receptionist was also the first ever faction I joined. I greatly enjoyed my time, and even tho that was a while ago, I'm still up for seeing how the ropes have changed, eager to work my way around it, and re-learning the ways of a Receptionist. This was the role that broke me out of my shell when it came to roleplaying, providing me with many opportunities and friends that I will forever cherish. I would absolutely love to be allowed to rejoin this faction once more. I would also like to add that I'm applying for the long haul, not just to stick around for a short period of time, but to be actually committed to this role as I have been in terms of playing on the server as a whole.

Situations.png

During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:

Nadia knows that not all responses require a reaction, thus, would lead her to avoid engaging emotionally with the student, knowing well enough that if she responds with what the student is looking for, it would only ever escalate the situation, rather than defusing it. Instead, she would go about trying to tackle the situation professionally, because of who Nadia is, she would try to throw in a bit of humor when it came to her reply as well, but not too much humor to overlook the fact that she would try to come off more as an authoritative figure, rather than the student's friend. She would of course let them know that such language isn't accepted in the school environment, as well as encouraging the student to speak about what's bothering them to de-escalate the situation. Provided that the student still carries on, Nadia would follow protocol, reporting the student and their behaviour to the appropriate school staff.

You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:
She would take note of the seriousness of the situation, prioritizing safety above anything else, avoiding physical intervention unless necessary. She would make herself known in the situation, if it is one that she cannot get in between, calling for the needed help from her co-workers. While waiting for backup, Nadia would use what she knew best, her voice, trying to de-escalate the situation, in a tone that didn't provoke the students more, a tone that was controlled yet firm, commanding them to break it up at once. Once the situation is under control and the students are seperated from each other, she'd help by making sure no one is injured, making sure that the students are tended to by the nurse, upon that, being sure to forward the report to the school staff, making sure she gives both students a chance to explain their sides of the story, as well as offering them both resonable alternatives, rather than turning things all violent.

Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:
She would of course, try to handle the situation in a calm manner, thinking of ways to go about it correctly, as she makes sure that safety is looked at above anything else, while still trying to go about it professionally. Observing the situation, if it is more of a case where it's concerning rather than harmful, she would choose to privately address that employee without causing unnecessary attention or try to make them feel embarrassed. However, after observing and seeing that it's a situation where they're putting not only themself but others at risk, immediate action would be taken in her hands, as she would notify the school's staff of the situation, providing herself wherever she is and would be needed. She isn't afraid to set boundaries where they need to be set, but it is her job to ensure that the school is a safe environment.

When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
The breakroom for Nadia is a place where she can recharge her battery, as well as maintain positive connections with her co-workers. She's more of a social butterfly at heart and very approachable, often starting lighthearted conversations here and there to keep the environment lively and upbeat. Though she is never one to push her presence onto others, she does know when, where, and who, making sure she respects everyone in their shared space. Nadia is the type to throw a compliment here and there, especially when it comes to fashion. It was seen as a win-win to her, her eyes being blessed with the different kinds of fashion as she got to brighten the day of a colleague. She believes that a good mood is the key to ensuring that people go back to work with a good attitude, so she gives her all to be a part of that positivity.

Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst on your chosen role:

/me
had taken a step forward, inserting herself in what seemed to be a fight begging to happen, at least that's how Nadia perceived the situation, her hands folded and head tilted to a side, a brow raised even. She took a much needed deep breath, leaning in towards the two who had been bickering like siblings, "Can we slow down for a second, inside voices, please." The words left her mouth in a calm tone, it was clear Nadia wasn't trying to heighten the situation, but to come to terms with it. She looked between the two once more, gesturing towards an area that was more private and away from the crowd, her hands unfolding and more relaxed now, as she made her way over to figure out what the ruckus was all about.

/me fixed her gaze on the student who had been approaching her. Nadia glanced to the side, quickly taking hold of her notebook with her pen in the other hand. Flipping it open smoothly as she leaned forward over the desk, nothing drastically, but her posture was fixed, and she looked rather attentive, ready to jot down any information if needed be. "Hellllo," She greets them firstly with a warm and inviting tone, "Is there anything I can do for you on this lovely day?" She held her smile, not breaking eye contact as she listened, focused on making them feel comfortable.

/me sat behind the desk, her back straightened as she quietly hummed to herself, flipping over her personal planner as she tapped her pen lightly. Nadia's head shifted to a stack of paperwork that had been brought in earlier. Placing her pen down, she took hold of the papers, going through them as she began to neatly organize them in a smooth motion, her eyes glancing up in front of her ever so often to ensure she would notice if a student had made their way to the desk, ready to offer assistance without breaking her rhythm.

Nationality: Russian
Known Languages: Russian, Japanese, JSL

Backstory
Nadia Orlova was born and raised in the capital of Russia, Moscow. In a home based on strict rules and high standards, of course, her parents. Her mother, being a well known socialite, and her father, a respected dean at a medical university, both had a clear idea of what they wanted for their daughter's future, for her to of course have a life of either business, law, or medicine, there were just no other options for them. But that wasn't the case!

