KARAKURA HOSPITAL APPLICATION

Out-Of-Character (OOC) Section

IGN (In-Game Name):

Mumuna, main account is Maysi

Previous bans:
I received a ban in August 2021 for extreme gore and have been regretful for the way I wrote even after my ban was lifted. Since then, I have surrounded myself with positivity in different teams, both in and out of character, and made amends with the person I hurt. I am now aware that it was a mistake of judgement, lack of sensitivity and dismissal of the player demographic.

Describe your activity on the server?:
I spend around 1-3 hours on weekdays and on weekends I spend up to 5 hours on SRP. I have been a returning member since 2019 and I'm always looking for new things to do in the community. I'm a casual player and never get too invested in the game, but that doesn't mean my activity will drop any further. In fact, with this role, I'll make it a point to increase how often I play and join whenever I can.

Which timezone are you in?:

GMT

Do you have discord? If so what is your tag?:
Mel#4723

Do you have a microphone?:
Yes

What experiences do you have with Detail RP?:
I have gradually been improving my writing, trying to expand my vocabulary and descriptions even when I am off the server. Writing is a hobby for me, so whenever I have spare time or feel bored I like to write and see how far I can go. I implement techniques I develop on my own into my actions, involving detail where it's due and also because I think it's more fun than plain phrasing. I take any chance to specify how my character feels or reacts and do so to make it more engaging for the people who are roleplaying with me. Most of the time, I try to detail everything but only when I feel it will benefit the situation or make it more interesting. I know where and where not to use detail, and if I feel like paragraphs will bother someone who just wants to play casually, I will tone it down accordingly. All in all, I think I can write detailed actions on the spot in a decent amount of time, which can be useful for the team when performing certain medical acts.

What is your motivation to apply for EMS and how will you benefit our current team?:
I am motivated because I have never been in the EMS faction before, plus the amount of description I saw in EMS members' actions encouraged me to join and perform the same way. Taking up this role will let me a see a different perspective where I can help save lives rather than solely focusing on my main character's thought process. I'm unsure why, but I don't seem to like the roleplay which the school provides; it makes me focus on available city roles and I was looking to apply for another role, so I chose this one as it caught my eye. Not too long ago, I stepped down from the KPD because I didn't enjoy it anymore and wanted to lead my character to a different path. Even though I don't want to return to the force, I do want to join the EMS and see how I can work there.

Which medical role are you applying for? (e.g: Surgeon, Doctor, Psychiatrist):
Surgeon

Specify your knowledge for the role you’re applying for:
Surgeons play a significant role in the hospital; they are expected to work quickly and under pressure when performing surgeries of all kinds. They know how to cut open a patient's body, repair any damage they see and replace the effected area. Essentially, they are doctors who specialise in evaluating conditions to see whether surgery is needed or not. From there, they treat the patient with necessary actions. Surgeries are conducted in order to treat disease or injury, which takes place in the operating room, preferably alongside other doctors to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Categorize all the functions of the EMS and tell us what each of them does:

Clinical manager:
Clinical managers organise how the hospital runs, supervising staff to ensure they meet the expected standards. They are the leader of each department and improve the overall efficiency, develop goal objectives, produce schedules and make sure hospital members comply with hospital regulations.

Clinical lead:
Clinical leads have a similar responsibility to the managers; they work alongside them and watch over the rest of the team, but are slightly lower and should assist their higher-ups with management.

Surgeon:
Surgeons are there to take care of patients' health and treat any damage on their body: injuries, diseases, deformities etc. They are provided with various tools that will aid them in any surgeries they carry out, but must first decide whether someone's condition can be fixed without surgery.

Doctor:
Doctors examine patients' clinical history and diagnose them according to their illnesses; they are one of the first members of staff who attend a patient, and their main focus is on their overall welfare.

Psychiatrist:
Psychiatrists have one of the most important jobs, despite not performing treatments related to physical health. It is their responsibility to diagnose patients, with all their knowledge about mental illness, and provide their clients with sufficient support in every appointment they commit themselves to.

Are you aware of the basic medical emergency color codes? If so, with their meanings, specify all those you’re aware of:

Red: Fire

Orange: Hazardous spill

Yellow: Disaster

Green: Emergency activation

Blue: Medical emergency

Violet: Violent individual

Pink: Child abduction

White: Evacuation

Silver: Active shooter

Brown: Severe weather

Black: Bomb threat

Do you acknowledge that you're subject to being demoted if accepted at any given time?
Yes, I acknowledge this and will accept the decision made if I am demoted.

Do you acknowledge that applying for this role, you are agreeing to be 100% dedicated to the Hospital Staff role?
I do and will make sure to put in the time and effort needed to sustain my position.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are authorized to attend or you will be punished?
I understand and will attend whenever I’m online so I avoid any punishment.

Do you acknowledge that you are NOT to take things OOCly when dealing with training & situations?
I do, and rest assured that I will never take things OOCly. Throughout my time on the server, almost nothing has affected me personally.

In-Character (IC) Section

CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE

Tell us about your character; how do they look, what makes them unique?

Shirayuki is known to be a punctual, commendable worker who is on task during her shifts. These signs of diligence have been obvious since a young age, where she was always working towards a higher grade in her studies. Her hair is short and bright red, emphasising her warm olive green eyes, and she is of an average height, 5'4. At a glance, she seems very approachable, mainly because of this colourful appearance. However, she is not as cheerful as her aura even though she holds no negative feelings towards others.