Nadia was always one who enjoyed a fashion show here and there, using the little free time she had to model in front of her dolls and plushies, putting together outfits with her clothes and just wearing them in different and interesting ways. At the age of 9 and her parents both being on a trip, the girl was sent to stay by her grandmother to look after her. She was always a curious one, as one day of looking around the house for something to do rather than reading and studying, she went into the attic, finding boxes filled to the brim with clothes. Stuff such as silk dresses, lace gloves shawls, basically every and anything that the girl could find. Nadia's eyes were of course, opened up, as she couldn't believe what she had just found, already thinking of the many many MANY outfits she could piece together with her newly found treasure. Being who she was, she had to ask her grandmother first, which young Nadia did. Happy that her granddaughter found what she thought was an old life she left behind, Nadia's grandmother smiled, and that was when she began to tell her all of her stories at Parson's School of Design in New York. She talked all about how lively the fashion industry was back then, how exciting it was creating collections and the types of relationships she made with well known fashion designers along the way. Listening to each story, Nadia felt like it was something out of a movie, a dream. Felling somewhat of a fire start within the girl whenever she begged her grandmother to tell her more stories each day. Having her own desire to make clothes she herself could wear, as well as many other people. She then committed to learning whatever she could on the fashion topic, hiding fashion magazines in her textbooks when she was supposed to be studying, as well as making sketches in her school notebooks in classes.

As she grew older, Nadia's passion for fashion (see what I did there?) only deepened. Her parents, however, were not encouraging at all. They rejected her desire to become a fashion designer as soon as she expressed it. Her mother stated that fashion was just a silly pastime, whereas her father referred to it as impractical and a waste of one's free will. Nadia however, kept on pushing on the low. She also had something that worked well in her favor, her grandmother's legacy at Parson's. She applied to the school, with a portfolio based on her own knowledge and self taught, as well as her grandmother's teaching and a recommendation letter from her, and once the time was right, she received a letter, stating that she was accepted. Nadia, secretly with the help of her grandmother, left Russia and went to the school of her dreams, the same school her grandmother had once studied at, all of which, not notifying her parents about. The girl thrived at the school, she studied day in and out, perfecting her craft as she learned and worked on flaws along the way. She did pretty well in the demanding industry, and later, obtained her associate's degree, then her bachelor's degree in fashion and design, and began to focus on her future. After graduating, she landed a dream internship at Vouge that she had applied for while still in school, and this seemed like the ideal way of getting out there and starting a business and getting more of your work seen. Now, everything was fine for a while, she was doing well in the new setting, and she herself got to interact with some well-known names in the industry, while putting her back into every single assignment and task given to her, flawlessly executing them all. However, the fashion industry was brutal to poor Nadia. There was some major miscommunication on a high-profile project which caused nothing but disaster and lost clients, and Nadia, was used as the scapegoat for the mistake. In a matter of weeks, she had lost her job, and worse, her reputation in the industry was tarnished. The same industry that had once welcomed her now shunned her, not wanting to touch her name at all, and Nadia, had nowhere to go or turn to.

Broke and with zero clue of what to do with her life, as her dream was now in shambles, Nadia was forced to turn to the one person she was trying to prove wrong, which was hard, her father. Though the man still didn't agree with such decisions, he couldn't bear to see and leave his daughter, his only child at that, suffering and struggling with nothing. After a few phone calls, he got her an opportunity to apply for an employee job at a prestigious school in Karakura, Japan, where he had ties. Now working as a receptionist at the age of 27, her enthusiasm for fashion still survives, though it's a far cry from what she imagined her life to be. Taking on the role and helping those in the school. Nadia, being who she was, still took on the role of a Receptionist head on, always striving to do good in any and everything she did.

Motivation for Joining KHS: "I'll be honest, I absolutely live for being the person who keeps everything in order and making life a little bit easier for everyone else, being a Receptionist? Perfect for that, and maybe more. I really think I have a power when it comes to helping while trying to balance a million things at once, it really is like a superpower, a power I'd like to share at KHS, being a Receptionist. With my not so recent experience, I gained a lot of skills within my internship, then my job, learning how to work with others, the much needed communication co-workers need, and much more that I could offer with this job, this is a place where I can bring my positive work ethic. This wouldn't just be a job for me."

Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?: "For starters, I'm someone who thrives in chaos, the type of situations that people panic at, the type of situations that make people get up and run, me? I like to handle those with a smile. I'm quick on my feet, and I adapt to my surroundings quickly. I bring energy and a level headed approach to my work environment, all of which sets me apart from other applicants. Im not a quitter, here for the long hall, which can be seen to be one of the most important qualities in an employee. Not only do I have my share of skills required for this job, but I would love to help in terms of offering my ideas to the school, bettering the experience for everyone. I wouldn't just fill this role, i'll enhance it."