What are they like on and off the job?
On the job, Shirayuki is kind but reserved, making sure she does her best to help any patient allocated to her. She is passionate about helping others feel the best they can, and so her job is her life; there is a hardly a day she doesn't come in when someone needs her help. Off the job, she spends a majority of her time alone because she feels comfortable and at peace that way. She can usually be found at the shrine monastery, forest or home — sleeping. If not, she will walk around the plaza for a while until she gets tired of the noise and people.

Outlook on their co-workers? Plans for the future?
She likes her co-workers and hopes to work alongside them for a long while. Being in a team gives her a sense of fulfilment, so as an EMS member she will be sure to cooperate and work with her partners. Every day, she is eager to come in and train herself to be better, so she will be seeing her co-workers often. In the future, Shirayuki would like to continue working since she believes there is no better way to spend her time than saving others.

Does your character have any past / current mental and or physical illnesses we should take acknowledgment to?
Clinical depression

BACKSTORY

Shirayuki Aikawa. Two jewel-like eyes opened one morning in spring, facing the image of a delighted female who fell in love with her daughter's features. A contrast met; the intensely dark pools that were her mother's irises filled with warmth, blessed by her baby's toothless smile and rosy innocence. One glance over her face was all it took to seal the young woman's promise. Without a doubt, she would make sure her child grew up in Karakura to live a comfortable and productive life. Just next to her stood a husband who had the same look of glee on his face; he laid his hand on his tired wife's shoulder and they cried tears of joy.

. . .

The girl had always been a resident of Karakura — a town polluted by all sorts of hostility. Now a teenager, she had realised how the place truly was, she just wished she had known sooner. Though her parents were still around, welcoming her back from school every day, Shirayuki couldn't help but swat their open arms away. Every time, the sharp actions carried out by their daughter left them in crescent sorrow. They simply followed the downcast girl's steps with their eyes, and she went further away; the sound of her angsty stomping faded out until it was silenced by a door being swung to a thunderous close. What was it that made her feel that way?

. . .

Powerless, drowned, nauseated. These were some of the things she felt as she thrashed her head around, sulking into the oceanic abyss while forced to close her eyes. It was eleven a.m. in Karakura High, students and faculty alike were busy either getting to their respective classes, slacking off or hiding from the principal. Missing atrocities that occurred on campus was easy; the jam-packed school served as a secret muffler. Only if you were right outside the females' toilets would you be able to hear the cries and urgent movement. Perhaps more since the situation only escalated.

"Hurry up and get it over with, Tris." seethed what appeared to be the director of the attack. The lanky girl who was apparently named Tris abided by the leader's words, forcing Shirayuki's head all the way down into the toilet water so her locks of apple-red hair were soaked. To her, it seemed like the torture had been ongoing for at least an hour, but it had only been a minute since her face was plunged downwards. All the swishing her body did proved futile against four cheerleaders who crowded around her, one of whom had both of Shirayuki's arms restrained behind her. The blaring lights of the bathroom merged with the profanities and simper coming from above, unlocking nothing but hopelessness. She gave up struggling.

"Awh, boring! Where'd all the fight go?" giggled one whose makeup was plastered on her face unflatteringly.

For some reason, the comment she made irked the impatient group leader. Her perfectly manicured hand came forward, clawing at Shirayuki's fringe so she was forced to look up at her in an uncomfortable position.

"Look at you now, pathetic and drenched like a rat out of the sewers. You aren't even fighting back. What, do you think you're better than me?!" she cried, banging the redhead's face into the stall's wall in the heat of the moment. That was all that was needed to knock her out.

Silence filled the room for a moment.

". . . What. Did you just-" started a cheerleader who had been standing idle at the entrance of the cubicle. But she, as always, was interrupted by the dominating voice of the one who had put Shirayuki in an unconscious state.

"Just- shut it Mei. Let's get out of here . . ."

The other three were mildly guilty, standing still in their places, looking at the girl who was tangled up on the floor in a mess. However, they were quickly unfrozen by a great holler.

"NOW!"

Startled, they felt themselves practically jump out of their skin and dashed away from the area. The demander walked out soon after, but not without kicking the girl in the stomach.

. . .

Twelve a.m.

A nurse had left her office momentarily for lunch, heading up all the stairs to use the bathroom. Finally she reached the top and entered the room, but she saw the unfortunate sight of a girl with a huge bruise on her forehead. To top it all off, she was still sprawled out on the ground and had not woken for a while. The raven-haired nurse rushed over to Shirayuki's side and checked her pulse, seeing that it was still there; then, she took out her first-aid kit and pulled out a cold compress, placing it over the girl's injury. There was no time to move her to the office, so she pulled her out of the cubicle area and into a recovery position. All the while, she kept an eye on the girl's breathing patterns and made sure her airway was open.

Half a minute passed while her fretful eyes were set on Shirayuki's face, and then a strained cough splurted out of the conscious girl's mouth. The nurse's eyes lit up.

"Can you hear me?"

Lethargically, the girl looked up to see a sweetly troubled face. She managed a few nods and no further questions were put forward, not yet. All that mattered to the employee was the safety of the students. Her hand lifted Shirayuki's head — moving with great caution — and she supported the teen's weight in her arms, picking her up. They went back down the stairs and into the office, where she was advised to rest for the rest of the day. The protection Shirayuki was nurtured shifted her attitude; it sparked motivation to ease the cruelty in her home town. With this notion and the caring expression on her role model's face, Shirayuki's ambitions were seasoned. She always loved the idea of healing and now she wanted to take on such a role, but at a higher level. Her school environment was not a place she wanted to return to, so she opted to join the local hospital.
